Could this be how John Avery gets his break back into the NFL?

My money is on the quicker return surgery, but it'd be interesting to see who Minny would start if Bennett can't go.

Onterrio Smith should get the nod before Avery...... hopefully

Or it could be how Onterrio Smith shows teams he should have been picked higher that the first round, either way this hasn't been a good offseason for Bennett. First he gets his wallet stolen, which leads to people shooting at him, then he breaks his foot, and now he may miss the entire season because of it

I almost have a feeling he would be better off getting surgery on the foot and sitting out the season. He's still young and has a long career ahead.

More than likely the Vikings would make the starting running back spot an open competition between Onterrio Smith and Doug Chapman. If neither of them steps up in the preseason, then Moe Williams would get the nod.

Time to move Smith up those fantasy rankings.

Wonder if Ricky Watters is still sitting by the phone?

Personally, and rather selfishly, I hope Avery gets cut from the Vikings. He was the only reason I would go to Edmonton Eskimo CFL games last year...
