WW Small Game: The Tudors (Day4 EARLY START! deadline - Friday 5pm ET)

Getting the signup list here for people to sign up if interested. The game will start on Friday and play through the weekend (with a slightly extended schedule) into next week.

First dib goes to people not currently playing in the WW Spawn game (either didn't sign up or got killed/lynched and are out of the game). I'll fill up the rest of the game with people who are interested in playing but are currently in the big game.


This game will be a pretty simple game and will at most have 11 players. (No more than 11 allowed to play) This rule set if it is popular is one that can be expanded for a larger game for a possible future usage, but for this game the rule set will be mostly minimized.

Note this game is based on the TVshow "The Tudors" which in some cases is different than the actual history that the show is based on. There might also be additional liberties taken in the game where it is different from the show.

It is 1520, and Henry VIII sits on the throne of England. All seems to be well in the kingdom of England, but apperances may be deceiving. Word has it that the Reformation movement has swept like a wildfire through Europe and is now threatening the entire Catholic Church and even England herself. To add to the religious turmoil, there has been much hostility politically as well. Charles, king of Spain has recently been elected as the new Holy Roman Empire and has started to flex his muscle against the King of France.

Locally, word has it that King Henry has publicly denounced the reformist movement and has set his priests to try to stamp it out before it can gain any ground in England. Any reformist literature has been ordered to be destroyed, and any heretics should be burned at the stake. Will a King that often has his mind distracted by other matters such as pretty courtiers, plus a group of corrupt and selfish bishops and cardinals be enough to prevent the Catholic church from being overrun?

This is a basic game of Werewolf/Mafia, where lying and deceit is a common occurrence and often necessary to survive.

Teams and winning conditions:

Loyalists - You are true to England and the Catholic Church. Your goal is to remove any reformist and stop the reform from entering England

Reformist - You are tired of the abuse of the Catholic Church and will go to no end to overthrow it. Your goal is to remove enough loyal Catholics to reach a 1:1 ratio with the remaining Catholics and thus help England become protestant.

There are no hidden teams or third parties in this game.

Game Cycles (Turns):

This game will have a traditional Day/Night cycle to it.

The Day Cycle will begin each day at 7am EST. During the Day Cycle, the only action from all players (both loyalists and reformists) will be to take part in the lynch vote. The deadline for the Day Cycle, and the lynch is 9:00:59pm EST unless otherwise explicitly stated. Any votes that come in at 9:01:00pm EST or later are null and void.

The Night Cycle will begin each evening at 9:01pm EST (or immediately after the lynch results) and will end at the night cycle deadline of 6:59:59am EST the following morning unless otherwise explicitly stated. Conditional orders for Night Cycle actions are accepted and welcomed if your schedule prohibits you from being available 9pm or later.

Lynch Vote:

Each day cycle all players must take part in the lynch vote. The player with the most votes ends up lynched unless some other action blocks that from occurring. No lynch is not an acceptable vote for this game. In the case of a tie, there is an unknown tiebreaker that will still result in the lynching of a player.

Roles:

Each reformist and loyalist will have a role listed below. Not all of these roles will be in the game, however the reformist have spies that have informed them to which roles currently are not around and thus available for fake reveals if needed. Roles that have additional abilities are (BOLDED)

Loyalist roles:

King Henry VIII - King of England (DUKE)
Catherine of Aragon - Queen consort to King Henry and Aunt to Charles, Holy Roman Emperor
Anne Boleyn - Lady-in-waiting to Catherine and rumored to have the affection of the King.
Cardinal Wolsey - Cardinal of York and most trusted adviser to the King (SEER)
Sir Thomas More - A pious humanist and long time friend of the King
Edward Stafford, Duke of Buckingham - Direct decendant of Edward II and Knight of the Garter. The current Lord High Constable (BODYGUARD)
Princess Margaret Tudor - The sister of the King, matched to marry the elderly King of Portugal against her personal desires.
Bishop John Fisher - The Bishop of Rochester
Mary Boleyn - Sister of Anne Boleyn and one time mistress of King Henry
Lady Elizabeth Blount - One time mistress of King Henry, gave birth to his illegitimate son who later died.
Princess Mary Tudor - Daughter of King Henry and Catherine

Reformist roles:

Martin Luther - A German monk and theologian who started the reformist movement (BRUTAL)
Thomas Cranmer - Archbishop of Canterbury
Thomas Cromwell - Head Chancellor and advisor to the King. Secretly loyal to the reformist movement. (TRAITOR)

*note the traitor role knows who the other reformist are, but they do not know who he is. He is not allowed to communicate privately with the other reformist. He will scan as a loyalist but wins with the reformist*

As normal with Werewolf games, no editing of posts are allowed, no outside communication regarding this game (via PM, email, IM or pillowtalk) is allowed either unless specifically stated.

As things may get heated, please refrain from any name calling or personal insults that go beyond the game.

I withold the right to make modifications to this rule set as needed.

lol, I needt read a little more carefully. I first didn't like the idea of the game with everyone having a role (seen that end very quickly with everyone revealing and the wolves left flapping in the breeze) until I saw the stipulation that not all are used and the "wolves" will know the vacant ones.

I stayed out of the other game as it seemed to be way too complex for the time I had available for it. I also need to get my werewolf fix in over the next few weeks as I'll be back in India in August for about a month.

If you're playing, I am starting this game later today/tonight with first deadline tommorrow. With that schedule a 7 person game would be over by thursday or thursday night at the latest, so you should be fine.

England is in turmoil! The King, once beloved by all now has quiet critics all throughout the land. None of course shall speak ill of the king publicly, but the favor that he holds with the people has diminished. Catherine however has remained popular with all of the people whom consider her fitting to be a Queen.

While the King constantly focuses on the desire to have a son, and various flings with women of the court a new threat has swept across Europe. The Reformists led by Martin Luther threaten to remove Catholicism and replace it with their new Lutheranism. Such heresy will not be heard of, and you must work to stomp it out before it can get a foothold in England proper!
Day one has officially begun. The day will be slightly extended as it will last until 9pm EST Tuesday night. A lynch vote is due at that time!
