All-Star Day

Race #1

Truck Series Qualifying Race

All-Star kicks off with the running of the truck series qualifying race. After a terrific 20 lap shootout, Will Kizer passed Russ Wheeler in the race's final lap to take the win and get a spot in the FOFC All-Star Race.

FOFC All-Star Race

Now for the main event. On the pole for the 40 lap all-star race was Rob Nielsen. In 2nd was Truck series driver Jackson Pace. Early on the racing action was intense as a big crash on lap 5 occurred that knocked out Rob Nielsen, Magnus Nielsen, Max Gresham, and Mustafa Henderson. From there Jackson Pace led for 9 laps before Bo Duke took over. Duke was dominate. He constantly was challenged by the likes of Deacon Palmer, Will Kizer, and Benton Gale but refused to give up the lead as he led 22 laps and took the victory in the very first ever FOFC Sprint Cup All-Star race. Benton Gale came home 2nd, truck series driver Will Kizer was 3rd. Deacon Palmer was 4th followed by truck series drivers Connor Root and Jeremy Letto in 5th and 6th. Truck series drivers raced extremely well as they took 4 of the top 8 positions.

Not a Bad Run, .04 from a Top 5, but was still in the Top 1/3 and less than half a second from the Leader at the End!

Race #6 of 10 - Cheez-It 50 Results

You never know which drivers are going to step up when you head to the road course. Today, the driver who dominated was Bob Fulton. Bob led 40 of the race's 50 laps and was able to hold off a challenge from D.J. Kennington in the race's final laps to take the victory. Kennington was 2nd, Connor Root was 3rd, JR Fitzpatrick 4th and Gustav Nielsen 5th.

Team Letto had a Good Running today, 1 on the Podium, another in the top 5 and another in the top 10 that put Jeremy Letto in the #24 back in the Top 5 in points with a 2 way tie for 4th! Hopefully he holds on to move into the Sprint Cup next Season!
4 Races left, and 1 of them is at a Super Speedway, I'm hoping to see Jeremy Letto win there like how he won at Daytona!

Wow, great run in the all star race against all the cuppers for #39. We're having a great run here in the trucks, knocking off top 5's and leading the points. Great battle for the win at Watkins Glen BTW, congrats to the winner.

Race #7 of 10 - Armory Digital 250 Results

We had some great racing today at the Armory Digital Superspeedway. 46 lead changes among 17 drivers made for some exciting racing. No one driver was dominant, Gustav Nielsen led the most laps with 16, so all that mattered today was putting yourself in the right position when the laps started to tick down. Russ Wheeler was able to get himself to the front and held off B.L. Zebub to score the victory.

Hmm, I was expecting Jeremy Letto to do better considering he Won at Daytona and both tracks are Super Speedways, but I guess he led the 2nd most laps so I can't really complain besides being 1-2 laps shy from most laps led for more bonus points.

Race #9 of 10 - Pepsi 250 Results

The second to last race in Season 1 of the Camping World Truck Series featured some terrific racing. Connor Root, Coy Duke and Will Kizer battled it out for the win for most of the race. Root led 78 laps, Duke led 35. As the race wound down, Root was able to get through lapped traffic and take a small advantage, which was needed as Coy Duke had the much faster car the last few laps and may have been able to overtake Root with 1 or 2 more laps. Root picked up his 2nd win of the season and now is very close to becoming the very first FOFC Truck Series champion.

Only 1 race remains. If Connor Root finishes in the top 20 at Homestead he will be your Season 1 champion. Root has essentially locked up a promotion as well. In 2nd place is Jeremy Letto, 25 points back. 3rd is Dexter Jackson Jr, 27 points. Both are still mathematically alive for the title but need a lot of luck. The battle now becomes to see who will get in the top 5 to become promotion eligible. 4th place currently is Jack Topper with B.L. Zebub and Brett Hawkins tied for 5th.

Boy. Zebub just drops off the lead group at 3:40 in the highlights. Wonder if a bad pit stop was to blame.

I'm not exactly sure what the issue was but Zebub took an unscheduled pit stop and everyone else stayed out. Must have had a flat tire or something.

Top 5 Finish in the Race and currently 2nd in Points with 1 race left, a Better Rookie Season than I was Expecting! any idea on when the homestead race will be? What would it take (Besides Luck) to become the Champ?, Clearly Connor Root would need a DNF/20something Finish.

If Letto wins and leads the most laps and Root finishes 22nd or worse without leading a lap, Letto is the champ. If Letto won and led the most laps and Root finished 21st without leading a lap it would be a tie. If Letto finishes 2nd and leads a lap, Root would have to finish last without leading a lap for Letto to win. If he finished last but led a lap it would be a tie.

Well, Looking at how he done in the Past at the type of track Homestead is (1.5 Mile Speedway), I'd Need a Miracle, Congratz on Being Champ Root

Just a Comparison from the 1.5 Mile Races (Including the All Star Race)
Texas 250: C Root Started 11th & Won, J Letto Started 5th and Finished 14th 3 laps back
All Star Race: C Root Started 13th Finished 5th, J Letto Started 19th finished 6th, 0.03 Second Gap
Last Race, Pepsi 250 @ Chicagoland: C Root Started 11th and Won, J Letto Started 3rd, Finished 5th 8.22 Seconds Behind Root after managing to lead 2 Laps

Race #10 of 10 - Ford EcoBoost 200 Results

All day it was three cars that ran up front, Vance Duke and D.J. Kennington traded the lead while Connor Root sat behind them in 3rd. That was until the final green flag stops of the day. With only four laps remaining, Duke, Kennington, Root and others all needed to make their final stops for fuel. Not everyone needed to make the stop, however, as 6 drivers, Chuck Long. Gustav Nielsen, Coy Duke, Will Kizer, Landon Nicholson, and Max Gresham all had enough fuel to make it the distance. Long was able to lead the final 4 laps to take the win.

Connor Root ended up with a 15th place finish, but that was all he needed to do in order to wrap up the title.

FINAL STANDINGS

Connor Root is your Season 1 Truck Series Champion. Jeremy Letto finished 2nd and Will Kizer came in 3rd. All 3 of those drivers will be moving up to the Cup Series next season. In 4th was B.L. Zebub who becomes promotion eligible but can only replace one of his Cup series teammates. The same for 5th place Chuck Long.

Wow. Looking at the points, the only way Long gets in is if he wins and Jackson, jr. Finishes last. And that is exactly what happened. Crazy.
