Abilene Season Preview

The addition of Dean Hoo will see Rob Nielsen being moved to the PF role, where his outside shooting should be very difficult to defend. Abilene still has a big hole at C, where Montalvo is a terrible rebounder and average defender. Abilene starts the season unranked but did receive 9 votes.

Incarnate Word Season Preview

Jack Phelps was hired away by Iona. Replacing him is Clyde Reed, who was an assistant with two time NCAA champ Kansas St. His stats: Recruiting (8), Scouting (10), Coaching Offense (4), Coaching Defense (1). The weak gameday coaching could be problematic. However, it will be hard to mess up the talent IW has this year. With Lang coming in to dish the ball to Bafou, Ginsberg, and Jestor, Incarnate has some diversity. Expectations are high in San Antonio this year, as Incarnate begins the season as the #7 team in the nation. I have a feeling Phelps will regret his move.
