I don't like inspirational music. I am already inspired, makes me sad others need it.

Trying to remember the name of a TV show that for the life of me I can't remember. Probably a late-90's/early 2000's show...sci-fi in nature.

The main character was this guy who was like the only person who knew there was this alien invasion of Earth going on, but he was also crazy and the show kept you on edge about whether he was just hallucinating about the whole invasion-thing or if it was real.

I don't remember what channel it would have been on, but I think I saw reruns on USA or SciFi or something for a short period of time. Never saw the whole series though and totally would love to.

Anyone have any help?

Nevermind...figured it out finally after a bunch of googling. It was First Wave.

Speaking of which, the new (at least to us) ketchup packets from Chick-Fil-A, that can either be a dipper or a squeezer, are brilliant.

Depending on my mood, I can be either a dipper or a squeezer, but I don't like ketchup.

I have a metric buttload of dandruff on top of my head and in my eyebrows (!) right now.

I'm tired of the same people shitting up threads here. You see the same ones in the college sports threads, the same ones in the EA Sports threads, the same ones in the political threads, and that same asswhite Pumpy Tudors in all the other threads. It's disturbing.

I simply don't get skateboarders. I mean, I'm totally okay with people who want to use them as transportation. Not the choice I'd make, but I get it. But the folks who hang out at a skate park or just some random curb somewhere and spend the day doing little stunts on the board (95% of which seem to culminate in the kid falling off and the board rolling away)? Yeah, doesn't even look remotely entertaining to me.

Yes.

The more appropriate question is do I ever have one of those days at work where I don't hate the human race.

The answer is no.

Before I moved from NYC, I was walking by a skate park in the Bronx & saw a skateboarder who appeared in his 20's walk across the street so he could really build up speed do do some jump. Fell flat on his ass. It was fucking beautiful.

The select few geniuses are winning the world. Creating device after device marketed as technology but in fact dumbing down the world to a disturbing but impressive degree. In a few generations spelling will be non existent. History will be relegated to schoolbooks about the evolution of Halo games. Kids will still probably know about Lincoln and Washington but dudes like Taft and Adams are fucked. I don't know what the end game is for these geniuses or what their plans with a world full of mindless numbnuts are but I hope it involves breeding, cause I need to get laid.

Sometimes I think the best writers simply write and then cop to the coolest interpretation.

I've had the Outfields Your Love bouncing around my head for 20 years now and I still don't where the fuck Josie is or who this guy is trying to bang.

Late night infomercials for exercise programs are the new softcore porn. I just wish they all had Gilbert Gotfried introducing them.

Yes, I've never gotten the appeal. Some of the hardest, most difficult tricks to learn just look so unimpressive to those of us who don't skate. If you put that much effort into something else you could be doing backflips or dunking a basketball, but instead you're jumping two inches in the air and then clattering. Wow.

I can't figure out why, but I check FedEx tracking AFTER I've received the package. I guess it's to get double the excitement from one delivery...?

Hehe. I just set it up for an email update so that I'd be sure to be in the office on the day it was delivered so as not to miss it (by being at the gym, or being out of the office). Pretty speedy updating though. Kudos to their software package.

So I've had surgeries on both shoulders, leaving me with matching 3" scars on the front of each shoulder (on the bra/bathing suit line). Someone once suggested to me that I get an arrowhead coming out of one of the scars, and an arrow tail coming out of the other, to make it look like I got skewered. I laughed it off.

However, this weekend a friend came up with one that I could ALMOST get, along the same theme. He suggested I get the Portal guy across the scars--you know, half of the guy coming out of one scar, the other half coming out of the other.

I'm enough of a nerd, and could ALMOST see getting that....

Yes! After months of hoping, it's finally paid off. I have my phone set up so that when my wife calls me, it's Darth Vader breathing...which is awesome in it's own right...

Anyway, so I'm out of town attending a conference. I'm staying in this fairly upscale hotel (At least the beers are $5.50 a piece which screams high class to me). I catch the elevator and there is already 7 or 8 people already on board....a nice quiet elevator...a perfect captive environment....and as if it were coordinated...my wife calls me and I have the phone on max-volume. Heavy Vader breathing ensues...followed by a few priceless awkward looks and smiles from my audience....and I casually answer my phone..."Hi, Honey..."

So awesome.

Got a recumbent adult tricycle today. It's freaking amazing and wonderful, especially in the 100 degree heat we had today. Now I'm just waiting for the basket to get in and I'll finally have greater independent mobility than I've ever had (I don't drive and I can't ride a bicycle because of balance issues).

A coworker has the Darth Vader breathing when his boss calls. He has the Star Wars march/fanfare when his wife calls.

I did not know this, but, may be old news to a lot of people...The Florida Marlins get a new stadium next year and a name change for the team... The Miami Marlins. Now if they can be sent to the American League and play the Cubs in the World Series...

If you've got a theme park, and on your website you advertise two close hotels with shuttle service, why on earth would you make the shuttles drop off outside the main gate and force your visitors to walk all the way across the parking lot to enter? Especially on a rainy day?

If you run a mass transit system, and you are converting from only allowing these special SmartTrip cards to allowing any credit card, and you note on your website that the Largo Maryland station is one of the few that allows you to pay for parking with a credit card, and inside the Largo station is a big sign touting the fact that you can now pay with a credit card, then why would you not only have only the south parking garage allow you to exit with a credit card, but also shut down for construction the only connection between the north and the south parking garage, thus forcing someone who did his research to re-park, walk back in to the station, and have to pay the $5 fee in addition to the parking fee to buy one of those SmartTrip cards to get out of the parking garage?

We should have driven to Six Flags and taken the shuttle to the Metro stop, and instead did the opposite. Sigh.

August is the month for every vehicle of mine to have something go wrong with it.

That, and I found out I supposedly had an affair with a woman I hardly ever talk to. Ah, the perks of being the only male in the building. You become an instant man whore without ever becoming one.
