What about Ibaka and Harden plus filler for Dwight Howard as a trade. He's probably too special to want to play in OKC, but he'd be able to play with a real Center(Perkins) and 2 other special players. Until KD/Westbrook pull a Stringer/Avon moment.

He won't want to play in OKC and Orlando would never take a deal without Westbrook.

MVP- Kevin Durant. He hit a one-legged dirk-away in the preseason, hope he´s added more stuff with his back to the basket like that.

ROY- Kemba Walker
This is a crapshoot, i don´t see many rookies being big contributors at all. Williams f.e. imo won´t play much more than 20 minutes early on, many guys will need time to earn trust and the few players that will play heavy minutes i don´t really like to produce all that much.

"Takes his game to the next level" - James Harden as in "going to be the best/most important player on the court at times despite Durant/Westbrook" / Blake Griffin might be a 25/14/5 guy that also dominates in crunch time/ Danilo Gallinari

Surprise team- Denver/Indiana (i also think the TWolves will be decent, but in the west even that won´t mean more than a 11 seed)

#1 overall seed- Chicago (in a normal season i´d rank OKC highest, but they have less games against bad teams with so few cross-conference games)

Best team in other conference-OKC (young legs, hungry players, virtually same rotation, decent depth, in-shape Perkins = perfect for this schedule)

NBA Champ-Heat...

Biggest Flop Team-Lakers. Kobe will miss games for sure, Bynum missing 5 with suspension + x for injury, no security blanket in Odom anymore.

Highest win total-49

Lowest win total-15

Defensive POY-Howard (if he´s motivated ...)

6th Man- James Harden/Lamar Odom (Mavs will go small and Dirk will play less minutes)

Most improved- Marcin Gortat/Danilo Gallinari

Only corrected you because I thought it wasn't as serious as a broken foot, but it seems Lopez is going to miss significant time.

That's 6.8 rebounds per 40 minutes that the Nets are going to have to make up.

best news first : Hayes got cleared to play and signed a new contract with the Kings (for aparently more money even than on the first try), good for him

@ korme : More like "Yan" or "Yaan" me thinks

Looking forward to tomorrow allready Christmas with the family, then in the evening NBA.
FYI : League Pass has a free preview until (i think) Jan 6th, don´t know if that´s online only but definitely sth you guys should check out if you haven´t allready.
Hope they fixed a few kinks for our international version, was really good last year and with the shortened season propably even more usefull for me with the on demand option to catch up on a couple games/teams/players by browsing through them.

the league trimmed the suspension for Bynum and Villanueva from 5 to 4 games due to the shorter season...

Grizzlies Arthur officially out for the year, sucks for him and them. I still like the team, but loosing Battier and now their only credible big guy off the bench isn´t exactly good. And Haddadi (who didn´t look terrible towards the end of last season) still is waiting to get a visa and waits around in Dubai + the Grizz renounce his rights (to save money to sign Dante Cunningham...) meaning he is a unrestricted FA now.
Their primary backup for the 4 and 5 is Dante Cunningham now (all 220 pounds and 6 reb/36min of him) and next in line are Brian Skinner (35 years old, played 18 games the last 2 seasons) and a guy named Josh Davis who last was in the league in 2006 and was a bench player for mediocre teams in Europe.

If Gasol or Randolph miss time they are totally screwed and while Rudy Gay is pretty good (and looked great in preseason) they have no credible weak side shooting at all and really aren´t that deep.

I still think they are a solid playoff team, but i don´t see them challenging for a 2 or 3 spot like it has been suggested (and if healthy they´ll be better in the POs than the reg season just like last year)

Timberwolves waive Bonzi Wells. Nothing against him, but he sure would have been a sort of "so, who doesn´t fit in that picture" type of guy on that team.

I can´t wait to see Rubio play this year, the guy will be the best 7 PPG/<40% shooting PG together with Jason Kidd I sincerely hope the Timberwolves insist he improves his shooting and finishing, but also just let him play this year (early quotes from Adelmann go in that direction). There´s no way he isn´t a plus-player even at 35% because his passing and feel for the game is truly awesome and he will benefit from the NBA game/rules. It took everybody about 5 preseason minutes to realize that.

Also Kevin Love looks to be in amazing shape, that´s how you make good use of a lockout.

Dalembert is a good signing for the Rockets, will be interesting if that makes them a playoff team or not.

I really like the looks of the role players the Knicks grabbed to finish out their roster.

And the Celts are hurting if they gotta play Sasha Pavs big minutes.

Was going through Hollinger's player profiles and Brian Cardinal had a pretty remarkable season last year. He made 43 shots for the season. 42 of them were from three. Every shot he made last season was assisted.

James Jones would be pretty similar I'd hazard a guess. Don't know that I've ever seen him do much more than shoot open 3s off of kick-outs.

Miami just look crazy good right now, and the Mavs look old and rusty. That double-alley oop thing that just happened with LeBron and Wade was crazy.

Probably 5. Not sure anyone will get close to taking them to 7 games. Not going to see an upset of that magnitude happen again this year. They just have far more talent than anyone in the league and it's not even close.

Nice shot by Rose to win the game. But that was a walk from Deng that the refs missed out on horribly.

Oh NBA, it's like nothing changed. I have missed you so.

The first quarter was a little scary to watch but the Thunder defense looked really good for the final three quarters. Durant missing 5 free throws is a little worrisome. I hope that's just hiccup and not a sign of the lockout and a lack of practice affecting his free throw mechanics.

I guess no one stayed up for the Clips? Great start for them, beating the Warriors on the road by 19. It's not that the Warriors are a great team--they're not. But blow them out on the road to open the season? That's a good way to start.

Warriors hung tough for a little, but the better team prevailed. They just have no chance when Monta/Stephen are playing so poorly.

But I forgot how much I love watching Monta

saw it in stretches on replay today, they looked solid. Actually i was surprised how good they were outside of big plays/explosivnes, they actually looked to have some very good chemistry on both ends.

5 minutes into his reg-season debut Rubio just had 3 of the more impressive passes you´ll see within a minute or so. 3 times he literally passed a guy open that no one expected to get the ball.

Mavs in more trouble than i thought, down 25 again ...

Don't know about going deep, but they do have a nice deep rotation, so playoffs wouldn't shock me either. But they need a proper PG

Kyrie Irving had a pretty rough game today, mainly because his outside shot just wasn't dropping for him, despite getting some wide open looks. Tristan Thompson was pretty impressive however, I don't think the Cavs will regret that selection. Tries to dunk the ball every time he gets it around the hoop.

Ramon Sessions had a great night and the fact that Kyrie closed out the game despite it being winnable and him struggling big time shows me that the Cavs are quite happy to tank this year.

Flicked over to the Wolves game too, and yah, Rubio looks amazing. With that group of talent they are going to upset some teams this year.

Deandre Jordan impressed me, but overall I thought the Clips looked pretty unspectacular. Will take some time to get it all together of course, but I don't know about the Billups at SG thing they've got going on. For stretches Billups was just shooting it every time he caught a pass, with mixed results.
