Were they offering a "Buy LASIK for 1 eye, get it for the other for free" deal?

Yup, it was something like that.

Just alert me before you show up on my doorstep with Kathy Griffin so I can remove my contacts beforehand.

Welp, the bowling team I was on ended up taking 2nd place. We had a shot at first place, but, choked a couple of games ago and lost any chance of grabbing the title.

I was just looking at what numbers were retired by NBA teams.

Miami actually retired 23 for Michael Jordan, a player who never played for them??? What a fucking joke...

Didn't every team retire Jordan's 23 I thought?

No, it was just some Jedi mind trick greatness that Riley pulled on LeBron.

Anyways, the Celtics have a retarded amount of retired jerseys. A ton of the "traditional" 0-5, 10-15, 20-25, 30-35 jerseys are retired. Arguably worse than the Yankees.

Try to tell the Pistons, Pacers or Knicks they have to do that. It won't go well.

Then again, it's hard not to retire a bunch of numbers when you have SEVEN or EIGHT Hall-of-Famers on the roster in 7 of 8 seasons from '57-'64.

Just watched Star Wars (A New Hope) with my 5 year old, was pretty cool. He enjoyed it.

But, I really "remember" the light saber battle between Darth Vader and Obi Wan Kenobi being MUCH more epic ! After watching it 30ish years later, all I could see was how they could barely hold up their arms haha.

My son and I watched it last night too. I agree, it's funny. Looking at it now, it's just a tussle between two old guys. No force moves, no fancy acrobatics. Just a very basic sword fight.

I'm having a hard time deciding whether to play FM12 and watch my surprisingly good first season fall apart down the stretch or to play MW3 and watch my ass get kicked by superspeed jerks

I ended up going with MW3 this morning, figuring I'd have to let my kid have the XB tomorrow when he gets home from a Scout camping trip. That'll leave me tonight & tomorrow to lock in on FM12.

Had a hard time placing one of the cast members from the(soon to be cancelled) show Unforgettable. Turns out he also played Herc on Friday Night Lights. I guess I never would have even considered that the actor playing Herc(Street's friend on the Murderball team) wasn't actually paralyzed. So I guess that was a great sneaky bit of acting there on his part.

Passed by the one where 7 meets I-81 today, but we weren't expecting it and had already hit McD's. Maybe we'll grab some on our return trip.

We did get dinner at Del Taco though (first time we've been to one since going to one in Flagstaff nearly 15 years ago). Yeah, gotta say they kick Taco Bell's behind.

I love it when TV cop shows make up rappers. Tonight's episode of Castle features a female rapper named Nicky J and her boyfriend is named Biggie Slim.

This does not surprise me. LV is pretty much terrible off the strip for anything but Thai food. And a few Italian places.

Doing a project for my brother's 30th birthday this year, stumbled across some old school photos my mom had saved. For kicks, I posted my 2nd grade class picture to Facebook. Got a bunch of comments, and a girl I used to know asked me to untag her. We exchanged messages, I noticed she's pretty damned attractive these days and asked her out. She was busy but said we should hang out some other time.

Signed up for an online dating service yesterday. Today, this same girl is one of my matches. I am more than a little creeped out by this.

I've been watching way too many episodes of Criminal Minds lately. I'm kind of annoyed that I can't find a montage of Derek Morgan(Shemar Moore) kicking down all the doors he's destroyed over the course of the show. It's easily the highlight of every episode. The "my name is Daryl, this is my brother Daryl, and this is my other brother Daryl" part of the show.

I'm thinking....wouldn't a show featuring "NCAA" type compliance investigators work on TV? Even on a traditional broadcast network? You could draw from all sports, male and female athletes. You'd have corrupt boosters, coaches, and fans. Plus the interworkings of who gets punished and how hard.

This is one of those shows where I never, ever make time to see it, but I find myself watching the repeats I find on whenever I don't find anything else interesting to watch. It's a terrific show.

Never noticed the door kicking thing, so I'll have to watch for that. Shemar Moore looks badass.

Once you notice it, it's comical as hell. The doors go flying like they are made out of balsa. And he has no hesitation whatsoever. Just once I'd like to see him attempt to take out a door and get pwned by some double walled oak thingy.

Derek Morgan is one of the greatest TV characters of all time.

I don't think you'd want something with millions of dollars hanging in the balance with all sorts of footage out there to provide lawsuit fodder.

Or it could be that they don't want everyone to see how arbitrary everything is? Darn manatees

Come down to Greensburg. I'll take you onto the Seton Hill campus and have people tell you some interesting stories about Division II compliance.

I'm thinking he means it as a scripted drama type show with a fictional NCAA.

Found out today that my sister went in for a heart cath/stent a month ago (although, it was a false positive) as did one of my brothers.

Lets see... Dad had a heart attack when he was around 48 and died at 65.. Mom had a heart attack around 48 (still ticking along), oldest brother died of a heart attack at 55, 2nd oldest brother had a heart cath at 46 now I find out my brother and sister had one in their late fifties.

I'm 41 so... guess I know what's in my future. *sigh*

Guess the bright spot is that I actually exercise several times a week and I don't smoke or drink where everyone else in my family (other than my sister) were heavy drinkers, smokers or both...

It was truly the stuff of 'random thoughts' legend.

I was perusing the 'Celebrity HoN: Would You Rather? West Bracket (Round 2)' thread, and was going to make a post along the lines of "These pics are proof that our God is an angry God by making men have a refractory period." I wasn't sure of the spelling of 'refractory', so I turned to The Google for help. The first link was a Wikipedia article, and I quickly headed down the rabbit hole. I eventually landed on the "Post-coital tristesse" article, and saw the quote. It inspired me to do a sig update.

I must be completely out of touch, but is Jim Rome really still that popular? I haven't heard him on the radio in years. I know he had a weekday ESPN show that I watched about as often as that awful Kellerman show with all the sports writers who think they're funnier/wittier than they are (by half). But I thought his day had come and gone... like a decade ago.

I was wondering the same thing. I stopped listening to him the day he ranted about the Twins playing a double header where the opponent in each game was a different team. He went on and on about it being like little league, etc.
