Celebrity HoN: Would You Rather? Sweet Sixteen (South/West)

Note: The Midwest/East Sweet Sixteen bracket can be found here.

With the Sweet Sixteen under way, we now move on to the South, which has been all chalk thus far, as well as the West, which was two lower seeded SI Swimsuit cover models looking to pull the upsets.

SOUTH

(1) Elisha Cuthbert vs. (4) Jessica Biel

Cuthbert entered the tournament as the top seed thanks to her, at the time, best overall HoN rating of 92%. She has proven that she still has plenty of support from the FOFC community with lopsided victories over both Katy Perry and Minka Kelly. The competition amps itself up a notch though in the Sweet Sixteen as she meets pending pollster Biel, who herself has walked through her first two opponents. In round one, Biel comfortably knocked off Alison Brie while having no trouble with Arianny Celeste in round two. This is the first real test for both ladies and don't be surprised if the fourth seeded Biel gives Cuthbert a run for her money as we will see who advances to the Elite Eight.

(2) Salma Hayek vs. (3) Olivia Wilde

It’s been a tough go of things for the bracket’s number two seed Hayek as she has had to earn hard fought victories over Jennifer Love Hewitt and a very close second round win over Kristen Bell, with the two victories coming by a combined 20 votes. By comparison, Wilde has 37 and 52 vote margins of victory over Emma Stone and Evangeline Lilly respectively. Wilde is a pending pollster, so we have no previous baseline, although her round two opponent Lilly, who Wilde disposed of easily, had an 81% HoN rating. That should make things interesting against Hayek, who herself carries an 87% HoN rating into the tournament. Could this be the end of the line for the veteran Hayek or will she continue her run of tightly contested victories into the Elite Eight?

WEST

(1) Jessica Alba vs. (13) Kate Upton

The top seed in the West has had little trouble disposing of her first two opponents in Hilary Duff and Rachel McAdams by large margins of victory, despite the support from some for both of her opponents. Upton meanwhile, barely snuck into the tournament but has since turned the general perception of her around, easily knocking off Carrie Underwood in round one and then earning a close fought victory over Sarah Shahi in round two. On paper, it’s difficult to give Upton any sort of chance in this matchup, considering her HoN score of 71% in 2011 while Alba scored a 90% in 2006. However, Upton has been hot as of late will be trying to turn her current tournament momentum into what would be the tournaments biggest upset thus far.

(2) Mila Kunis vs. (11) Marisa Miller

Like the other number two seeds before her, Kunis has not had an easy path to the Sweet Sixteen, earning victories over the popular Kaley Cuoco and Anne Hathaway. Kunis, who's 88% HoN rating is the second best score in the past five years, faces off with a surging challenger in Miller. The former SI cover model and at large selection has had unanimous support in victories over Susanna Hoffs and Halle Berry and thus far has the 4th highest amount of tournament votes in her favour, behind only Scarlett Johansson, Elisha Cuthbert and Jessica Alba. Some would call those two opponents easy matchups however, and Kunis is obviously much younger than Hoffs or Berry. But despite the large discrepancy in seeds, there is little doubt that this will be a very tight matchup.

Alba vs. Upton is easily the most interesting match up that I don't care for either one.

Early voting shows Cuthbert still holds her hotness up.

Went with Cuthbert (my fav in this group), Wilde, Alba, and Miller. Knew nothing about this Miller before hand, but the more she hangs around the more I like her. She won't get past Alba for me, but she is easy on the eyes.

Cuthbert, Wilde, Upton, and Miller here. Upton's obviously my fave by far in this bracket, but no shame if she loses to Alba.

Alba pulls ahead. Thank the maker.

I can't get past Upton's MLB 2K12 "Throw the most perfect game" line.

I just tied it up for Olivia. Come on people get it together, she's much hotter than Hayek.

I love Cutherbert and Beil That vote is like choosing which nut to cut off. I went with Biel in teh hopes of starting a comeback to make things close.

Still don't understand wtf you people see in Kunis. of these 8 women she comes in dead last for me. I wouldn't have let her out of the 2nd round.

just meh. 10 million girls like her in the USA, let alone the world.

I wish Alba and Upton werent against each other, Both are hotter than Hayek, Wilde, Kunis and that other girl I havent heard of. Biel / Cuthbert matchup is strong too.

Perhaps ... but "would you rather" does not imply any need for unique either

I've actually met Mila Kunis in person. She is not that hot in person. Very short and quite average looking.

No, she knew a person who I was with. So maybe not meet, but saw in person at a close range. I mean she's cute, but in person definitely not as hot as she looks in the movies. Doesn't have much in terms of curves and really short.

I think you can probably say this for most people. With all of the makeup/lighting control/retouches that go on in movies and photo shoots, nobody looks as hot in person.

I'm my younger days I actually took a shot at an acting career and got to the point of having an agent and headshots done. They put a ton of makeup on me for the photoshoot, but I was a sexy bastard that day. I'm rather plain without the makeup.

She is not in this bracket, but I have met Anna Kournikova in person... And she looks exactly the same in person. I imagine that is probably the same with all "athletes", since it would be very difficult to put a ton of makeup on and then play an active sport.

The voting on Hayek vs Wilde is as close as it can be! Too bad one of them has to lose here...

Agreed, there are not many "bad" candidates at this point but I'm pretty surprised to see Kunis being the one to take down Marissa Miller.

I'm not. Marissa has a great body, but celebs that look like her are a dime a dozen. I think the voting shows that people often go for the girl who has something different, or something sexy instead of just a banging body. We're not voting for page two girls here.

So the ordinary looking girl with an annoying voice over the model? Um, ok.
