2015 NFL Week 2

Getting fired up. Home opener in front of one of the best home field advantages in the NFL against the hated Broncos. It doesn't get any better than that!

If KC doesn't win by at least a TD, I'll be surprised.

If Manning doesn't have a better game than he did against the Ravens, it'll be a blowout.

Yeah, even being so early on in the season, I don't like Manning on short rest following how he played W1.

I am expecting a big game from Von Doom and our other three edge rush backers and the oline and running game taking off. The days of the 400 yards passing are over in Denver with a new offense. Manning is just a game manager at this point. It will be interesting to see how KC's CBs Peters and Gaines matchup with Sanders and DT.

Haven't the Broncos won 5 straight in Kansas City?

edit: I guess it is 6 straight overall, and 5 out of 6 in KC.

Why wouldn't he have had the team doctors check out that thing the day after it happened. That dude's off man.

I wonder why he wasn't asking the Giants to send him the tender offer paperwork for him to sign before he was admitted to the hospital.

1) I think the Manning is finished crowd is getting just a bit too excited. I also think this is a horrible matchup at a horrible time for him. The KC D is damned good at rushing the passer. The Broncos O-Line still hasn't had time to gel.

2) KC is deeper this year and can withstand more injuries. For the first time in a long time, I actually think they are a threat.

3) That said, my belief is based off of roster moves and not week one. Week one was very similar to past KC victories. Destroy a crappy QB, get two TD's off of turnovers and then hold on because the offense can't put the team away.

4) I LOVE Eric Berry. Great story, loved him as a player before the cancer, love him even more now.

5) This is the KC Super Bowl for the regular season. Denver loses and it proves NOTHING. (see NE last year in KC) KC cannot lose this game if they want to be serious contenders in the AFC West.

6) For me, this game comes down entirely to the Denver offensive line. The Denver defense is going to bring it all year. It is going to be ridiculous. They'll get torched in a game or two because that's what offenses do. . . but it won't happen often. I don't expect it to happen tonight.

That said, if the O-Line is as bad as it was last week (and I expect them to be that bad), Denver simply isn't moving the ball. KC will get enough turnovers and points to grab a 17-6 win if that's the case. If the offensive line can generate even a little running game and allow Manning time to attack the young CB's? Denver can win this game.

We may not see a dumber goal line series all year. What does Denver do well? Rush the passer. So you get the ball first down and goal on the 3 yard line and you go into a 0 back offense?

Run the ball, call play action, use some motion. All of it was working on that drive. I had pretty much written this off as 7-0 KC and was waiting for Charles to run it in. I saw him go out wide and smiled a big smile. I figured it would only be a FG. Instead a turnover and Broncos ball.

Thanks Andy.

I beg to differ. The Giants goal line series at the end of the game last week has already wrapped up that award for the year.

Why, oh why, didn't Kubiak take the points there in an obvious defensive battle?

Gotdamn this Denver Oline is horrrrrrrrible. Kubiak ain't helping. I guess the fact that Kubiak took offensive control away from Manning shoulda been a bad sign. Manning may have a noodle arm these days, but he certainly knows how to run an offense, and taking all that shifting/audibling he does at the line away from him seems like playing against his strengths, and handicapping your QB & team in service of the coach's ego.

Holding prior to the snap, on the defense?

That's a new one.

Too early to say Manning is done? He can barely get any zip on his 10 yard throws

Definitely one of the worse passes I've ever seen him throw. He has zero zip on the ball and I know that pass didn't go where he wanted it to go.

Time catches up to everyone. I wish he would've walked away before this point, however.

I dunno, there were at least 3 on that drive that were awful. The one with the holding call and the completed pass to Thomas with nobody within 10 yards. He just looks shot.

He's too slow now to run an offense from under center.

So some how Elways buddy Kubiak has found a away to turn the most prolific offense in NFL history into the Army offense from 1918:-(

As long as Manning throws the ball 8-12 yards and inside the hash marks, he's deadly.

I've always wondered about playing your DB's 8-10 yards off the ball when you're down on the goal line?

I have zero clue what the Chiefs are doing on D. If Manning can throw a ball over 20 yards to the outside maybe you start being worried but right now this should be easy, sit on the short and intermediate routes and you might have four picks by now

It really is pretty hard to believe he took the reigns from Peyton.

Just because he doesn't have much of an arm doesn't mean he still doesn't have his best weapon still working just fine.

It does seem odd that Elway allowed that to happen.

Considering the connection with Kubiak, it makes you wonder if Elway wasn't motivated by thinking that it would give Elway himself more input/control over the offense, even if indirectly.

You get a gift INT and start playing for the FG with 7 minutes left? Denver deserves to lose.

You have a RB averaging 2 yards per carry and a QB struggling to throw the ball 10 yards accurately. Tough to do anything else.

I wonder if this the lowest YPC and YPA of Peyton's career? I'm amazed there has only been the one pick, they've flat out dropped at least three more

Been a rough night for Manning. Though, if I'm the Chiefs, I'm not feeling too much better with how Alex Smith has performed.

Slant routes? Crossers? With the RB as a checkdown? Let the athletes get out in space and give you some YAC.

I'll also never understand why teams who can kick off from the 50 choose to boot it thru the end zone. Even if you don't want to go all the way and onside kick it (with the opponent still starting inside their 40), your kicker has to be able to pooch kick better from there off a tee.

I just mentioned to my girlfriend as the Broncos took over with 2:30 left and down 24-17 this was the first time in a football game in this situation I felt there was no chance of the offense driving the ball for a score
