CL's Best Rookie Picked
Saturday, November 14th, 2161: The top rookie in the Continental League was Halifax catcher Tim Durham. He impressed voters so much that they named him the 2161 Benny Myers Rookie of the Year Award recipient.

Durham put up some pretty fair numbers, including a .293 batting average and .388 on-base percentage, while racking up 28 home runs, 90 RBIs and 103 runs scored.


Republic League Winner Announced
Saturday, November 14th, 2161: It was a lot of headlines and highlights for Hartford second baseman Rick Plummer in his first season in the Republic League. It was annonced today that the 24-year-old was voted the top newcomer and had earned the Benny Myers Rookie of the Year Award.

Rick Plummer collected 184 hits, 1 home run, 62 RBIs, 46 walks and 75 runs scored. He hit .327 and had a .397 on-base percentage.

Apex Hurler Wins CL Gabriel Prado Award
Monday, November 16th, 2161: The Apex clubhouse staff referred to him as "the kid" this season. Next year Ramón Gonzáles will have to have a new nickname. He earned it after winning the 2161 Continental League Gabriel Prado Award.

Gonzáles made 33 starts this year, winning 19 and losing 2. He threw 201.2 innings, fanned 178, allowed 137 hits and 69 walks, while holding opposing teams to a .188 average as he logged an impressive 2.37 ERA.


RL Presents Top Pitcher Trophy
Monday, November 16th, 2161: Reginald Oprel of the Colorado Rancheros had a fine season and has been rewarded with the Republic League Gabriel Prado Award for 2161.

The Rancheros ace fashioned an ERA of 2.99 as he won 22 games, dropped 7, fanned 166 and gave up 36 walks in 243.2 innings of work.

Continental League Names Best Hitter
Tuesday, November 17th, 2161: What a way to finish off the year -- being honored with the 2161 Hideaki Tanaka Award in the Continental League. It had already been a very special season for Baltimore's Jesús Ramos, but today's announcement really put the icing on his cake.

All season long Jesús Ramos gave opposing pitchers fits by hitting .335 as he collected 206 hits, 37 doubles, 2 triples, 35 home runs and 107 RBIs.


2161 RL Top Hitter Trophy Given to Ray
Tuesday, November 17th, 2161: It's been a year of triumph for veteran Craig Ray of the Hammersmith Hooligans as he hit his way to the 2161 Republic League Hideaki Tanaka Award.

The 29-year-old veteran compiled a .310 average and .380 on-base percentage by putting together 205 hits, 38 doubles, 6 triples, 47 home runs and 68 walks. He also scored 122 times and drove in 143 runs.
