Football Mogul 2011
So it looks like it'll be released in a few days. What are your expectations? What did you think of FM10? I have read it has a lot of big holes, but maybe the '11 version comes through.
Im guessing im not the only one here looking for a single-player football sim to replace FOF. Could Football Mogul 2011 be the stuff? Here's a link hinting the release: Football Mogul 2011 |

That Mogul franchise definitely has some longevity if nothing else - they've been around what, 13-14 years now?
I wouldn't put too much hope in FM10 replacing FOF, but apparently DDS:Pro Football will be in the production queue again once Wolverine's basketball game is released, that's a bigger contender, probably. |

I gotta admit, I chuckle at the added feature of "400% faster simulation speed."
By the time the 2012 version goes plaid, I suspect Mogul will surpass FOF by reaching ludicrous simulation speed. Last edited by RedKingGold : 08-31-2010 at 09:26 AM. |

Seems like they're really pushing the speed angle of it. I don't know that I'd have a review blurb from a website called maximumawesome.com on there, though.
I still don't see Football Mogul as even coming in the same general atmosphere as FOF. It might be okay for the casual gamer crowd, but that's probably about it.

As underrated and fun a game Baseball Mogul is, Football Mogul is a steaming pile of rottweiler poop. I got last years version just for shits and giggles and because of how much fun i'd had with BBM and it was sincerely just the drizzling shits.

Fool me once, shame on you.
Fool me twice, shame on me. ...how many more rounds can you carry out the old saying? Seriously, how many versions of this game have there been, each one accompanied by someone breathlessly predicting that *this time* they are going to turn the corner and create a game that I might actually enjoy? I don't usually run to the lowbrow side of things, but I can't come up with any descriptive term for this product that doesn't get into the excretory realm... so I guess Suicane gets my proxy here. |

If you bought it for shits and giggles, and it was a steaming pile of drizzling rottweiler shit (combining the two phrases), then I guess you got your money's worth?

Totally agree with you except for the steaming part. By the time I received the game it was no longer steaming, it was more along the lines of week old shit at that point. |

To be serious though, anyone who tries FM wouldn't give BM a second look, which I think does a big disservice to their company.

What is amusing is they still haven't updated the screenshots, so they still include this gem from last year which has the 49ers playing the Falcons 3 times in one year. Gotta love the attention to detail.

Football Manager demands that you never refer to Football Mogul as FM ever again.

I'll be sure to follow that protocol once Missouri and Miami stop using the UM moniker.

I love the Baseball Mogul series so I bought Football Mogul 2010 thinking it may be similar. I hated it. I've played maybe two dyntasies with the game. None lasting more than 5 seasons.

Please stop using "FM" to describe anything but Football Manager...
Its somewhat blasphemous in this case as well.

Shrug. I've never referred to Missouri as UM. It's either "Missouri" or "Mizzou" as far as I'm concerned. It's always confused the hell out of me when other sources HAVE used 'UM' for Missouri. |

I just looked at the screenshot for the first time. Holy crap. You can tell the game sucks just by looking at the scores and basic stats. |
