I'm temporarily postponing the advance by 24 hours with the understanding that CraigSca will be able to claim his team after getting back into town, and Groundhog will be able to RE-claim his team under the proper PSN.

Well...I'm not really sure where Craig is, so I'm going to advance in a few minutes. I know there are several people in the league who can only play on weekends, and I don't want to wait around for more than half the weekend on the chance that Craig isn't going to show to begin with.

I don't think there any major drawbacks to not setting up your recruit board during preseason, for the benign fact that the CPU will do it for him anyway.

Week One

Navy @ Maryland (DaddyTorgo)
Western Kentucky @ Virginia (Bighouserulez)
Middle Tennessee State @ Wake Forrest (Groundhog)
Kent @ North Carolina State (BillJasper)
Eastern Michigan @ Duke (Sun Tzu)
unknown @ CraigSca (after he claims a team)

This week we have all CPU vs. Human games, which should make playing them relatively easy. It should be interesting seeing which teams are vying for the same recruits. This is cupcake week boys...so make it count!

Advance deadline is set for Thursday evening. In experience the weeks with no H2H games typically advance early. No rush though

Good luck, and most importantly, have fun!

Oops - sorry guys - just got back yesterday and didn't have a chance to check this out. Am I still invited?

I'll get on tonight, btw.

Craig, check your PM buddy. I sent you an invite via PSN, and sent you the league password via PM on here.

You're the one that expressed the most concern about how good (or bad) you are at the game, so you get to claim the only non B-/C+ team in Boston College. They're a full fledged B team...congrats! Heheh

Welcome back!

Sheesh, that was horrible.

Gave up 24 points in the first half, including a 74 yard fumble return, and couldn't move the ball. Played better in the 2nd half and didn't allow any more points, then with 8 seconds left it was 4-and-goal at the 1, down by a Field Goal. We decide to go for glory, and get stopped short, 21-24.

We had 2 drops that would've been TDs, and one overthrow that would've been an easy TD too.

Finished my game - I hope it reported. Beat a crappy FCS West team, but only managed to beat them, 38-7. That doesn't bode well.

Groundhog...ouch Why did you go for it? Didn't want to play for OT?

Craig...a win is a win.

I beat a very, very sorry Eastern Michigan team 30-3. They're about as bad as an FCS team, but my team is pretty crappy too. Our HB is half way decent, and our QB surprised me with some accurate passes, but our team is severely lacking in speed. It really cuts down on big plays.

We'd just marched all the way up the field in the wishbone, getting roughly 5 yards per carry, I figured I'd just bang it in no problems. D'oh.

Speaking of schedules - I will be away this week again between Tues and Thurs., and then I have a girl scout sleepover with my daughter on Friday. Sorry about that - my schedule should open up after this week.

My game was awful. I had no idea what to expect. We played well on defense and fumbled the ball 5 times. The Qb is terrible and I have no speed on offense at any position.

This is going to be a long season. We beat WKU 7 to 0 after converting on a 12 play drive in which we had to convert on 4th and 8 to get there.

O man..

Well...I think DT is the last one left. I haven't heard squat from him since the pre-season though. Hopefully he checks in here regularly.

Scratch that...we have two games left to be played. BillJ has at least been posting (take your time man...family is first), but DT is MIA.

Aaargh. Here I am.

Sorry - I haven't quite integrated checking this forum into my FOFC routine. Just keep reminding me hmm? Slap me around and shit.

Depending on how much I have to drink at this business dinner tonight I'm hoping to get my game in tonight and all. Then again, maybe being drunk will be an advantage. Hahaha.

Awesome

Yeah I know how hard it can be to incorporate a new spot into your daily FOFC rounds. Just takes some practice...and in your case some slapping...I guess. heh

If everyone has played their games by tonight, I should be able to advance by tomorrow evening around 10 EST. Unless there's some way to advance via the net (which I don't think there is).

I've been playing some practice games the past couple of days using the Wake Forest playbook. Takes some getting used to playing with such a run-orientated playbook, as in my single-player career I've been running with Hawaii and it's a rare occasion where I line up less than 4 WRs.

Hard faught victory by me over Navy last night. Gave up a safety on my first play from scrimmage (tried to down the kickoff in the endzone but my guy stepped out and didn't make it far downfield). After that gave up a FG, but then held them scoreless until a garbage-time TD when the game was out of reach.

I do play MP in two other leagues. I will say this is the worst team and playbook i really have to work at this one.

I use Houston's playbook in one league and Ole Miss in another.

Houston you are 3 or 4 wide all game. Ole Miss you have to have a stud TE and good rb.

I have a good CB and 2 good Olineman lol

Unfortunately you guys may have to go on without me. This issue probably isn't going to be 'resolved' (I know that sounds horrible ), for at least another week, week and a half. With the funeral and all and I won't have access to my PS3 for the duration.

Too bad this sounded like it was going to be fun.

Via the website I turned on the auto-pilot feature.

Hey man...no worries. You'll get back into it when your RL gets less complicated. That's definitely the priority. Our thoughts our with you in this difficult time.

Agreed in full. I have always said family comes first, and in a time like this it rings especially true. Take care of what you need to take care of, for as long as you need to, and your spot will be here waiting for you when you're ready.

Best wishes to you and your family Bill.

Hey, Groundhog, have you done your recruiting for the week? Let me know...I'll advance as soon as I hear back.

Works for me bud. I'll just advance in the morning when I get up (which is probably no different for everyone else than advancing now anyway).

It's not a big deal that you didn't have it done. After all, the deadline isn't until tomorrow night

question for you - in hth games are we using user catch? I noticed another league that stopped using it because it seemed to skew the results. Mind you, I'm such a loser at this game that I've NEVER used it - just wondering.

I noticed that the other leagues stopped it. I say we can use USER catch against the CPU, but not in H2H games. Our teams are so bad in this league, that any little edge we can get we should take. I expect we'll probably finish with a record of 6-6 at best.

I'm actually on leave from work for the next 2 weeks, so it should be easier to find a time. I'm pretty busy on Sat & Sun but my Monday is basically 100% free.

Oy...I have no idea if I'll be home on Sunday afternoon. Frankly, that all depends on if the Wife and Mother in-law have planned anything for my one Sunday off (meaning the 49ers have a bye week). I'll let you know hopefully by tonight, and we'll get this thing scheduled in concrete.

I've got birthday drinks tonight for a friend, so I'm thinking I'd be in no state for NCAA by the time I get home... But we'll see, if it's an early night I might be around at that time (and not too intoxicated )

Ugh - got beat by a horrible Kent State team, 17-14. 3 turnovers for BC, none for Kent State, but I have no excuse. The BC offense is stagnant, and it looks to get worse as the schedule gets more difficult. Might be time for a quarterback change as my sophomore starter (Shinskie) has a completion rate of 40%. May have finally found a running back (Sterlin Phifer, 8 carries for 77 yards and a TD), however. Just a bad game to watch

I plan on playing my game tonight. I was actually hesitant last night because i was not sure i could take the emotions of getting beat by 7 touchdowns against a pretty stacked USC team.....

Yeah...I don't envy you on this one man. I can't believe you play them in week 2. I typically lose by 50+ points against top ranked teams in my Eastern Michigan solo dynasty. It gets ugly...

Groundhog,

Is there any chance that you could play a bit earlier than 11am on Monday? 5pm on Sunday is right smack dab in the middle of "family time" for me, so the earlier the better. Let me know.

May have finally found a running back (Sterlin Phifer, 8 carries for 77 yards and a TD), however. Just a bad game to watch

If I had known that we were allowed to take BC I would have - that's my alma mater. Thought they were off-limits since they were a B.

But yes, the offense is a major struggle.

DT...Craig was allowed to take BC only because he was extremely vocal in his concerns that he wasn't nearly good enough to compete.
