Forgot to mention in the preview that there are lots of injuries this year: ASU has 2 (as I edited to mention), Stanford has their starting C out for the year with a torn ACL, UCLA has a quality JR SG out for the year with a ruptured achilles, WSU has a quality C out for the year with a shattered patellar.

Arizona is one of the few completely healthy teams in the conference.

Arizona's starting 5:

SO PG Jeff Yates is 6'4 193 and he is lighnting quick. However, his ball handling is below average for a PG and his passing is as well. If he improved in those areas, he'd be very dangerous as he is a good shooter. As it is, he is only averaging 3.2 ppg, 1.8 apg, and 12.4 mpg as he is starting but not playing much. He is rated 80 overall.

SR SG Harrison Wofford is a quality 3 point shooter with good athleticism. His scoring average has dropped over 4 ppg this year to 8.4 ppg. He's also averaging 3.2 apg and 1.6 spg as he is helping out at PG some. He is 6'3 198 and is rated 84 overall.

SR SF Marty Gray is 6'4 215 and is rated 83 overall. He's a solid outside shooter and is a good passer. He's averaging 6.7 ppg and 2.2 apg.

JR PF Lyle Cole is 6'6 236 and is rated 78 overall. He's averaging 5.7 ppg and 4.3 rpg. He is just average in most areas.

JR C Juan Neverett is 7'0 240 and is rated 82 overall. He's got decent speed, good post moves, and he can hit the midrange shot. He's averaging 11.0 ppg, 5.5 rpg, and 0.9 bpg.

SR SG Gavin Boatner is playing a lot of PG for them off the bench. He's 6'0 170 and is rated 81 overall. He's their best ball handler. He's averaging 11.7 ppg and 2.1 apg.

SR SG Ronni Langford is 6'4 208 and is rated 79 overall. He's averaging 5 ppg in 12 mpg.

JR PG Harold Defares is 6'3 192 and is rated 77 overall. He's averaging 3.7 ppg and 1.4 apg in 11 mpg.

The rest of the bench is rated in the low 70's. They have one bench player with size - SO PF Michael Castillo who had a nice game against us last year. He's 6'11 244 with some good athleticism but he is very raw and is only rated 74 overall.

I'll play them later today.

16:50 - Abdur-Rahim picks up his 2nd foul. We are tied at 5. I bring in English.

14:30 - We lead 9-8. English with 2 boards already.

11:50 - We are in the bonus already. Tied at 16.

9:50 - We lead 22-20. I bring in Badu, Moss, Hehn, and Fuller. We keep in English who has given up some plays but is rebounding well and has a few put backs.

7:24 - English hurts his ankle on a dunk. It looks bad, he has to be carried off the floor. We bring in Wolfe. We are tied at 26. That is a shame, he was having a nice game in his first significant action of his career.

6:16 - Badu with a drive to get a 2nd foul on Neverett who is their leading scorer with 10 points.

2:48 - We lead 37-33 as I bring back all of my starters.

Halftime: We lead 44-33.

Annen is the player of the half with 11 points and 1 assist.

Stevens with 6 points. Kabba with 5. Hehn with 5. Moss has 3 points, 3 boards, and 3 assists.

19:22 - Annen on the fastbreak gets a 3rd foul on Yates who hit him hard.

14:59 - Abdur-Rahim gets a 3rd on Neverett. We are on a 11-0 run to start the half (after they scored on their first possession.) We lead 55-35.

9:30 - My guys are tired and the defense has gotten very sloppy. We lead 61-45 as I bring in Badu, Moss, Kilgore, Wolfe, and Hehn.

That group finishes it out as they never get closer than 12.

We win the game 79-67 (we got sloppy late defensively.)

Annen is the player of the game with 21 points, 3 boards, 1 assist, 1 steal, and 1 block. He shot 4 of 12, 2 of 6, and 11 of 12.

Dawson with 2 points and 3 assists.

Kabba with 6 points, 1 board, 1 assist, and 2 steals. He shot 2 of 9.

Stevens with 10 points, 8 boards, 4 steals, and 2 blocks. He shot 5 of 10.

Abdur-Rahim with 2 points and 5 boards.

Moss led the bench with 10 points, 3 boards, 3 assists, 2 steals, and a block. He shot 4 of 6, 0 of 1, and 2 of 3.

Wolfe with 5 points, 5 boards, and a block.

Badu with 8 points, 2 assists, and 2 steals. He shot 1 of 6.

Hehn with 8 points, 1 board, 1 assist, and 1 block.

English with 7 points, 4 boards, and a block in just 9 minutes. I feel bad for him. Time to see how severe his injury is..

English is out 6-8 weeks with a broken ankle.

Our amazing depth is now getting stretched a bit.

Our next game is at home against 11-0 Oregon (9th in the media poll.) I'm going to sim it as scheduled. Let's see if this team is really as good as I think..

We are We win the game 75-59.

Abdur-Rahim led the team with 17 points, 8 boards, 1 steal, and 1 block. He shot 8 of 14.

Dawson with 11 points, 6 assists, 2 boards, and 3 turnovers.

Annen with 14 points, 4 boards, 2 assists, and 1 block. He shot 6 of 12.

Kabba with 1 points, 5 boards, and 2 assists. He shot 0 of 8.

Stevens with 10 points, 4 boards, 3 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks.

Fuller led the bench with 9 points, 5 boards, 3 assists, and 2 steals. Moss with 6 points, 1 assist, and 1 steal in 6 minutes.

Hehn with 4 points and 3 boards in 12 minutes. Wolfe with 2 points in 6 minutes.

Our next game is at 11-3 UCLA. I'm looking forward to pounding them. A look at their starting 5:

SR PG Kellen Delic is 6'3 196 and is from Las Vegas. He is rated 84 overall. He's a very quick player with good shooting but poor ball handling and passing. He's averaging 7.8 ppg and 4.4 apg.

SR SG Lowell Filipovic is one of the top 3 point shooters in the conference. He is fast, he is a solid defender, and he is the best ball handler on their team. He is averaging 14.4 ppg, 4.7 rpg, and 3.4 apg. He is 6'4 220 and is rated 88 overall. He is from Santa Clarita, CA.

JR SF Matt Caskill is 6'7 217 and is rated 82 overall. He is from Huntington Beach, CA. He is a solid midrange shooter. His minutes are way down this year and he is only averaged 4.1 ppg, 2.0 rpg, and 13 mpg.

SO PF Taurance Diallo is the future of this team. He is a solid midrange shooter, but his defense needs work. He is 6'8 229 and is rated 79 overall. He's averaging 9.1 ppg and 6 rpg.

SR C Jalen Cassler is 6'11 285 and is rated 83 overall. He's got very good post moves now and he can hit from about 8 feet out. He's got excellent hands for a big man. He's averaging 20.3 ppg, 6.9 rpg, and 1.5 bpg.

SR SG Arturo Pittman leads the bench and plays a ton of minutes at SF. He is 6'4 207 and is rated 84 overall. He's fast, can shoot the midrange shot, and he's a solid defender. He's averaging 8.3 ppg, 3.6 rpg, and 2.6 apg.

Their next best player, Stewart Jack, is out for the year with a ruptured achilles tendon.

SO SF Jerrad Leach is a future star for them. He's 6'7 224 and is rated 80 overall. He's from Hawaii. He's an excellent midrange shooter. He's averaging 4.4 ppg in only 9 mpg.

FR C Reggie Brickens gives them size on the bench. He's 6'11 246 and is rated 77 overall. He's from Redondo Beach, CA. He was a 3 star player who was rated 112th overall last year. He's a great passing big man who needs to work on the rest of the his game. He's averaging 1.2 ppg, 0.9 apg in just 4 mpg.

The rest of their bench is rated in the mid 70's.

I'll play them later today.

18:14 - Stevens gets a 2nd foul on Diallo. We lead 2-1.

14:00 - Our outside shots are falling today. We lead 14-6.

12:44 - Brickens and Abdur-Rahim collide. Abdur-Rahim is called for the foul. Brickens appears to be down and out.

10:40 - Brickens has been cleared to return apparently. We lead 24-10.

9:40 - Abdur-Rahim picks up his 2nd foul. I bring in Kilgore at SF and Hehn at C.

7:32 - We are on a 11-0 run. I bring in Badu, Moss, and Fuller. We lead 34-13.

1:48 - We are up 39-24. I bring back all of my starters except Abdur-Rahim.

50 seconds - Stevens with a nice move to get a 2nd foul on Cassler. Stevens has had a great 1st half.

Halftime: We lead 43-26.

Stevens is the player of the half with 10 points, 7 boards, and 1 assist. He has shot 3 of 3 and 4 of 4 from the line.

Kabba with 12 points. Annen with 8. Moss with 6. Cassler is their leading scorer with 8.

13:56 - Stevens draws a 3rd foul on Cassler. We had a bad start this half, but the last 3 minutes have been great and Stevens has been driving us. His best offensive game of his career I suspect. We lead 54-40.

Stevens with a block that starts a fastbreak that is finished with a dunk by Annen.

8:55 - We were up by 20, but they got a few steals (including 2 by full court trap) and they cut it to 12 before we had 2 big defensive plays to make it 69-53. They call time. We are going to bring in Badu, Moss, Hehn, Fuller, and Wolfe.

4:23 - Not the pounding I was hoping for. They do a good job against our 2nd unit. I bring back my starters. We lead 74-66.

Stevens with another nice basket in the paint to end their run. Kabba follows that with a 3.. and another 3.

2:02 - We lead 82-70.

They hit a pair of 3's. They foul. Annen and Dawson make their FT's.

We win the game 89-79.

Stevens is the player of the game. He finished with 20 points, 12 boards, 2 assists, steals, and 2 blocks. He shot 6 of 9 from the floor and 8 of 10 from the line. He held Diallo to 0 of 7 shooting and 0 points.

Dawson with 9 points, 10 assists, and 5 turnovers.

Annen with 20 points, 3 boards, 1 assist, and 1 steal. He shot 6 of 9, 4 of 5, and 4 of 4.

Kabba with 20 points, 1 boards, 3 steals, and a block. He shot 7 of 9, 5 of 6, and 1 of 3.

Abdur-Rahim with 8 points, 6 boards, 1 assist, and 1 block. He shot 3 of 8.

Badu with 0 points, 2 assists, and 2 steals in 11 minutes.

Hehn with 3 points and 2 boards in 15 minutes. Kilgore with 0 points and 3 boards in 9 minutes. He shot 0 of 4.

Wolfe with 0 points and 1 board in 5 minutes. Moss with 9 points and 3 boards in 11 minutes. Moss is just relying on good (well great for his size - good for a small SG) speed , quickness, and strength right now. Imagine how good he will be when he develops his shooting and other abilities.

Cassler with 18 points. Filipovic with 16 points. Delic with 16 points for them.

Our next game is at Stanford. They are 12-3 and 25th in the media poll.

We win 74-62. Ballard had 20 against us, but Abdur-Rahim put in 25. Annen with 12 points, 4 boards, 4 assists, and 4 blocks! Badu with 4 points and 4 assists in 17 minutes.

We are now 14-0. Our next game is at Washington. They are 11-4 and 16th in the media poll. They also have 3 guys injured but they are all minor injuries that they can play through. Their talented starting 5:

SO PG Lynn Lenzly is 6'3 196 and he is from Utah. He is rated 87 overall already. He's extremely fast. He can shoot the midrange shot. He's a solid ball handler and passer. His defense is top notch. He's battling a sore ankle. He's averaging 8.6 ppg and 4.9 apg.

SR SG Cornell Hooks is 6'4 208 and is rated 87 overall. He's an electric slasher who can shoot at least slightly above average. He's averaging 15.4 ppg, 5.6 rpg, and 3.4 apg in 33 mpg. He is from Boise, ID.

SR SF Bert Brempong is 6'7 227 and is rated 85 overall. He's a converted PF who is a bit slow for the position, but he's a great shooter and is a solid defender. He's averaging 12.7 ppg, 6.7 rpg, and 0.8 spg.

SR PF Dane Challed is 6'7 240 and is rated 87 overall. He's got good post moves and can shoot from 12 feet with comfort. He's averaging 12.5 ppg and 4 rpg.

JR C Devon Wise is 6'11 275 and is rated 84 overall. He's a ferocious shot blocker who has good post moves. He's averaging 11.3 ppg, 5.9 rpg, and 2.4 bpg.

JR SG Alexis Boggan leads the bench. He is battling a sore knee. He's 6'5 209. He's rated 84 overall. He's averaging 5.9 ppg, 2.9 rpg, and 2.7 apg in 20 mpg.

SO PF Marvin Mance is a very good 3 point shooter. He's 6'6 221 and is rated 82 overall. He's averaging 4.4 ppg and 2.4 rpg in 14 mpg.

SO PG Ron Laws is 6'2 181 and is rated 81 overall. He's averaging 4.8 ppg and 2.0 apg in 10 mpg. He's an explosive dribbler.

FR PG W.B. Henry is 6'0 170 and is rated 79 overall. He's even more explosive but his defense isn't as good as Laws. He is averaging 1.3 ppg and 1.1 apg in just 3 mpg.

The rest of the bench is rated in the mid 70's with the exception of a freshman C that I pursued but ultimately didn't make my top priority -

FR C Max McDade is 7'0 240 and is rated 77 overall. He's quicker than I thought he was and is a much better post player than I expected. I wish I had made him more of a priority last year. Then again if I had, I probably wouldn't have signed Moss. McDade is averaging 1.5 ppg and 1.1 rpg in 2 mpg.

I'll play them tomorrow.

Good news! Vega has been cleared to return to action. He'll get the start in our next game.

Our next game is hosting 11-4 Cal.

We crush them 93-64.

Vega with 19 points, 7 boards, and 4 blocks in his return.

Annen with 20 points, 4 assists, 2 steals, and a block. He shot 7 of 10.

Dawson with 2 point, 3 boards, 10 assists, and 4 steals.

Kabba with 13 points, 5 boards, and 2 assists. He shot 3 of 5.

Stevens with 5 points, 5 boards, and 3 blocks.

Abdur-Rahim with 16 points, 5 boards, and a block in 20 minutes off the bench.

Fuller with 11 points. Badu with 7 points and 7 assists in 14 minutes off the bench. He's showing astronomical growth and looks like he will live up to his great potential that our staff predicted.

Our next game is hosting 5-12 WSU. They are 0-6 in Pac-10 play.

Due in part to injuries, they are starting 3 guys who are rated in the 60's...

JR PG Percy Paschel is 6'0 180 and is rated 69 overall. He's slow, a bad defender, and he can't shoot well. He is a good passer. He's averaging 4.1 ppg and 4.9 apg.

SR SG Kashien Bey is 6'3 206 and he is rated 81 overall. He is their best shooter, their best handler, and their best perimeter defender. He's averaging 11.3 ppg, 2.9 rpg, and 1 apg.

SO SF Maleye Demanby is 6'6 230 and is rated 67 overall. He's a very poor offensive player but an ok defender. He's averaging 2.2 ppg.

SO PF Martin Hunt is 6'9 250 and is rated 67 overall. He's very slow, he can't shoot well, and he's a subpar defender. His best attribute is his strength and rebounding. He's averaging 3.9 ppg and 4.9 rpg.

JR C Donald Nwoke is their best post player. He's battling a dislocated finger. He's 6'10 255 and is rated 81 overall. He has very good post moves but no range outside 4 feet. He's a solid rebounder. He's a subpar defender. He's averaging 13.1 ppg and 6.0 rpg.

The entire bench is rated in the mid 60's. The most notable player is FR PF Stephan Hendriks who is 6'10 244 and is rated 66 overall. He's using his size to average 2.4 ppg and 2.1 rpg in just 7 mpg.

I'll play them later.

Their normal starting PF is out 2-3 more weeks with a broken ankle. Their normal starting SF is out 3 more weeks with a separated shoulder.

13:30 - Nwoke with a nice move inside for their first points. We lead 17-2.

2:28 - I bring back our starters to finish the half. We lead 42-21.

Abdur Rahim with 7 points and 3 boards. Dawson with 4 points and 5 assists.

Annen with 6 points, 2 assists, and 2 steals. Kabba with 5 points and 2 boards. Stevens with 6 points and 3 boards. Love the balanced scoring that half.

They don't score for the first 4 minutes of the 2nd half. We lead 54-26.

9:11 - We are up 79-38 as I call time to pull my starters. Great job taking care of an inferior opponent. Wolfe comes in along with the rest of the earlier 2nd team.

We win the game 97-57.

Dawson is the player of the game with 11 points, 10 assists, and 2 steals. He shot 3 of 6, 2 of 3, and 3 of 4.

our next game is at ASU. They are 12-7.

We win the game 75-60 but lose Marcellus Badu for 2-3 weeks to a shoulder injury.

Dawson with a career high 19 points. He also had 5 assists, 3 boards, and 4 steals. He shot 7 of 11, 5 of 8, and 0 of 0.

Annen was 1 of 8. Kabba was 0 of 9 but still had 4 points, 4 boards, 4 assists, 2 steals, and a block.

Stevens with 12 points, 10 boards, and 2 blocks. Vega with 12 points, 8 boards, and 2 blocks.

Fuller led the bench with 9 points, 7 boards, and an assist.

Abdur-Rahim with 8 points, 4 boards, and 2 blocks.

Badu with 4 points and 4 assists in 10 minutes before he was hurt.

Our next game is at Oregon State which is 7-11. I'm going to sim that game as well and play the next game which is against UCLA..

Jan 31, 2037 -

We crush Oregon State 101-70 but lose Abdur-Rahim to a back injury. He'll be out 3-4 weeks. We now have 3 key contributors completely out with injuries. I can't remember that many being out ever before. Fortunately, Farrell should be cleared to play by our next game. Vega also suffered a sprained wrist in the game. He'll play but it could bother him for a few weeks.

Annen led the team in the win with 24 points, 2 boards, and 1 assist. He shot 7 of 16.

Dawson with 14 points and 11 assists.

Kabba with 11 points and 5 boards. Stevens with 2 points and 9 boards.

Vega with 16 points, 8 boards, and 2 blocks. Abdur-Rahim led the bench with 16 points and 5 boards before he was hurt.

Fuller with 14 points and 4 boards.

Farrell has been cleared to return and will slide back into the starting role. Annen will return to 6th man extraordinaire.

With Badu out, he'll get plenty of minutes. I'm going to experiment with both him and Moss at the point.

Our next game is hosting UCLA. They are 16-5 and 20th in the media poll. They also continue to battle injuries. JR SG Stewart Jack of course is still out and SO PF Taurance Diallo is also out with a strained achilles.

Here is the preview of their team copied and changed to reflect their temporary starting PF:

SR C Jalen Cassler is 6'11 285 and is rated 83 overall. He's got very good post moves now and he can hit from about 8 feet out. He's got excellent hands for a big man. He's averaging 20.3 ppg, 6.9 rpg, and 1.5 bpg.

JR PF Jaret Santos has been starting for them at PF. He is 6'10 250 and is rated 77 overall. He is a decent midrange shooter. He's averaging 1.7 ppg, 1.4 rpg, and 4.2 mpg but all of those have increased in the last 2 games.

18:40 - Farrell on the fastbreak.. dunks over Filipovic who undercuts him and flips him into the air! Farrell is hurt. We are up 4-1. That is Filipovic's 2nd foul as Farrell posted him up the previous possession. Annen into the game.

16:20 - Farrell is just sore. No big injury. He has been cleared to return but will stay on the bench for a few. Vega has just picked up his 2nd foul. Ouch.. going to have to go with Hehn and Wolfe for some extended minutes at C. Maybe Moss a bit as well. First up is Hehn into the game.

14:00 - We lead 13-9. Balanced scoring early.

11:30 - Hehn is spreading the floor with his jumper. Cassler isn't closing out on him nearly quick enough. We lead 20-11.

6:54 - I have guys getting tired. Moss in at PG, Fuller in at PF, and Farrell back in at SG. We lead 27-18.

Moss with a steal and breakaway dunk. Moss posts up the much smaller PG, drawing a double team, and he passes it to Hehn for a wide open dunk.

3:00 - They try to trap Moss in the backcourt, but he throws it over the defender to Farrell. We lead 39-24.

Moss with a beautiful drive and kickout to Farrell for a 3.

Fuller fouls on a 3 point attempt that goes in.

1:55 - Kabba and Hehn are tired. Annen in at SF and Wolfe in at C. We lead 44-30.

1:16 - Fuller picks up his 3rd foul. We leave him in anyway. 3 point play for them.

Halftime: We lead 47-33.

Kabba is the player of the half with 12 points, 3 boards, and 2 steals.

Hehn with 12 points. He is a force to be reckoned with now that his outside shot is starting to fall.

Farrell with 8 points. Dawson with 2 points and 2 assists in 13 minutes. Moss with 2 points and 7 assists in 7 minutes at PG!

Moss is the hot hand and I'm letting him start the 2nd half at PG with all of the rest of my starters.

19:04 - Moss with a block. The Carom bounces to their SF who collides with Kabba. Kabba is called for the loose ball foul. That is his 3rd. Annen into the game.

16:40 - Vega picks up his 3rd but will remain in the game for now. We lead 54-42.

13:00 - We've been playing poorly the last 3-4 minutes. We are up 58-52. Dawson back into the game at PG and Hehn in at C.

7:00 - Guys are tired. I bring in Dawson, Moss, Kabba, Fuller, and Hehn. We lead 68-60.

2:00 - I bring back Vega and Stevens for defense. We lead 75-65. Hehen has had a great game.

We win the game 80-70.

Hehn wins player of the game with 17 points, 9 boards, 2 assists, and 1 block. He shot 8 of 12 on mostly 12 to 14 footers. He held his own against Cassler, a good offensive center, but Cassler did finish with 18 points and 9 boards.

Farrell with a triumphant return - 21 points, 1 board, and 1 steal in 22 minutes. He shot 7 of 12.

Dawson with 5 points, 5 assists, 3 steals, and 5 turnover in 26 minutes.

Moss with 3 points, 2 boards, a career high 11 assists, 1 steal, and 4 turnovers in 21 minutes.

Kabba with 16 points, 4 boards, and 2 steals. He shot 5 of 10.

Annen with 8 points and 3 boards in 25 minutes.

Stevens with 2 points, 11 boards, 2 assists, and 2 steals.

Vega with 3 points and 2 boards in 13 foul plagued minutes. He finished the game with 4 fouls.

Fuller with 5 points and 4 boards.

Darn. I decided to watch the weekly wrap-up show, something I haven't done for many months of real life and the game froze when talking about my big upcoming game vs Washington. I don't think I saved before it froze, so I probably just lost the UCLA result..

Yep, I lost it. I'll replay it tomorrow.

Our next game is against #23 Washington (14-7.)

They are completely healthy and are going to be difficult. Here is a review of their starting lineup again:

SO PG Lynn Lenzly is 6'3 196 and he is from Utah. He is rated 87 overall already. He's extremely fast. He can shoot the midrange shot. He's a solid ball handler and passer. His defense is top notch. He's battling a sore ankle. He's averaging 8.6 ppg and 4.9 apg.

SR SG Cornell Hooks is 6'4 208 and is rated 88 overall. He's an electric slasher who can shoot at least slightly above average. He's averaging 17.2 ppg, 4.8 rpg, and 3.2 apg in 33 mpg. He is from Boise, ID.

SR SF Bert Brempong is 6'7 227 and is rated 85 overall. He's a converted PF who is a bit slow for the position, but he's a great shooter and is a solid defender. He's averaging 11.1 ppg, 6.6 rpg, and 0.8 spg.

SR PF Dane Challed is 6'7 240 and is rated 88 overall. He's got good post moves and can shoot from 12 feet with comfort. He's averaging 12.7 ppg and 4 rpg.

JR C Devon Wise is 6'11 275 and is rated 84 overall. He's a ferocious shot blocker who has good post moves. He's averaging 11.6 ppg, 6.3 rpg, and 2.2 bpg.

18:22 - Dawson gets a 2nd foul on Lenzly. We are down 4-2.

14:56 - Wise and Vega going right at each other. We are tied at 10.

12:20 - Tied at 15. I bring in Annen for Farrell and Hehn for Vega.

10:00 - Tied at 20. Back and forth every single possession. At least 5 lead changes already.

8:00 - We are tied at 24. The lineup now is going to be Moss, Farrell, Annen, Hehn, and Vega.

3:00 - Moss and Vega with a beautiful pick and roll for a dunk by Vega. We lead 37-35 as they call time.

Moss doing a great job to distributing to all of the weapons around him. Hehn with a 3 just before the half. Farrell with a pair of 3's for us in the last 3 minutes. Vega with an interior basket.

Halftime: Their 3's are keeping them in the game. We lead 48-40.

Farrell is the player of the half with 14 points, 2 assists, and 1 steal. He has shot 4 of 8, 3 of 6, and 3 of 4.

Vega with 11 points. Moss with 3 points and 6 assists. Dawson only has 2 points and 1 assist, but hopefully will turn it up in the 2nd half.

15:32 - We are taking over now. We lead 59-45. Farrell is playing some great basketball with drives, good passes, and smart decisions. Stevens is also having a very good 2nd half.

9:33 - They end a 14-0 run with a nice drive by Hooks. We lead 73-50.

9:02 - I rest my starters. We bring in Moss, Annen, Kilgore, Wolfe, and Hehn.

That group continues our run of dominance in the 2nd half. Great teamwork on defense and awesome offensive execution to finish out the game.

We win the game 96-56.

Farrell is the player of the game with 21 points, 3 boards, 4 assists, and 2 steals. He shot 6 of 12, 4 of 7, and 5 of 6.

Dawson with 2 points, 3 boards, 5 assists, and 1 turnover in 23 minutes.

Moss with 4 points, 4 boards, a career high 12 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks in 17 minutes. Best 3 star player ever for me?

Kabba with 16 points, 4 boards, 2 assists, and 2 blocks in 23 minutes.

Annen with 11 points, 6 boards, 4 assists, 2 steals, and a block in 21 minutes.

Stevens with 9 points, 7 boards, and 1 block in 23 minutes.

Vega with 13 points, 4 boards, 2 assists, and 3 blocks in 27 minutes.

EF27, this group is scary good. Hopefully you work out the injuries in the regular season. If you do, then the field should be very, very afraid.

Our next game is hosting #14 Stanford (18-5.) I'll sim it as scheduled.

We win the game 90-75!

Dawson with 13 points, 5 boards, and 5 assists. He shot 6 of 9.

Farrell with 11 points and 7 assists. He shot 3 of 9.

Kabba with 9 points, 5 boards, 2 assists, and 2 blocks.
Stevens with 4 points, 10 boards, and 1 block.

Vega with 17 points, 3 boards, and 2 blocks. He shot 6 of 11.

Moss in his best simmed game - he had 7 points and 4 assists in 11 minutes.

Annen with 12 points, 6 boards, and 2 assists.

Fuller with 9 points.

We are now 22-0 with 6 regular season games left. Badu has just been cleared to return to action. I feel bad for Moss, but Badu has definitely earned the right to keep his backup PG spot.

In recruiting news, the only player who I wanted to sign to a scholarship has told me he is going to Stanford instead. C.B. Brower is a 4 star 6'8 216 pound SF from Los Angeles but he wants playing time right away. Looks like I may not use 2 scholarships this year.

Our next game is at 6-18 WSU. I'll be disappointed in my team if we don't win by at least 25. I'll play that after work tonight if I don't get home too late.

Yeah, I think I focused on roles and specific skills in the last few classes rather than just getting stuck on the highest rated guys and it has made a huge difference. Moss is a guy I never would have looked at as a primary guy before, but his speed/quickness, passing, and height make him a dangerous bench player despite his weaknesses.

Farrell is another guy who I didn't look for in the past because I got too caught up in trying to get the highest ranked recruits, but his shooting is so good when he is on.

This is definitely my most talented top 12 that I've ever had.

Speaking of which, here is a look at the draft projections right now:

SR PG Antone Dawson is expected to be a lottery pick.

SR SF Lucious Kabba is in contention to be the top pick.

RS JR Leo Annen is projected to be a 1st round pick if he leaves early.

JR C Abdur-Rahim is projected to go in the lottery if he leaves early.

JR PF Desmond Stevens projects as a 2nd rounder right now.

JR A.C. Fuller projects as a 2nd rounder.

SR C Olu Vega projects as a lottery pick.

JR Arzelle Farrell is a 2nd rounder right now.

SO PG Marcellus Badu is projected as a 1st rounder (I hope he doesn't leave this early, but suddenly I'm scared he might.)

The only guys who are currently projected to go undrafted are my 4 freshman: Moss, Wolfe, Kilgore, and Hehn.

14:39 - Vega has picked up his 2nd foul. We lead 14-8. Hehn into the game.

8:31 - Our offense is out of this world right now, but our defense has let down in a major way since Vega went out. We lead 30-24 as I bring in Badu, Moss, Annen, Fuller, and keep Hehn in. Time to turn up the full court trap. Dawson was getting into the paint at will and dishing out a ton of assists. Let's see if Badu can do the same.

Badu explodes by his man and is fouled before he can dunk it.

Halftime: I'm very happy with our offense. I'm very disappointed in our defense. We aren't closing out on their perimeter shooters and they are killing us from behind the arc. We lead 56-46.

Kabba is the player of the half with 13 points and 2 boards.

Dawson with 7 assists. Badu with 8 points and 4 assists in just 8 minutes.

Moss with 9 points and 2 assists. Hehn with 11 points.

Much much better 2nd half. The guys are playing so well that I leave them in a bit longer than I should have.

7:34 - We lead 85-60. I pull my starters and put in Badu, Moss, Annen, Fuller, and Hehn. Kilgore and Wolfe will go in a few minutes.

4:01 - Kilgore and Wolfe into the game. We lead 92-68.

We win the game 97-80.

Stevens is the player of the game with 14 points, 10 boards, 3 assists, and 3 steals. He shot 4 of 5 from the field and 6 of 6 from the line.

Dawson with 2 points, 2 boards, 13 assists, and 4 turnovers in 25 minutes. He shot 1 of 5.

Farrell with 13 points and 1 steal. He shot 4 of 10.

Kabba with 15 points, 6 boards, and 1 assist. He shot 4 of 9.

Vega with 13 points and 6 boards. He shot 5 of 7.

Hehn with 13 points and 4 boards. He shot 4 of 7.

Moss with 12 points, 3 assists, 1 board, 1 steal, and 1 block. He shot 4 of 5 (all in the paint.)

Badu with 11 points, 6 assists, and 3 turnovers. He shot 4 of 8.

Wolfe with 3 boards and a block in just 4 minutes. Kilgore with 2 points and a block in 4 minutes.

Next up is a game at Cal. They are 15-9.

We beat them 81-66.

Dawson with 8 points, 6 boards, and 10 assists.

Farrell with 20 points, 5 boards, and 2 assists. He shot 7 of 12, 4 of 7, and 2 of 4.

Vega with 21 points, 8 boards, and 2 blocks. He shot 7 of 15.

Kabba with 13 points and 6 boards. Stevens with 0 points, 8 boards, and a block.

Annen led the bench with 11 points, 5 boards, 1 assist, and 1 block.

We are now 24-0 and Abdur-Rahim has been cleared to return as has English. We are 100% healthy again. Hopefully, we can stay so over the last 4 regular season games.

Next up, we take on a 12-14 ASU team. They are missing star PG Hensley Walton and star SG Booker Stockman due to season ending injuries.

They are relying heavily on JR PG Charles Sessoms who is 6'5 198 and is rated 85 overall. He is a very good 3 point shooter. He's averaging 13.9 ppg and 4.1 apg.

SO SF Eulis Gomes is 6'6 244 and is rated 80 overall. He's averaging 11 ppg and 4.5 rpg.

Today we play at Oregon. They are 21-6 and are 9th in the media poll.

We beat them 92-90.

Vega led the team with 16 points, 10 boards, 2 assists, and a block.

Kabba with 16 points. Farrell was in foul trouble and only played 17 minutes but still had 10 points. Stevens with 13 points and 11 boards.

Annen led the bench with 13 points, 4 boards, 4 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks in 23 minutes. He shot 4 of 8.

Despite the loss this week, we remain #1 in both polls.

Our first game in the Pac-10 Tourney is vs Oregon State which I decide to sim.

We crush them 97-60.

Dawson led the team with 17 points and 6 assists. Farrell with 8 piints nad 7 assists in 19 minutes (foul trouble again)

Abdur-Rahim led the bench with 15 points and 5 boards. Moss had 2 points and 5 assists in 12 minutes. Badu had 5 points and 4 assists in 13 minutes.

We are now 28-1 and will be facing Stanford (20-10) in the Pac-10 Semi-Final. The other Semi-Final has #10 Oregon vs Cal.

Stanford is rated 92 overall. They have a good starting 5, but are missing their star SO C due to a torn ACL. Instead, they will start another SO C who is talented but is a big step down:

SR PG Terrence Wade is 5'10 190 and is rated 86 overall. He is extremely fast and has great ball handling. He is an average passer though. He is a good shooter. He's averaging 11.8 ppg, 3.7 apg.

SR SG Moshood Ballard is 6'3 219 and is rated 90 overall. He's a terrific shooter from anywhere on the floor. He has plus athleticism and he is a good defender. He's averaging 16 ppg, 5.2 rpg, and 1.3 spg.

SO SG/SF Steveroy Matheus is a 6'6 192 pound SG who is starting at SF for them. He is rated 83 overall. He can shoot the 3 very well and he has superior athleticism. He's averaging 11.0 ppg and 2.9 rpg.

SR PF Jerrid Challed is a 6'10 276 pound bruising PF who loves to mix it up down low. He is rated 85 overall. He doesn't have good post moves but his size and strength get him plenty of dunks. He is averaging 12.2 ppg and 7.1 rpg.

SO C Alfred Jeanpierre is starting for the injured Lennon. He is 6'9 245 and is rated 79 overall. Unlike Lennon who is a true post up big man with talent, Alfred loves to spread the floor and can shoot the 3 with skill. In fact, he is one of the 3 best outside shooters on their team. He is averaging 9.2 ppg and 2.9 rpg.

JR PG Raoul Dukes leads their bench. He is 6'0 170 and is rated 83 overall. He is a good 3 point shooter. He's averaging 9 ppg and 2.5 apg.

SR SG Johnnie Blackett is battling a sore ankle but will play. He is 6'5 214 and is rated 79 overall. He's averaging 6.1 ppg and 2.6 rpg.

FR SF Dusty Conroy is a 6'9 230 pound player who is primarily a paint player. He is rated 77 overall and his weaknesses are his speed and outside shooting. He is averaging 2.9 ppg and 2.2 rpg.

I'll play them later today.

Dawson gets it to Vega in the paint where he makes a nice hook shot and is fouled. He completes the 3 point play.

5 seconds - Abdur-Rahim is fouled as he shoots in the paint. The shot barely clangs out. He makes the first FT... and the 2nd.

They get a look at the buzzer, but Farrell with good defense and they miss the 3.

We are going to OT..

4:08 - Farrell with the first basket of OT and then Vega gets his 7th block of the night!

14:40 - Our shooters seem tight early, but the defense is solid. We lead 7-2.

12:00 - Farrell is tired. I bring in Annen. We lead 15-6.

9:00 - Dawson with a drive and he collides Jacobson.. this doesn't look good. Dawson has to be carried off the court.. We are up 22-8. Badu into the game for him. We also bring in Abdur-Rahim for Vega.

4:30 - We lead 33-14 as I bring in the rest of my 2nd unit - Moss and Fuller.

Halftime: We lead 41-20.

Vega is the player of the half with 6 points, 6 boards, and 2 blocks.

Farrell, Kabba, Stevens, and Annen each have 6 points as well. Dawson had 3 assists before he got hurt. Badu with 4 assists in just 9 minutes. Dawson is done for today at least, it is up to Badu now.

15:00 - The defense has slacked off but the offense is flowing well. We lead 53-28.

9:56 - Much better last 5 minutes. We lead 73-30 as I pull my starters. I put in Moss, Annen, Kilgore, Fuller, and Abdur-Rahim.

We win the game 96-44.

Badu finished with 8 points, 9 assists, 7 steals, and 2 turnovers in 19 minutes.

Farrell with 12 points, 3 boards, and 3 assists in 18 minutes.

Kabba with 8 points, 3 boards, 2 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks.

Stevens with 13 points, 10 boards, 4 steals, and 2 blocks.

Dawson with a broken ankle. His career as a Trojan is over. Badu will be our starting PG the rest of the tourney. Will he continue that role next year?

#8 Kansas State (20-11) beat #9 Cal 71-63 to advance to face us in the 2nd round.

Kansas State has a very athletic starting 5, but they lack depth on their team:

SR PG Jevon Fernandez is very quick. He's 5'11 160 and is rated 85 overall. He's an excellent 3 point shooter and a very good passer. His defense is subpar. He's averaging 15.9 ppg and 5.1 apg.

SR SG Danny Engle is 6'1 191 and is rated 82 overall. He's also an extremely fast and quick guard who relies on great ball handling to get into the lane. He can also shoot well from the outside. His defense is also his weak point. He's averaging 15.7 ppg and 3.1 apg.

SO SF Percy Luz is 6'6 235 and is rated 82 overall. He's a sharp shooter who is weak defensively. He's averaging 13.2 ppg and 3.4 rpg. He's suffering from back spasms but will play today.

SO PF Lonny McFadgon is very athletic but very raw. He's 6'8 218 and is rated 75 overall. He has very little shooting touch and is weak defensively. He's also a bad passer. He's averaging 5.6 ppg and 4.1 rpg.

JR C Kirby Crawford is also athletic but raw. He's 6'10 245 and is rated 76 overall. He's a terrible shooter who has no touch even in the paint. He's averaging 5.2 ppg and 4.9 rpg.

The entire bench is made up of freshmen and sophomores and none of them are rated higher than 70. Most of them are in the high 60's.

I'll play them tomorrow.

7:40 - I put in the rest of my bench - Hehn and Kilgore. We lead 24-18.

2:00 - My starters all return. We lead 36-30.

Halftime: We lead 42-36.

Farrell is the player of the half with 10 points, 3 boards, and 2 assists.

15:00 - We turned up the defensive intensity this half. We lead 54-36. Badu is dominating their PG.

10:00 - I pull my starters, possibly for the game. We lead 68-44. Balanced scoring from my guys.

They never get closer than 20. Moss with a great finish operating both on the perimeter and out of the post.

We win the game 91-66.

Farrell is the player of the game with 18 points, 6 boards, and 4 assists. He shot 6 of 12.

A look at the Sweet 16:

In the East:

We'll be facing #5 seed Missippi State which beat #4 Providence 74-60.

#3 Xavier will face #10 Ole Miss.

In the West:

#1 Fordham will face #4 Texas Tech

#2 DePaul will face #3 North Carolina

In the South:

#1 UConn will face #4 Miami(FL)

#3 Oregon will face #15 Albany! Albany beat #2 LaSalle 78-56 and then beat #10 Baylor 74-64. Albany doesn't have any star players but they start 5 seniors with great team chemistry.

In the Midwest:

#1 Nebraska will face #12 UL Lafayette. The Ragin Cajuns actually have a pair of very good guards who lead their team.

#2 BYU will face #6 San Diego State.

Our next opponent, Mississippi State is 27-7 and have a talented roster with a rating of 93. They are completely healthy and they have a very talented starting 5 and have some very good bigs coming off the bench:

JR SF Jake Morkeliunas leads their team. He is a 6'6 213 pound player from Georgia who is rated 88 overall. He's extremely fast, he can shoot well, and he's a good passer. His defense is above average but his offensive skills are his real strength. He's averaging 15.9 ppg, 5.4 rpg, and 2.8 apg. He was the 19th player in his class.

SO SG Dave Mance from Arkansas is a star in the making. He's 6'5 192 and is rated 85 overall. He was the 12th player in his class. He is one of the top 3 outside shooters in the country. He's averaging 16.3 ppg and 2.1 apg.

SR C Ellis Shields is 6'10 290 and is rated 85 overall. He's got a devastating post game using his strength/size to manuever inside, but he can also make the 10-12 foot shot fairly reliably. His defense is below average. He's averaging 14.4 ppg and 8.0 rpg.

JR PF Roger Farrell is 6'10 150 and is rated 83 overall. He was the 36th player in his class. He is a very good midrange shooter who can defend well also. He's averaging 12 ppg and 5 rpg.

SO PG Alexander Muhammed runs this high powered offense with precision. He's a great passer and a very good 3 point shooter. He has tremendous ball handling skills. He's averaging 6.9 ppg and 6.6 apg.

FR PF Ellis Zimmerman leads their bench. He's 6'9 240 and is rated 81 overall. He's averaging 3.6 ppg and 4.4 rpg in 15 mpg.

SO F Cruz Prince also plays a lot for them. He's 6'8 230 and is a solid midrange shooter. He's averaging 7.2 ppg, 4.0 rpg and 19 mpg.

FR PG Deron Mbyirukira is a superstar of the future. He's 6'2 171 and is rated 81 overall. He has elite speed, very good ball handling, and an excellent 3 point shot. He was the 3rd player in his class this past year. He's averaging 6 ppg and 1.7 apg in just 9 mpg.

The rest of the bench are all sophomores and juniors who are all rated in the very high 70's with the exception of one PF who is rated 73 overall.

This should be an interesting match-up.

#10 seed Ole Miss is 21-10. They went 8-8 in conference play. They have a roster rating of 88. They are missing their starting PF who has a broken bone in his foot and is done in the tourney. They rely heavily on their guards who are very good players:

SR PG Alex Owensworth is 6'1 165 and is rated 85 overall. He is a very good outside shooter and a good ball handler. His defense is top notch. He is averaging 13.4 ppg, 4.5 rpg, and 4.1 apg.

SR SG Ridley Joseph is 6'4 218 and is rated 85 overall. He is a dynamic scorer who can slash or shoot well. His defense is just average. He's averaging 17 ppg, 5.5 rpg, and 2.5 apg.

SO SF Jay Grafs is 6'7 200 and is rated 80 overall. He is an excellent 3 point shooter but is not good in many other areas. He is averaging 8 ppg and 1.2 rpg in 19 mpg.

FR PF/C C.C. Park moves into the starting lineup at PF for them. He is 6'8 238 and is rated 75 overall. He is averaging 2.7 ppg and 2.1 rpg.

FR C D'Or McDonald has been starting at C for them all year long. He's 6'10 250 and is rated 75 overall. He's averaging 3.9 ppg and 3.3 rpg and only playing 15 mpg as they often go small.

The bench is led by JR PG Jeremiah Porter who is 6'1 170 and is rated 83 overall. Hes averaging 9.4 ppg and 3.0 apg.

JR PG Larry Bird is 5'10 168 and is rated 81 overall. He's averaging 4.2 ppg and 1.8 apg.

JR PG Lincoln Koffi is 6'4 215 and is rated 80 overall. He's averaging 5 ppg and 1.2 apg.

The rest of the bench is rated in the low 70's.

There is no size on the bench. The only two guys over 6'8 are starting.

SO PF Larson who is injured is 6'11 240 and was averaging 11.7 ppg and 7.1 rpg.

I'll play them later today.

#3 North Carolina beat #4 Texas Tech 82-62 to advance from the West. They will be our opponent.

#3 Oregon beat #1 UConn 76-74 to advance from the South. They will play #2 seed BYU which upset #1 Nebraska 71-69.

North Carolina finished the year 28-7 (13-3.) They are a talented team with a rating of 92. PF is their only relative weakness in the starting 5:

JR SF Adam McNamara is the most talented player on the roster. He is 6'5 239 and is rated 87 overall. He is an excellent athlete who is a good shooter. His defense is at a very high level. He is averaging 11.9 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 1.1 spg, and 1.0 bpg.

SR PG Atwan Pearson has a high court IQ. He is 6'3 214 and is rated 85 overall. His ball handling is excellent. His shooting is just average. He is averaging 9.1 ppg, 3.4 apg.

SR SG Ian Novakovic is 6'4 211 and is rated 83 overall. He is a very good slashing guard who is just an ok shooter. Defensively, he is solid. He is averaging 6.3 ppg and 4.5 rpg.

SO PF J.D. Adingono has great size at 7'0 240 but he is a bit slow at PF and has very little offensive ability. He does provide solid rebounding and decent defense. He's averaging 3.7 ppg, 5.2 rpg, and 1.4 bpg in just 16 mpg.

SR C Alton Barrett is 6'8 260 and is rated 86 overall. He's got killer post moves and some touch from 8-10 feet. He''s averaging 21.1 ppg, 6.4 rpg, and 1.7 bpg.

The bench is led by SR PG Damion Knox who gets a lot of PT at both PG and SG. He is 6'4 220 and is rated 85 overall. He's averaging 6.5 ppg and 3.1 apg in 15 mpg.

The rest of the bench is rated in the mid to high 70's.

I'll play them tomorrow.

15:50 - We come out playing our best basketball of the year! Great team defense, great offensive execution. We are up 14-0 before McNamara beats Kabba on a backdoor cut and Vega fouls him.

13:54 - Kabba with a drive gets a 2nd foul on Pearson. We lead 19-5.

8:14 - They are on a run. We are up 22-14. I bring in the entire 2nd unit: Moss, Annen, Kilgore, Fuller, and Abdur-Rahim.

Halftime: We lead 43-24.

Kabba is the player of the half with 10 points.

Annen with 8. Farrell with 6. Badu with 5 assists. Moss with 4 assists.

12:28 - NO! Farrell hurts his ankle on a block attempt. He limps off the court. We are up 50-32 as defense has dominated this half.

9:52 - That injury seems to have fired up my team. We up the intensity and run off a quick 10-0 run before they call time. We lead 60-32.

8:30 - Time to pull my starters. We lead 64-32. I may need Annen to start next game, so the lineup to finish it will be Moss, Kilgore, Hehn, Wolfe, and Abdur-Rahim.

We win the game 77-47. Best defense I've seen from my team all year long.

Kabba is the player of the game with 15 points, 3 boards, 2 assists, and 1 steal. He shot 5 of 9.

Badu with 4 points, 9 assists, 3 boards, 2 steals, and 2 blocks.

Farrell with 10 points, 2 boards, 2 assists, and 2 blocks.

Stevens with 7 points, 6 boards, 2 steals, and a block.

Vega with a quiet night - 6 points, 8 boards, 1 assist, 1 steal, and 1 block.

Annen led the bench with 13 points, 2 boards, and 1 assist.

Abdur-Rahim with 6 points, 4 boards, and 2 assists.

Moss with 2 points, 9 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks.

Kilgore with 7 points, 3 boards, and 1 steal. Wolfe with a career high 7 points and 3 boards in just 8 minutes.

Now to get the injury report on Farrell and find out who we are playing in the National Championship Game.

Farrell suffered a severe high ankle sprain that will keep him out. Annen will start for us at SG. The walk-on Cox may actually get some playing time..

BYU beat Oregon 71-65 to advance to play us. BYU has a 34-4 (13-3) record. They have a 91 team rating. They are completely healthy and they have a strong 9 man rotation:

JR PG Keith Went is the weakest of their starting 5. He is a 6'2 190 pound PG from Arizona. He is rated 80 overall. He is averaging 3.7 ppg and 1.3 apg in 12 mpg. They will go mostly with their top 2 SG/PG off the bench.

JR Marko Summers is their best player and one of 3 very good SG's on their roster. He is 6'7 200 and is from Washington. He is rated 86 overall. He is averaging 5.8 ppg and 2.6 rpg in just 19 mpg as he tends to get into foul trouble.

FR SG Karl Summers is their top guard off the bench and one of the best freshmen I've ever seen. He is 6'6 200 and is rated 86 overall as well. He is averaging 9.5 ppg, 4.6 rpg, and 3.9 apg in 28 mpg. He was the 14th ranked player last year.

JR SG Benjamin Chen is their other top guard off the bench. He's 6'6 205 nad is rated 84 overall. He is a very good 3 point shooter. He's averaging 9.3 ppg in just 16 mpg.

SR SF Nik Ziri starts despite these talented guards. He is a 6'7 226 pound wingman from Colorado. He is a good midrange shooter and is just slightly above average in every other area. He is rated 80 overall. He is averaging 9.9 ppg and 2.5 rpg.

JR PF Ugonna Sato is 6'7 222 and is rated 82 overall. He is a rugged defender for his size. He's averaging 6.3 ppg, 3.9 rpg, and 1.7 bpg. He is from Provo, UT.

SR C Erik Merchant is also from Provo. He is 6'10 249 and is rated 82 overall. He's a very good defender. He's averaging 8.6 ppg, 4.8 rpg, and 1.6 bpg.

The next two top bench players are both C's.

JR Grant Fitch is 6'10 210 and is rated 80 overall. He gets pushed around easily. He is averaging 4.2 ppg and 2.4 rpg in 10 mpg.

SR C Reece Cohen is 6'10 270 and is rated 80 overall as well. He is from Santa Clarita, CA. He is a good shot blocker and has nice post moves. He's averaging 8.7 ppg, 5.2 rpg, and 1.5 bpg in 20 mpg.

The rest of their bench is rated in the high 70's.

I'll play them later today.

Will we be partying on Bourbon Street (Final Four is in New Orleans this year) tonight? Our guys think so.

19:17 - I wouldn't have put money on Stevens being the first to score, but he gets an offensive rebound and putback for the first points of the game.

18:02 - Ziri with an offensive rebound and putback for their first points. We lead 5-2.

Annen is missing the open shots early.

15:40 - Every one of my players now has 1 foul. We are tied at 7. Vega with 4 points early.

15:20 - Vega picks up a stupid 2nd foul. Abdur-Rahim into the game. We lead 10-7.

12:30 - Kabba making up for last year with the game of his career so far.. We lead 20-10 but Badu just picked up his 2nd foul. Moss into the game at PG.

9:30 - Annen picks up his 2nd foul. Kilgore in for Annen. Fuller in for a tired Stevens. We lead 26-17.

7:20 - Their ability to get to the FT line and convert are keeping them in it. We lead 30-22. After doing everything early, Kabba is scoring like crazy with Annen, Vega, and Farrell all out.

4:30 - Fuller picks up his 2nd foul. Stevens back into the game. We lead 40-26 as Kabba continues to score at a career high pace. He's doing it with every type of play - drives, post-up moves, and 3's. He's also continued to play great defense.

The last 4 minutes their 3 point shooters heated up. Kilgore hit a 3 at the buzzer for us to end the half.

Halftime: We lead 51-39.

Kabba is the unquestioned player of the half - 23 points, 4, boards, 2 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks. He shot 7 of 14, 3 of 7, and 6 of 7.

Stevens and Vega with 6. Abdur-Rahim with 5. Annen with 4 as he shot 1 of 6 in the half.

Will Kabba be able to keep it up in the second half? Can we put them away?

19:14 - Annen picks up a cheap 3rd foul. He'll remain in the game for now.

16:02 - Badu picks up his 3rd foul but will also remain in the game for now. We lead 58-47.

Kabba with a block and then a breakaway dunk. Kabba with a 3. Amazing night for him.

12:00 - We lead 70-50.

Kabba with a steal and breakaway dunk. Tremendous endurance from him but he is clearly tiring.

9:30 - We lead 79-54. I decide to rest Kabba. Kilgore into the game.

5:00 - Time to empty the bench. We lead 89-60. Vega and Stevens did very well down the stretch and Annen hit a few shots as well. The lineup for the next 2-3 minutes will be: Moss, Kilgore, Hehn, Fuller, and Abdur-Rahim. After that, I'll get Cox and Wolfe into the game as well.

3:22 - Moss and Hehn with a 2-on-1 fastbreak.. Moss draws the defender.. quick lob to Hehn for a huge alley-oop! We lead 96-60.

1:50 - Time to get Cox and Wolfe into the game.

We win the National Championship! 100-63.

Kabba is the player of the game with 37 points, 7 boards, 2 assists, 4 steals, and 3 blocks. He shot 12 of 20, 4 of 8, and 9 of 10.

Badu finished with 0 points, 9 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks.

Annen with 13 points, 4 boards, 1 assist, and 1 steal.

Stevens with 11 points, 5 boards, 1 assist, and 3 steals.

Vega with 12 points, 5 boards, 1 assist, and 1 block.

Abdur-Rahim with 9 points and 9 boards. Kilgore with 11 points and 2 boards.

Moss with 0 points, 4 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block. Fuller with 2 points and 5 boards. Hehn with 5 points and 1 board. Wolfe with a board.

Very happy to have my 2nd championship at USC. This team was the team that had to do it, as I have a feeling next year we'll be very thin if all of the guys I suspect are going early actually do so.

Wow. Only 1 player left early, Jeromy Abdur-Rahim. Everyone else is returning for another run at it!

Kabba is selected 1st overall. Dawson, Vega, and Abdur-Rahim all go in the lottery.

No one else leaves the team via the draft. Is anyone going to transfer?

No. Everyone is happy to stay despite some of them being unhappy about their playing time last year.

Time for recruiting. I hadn't seriously pursued any centers but with Abdur-Rahim declaring early, I try to make a late run at Armando Muhammed, the #2 Center in the nation. He's a 4 star from Bloomington, IN. He's leaning towards DePaul or Indiana.

We are too late on him. He signs with DePaul.

The one guy I had been going after all year, SF C.B. Brower isn't that impressed with our championship - he wants PT and he is going to Stanford.

DePaul has put together an amazing class. They have signed the #1, #15, #24, and now #69 player in the nation.

Washington also has another very impressive class with the #13 player and #18 player highlighting it.

I had to remind myself that I did sign Rylan Prillman, the #4 Center in the nation earlier in the year. He has a good shot to start and English should provide depth (and may even start.)

No other recruits seem worth a scholarship. I hold the rest of my scholarships and plan on getting a big haul this upcoming year when PT should look a bit more attractive.

DePaul with the #1 Class. They signed 3 5 stars and 2 4 stars.

Others in the top 10:

UConn, Texas A&M, Washington, Fordham (!?!), FSU, Rutgers, Syracuse, Alabama, and Texas.

Time to take a look at the returning team! We are the Pre-season #1 team and I can see why. The team looks very good again.

PG is strong thanks to the slightly surprising decision by Marcellus Badu to return for his JR year. Badu had a strong offseason and is now 6'5 216 and rated 88 overall. His combination of size, speed, strength, quickness, and vision makes me think he has a legit shot at making the All-American team, especially since he has really improved his shooting this offseason.

Walk-on PG Domonic Cox is the only other "PG" on the roster, but Moss will likely get 1st crack at backing up Badu. Cox could do it if needed though. He is 6'3 209 and is rated 81 overall. His best attribute is his speed.

At SG, we have my favorite player in a while and my favorite freak of nature:

SR SG Arzelle Farrell has a legitimate shot to put up 20 plus points and be on the All-American team. He's rounded out his defense and his 3 point shooting is now up to 96. He also has developed much better quickness and is a real threat to take it the hoop. Also, his passing has become much improved. He's rated 88 overall now. He's still 6'7 214.

Connally Moss is the only returning player who didn't improve his overall at all during the offseason. That is concerning. However, he has put on 10 pounds of muscle and is now 6'9 247 and still has amazing quickness/speed and passing for his size. His shot is still worthless, but he should be a reliable post presence and passer. He'll be the primary back-up at both PG and SG at least early in the year.

SF is undoubtedly our strongest position. Annen's return was truly the most surprising of the group:

RS SR Leo Annen comes back to the team rated 92 overall. He's 6'8 207. He's got a tremendous first step. He can block shots well. He can defend well. He can shoot the outside shot well. No real weaknesses. He'll start at SF.

RS SO SF Kody Hehn is now 6'11 232. He's rated 85 overall. He can play the 3, 4 or 5 as he has proved. He'll get plenty of PT this year. His best improved attribute is his shooting.

RS SO SF Devon Kilgore is now 6'9 219 and is rated 83 overall. He's improved in every area of the game and has become a more dangerous scoring threat.

We also have a walk-on SF from Mali who is interesting. Ibrahim Sylla is 6'5 197 and is rated only 69 overall but he has tremendous speed. We'll redshirt him and see if we can mold him into a contributor over the years.

PF is another position of great strength:

SR PF Desmond Steves is now 6'9 240 and is ready to have another great year. He's rated 88 overall and his defense will keep him the #1 option. However, he has also developed some nice post moves and a midrange shot.

SR A.C. Fuller is now 6'9 225 and is rated 88 overall as well. I've felt bad for him as he has never got the PT that he deserves. I'll try to get him more this year. His post game should make him a real scoring threat this year.

SO PF Allan Wolfe is 6'8 260 and is rated 82 overall. He's slower than the other guys and has been a bit of disappointment. His best attribute is his rebounding.

C is our weakest position and the only one where I have a tough choice about who to start:

Walk-on SR C Duane English has developed into a very good option. He's 7'0 250 and he's rated 81 overall. In his one extended game last year, he had some very nice stats. He is the best rebounder on the team. He is a good passer for a big man. He can dunk well.

FR C Rylan Prillman is now 6'10 230 and is rated 76 overall. His ceiling is much higher. He's also a very good rebounder. His defense is solid and he's also a good passer for a big man. He's slower than English.

I think that with so many surprise returnees, I owe it to them to start the walk-on who is more ready to play this year.

We also got 2 walk-on FR C in the mix for the future:

Jeffrey Blankenship is from Richmond, CA. He's a 6'9 230 pound C who is rated 68 overall. He actually has the best post game of any center on my roster.

FR C Uche Adeife is from Nigeria. He's 7'1 250 and is rated 66 overall. He's a slow plodding center who has a ton of weaknesses.

I have 7 scholarships to fill this year. There are tons of great options out there. I'll look at them later today.

Congrats on the great season. It was really impressive how you chewed up teams along the way while continuing to play through injuries.

Do you expect this years team to be as good as last year, given the surprise returnees?

Have there been repeat champions yet in your NCAA universe?

Where do you rank on career victories at this point?

Thanks. All of those are good questions. Unfortunately, I don't believe the game has a career victories tracker for CPU coaches or a list of past NCAA champions. I can see all of the conference champions, but not NCAA champions as far as I can tell. I did find a cool screen that I didn't know about where I can see my career records with player's names which is cool (there is another screen where it gives just numbers.)

One thing I did realize from my own history sheet is that I've been to the NCAA Championship game 3 times in a row now. I think this team has a good chance to make it 4. We have very good team unity, 96 overall rating, and a bunch of great players. C is the only position I'm worried about, but I think I have enough options there even if we have injuries. We won't be rolling over teams as easily, but I think we can beat anyone at any time.

The early recruiting has not been going well. I thought more star type players would be interested, but none of them seem to have us in their top 2. Most of the best players have us as their 3 or 4th choice.

Our first game of the year is in the Polar Bear Tip Off Classic. Our first opponent is TCU. They are 1-0 with a roster rating of 82. Their top player is SR C Lonnie Pippen who is 7'0 270 and is rated 78 overall. Their PG, Michael Baskauskas is a good 3 point shooter who is 5'10 166 and is rated 77 overall. The rest of their starting 5 is in the mid 70's. The bench is all rated in the 60's. I'll play them tomorrow.
