It's intriguing indeed. They say it's a year away, but everything I read sounds great.

A little disappointing for me, but probably a wise move.

Now if they ever considered a football sim with an OOTP interface, it would be very difficult for me to turn away.

Will be all over this if it has college leagues, though I'll probably buy it anyway.

I guess if it has anything like the customizability of OOTP, adding college leagues shouldn't be too much of a stretch.

How has the OOTP series been lately? Do you still need to take a college course to figure out what's going on, or did they finally get around to at least having the option to simplify things?

I am glad to see something like this happening.
My only concern is what this is going to take away from OOTP. Markus said iOOTP wasn't going to impact OOTP in any way, yet the release of OOTP12 was directly impacted by iOOTP. Either way, good luck! |

You're fairly safe in this regard - Markus is far from a 'Hockey expert' ... so the hockey game won't impact him in the slightest. |

OOTP is still a very in depth game - however they have released iOOTP (iPhone/iPad/iTouch) last year which is very easy to play and a lot of fun imho .... I also think the success of that might inspire some refined usability in the OOTP PC/Mac UI next year, time will tell. Last edited by Marc Vaughan : 10-19-2011 at 10:32 AM. |

Nice to see some early interest in the hockey project here.
Firstly, let me tell you, that Markus and Andreas will not do any work for the hockey game, so Markus will not lose any time at all for OOTP13! With Malte we have someone who a) worked on this project before and b) will continue to work on the project full time. I will support him whenever my work on iOOTP allows it. Better access to OOTP is pretty big for OOTP 13, which will influence the hockey project as well. As Marc mentioned, we learned a lot from the iOOTP release. We are very excited to bring the hockey project to OOTP Developments and profit from the experience and knowledge of Markus and Andreas. It will be a great run ... |

Wow, this is a pleasant surprise!
That said, as someone who was a head researcher on EHM for that whole, wonderful ride, it almost feels as if I'm cheating on Riz by even showing interest in this

You are right, the wording is a little misleading. As a big OOTP Online League fan myself (and longtime Commish) that is a must-feature. How close we can reach the OOTP12 level with our first version has to be seen but basic stuff like in-game im-/export of team-files and league-files or password protected GM/Commish login will make the release (as we basically have it already implemented).

Regardless of his perceived knowledge of baseball, OOTP is one of my favorite games of all time so I have to say that he's a great game designer.
