Desktop Baseball: Fast-sim baseball league

Desktop Baseball is a fast-sim league that operates on a six-day schedule. It's intended to be a GM league, meaning you focus on the higher level moves and leave the day-to-day roster tinkering to the Manager that you hire.

League HTML here.

This is a great league to have a second team where you can get the instant gratification of building and rebuilding a franchise often. Intended to be a low-key experience, nothing crazy or too intense.

I just can't really handle playing any other way. Once you get into fast-sim, it's really hard to do anything else. But it's not for everyone.

Read about it below and if you're intrigued, post here. Heading into the 7th season next week.

-----------------
A league with 12 teams and a 144-game schedule. One league of two divisions (18 games against teams in your division/9 against the teams in the other division)

Coaches are on, because the idea is that this is a GM-sim first, not a league aimed at who can tinker the best with their lineups, etc.

Development modifiers are based on SkyDog/RonCo settings and the player creation modifiers are based on Dark Cloud’s. Talent change randomness is set to 50. There is no DH rule.

Salary Cap is set to $75 million. You have to spend at least $5 million on player development, but you can allocate more of your cap towards that and if you do, you’ll see better prospects (no guarantee they’ll be any good, of course) enter your Academy team. You get allocated 5 academy players per off-season. The Academy roster cannot exceed 15 players.

The league schedule operates on a 6-day schedule:

Quote:
Day 1: Free Agency Period
Day 2: Spring Training Sim
Day 3: Season Sim
Day 4: Off-Day
Day 5: Post-season Sim
Day 6: Sim to start of FA

Each team has one minor league team and one academy team. Academy teams are developmental squads that you can invest some of your salary cap in, to invest in better prospects. After a player turns 18 must leave the Academy, they are either signed to a 3-year Academy contract ($625k per season) or get released.

Here are the teams:

Eastern Division
New York Gothams (taken)
Thunder Bay Storm
Kansas City Barons
Dallas Drifters (taken)
Providence Grays (taken)
Washington Potomacs

Western Division
California Whiskeyjacks
Virginia Dale Desperados
Salinas Roadrunners
Juarez Cachorros
Tupelo Moonshiners
Pocatello Bannocks (taken)
