January 2008:
Oscar nominations are handed out, and I spend $5 million promoting my movies.

I Was a Teen-Age Bagboy has completed shooting.

No Fortune Cookie Fortune has begun shooting.

Revolution is still in need of a lot of work.

Hindenburg is starting to look like a good script.

Cosmo 2: Return to the Forest's first draft comes back not so good and gets sent right back out.

I decide to cast Free Passage. I decide to shoot on location in Africa, doing interiors on location with significant set construction. I budget $30 million for physical costs and $5 million for pyrotechnics.

Robert DeNiro, Johnny Depp, Tom Hanks, and Juliette Lewis express interest in the movie. I immediately tell DeNiro "fat chance", after all the problems he caused on the set of Smokey and the Bandit. Also, I'm not sure I could see Hanks in this type of role.

I usually try for 5, but if a script is at 4 stars and has good ratings across the board, I'll green light it. The only exception to that was Graveyard Shift 2.

I am resurrecting this dynasty. My goal for Part II(January 2008 - beyond) is to bring the studio out of the crippling financial problems that I put it in in Part I(January 2005 - December 2007).

As of the end of January 2008, the Wynsok Entertainment has -357,569,000 in cash.

Oh, yes it is. It was the first script I put into production. After countless rewrites, set problems, and delays, it was very rewarding to see it do so well. Especially since it cost me nearly $300 million dollars.

This seems to be the summer of maligned pictures from my studio. Coming up this month is Ice Palace which has gone through several delays and cost increases itself. Without the advertising and print costs, it's already cost me $200 million dollars. It's gonna have to have numbers near or above Poseidon to make me any money.

I'm also considering a sequel to the Poseidon Adventure. Though I think a remake of Beyond the Poseidon Adventure won't go over too well.

Yeah, and I'm kinda disappointed about it. I mean, I wanted it to do well, but not as well as it did. I just wanted it to turn a profit and it ended up with something completely unrealistic. I was okay with Poseidon because it was only slightly higher than the #2 film ever, where as Ice Palace blew everything out of the water.

True, but Ice Palace could be the start of some cult-like behavior/following, ala Star Wars and Star Trek.

Free Passage has been given an R rating and is Ready for Release. It scores a 99% with audiences. I decide to make this the centerpiece of our 2009 summer campaign, releasing it in June.

Rock Me Amadeus is still an awful script.

Broken Trust isn't coming along so well.

Vesuvius is close to being the greatest script of all time.

Burnin' Rubber has gone into Production.

Gun is nearing completion.

Down at Any Cost still needs a lot of work.

Cove of the Dead goes back out.

Fire at Dawn also needs work.

Meryl Streep visits me and pitches an action adventure called Lights Out. It's about an evil billionaire who holds the countries power companies hostage. The script is awful, so I respectfully decline.

I purchase the rights to the novel, The Last Pharoah.

I purchase the rights to the screenplay Lies.

I spend $7 million promoting my movies.

Delays on the set of Revolution have put it behind schedule. I allow $2 million to get it finished.

Cosmo 2: Return to the Forest has been given a G rating and is Ready for Release. It scores a 93% with audiences. I decide on an August 2009 release.

Vesuvius is so close to being the script that I want it to be that it's maddening.

Gun didn't progress like I'd hoped.

Down at Any Cost is still having script problems.

Cove of the Dead goes back out.

Fire at Dawn has a great script with dreadful character development.

Graveyard Shift 3 is ready to be cast. I decide to shoot on the Main Street, USA backlot, doing interiors on sound stage 20 with average set construction. I allow $10 million for physical costs and $3 million for standard special effects.

Lies still needs a touchup.

Producer Don Carmody dies.
