Pay-to-play fantasy football
I'm gathering interest for a fantasy football league. Not quite looking to incorporate the general population quite yet, but if anyone here is interested, here's what I have in mind:
$100 entry fee, 100% goes back to the winners (less transaction costs, and maybe site costs) non-keeper league 12 teams deep rosters (likely starting 2QB, 2RB, 4WR, 1flex, 2TE, 2K, 2Def) I rule the league with an iron fist I am *open* to making this an auction league (I'm very intrigued) but the logistics become difficult there, so it's not essential in my mind. There has been a play-for-free league run partially through FOF-related sites for the last few years, but it has suffered greatly from the usual consequences of having absolutely nothing on the line, i.e. half the league stops paying attention a few weeks into the season or sooner. I figure that $100 would serve to (1) boost interest, and (2) salve the feeling of loss to an early-quitting manager, give that we'd at least have his money. If you are interested, potentially interested, or have questions -- please post in this thread. |

I would love to be a part of this, and the $100 doesn't phase me.

i'd like to get my wife into a league....
and i'd bet $100 on her to win, but i don't really dig the "deep rosters". is that set in stone 2qbs, 4wrs, 2te's....? |

Definitely interested. Miss my old pay league. I'm also a strong proponent of deep rosters -- I like leagues where there is definite consideration given to picking up backup QBs and RBs and it's virtually impossible to cobble together a decent team through the waiver or free agent wire. Building a team should be done through the draft and trading, not because the No. 1 running back in the league blows out his knee and you get to claim his backup.
Would the registration fee be a flat fee? I've run in a league in the past where there was a small fee for waiver and free agent claims. |
