Ok, time for another playoff.

This time, I'm just going to go with a 10-team format. It includes all of the champions of all of the FBS conferences, based on their Omnivore ranks.

I have a bracket made and if you want to see it for posterity, lemme know.

The National Championship is in Miami this year. Yes, I know of low ratings. Nonetheless, each of the games was electrifying. Cincinnati kicked a field goal to win with a second left. Central Michigan stifled Alabama's offense all day and hung with them to get the victory. Boise State v. TCU was a basketball game on turf and Georgia Tech held Texas, despite the Longhorns playing in their home state.

Wacky stuff, folks.

This one was 26-23, Cincy with less than a minute in the 4th quarter. Georgia Tech drove down the field in an attempt to get into field goal range and with two timeouts.

The refs seemed to have it in for Tech, two penalties on the offense were called in the last minute of the game, which didn't help matters. Then, with six seconds left, rather than call timeout, the team lined up in the no-huddle and no spike or anything. Instead? A pass.

It was good for nine yards, but it was too late to get the ball down to kick the field goal and as a result, Cincinnati escapes with a narrow victory.

4th Quarter in Pasadena for the other semi-final and it's 24-10 Central Michigan with 5:01 left. Dan LeFevour is a man possessed. I think that's what you see in a playoff. A team gets hot behind a guy or three and before you know it, they're hoisting a championship trophy. I wouldn't count Boise State out yet, but..they're having a hard time getting downfield.

This Boise State touchdown did little to close the lead, as their offense took too long to get going.

FINAL SCORE: Central Michigan 27, Boise State 17

The playoff detractors are screaming at their loudest, as a team that lost to Arizona and Boston College in the regular season, by virtue of winning their conference, will be heading to the national championship game, after knocking off Alabama and now, Boise State in successive weeks.
