Tiny car accident
I was in a little collision with another vehicle today. I backed up about a foot after dropping off my daughter at school, and tapped an SUV that had pulled up behind me a few seconds before. There was a very shallow dent the size of a nickle, and the guy gave me his card and asked me to email him my insurance info because he was in a hurry. The problem is that I've never been in an "accident" like this, and have no idea what to do. I'm afraid of calling my insurance company because I don't want to say something wrong and increase the cost of my policy by a large amount.
Any advice? (I haven't told my wife yet)

Ask him if he would get an estimate for the damage and write him a check/pay cash/whatever. It's going to be cheaper in the long run unless he tries to screw you over on the estimate. In which case you could tell your insurance company. He'll likely do it because he'd probably rather have the money for a dent he won't fix rather than get the fix paid for.

I hope you had a golf club in the back seat to rescue the guy.

Run inside your house and refuse to talk to the police.

Can you post pics? I want to see just how small your car is.
And how many clowns can you fit in it? |

+1 on the estimate advice. I wouldn't turn this in to your insurance under any circumstances. It likely won't even exceed your deductible.

Like every else has mentioned, avoid insurance unless the guy is trying to screw you over. Chances are if it is just a nickel size dent, the guy isn't going to get it fixed anyways and just pocket the money.

Sorry I'm late, but was your sister in the car with you? If so, is she OK?
