2141 Best Fielder Awards Trophies Given out by CL
Thursday, November 16th, 2141: Good glovemen take pride in their defensive skills. They know they make a difference in baseball. Even on days when they don't get a hit, they feel they can make a difference in the field -- and they do. The Continental League announced its Best Fielder Awards honorees for 2141. This year's recipients are:

CL Top Newcomer Named
Friday, November 17th, 2141: Apex fans have reason to cheer today as first baseman Dave Coleman brought home the Continental League Benny Myers Rookie of the Year Award for 2141.

He put together a .292 batting average on the strength of 180 hits and swatted 22 home runs. He also racked up 102 RBIs and scored 89 runs, signaling that this might be the beginning of a solid baseball career.


Republic League Selects Best Rookie
Friday, November 17th, 2141: The Republic League's Benny Myers Rookie of the Year Award winner for 2141 is Greg Spence, the 24-year-old first baseman for the Toronto Marlboros.

He won the award by hitting .334 and collecting 182 hits, 25 home runs, 100 RBIs and 72 walks with 83 runs scored and a .416 on-base percentage.

Tokyo's Sonora Nets CL Gabriel Prado Award
Sunday, November 19th, 2141: The Gabriel Prado Award for 2141 has been presented and the Continental League winner is José Sonora of Tokyo.

"It's always nice to receive an award like this," said Sonora. "I just hope I can improve on my performance next year and be in the running again," the Cyclones star told reporters.

Sonora excelled with an impressive 17-7 record in 32 starts. In 243.1 innings he yielded 208 hits and 63 walks, while striking out 183 and compiling a fine 2.59 ERA.


Top RL Pitcher for 2141 Named
Sunday, November 19th, 2141: Hartford's Paco Sánchez took home the 2141 Republic League Gabriel Prado Award earlier today after a remarkable season on the mound.

With a record of 22-6, Sánchez was certainly a worthy winner. He made 32 starts and posted 232.1 innings, 150 strikeouts and a 2.91 ERA.

Cory Moore Named CL's Best Batter
Monday, November 20th, 2141: Cory Moore has plenty of options after winning the Continental League Hideaki Tanaka Award for 2141 today.

The soon-to-be free agent compiled a .308 batting average and a .391 on-base percentage this year while pummeling the opposition with 187 hits, 23 doubles, 6 triples, 46 home runs and 128 RBIs.


Gibson Selected RL's #1 Batter
Monday, November 20th, 2141: 2141 was a special season for Toronto left fielder Jason Gibson and it was capped off today with the announcement that he was named the winner of the Republic League Hideaki Tanaka Award.

Gibson compiled a .302 batting average and a .369 on-base percentage this year. In 162 games he piled up 214 hits, 29 doubles, 5 triples, 46 home runs, 127 RBIs and 140 runs scored.
