Enough Hattrick Dynasties to Make You Sick: WSP Hattrick Dynasty

Hello and welcome to my very first dynasty. Since I am new at this, I figured Hattrick would be a good place to start. Hattrick was introduced to me by my friend Superman=#54 (I thank you for bringing me into this addictive game.) Anywho, I love the idea of being a General Manager of a team, and soccer is a pretty cool sport. I can be a very competitive person, so losing at this game can really piss me off. But I must remember that this is only a game, and that my team will take time for it to develope into a well balanced and organized team. I am entering my 6th week of play (including the 2 week offseason.) I hope to attract some fans to my dynasty, and remember, comments and complaints are always welcome.

Well at the moment I'm sorta pissed because I got kicked off and didnt get to post what Im writing now.

Anyway, I've done all the basics a new owner would do. Heres what youve all missed out on since I started.

New coach: From wretched to...

Dan Rush (8629706)
43 years, inadequate form, healthy
A passable coach who prefers a strong defensive game
A sympathetic guy who is balanced and honest.
Has brilliant experience and passable leadership abilities.

Yes, ive gotten very lucky here. A passable coach, and a defensive one to boot. (I like strong defense if you hadnt noticed)

I've hired a bunch of others. And developed my youth squad. At the moment its inad, and I only want to put in 5 g's because of debt. (I'll fill you in later) Anyway, ive made an awesome pick for this week, Ill fill you all in on this in posts to come.

Youth Squad: inadequate
Investment in the Youth squad: 5 000 US$ / week

Goaltending Coaches: 2
Assistant Coaches: 8
Sport Psychologists: 1
Spokepersons: 2
Economists: 2
Physiotherapists: 3
Doctors: 1

I plan on hiring 2 more Physiotherapists because i hate injuries.
Im training at 100% now. Ive been trainin defense but now im working on General and Stamina for the next 2 weeks.

Ok, one other thing I have to mention is my stadium. I have really updated it, I mean REALLY REALLY updated it. I figured it would be my major source of income for the coming months, so a one time fix would be best. I went from the standard 5000 Terrace 2000 Basic to...

Last improvement: 3/28/2003
Total capacity: 16300

Terraces: 11000
Basic seating: 3500
Seats under roof: 1500
Seats in VIP boxes: 300

Yep, like I said, a major update. It put me 200,000 under, but I am slowly making it all back...

Player postings next!

As promised here are my player stats. I am now gonna post some stats of select players from my squad.

Im a defensive team, why not start off with my defenders.

Danny Williams
83 000 US$, 27 years, weak form
Has weak experience and inadequate leadership abilities [Powerful]

Stamina: passable Keeper: disastrous
Playmaking: weak Passing: weak
Winger: wretched Defending: solid
Scoring: inadequate Set Pieces: disastrous

He was passable defending when i got him. Training brought him up 2 weeks ago. Age is a problem though, but for now, hes a starter.

Chad Tate
30 000 US$, 25 years, weak form
Has poor experience and wretched leadership abilities

Stamina: wretched Keeper: disastrous
Playmaking: poor Passing: weak
Winger: wretched Defending: passable
Scoring: inadequate Set Pieces: inadequate

Good defender, getting old. MVP of my team in my first 4 games.

The next defender I picked up, he was inad at 17000. I paid 7000 for him.

Bozhidar Petkov
22 000 US$, 18 years, inadequate form
Has disastrous experience and solid leadership abilities

Stamina: passable Keeper: disastrous
Playmaking: wretched Passing: weak
Winger: wretched Defending: passable
Scoring: poor Set Pieces: wretched

Training brought him up as well.
Now for my middies.

Arnold Crabtree
26 000 US$, 22 years, passable form
Has wretched experience and weak leadership abilities [Powerful]

Stamina: weak Keeper: disastrous
Playmaking: inadequate Passing: wretched
Winger: poor Defending: poor
Scoring: passable Set Pieces: solid

Hes my most valuable players at the moment. At 26000 you may ask yourself why. Heres why. In the past 2 games hes scored 6 goals, including a hattrick +1 game on Sunday. Hes the leading scorer in my league, and a great asset to the team.

Elmer Crockett
83 000 US$, 18 years, solid form
Has disastrous experience and disastrous leadership abilities [Quick]

Stamina: inadequate Keeper: disastrous
Playmaking: weak Passing: poor
Winger: passable Defending: weak
Scoring: passable Set Pieces: weak

Crockett was picked up for about 40 grand. Kinda costly but hes still young and has scored at least one goal in the last 4 games.

Jan Hansson
78 000 US$, 21 years, passable form
Has disastrous experience and passable leadership abilities

Stamina: excellent Keeper: disastrous
Playmaking: inadequate Passing: weak
Winger: passable Defending: poor
Scoring: poor Set Pieces: wretched

A steal on the market, only 20 grand. A great starting winger I believe.

Frank Merrill
64 000 US$, 28 years, solid form
Has weak experience and poor leadership abilities

Stamina: poor Keeper: wretched
Playmaking: poor Passing: weak
Winger: inadequate Defending: inadequate
Scoring: passable Set Pieces: disastrous

Merrill will fill in nicely as an inner midfielder. Unfortunately he has no playmaking, but oh well. Im just starting anyway.

My Forward. My pride and joy.. I play 4-5-1 so he is my all star...

David Dewitt
115 000 US$, 23 years, passable form
Has wretched experience and inadequate leadership abilities [Head]

Stamina: poor Keeper: wretched
Playmaking: poor Passing: weak
Winger: passable Defending: wretched
Scoring: solid Set Pieces: disastrous

Yep solid scoring, I notice he is a passable winger, but i like him as a forward. Besides my winger spots are filled. He is an original player from my team. Started at 80000 though. Hes improved quite a bit since then.

And finally my keeper. I purchesed this one to replace my inad.

Pedro da Silva Júnior
150 000 US$, 19 years, weak form
Has disastrous experience and weak leadership abilities

Stamina: wretched Keeper: passable
Playmaking: disastrous Passing: disastrous
Winger: disastrous Defending: disastrous
Scoring: disastrous Set Pieces: disastrous

Value at the time: 189000. Kinda dropped eh. I felt he was a good buy at 80 grand.

But remember that whole Youth squad pick I mentioned?
Oh yeah... My inadequate squad has produced a golden player.

Pedro will now be replaced with:

Jerald Obrien
278 000 US$, 19 years, passable form
Has disastrous experience and weak leadership abilities

Stamina: poor Keeper: passable
Playmaking: disastrous Passing: disastrous
Winger: disastrous Defending: disastrous
Scoring: disastrous Set Pieces: disastrous

A very nice pick. Luck has been with me so far. I hope that this luck stays with me a bit longer. My next post will feature results from my last 2 league games.

I want to add that the White Sox Pride are in V.167. For those of you scoring at home, the Golden Eagles FC are also in V.167. It should be interested to see the trials and tribulations of teams in the same league.

Ok, here are my last 2 league matches. I had played 2 last season, both terrifying losses.
But now, my team has new hope. Undefeated in the last 5 games, and winning 4 straight, White
Sox Pride is starting to show its true colors. Unfortunately, I am definately going to lose my
next Cup game, but I hope to at least get one goal on the board.

Ok now, first game of season 19 my team had high hopes. We were playing the second to last team of
last season, so an easy victory was expected. My team would be filled with 2nd stringers to prevent
serious injury.

White had chosen a strategic 4-5-1 formation.
They fielded: da Silva Júnior - Huber, Petkov, Williams, Bowling - Merrill, Hansson, Crabtree, Mccauley, Crockett - Dewitt.

The game was scoreless until the 38th minute.
. Frank Merrill was dominating his wing and kept sending fine balls into the enemy box - Elmer Crockett managed to
kick one of them into 0 - 1 in the 38:th minute.

This lead would not last, as they quickly put up the tying goal.
I scored 2 more goals in 2 minutes before the half, leaving the score 1-3 WSP up. We held a clear 57 % possesion
rate, the first sign of my midfield dominating.

The second half was not as exciting as the first. My defense held out and Crabtree scored his second
goal for the night.

We won 1-4 with a astounding 73 percent possession rate.
Not too much to be proud of, i expected a win.

White Sox Pride
Player rating and Team formation

Midfield: wretched
Right Side Defence: solid
Central Defence: excellent
Left Side Defence: excellent
Right Side Attack: inadequate
Central Attack: poor
Left Side Attack: inadequate

My team showed me that we will rely on our defense and hope for the occasional goal with
our inadequate attacks.

Our second game for the season followed a 3-2 cup game victory over a Division 5 team.
I expected a loss, but my defense came through, and we were victorious.

My second game would be against Deutsch Fire FC. Last season my team held out and the game
resulted in a 1-1 draw despite Deutsch's domination of possession at 70 percent.
My opponant had recently relieved 2 good starters for financial reasons. I expected a very close tight game.
I got the exact opposite.

WSP stadium had a nice sell out crowd. We hoped to give our fans what they wanted to see; a high
scoring game. We played our usual 4-5-1. This would be Jerald Obriens first game as a WSP player.

After 16 minutes, DFFC took the lead as Juan Ignacio Puigcerver placed a fine move against my new keeper.
This didnt last long, and after a handball penalty, Arnold Crabtree scored on the pk. In the 39th minute another penalty
on the visiting team resulted in another pk and another goal for Crabtree. WSP was now up 2-1.
Just one minute lader, DFFC would have scored the tying goal, if it wasnt for some excellent keeping from my rookie
as he made an excellent save, tipping the awkwardly curled shot past the post.

(Thats a good sign for the future of my keeper)

At the half the score was 2-1, WSP holding the ball 51 percent of the time.

Now that was a complete surprise to me.

Crabtree quickly made the game 3-1 with a powerful kick from the middle. Our offense proved itself in this game.
It would quickly score 2 goals in the next 2 minutes with our special "blitzkrieg" assaults seen in the last 3 games.

We would end the game with a 61 percent possession rate.

Much to the surprise of the fans, my keeper Obrien was named MVP. And the worst player of the game
was Arnold Crabtree. Despite scoring 4 goals, he had a "terrible day". No matter, this would be his first career hattrick, I hope for much more from him.

Deutsch Fire FC
Player rating and Team formation
Midfield: poor
Right Side Defence: passable
Central Defence: solid
Left Side Defence: passable
Right Side Attack: passable
Central Attack: weak
Left Side Attack: weak

We defeated a rather well balanced team, and I am very pround of my players.

White Sox Pride
Player rating and Team formation
Midfield: poor (finally my team reaches a poor midfield)
Right Side Defence: solid
Central Defence: excellent
Left Side Defence: solid
Right Side Attack: inadequate
Central Attack: poor
Left Side Attack: inadequate

Don't let those inad attacks fool you.
We have scored 9 goals and only given up 2, showing our strong defense. WSP is now 2-0 in my league.
All in all I say this is not a bad for me only being in the 5th week of this game.
Coming soon, cup game scouting.

I think Jerald could be a solid gk with one week of training. I bought a gk with an assessed value a little lower than yours (250-260k) and trained him in gk for 2 weeks. He is now a solid gk, assessed value of 287k with passable form.

Ill take your advice on that fflix. A solid keeper would be great for my team. So in doing this Ive hired 4 more GK coaches to make the total 6. Ill relieve them once Jerald has moved up a level. Then I will resume with my stamina training.

Ok now, here is my cup game scouting report.

Argentina FC is a division 4 team. That pretty much sets up my situation. Yes, I'm screwed.
AFC runs a 3-4-3 and his midfield and defense still blows mine away. Heres his stats from Sundays League game:

Midfield: inadequate
Right Side Defence: formidable
Central Defence: formidable
Left Side Defence: inadequate
Right Side Attack: inadequate
Central Attack: outstanding
Left Side Attack: excellent

Yep, I stand no chance. I debated whether or not to just play all second string players or not. I decided to play some starters, but not all. My new keeper will play again in order to recieve the training. I will also be using PIC so that I will not lose any players due to injury in a hopeless game. I will try to avoid a blowout by playing more defensively, but I doubt that will do any good as his offense is outstanding.

This game should end my 5 game winning streak. Oh well. All that means is its time to start a new one.

Next update: Cup game recap/Training results

Cup Results

Well let me start out by saying that my cup game went better than expected. However, if I had played it like any other match, I may have won, or at least taken it into a shootout...

I decided since there would be no chance of me winning, I would PIC the game. I would also bench some of my main starters, including my powerhouse offensive player David Dewitt.

Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 16273 at White Sox Pride Arena today.
(some nice cash to help my hurting economy)

White tactics involved an interesting 4-5-1 combination.
AFC had chosen a strategic 3-4-3 formation.

Ok heres how the first half went. My forward got a card.

Ok that was the end of the first half. 0 - 0 was the half-time score. AFC held the ball, with a clear 77 percent possession rate.

Now thats some boring soccer. Yep, thats all that happened in the first 45 minutes of this game.

Ok, now for the second half. My forward got another card and was sent packing.
This time theres more to the game.
A mistake by the home sides central defence in the 86:th minute allowed Martin Dehlen to score 0 - 1 for AFC. AFC had, after 86 minutes of the game, worked the left side industriously, creating several opportunities to add to their lead, but somehow didn´t achieve closure. AFC, bringing the final ball possession rate to 87 percent, dominated the battle.

Wow, I lost in the 86th minute. I held this strong offensive team to one goal. Of course AFC played his "B" team, but, that team was still much stronger than mine. All but 2 of his players on the field were over 150000. I only had one person over 150000 out there.

Oh well, I expected a loss, and I am happy it wasnt a blow out.
I was pleasantly surprised with how strong my defense was during this game, and I plan to play the same people in my upcoming game against Golden Eagles FC.

White Sox Pride

Nice showing- a 1-0 shutout shouldn't hurt your team spirit too much and it looks like you got a nice payday. Too bad you couldn't have pulled off the upset, but c'est la vie.

New Arrivals

Today my team was finally able to bid on players once again. I know I should be trying to save up my money and get out of debt, but i needed a couple of backups who will also be starters on my B team.

Erik Almgård
22 000 US$, 18 years, passable form
Has disastrous experience and inadequate leadership abilities

Stamina: weak Keeper: disastrous
Playmaking: weak Passing: poor
Winger: poor Defending: inadequate
Scoring: weak Set Pieces: wretched

A good backup defender who will only get better with training.

Stefan Björkén
28 000 US$, 19 years, passable form
Has disastrous experience and wretched leadership abilities [Technical]

Stamina: weak Keeper: disastrous
Playmaking: inadequate Passing: weak
Winger: poor Defending: weak
Scoring: weak Set Pieces: poor

I was in desperate need for another Inner Midfielder. He should do just fine as a backup.

Both of these players were a steal at 2000 a piece.

With this weeks training i have mixed emotions. I am both overjoyed, and quite disappointed. Following the advice of fflix (thanks) my squad trained Goalkeeping for the week to help my new starter coming from my youth squad.

Jerald Obrien went from $278,000 to $307,000. I am very happy with this. The icing on the cake was that he went from a Passable Keeper to a Solid one. (thanks again fflix)

This is great for me. Now I expect at least 3 stars per game from him. He will really boost my teams defense.

Now for the bad news.

Players Form Changes:

UP - 4 Players (2 Starters)

Down - 7 Players (4 Starters) ouch...

Same - 13 Players

Most players values stayed the same, or went up or down 1 or 2 thousand.

Biggest Value Changes:

Jerold Obrien - Up 29000

Elmer Crockett - Down 10000

These changes in form have ruined my plans of another week of Goalkeeping Training. I would have liked to get another week of GK training while I still had the Goaltending coaches. Form plays a major role in Hattrick, so i will train General for this week.

Scouting Report: Golden Eagles FC

The time has finally come. White Sox Pride and fellow FOFC'er Golden Eagle will face off tomorrow. I expect a very tight, close game here. One which will count on tough defense.

Golden Eagle runs a 3-5-2, very aggressive offense. I hope to shut that offense down with my usual 4-5-1 defensive formation.

Here are Golden Eagles FC's last ratings.

Golden Eagles FC
Player rating and Team formation
Midfield: poor
Right Side Defence: solid
Central Defence: solid
Left Side Defence: excellent
Right Side Attack: weak
Central Attack: inadequate
Left Side Attack: weak

Strong defense followed by a decent offense.
His strong area is his midfield. Mine has just recently reached poor, so I expect him to have control of the ball for most of the game.

My strategy will involve making the best of every occasion to score I have. I will not have many shots against this tough team, so i have to make every one count. This game will result in the first loss of the season for one of us.

Match Results: WSP v. Golden Eagles FC

Coming in to the match the players had high hopes. After the recent 0-1 loss against Division IV Agentina FC, White Sox Pride hoped that this would be their pickup game. One which would start another winning streak for the team. During pregame interviews, young keeper Jerald Obrien had this to say, "I still can't believe I didn't block that shot. I was left flatfooted, and he got the best of me, scoring the winning goal. I won't let that happen today." Winger Elmer Crockett also had some comments. "I just couldn't hit that mark that game. I had so many opportunities to put the game away, but I just kept coming up short. I hope today I can right the wrongs I had last Wednesday." As you can see, the team wasn't ready to let another game slip right by them. White Sox Pride regulars, plus 3 new additions, were ready for a very tough match.

The crowd of 7795 turning up at Golden Eagles FC Arena today were greeted by some nasty showers of rain. Golden tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. The following players had been chosen: Schultz - Larragoiti, Vera, Dorsey - Pineda, Jansson, Shook, Chu, Fernández-Cuesta - Morin, Ortega Gutierrez.

White had chosen a strategic 4-5-1 formation. Lineup: Obrien - Petkov, Williams, Tate, Almgård - Hansson, Crabtree, Björkén, Good, Crockett - Dewitt.

White had several good opportunities to take the lead, especially in the 7:th minute when Marc Good came up alone against Jochen Schultz who managed a block. Golden created a good opportunity to score in the games 34:th minute when Thomas Shook`s hooked ball created a scuffle in front of the goal, and the visitors defenders had a hard time clearing the ball. Golden´s Gabriel Fernández-Cuesta refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon in the 36:th minute. The teams went for a half-time break at 0 - 0. Golden held the ball, with a clear 58 percent possession rate.

52 minutes into the game Danny Williams had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came Tony Bowling. In the games 69:th minute David Dewitt almost gave the visitors the lead, as he clipped a spectacular scissors shot just past the bar. After 72 minutes, Elmer Crockett swiftly ran past José Luis Larragoiti to put away the 0-1 goal. Golden held the ball, with a clear 61 percent possession rate.

Keeper Jerald Obrien was named MVP

Coach Dan Rush had this to say, "A very good job by our players today. Crockett stayed true to his word, scoring the go ahead goal. Our defense did an exlemplary job, especially with our defensive giant Williams getting injured. We are happy to say it is only a sprained knee, and he should be fit for next week's game. Golden Eagles FC had us on the edge of our seats, but our defense came through. I hoped for a more offensive game, but it remains true, that a good defense will win games. We got a good look at some of our new additions to the team. Marc Good had several opportunities to score, but he had some jitters as it was his first game on the field. We have big plans in the future for him."

Those are the player ratings for my game. Good and Björkén showed good ratings for their first game, and they will be much better after a little Playmaking Training. Crabtree has yet another bad outing, and he may soon be replaced with someone from my second squad.

I have recently constructed my own B team, and yesterday was their first shot at playing a match together. It would also be the first time I used 3-5-2. I'm planning to use that formation more often. Moving from a 4-5-1 to a 3-5-2 would mean I would need another forward, so this match would help determine who I should play. New addition to my team, Tim Baugh, would also get his first career start.

305 spectators arrived at White Sox Pride Arena, where weather conditions were pretty good for football. White had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. They fielded: da Silva Júnior - Almgård, Petkov, Linin - Gah-Fat, Huber, Monk, Baugh, Cantu - Lancaster, Merrill.

Shaw_Shanksters had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Lineup: Hörnsjö - Quigley, George, Denson - Pritchard, Dell'Asta, Dincã, Mcduffie, Davison - Rains, Beck.

White created a good opportunity to score in the games 2nd minute when Landon Lancaster`s hooked ball created a scuffle in front of the goal, and the visitors defenders had a hard time clearing the ball. Shaw_Shanksters seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion about the organization of the team. Some beautiful plays on the left side of the field resulted in a 14:th minute goal by Frank Merrill for White, putting them ahead 1 - 0. White had obvious problems in finding their positions. White put themselves up 2 - 0 when Darren Cantu broke through on the right, leaving the entire defensive box behind him. White appeared unsure on how to play. One of many good passes from Liu Gah-Fat at the wing was recieved and skillfully taken care of by Darren Cantu, scoring for White to 3 - 0. Halftime score was 3 - 0. White held the ball, with a clear 55 percent possession rate.

During the break White´s coach went through the teams new tactics yet again. The Shaw_Shanksters players spent the half-time break getting a rerun of the teams tactical organization. Shaw_Shanksters reduced to 3 - 1 on a penalty laid at the left post by Cãlin Dincã. White seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion about the organization of the team. After an industrious effort down the middle Curt Monk could have closed the game off in the 72nd minute, but his finishing shot hit the post. Shaw_Shanksters held the ball, with a clear 54 percent possession rate.

The most dominating White player was without a doubt Frank Merrill. Brad Huber on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating Shaw_Shanksters player was without a doubt Herbert Denson. Claudio Dell'Asta on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 3 - 1.

Finally a win for me against fellow FOFC'er Superman=#54.

I was happy with my stats for this match. It is my B team so my starters should produce some better numbers.

Frank Merrill recieved 2.5 stars at the forward position, so he will move to my starting team.
Tim Baugh had 2 stars at the inner midfield position, and will also move to the starting team.

Next up, Training update.

Training Update

For this week we trained stamina, hoping to strenghthen my team before my game agains LA Skullkickers, currently number one in my league. The results were not bad. Most players increased at least one level. Also, I had some decent value changes.

1 Starter at Excellent Stamina. (1 Inner Midfielder)

2 Starters with Solid Stamina.

3 Starters with Passable Stamina(1 Inner Midfielder)

2 Starters with Inadequate Stamina. (1 Inner Midfielder)

2 Starters with weak Stamina. (Both Forwards)

Is this good stamina for my Starting squad? Or should I try to get another week of stamina training in soon?

Highest Value Changes
Landon Lancaster - UP $18,000
Elmer Crockett - DOWN $9,000

Lancaster is now at $60,000, but because of his only Inadequate scoring, he is not on my starting squad. He has Solid Passing and Set Pieces, but if his scoring were at Passable, he would be a starting Forward.
This is the second week Crockett has gone down, and my staff is starting to worry.

Both keepers went down $8,000 this week. I've hired an extra GK coach, so my ratio is now 3:7 GK to assistants.

1 Starter with Solid Form
4 Starters with Passable Form
4 Starters with Inadequate Form
2 Starters with Weak Form.

We will train General to, hopefully, make up for the overall bad form.

Week 4 League Match Scouting

This Sunday, White Sox Pride plays Wisconsin Badgers. They are winless this year so far, giving up 16 goals to their 1. There midfield is a joke, pulling in only 3 stars last week. He runs a
4-4-2 with an offensive minded coach. He has one threat to our game though. That would be his all star forward.

Bryan Goins (8857619)
26 years, passable form, healthy

A pleasant guy who is balanced and upright.
Has disastrous experience and inadequate leadership abilities.

Nationality: USA
Assessed value: 255 000 US$

He pulls in 2.5 stars a game. Fortunately, for us, he won't be recieving many passes from his midfield.

Here are his stats from his last game.

Midfield: disastrous
Right Side Defence: inadequate
Central Defence: inadequate
Left Side Defence: weak
Right Side Attack: poor
Central Attack: weak
Left Side Attack: weak

He is a very weak team, so we should have no problem this week.

WSP Coach Dan Rush had this to say, "As long as we don't go out there thinking this team is a pushover, we should win. The second we become too over-confident out there, they may pass us up and score the winning goal."

I plan to PIC this week to help my TS. The team will be playing a 3-5-2. If all goes well with this formation, it will become my new standard formation.

Hmm.. not much to say.. My youth pull pick was crap. 'nough said. Fired and gone...

Anyway, not a bad week for my economy.
Sponsors still delirious; supporters content.

This week I got 33,300 from sponsors - UP 750. Can't complain there.
Ive finally reached under 200k in debt, so I fired an economist this week.

I also plan to get around 80k from my league match tomorrow.
*I'm not good with code, so bear with me*

Revenue------------------------Expenses
Crowd------------0--------------Arena------10200

Not bad, especially with a league match this week. Although I may have to downsize my Staff because it is costing me a bundle.

Week 3: WSP v. Wisconsine Badgers

Coming into this match, I expected an easy win so I PIC'd this game.

Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 6151 to White Sox Pride Arena. White had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. They fielded: Obrien - Tate, Williams, Almgård - Hansson, Baugh, Björkén, Good, Gah-Fat - Dewitt, Merrill.

Wisconsin tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination. They fielded: Barbee - Mattingly, Bilbao Ubillos, Chatman, Herrera - Craven, Hurt, Grantham, Sherrill - Goins, Knight.

After a fine move down the middle David Dewitt nearly gave the home side one up in the 19:th minute. The finishing shot went just wide, though. Fine winger Jan Hansson made one of his many passes from the wing into the middle in the 25:th minute. David Dewitt went to the air and hit the ball firmly with his forehead for 1 - 0. White´s Marc Good had an excellent opportunity in the 29:th minute, shooting on a through ball, but he missed the goal by miles! After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, White´s Frank Merrill got himself booked. After 36 minutes Wisconsin´s Bryan Goins contracted a slight foot injury, but could finish the game. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. Tim Baugh squirmed himself through the central defense line in the 36:th minute, asserting the lead to 2 - 0. In the 41st minute of the match the visitors central line of defence had to look on as Marc Good dashed through, knocking home 3 - 0 for White. White seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion about the organization of the team. After an industrious effort down the middle Frank Merrill could have closed the game off in the 42nd minute, but his finishing shot hit the post. The teams went for a half-time break at 3 - 0. White held the ball, with a clear 81 percent possession rate.

Very good for my team, especially because I was pic'n it.

White coach had an extra briefing during the break, and after that his players looked a lot more organized. A speedy charge from the left side of the field put White lead up with 4 - 0. David Dewitt finished that one off competently, firing from an acute angle. Stefan Björkén of White received a yellow card in the 59:th minute for unsportsmanlike behaviour. In the 63rd minute of the match the visitors central line of defence had to look on as Frank Merrill dashed through, knocking home 5 - 0 for White. Chad Tate was suffering from cramps and had big difficulties keeping up as the opponentes pushed forward. Son Mattingly had no problems getting through and hit home the 5 - 1 goal. A great save by goaltender Ike Barbee in the 68:th minute kept the visitors in the game as Frank Merrill struck from the left with a real cannonball. The fortyfive minutes were dominated by White, with an impressive 89 percent possession of the ball.

White´s best player was Jerald Obrien. Stefan Björkén on the other hand, had a terrible day. Wisconsin´s best player was Bryan Goins. Noel Hurt was a disappointment, however. The match ends 5 - 1.

I liked what I saw here. I would have liked the shut out, but oh well, I cant complain. Also I didnt even sell half of my tickets. I guess my fans dont feel like seeing a high scoring game...

White Sox Pride
Player rating and Team formation
Midfield: poor
Right Side Defence: formidable
Central Defence: excellent
Left Side Defence: passable

My defense had a very good showing. My Left Side should improve when I put in my young passable defender once his form improves. I am very pleased with my defense in my new 3-5-2 formation.

This game also brought a new record of stars for me. Everone had at least a 2 Star game.

Would have liked to see another 3 Star game from Obrien, and another 2.5 Star game from Gah-Fat and Merrill, but you cant win them all.

Around The League

This week brought about an upset as well as a draw I would have never expected. Last week Kingpin FC, one of the weaker teams in my league, was replaced with §Panda§. A new owner to this club may totally turn it around.

LA Skullkickers v. Partizan Jug
This match is important to me, as I play Partizan Jug next week, and LA the week after that. Currently LA Skullkickers is number one in my league. He plays an interesting 4-4-2 and has a decent midfield for this league, but will need alot of improvement if he wants to move to Division IV. Partizan Jug is pretty much a mystery team. They play a 3-4-3 and have a decent midfield. I'm not afraid of them because without a midfield, you cant win. This was an easy blowout for LA, winning 7 - zip. Looking at Skullkickers stats after the game let me show a sigh of relief. My stats from my league game this week were better than his. My defense and offense were slightly better. Also his possession rate went from 68 to 52 showing his team has no stamina. His team needs some young stars soon as he played 7 people over the age of 27. Including 3 over 30.

Archers v. Golden Eagles FC
From what I had seen before, I figured it would be an easy win for Golden Eagles. I was way wrong on this one. Archers put up stats that I have never seen them show before. Archers came away with a 2-0 win holding the ball 60 and 72 % of the time. They are starting to show some life, and that can be a problem in the future.

§Panda§ v. Deutsch Fire FC
As I mentioned earlier, §Panda§ had just joined this league. They came attacking with a 4-4-2, and surprisingly, their midfield still achieved a "poor" rating. Panda had very little defense, and no offense whatsoever. They held out though, because of their strong midfield, holding the ball more than Fire's "wretched" midfield. DFFC had a decent defense as well as an okay offense. To my surprise, however, Panda held out and scoring in the second half, tied the game. It would end in a draw. Panda is a team to watch out for in the upcoming weeks.

Archers did put up high ratings. They may have MOTS releazing the urgency of the game. We do have injuries in the mid which are killing us.

Congrats on the win though.

Training

This has got to be the best week of training I've had all season. Now I didnt say it was great, I just said its the best week so far this season. The teams form was doing pretty bad coming off of a week of stamina training. I debated training General this week, but decided I would do Playmaking instead. Then, if needed, I would train General before my match against first place LA Skullkickers.

Recently, both of my keepers forms have been dropping. I decided to hire a 3rd GK Coach, and fire one assistant. Very nice results if I do say so myself.

Jerald Obrien - $310,000 UP $11,000
Pedro da Silva Junior - $151,000 UP $19,000 and Form up to Weak

I was surprised at how soon 2 of my Playmaking trainees popped. Tim Baugh and Stefan Björkén jumped to Passable Playmaking. I know Passable isn't something to be too happy about, but I paid cheap to get them while they were inadequate, so it makes it all worth while. They also provide me with my first Passable Playmaking Inner Mids.

With all good there is some bad. Elmer Crockett, for the third week in a row, has dropped in value and form. Hes gone from 81,000 and Solid Form to 59,000 and Poor Form. He is a very important winger for my team, and I hope he improves very quickly.

All Star Forward David Dewitt also took a hit, dropping from Passable form to Inadequate form. Also his value fell 6,000. No worries though, as he has been fluctuating up and down recently.

FORM
UP - 7 (3 Starters)
DOWN - 3 (1 Starter)
11 Players stayed the same.

Value Changes
Pedro da Silva Junior UP - $19,000
David Dewitt DOWN - $6,000

Many Players increased in value, only 6 went down. A very good thing to see with a tough schedule coming up in the next few weeks.

Scouting: Partizan Jug er Little tech???

Well, I was all ready to write my scouting report on Partizan Jug, when Hattrick started to go all slow. When I was finally able to view their team, it turns out it wasnt their team anymore. This week we will be facing Little tech, who just recieved his team um.. 5 minutes ago. This makes it a just a little harder to write about.

Coach
Mario Camp
35 years, poor form, healthy
A poor coach who prefers a strong defensive game

Thats a change from the Offensive minded coach I was expecting.
Shouldnt be too much of a problem to me though.

Players
Really cant do much here.

Al Long is his best player. Valued at 71,000 and in weak form. I dont know position, but im guessing he is the keeper.

He has 5 players at 30,000 and above, including Al Long.

I shouldnt have too much of a problem beating Little tech, although playing against Partizan Jug and his 3-4-2 formation (injured player) would have been much better.

Little tech v. WSP

This week White Sox Pride traveled to Florida to play the newest team to V.167, Little tech. Wasnt sure what to expect, but I knew I should win. (Now, with the biggest match of the season so far for me, I wish I had PIC'd.)

Little started off with a 4-4-2 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Long - Lyon, Lindley, Walters, Roberts - Ratcliff, Fair, Mattingly, Barajas - Rajak, Bower.

White tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. The following players had been chosen: Obrien - Tate, Williams, Almgård - Hansson, Baugh, Björkén, Good, Gah-Fat - Lancaster, Dewitt.

After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, Little´s Kevin Ratcliff got himself booked. After 13 minutes Whites Tim Baugh made his way through the middle, putting the visitors up 0 - 1. Whites Landon Lancaster got himself booked after a foul. The Little player was Candramukuta Rajak who had to be helped off the pitch, unable to finish the game. After 26 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for Marc Good who increased White´s lead to 0 - 2. In the games 35:th minute White´s Tim Baugh fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee booked Tim Baugh for taking a dive. After 36 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for Erik Almgård who increased White´s lead to 0 - 3. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, White´s Liu Gah-Fat got himself booked. White´s Landon Lancaster made it through the home teams defence in the 39:th minute, and had only to place the ball in an unguarded goal when the home side´s defender sprang up from the left, clearing the ball on the line. Little will have to do without Christopher Lyon for a time due to a bad foot injury. He was substituted by Ernest Kaiser. The teams went for a half-time break at 0 - 3. White held the ball, with a clear 81 percent possession rate.

Much better than I had expected. I figured he would at least have signed in and set up his roster, but I guess not.

The away team´s Liu Gah-Fat took advantage of a mistake to the home side´s right in the 49:th minute increasing White´s lead to 0 - 4. The structure of the game started to change as White decided to pull back and meet their opponents in the defensive zone. Littles Theo Roberts got himself booked after a foul. 63 minutes into the game White were awarded a penalty and Landon Lancaster was able to increase the visitors lead to 0 - 5 rolling the ball in by the right post. David Dewitt increased the visitors lead by putting a volley shot away on a pass from the right. 0 - 6. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, White´s Stefan Björkén got himself booked. White held the ball, with a clear 91 percent possession rate.

Most important Little player was Al Long. Theo Roberts on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating White player was without a doubt Jerald Obrien. Stefan Björkén on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 0 - 6.

Good showing from my squad this week. Pretty dirty match with all those bookings. Shows my team is ready to fight.

Sorry about the delay in my next post. I just havent had the time recently to write it up. Currently I am playing a friendly against fellow FOFC'er Superman=#54 (and beating him I might add).

Deutch Fire FC v. LA Skullkickers
This was definately the match to watch this week. Especially important for me, as LA remains to be beaten this season. LA is running a 4-4-2 in order to bulk up their defense and still have a good attack. The game was scoreless in the first half, but LA's players had better stamina, putting 2 goals at the end winning
0-2.

Golden Eagles FC v. §Panda§
If you didnt know, Eagles is managed by another fellow FOFC'er. Another surpising matchup. In §Panda§ second week he has put up some good defense/midfield numbers. He may be the one to beat in the future. A pretty quiet match resulting in a 0-0 draw.

Wisconsin Badgers v. Archers
This was your typical 'no need to watch, gonna be a blowaway game.' As expected Archers beat Badgers 0-8. Only problem with this game is the stats Archers put up. He is starting to look like a team that will have a good season this year. Unfortunately for me is that i have to play Archers in back to back matches. My schedule for the next two weeks is LA, Archers, Archers, LA. A very tough schedule coming up for me...

Training

V.167 has a new player in the league now. Unfortunately for us, hes doing some insider training. Well, its not that bad because hes selling some of the better ones from his team to his other one. La Academia F.C. (71517) (new team in my league) and La Acade F.C. (229293). Names seem to be just a bit too similar for me, but oh well. Enough of my complaining about cheaters in this game.

Overall a good week of training. Not much to say, no major changes.

Form

6 Increased (4 Starters)
1 Decreased (non-starter)
12 Stayed the Same

4 Starters at Solid Form
3 Starters at Passable Form
4 Starters at Inadequate Form

Good week for form on my team. Makes me feel a little better for my Week 6 match against defending league champion LA Skullkickers. I'd feel a whole lot better if I had PIC'd my last game, and had a higher TS than Composed. Oh well, you cant have everything.

Value Changes

Jerald Obrien - UP 9,000
Elmer Crockett - DOWN 4,000

Another good week from my keepers. And another depressing showing from my winger Elmer Crockett. He is in poor form and has dropped 30,000 in the past 4 weeks. I saw my first increase from him 5 weeks ago. His value went up 1,000 and form moved to solid. And now, hes worthless for my starting team. I hate to have to sell him, but if he doesnt quickly change back to his original value, I may have to sell him.

LA Skullkickers

I don't have much time to write this, so I'm making this report short.

This match is the most important match of the season thus far. LA and WSP are tied for first, both of us are undefeated. Skullkickers are an old team, most of their starting roster is at least 28 years old. This is not good for the future if they hope to advance to Division IV.

LA plays an unusual 4-4-2 formation. Unusual only because hes been in this league so long, you'd have figured he would change to a 4-5-1 or even 3-5-2. His coach goes all out (or is fond of attacking, personally I like the original one better.) He puts up a great defense, and a solid offense to back that.

Here are his last league match ratings.

LA ScullKickers
Player rating and Team formation
Midfield: poor
Right Side Defence: excellent
Central Defence: excellent
Left Side Defence: excellent
Right Side Attack: passable
Central Attack: passable
Left Side Attack: solid

As I said, a strong defense and a very good offense for this leve. His midfield is his weak point, only playing two inner midfielders. Hopefully I can win the possession rate and win the game.

Ive stacked my Right Side Defense, and should be at Outstanding. Chad Tate moved up to solid form, so if I'm lucky, it may be even higher. My Central Defense and Left Side Defense should both be at Excellent.

So I can match his defense, but unfortunately, not his offense. At best I can put up a Passable, Inadequate, Passable. Pretty much the only way I can have a shot at this match, is if I win the possession rate or one of his players is carded or injured. Not like I want that though...

Next Report: League Match Results (Hopefully a win)

Week 6 Match Results

Yesterday we faced our toughest opponant to date, league leading LA Skullkickers. Winning this match means two things. For one, I'd take the lead in the division. Second, my TS would be raised perfect for my next tough 3 games. LA put up numbers I didn't expect to see, but I also put up my best NSI ratings. Enough chit chat, heres the match.

LA Skullkickers v. White Sox Pride

Weather conditions were fairly good for football, and LA ScullKickers Arena saw a crowd turnout of 18200. ScullKickers had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. The following players had been chosen: Johnson - Free, Klanger, Olsson, Webster - Switzer, Calderon, Schmitt, Moore - Hayward, Yew-leng.

White started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. They fielded: Obrien - Tate, Williams, Petkov - Hansson, Baugh, Björkén, Good, Gah-Fat - Dewitt, Merrill.

As expected LA came out with his 4-4-2 with 2 inner midfielders. I played my normal 3-5-2 today.

In the games 13th minute White´s Marc Good fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee booked Marc Good for taking a dive. In the 18:th minute the visitors broke through on the right after some poor defending and David Dewitt put the ball away for 0 - 1. ScullKickers´s Dai Yew-leng left the field after 29 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was Stephan Spear. Garth Schmitt pulled a real crowd pleaser as he, in the 30:th minute, wove through the guests whole central defense line and put the 1 - 1 equaliser away. In the games 33rd minute White´s Stefan Björkén fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee booked Stefan Björkén for taking a dive. ScullKickers were awarded a penalty 35 minutes into the game but Tomas Klanger produced a poor shot, quite easily saved by Jerald Obrien. In the games 36:th minute ScullKickers´s Garth Schmitt fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee booked Garth Schmitt for taking a dive. 1 - 1 was the half-time score. ScullKickers, bringing the final ball possession rate to 58 percent, dominated the battle.

Low scoring and losing possession rate as expected. Hopefully my team has the better stamina, and takes command in the second half.

White took the lead in the games 56:th minute with 1 - 2 after some elegant plays down the middle. David Dewitt was the scorer. After 68 minutes of play Glen Free equalised for ScullKickers after an elegant attack from the right. ScullKickers held the ball, with a clear 66 percent possession rate.

Pretty boring second half of soccer. I did put up another goal, but my lead didnt last for long as LA scored again. I was killed in possession, and quite surprised. I figured it would be around
50-50 the whole game. I guess not. What really bothers me is what he put up in his midfield.

LA ScullKickers
Player rating and Team formation
Midfield: weak
Right Side Defence: excellent
Central Defence: formidable
Left Side Defence: excellent
Right Side Attack: solid
Central Attack: passable
Left Side Attack: solid
NSI: 57

He put up a stronger central defense, and also a 'weak' midfield. His attack was as strong as expected, and I'm proud of my defense holding out.

White Sox Pride
Player rating and Team formation
Midfield: poor
Right Side Defence: outstanding
Central Defence: excellent
Left Side Defence: solid
Right Side Attack: inadequate
Central Attack: passable
Left Side Attack: passable
NSI: 51

My central attack increased as both my Forwards put up **~ a piece. My left side defense should move back to Excellent once Bohzidar Petkov's form goes back to 'Passable'.

Goals (First number is how many in the game, second is for season.)
--Dewitt 2 (5)

Stars

Keeper
--Obrien ***

Defenders
--Tate **~
--Williams **
--Petkov **

Inner Midfielders
--Björkén **
--Good **
--Baugh **

Wingers
--Hansson **~
--Gah-Fat **~

Forwards
--Merrill **~
--Dewitt **~

Total: 25.5

I put up my best NSI and Star ratings this week. Hopefully my team will improve in the next 3 weeks to defeat LA. (I may end up MOTS'ing that one...)

Week 6 Training

This is the third week in a row of good training. Its good mainly because there were no major drops in form or value. However, there were no real great gains either. No pops this week, but we are getting closer. Trainees Marc Good and Arnold Crabtree are expected to move to Passable Playmaking next week.

Form Changes

2 Players Increased in Form (1 Starter)
1 Player Dropped in Form (Starter)
16 Players Kept the Same Form

Starters Form
1 Player at Excellent
2 Players at Solid
4 Players at Passable
4 Players at Inadequate

Greatest Value Changes

Jerald Obrien - Up 12,000
Elmer Crockett - Down 2,000

Another sad week for Elmer Crockett. He remains at Poor Form and his value still continues to drop. He really needs to start improving so I can go back to starting him in league matches. Untill then he will remain in the FOFC Cup.

As overall form remains pretty good, next week I may train Stamina. This all depends, however, on this weeks league match.

Not too bad of a youth pull.

Keith Baer (11881446)
19 years, passable form, healthy
A pleasant guy who is temperamental and upright.
Has disastrous experience and wretched leadership abilities.

Wage: 560 US$/week
Owner: White Sox Pride
Warnings: 0

Stamina: weak Goaltending: disastrous

I probably will train stamina this week, and stay with my usual PM training after that. I will probably sell him once he hits passable PM.

Scouting Report: Archers

I play #3 Archers this week, and I will have my hands full with this one. Archers is a decently strong team putting up a 'weak' midfield and a pretty good defense and offense to go with it. Heres his ratings from his last league game.

Archers
Player rating and Team formation
Midfield: weak
Right Side Defence: solid
Central Defence: excellent
Left Side Defence: inadequate
Right Side Attack: passable
Central Attack: passable
Left Side Attack: passable

However, he plays the same squad for league and friendly matches, so heres his last friendly's game numbers.

Archers
Player rating and Team formation
Midfield: poor
Right Side Defence: solid
Central Defence: solid
Left Side Defence: inadequate
Right Side Attack: solid
Central Attack: passable
Left Side Attack: passable

The only change he made was that he played his right winger offensively. I am guessing that is what lowered his midfield ratings and raised his attack.

To counter this, I will stack my Left Side Defense by playing Chad Tate on the left instead of the right. He put up an 'outstanding' rating last week against LA Skullkickers. I will also have a solid right side and excellent central defense. The 2 goals scored by the Kickers last week came from my weakest spot on my defense, hopefully I can stop Archers from taking advantage of that.

To counter his midfield, I had hoped to play one of my wingers 'towards the middle' however, this plan was shot because one of my regular Inner Midfielders are disqualified for this match. Instead I will play the winger (Excellent stamina, Inadequate PM) as a Inner Middie.

To bulk up my Right Side Attack, I am playing my best passing winger offensively (unfortunately it is only 'weak' passing). I will also move my best forward to the Right side, and hopefully he will be able to penetrate his weaker side and score a couple.

Hope this all made some sense...

Sorry about the lack of updates. I've been bogged down with final papers and havent had the time to write a report.

Heres my last match report.

Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 16300 to White Sox Pride Arena. White had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. The following players had been chosen: Obrien - Petkov, Williams, Tate - Merrill, Hansson, Baugh, Good, Gah-Fat - Lancaster, Dewitt.

Archers tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. Lineup: Josefsson - Gyllenell, Saucedo, Gooden - Shukla, Carbone, Bagwell, Wei-Hong, Reeves - Gross, Devore.

The referee showed Archerss Scotty Devore the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. The White player was Danny Williams who had to be helped off the pitch, unable to finish the game. In the 22nd minute Whites Tim Baugh received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. In the 22nd minute cheers broke out as Landon Lancaster found his way through the guests central defense line, clipping the 1 - 0 goal in for White. In the 34:th minute Whites Frank Merrill received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. Due to a severely mistimed tackle,Steven Bagwell spent some on the grass writhing in agony before he could get up and continue the game. The teams went for a half-time break at 1 - 0. White, bringing the final ball possession rate to 54 percent, dominated the battle.

54 minutes into the game Archers´s Johnnie Gross found a gap in the home sides central defense scoring with a long shot, making it 1 - 1. Some beautiful plays on the left side of the field resulted in a 67:th minute goal by Landon Lancaster for White, putting them ahead 2 - 1. Archers could level the score in the 70:th minute at 2 - 2, as Ruben Saucedo struck home after a fine midfield combination, leaving him completely unmarked. White, bringing the final ball possession rate to 53 percent, dominated the battle.

The most dominating White player was without a doubt Jerald Obrien. Erik Almgård on the other hand, had a terrible day. Most important Archers player was Johnnie Gross. Dineshguru Shukla on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 2 - 2.

This match was very important to win, because it would pretty much seal up the 1st and 2nd spots, but now, it is up for grabs. Im 2 points under LA Skullkickers and I will have to MOTs him to beat him.
My central defender gets hurt, and he scores 2 goals down the middle. Williams is my big guy in the middle, but is out for 2 weeks now. I unfortunately did not set up my formation correctly, and my Right Side Attack didnt improve. I wont let it happen again though..

Training

In order to prepare for my rematch against LA Skullkickers, I decided to get one week of stamina training in.

4 Players moved up 2 levels of stamina.
13 Players moved up 1 level of stamina.

Both starting wingers at Excellent Stamina.
4 Inner Midfielders at Passable Stamina. (2 starters)
1 Inner Midfielder at Solid Stamina (starter)
1 Inner Midfielder at Inadequate Stamina

For training stamina my form didnt take much of a hit.

Form

4 Players Decreased (3 starters)
3 Players Increased (all non starters)
13 Players Kept the Same Form.

3 Starters at Solid Form
4 Starters at Passable Form
4 Starters at Inadequate Form

Forgot to add value changes.

David Dewitt - Up 19,000
Jerald Obrien - Down 16,000

Once again, Crockett goes down in form and value. He really needs to turn himself around, and quick.

Another hurting financial week for us. Hopefully having 2 league matches in a row will help me out.

Youth pull at a passable YS wasnt all that bad. 18 yr old inadequate defender. He's on the transfer list at 2,000 if inyone neads a cheap defender trainee.

Economic Update

The third game of my four in a row must win games. The first two ending in ties, this one was vital if i wanted to stay in competition for first.

12000 spectators had come to Longbow Field this cloudy day. Archers tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. The following players had been chosen: Josefsson - Saucedo, Gooden, Gyllenell - Gross, Carbone, Bagwell, Wei-Hong, Reeves - Shukla, Devore.

White had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Lineup: Obrien - Merrill, Tate, Petkov - Gah-Fat, Baugh, Björkén, Good, Hansson - Lancaster, Dewitt.

Archers made a bid to take the lead as a ball coming in from the right hand side left Julius Reeves completely alone with keeper Jerald Obrien, who made a spectacular block. In the game's 16:th minute Archers´s Dineshguru Shukla limped slightly after a late challenge, but he was able to continue. Archers could have put themselves ahead in the 19:th minute as Scotty Devore missed a volley shot on a ball coming in from the right. After 22 minutes Whites David Dewitt made his way through the middle, putting the visitors up 0 - 1. Halftime score was 0 - 1. Archers held the ball, with a clear 52 percent possession rate.

David Dewitt was, after 47 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors lead with a well placed diving header but home side keeper Patrik Josefsson saved. Tim Baugh received some harsh words from his coach after he acted foolishly, probably out of lack of experience, in the 50:th minute and almost caused an opponent to score. The visitors Bozhidar Petkov took advantage of an error due to a misunderstanding between the home side´s goalie and full backs in the 50:th minute. 0 - 2 for White. Archers held the ball, with a clear 53 percent possession rate.

The most dominating Archers player was without a doubt Steven Bagwell. Dineshguru Shukla was a disappointment, however. The most dominating White player was without a doubt Jerald Obrien. Jan Hansson on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 0 - 2.

This ended better than I expected it would. He put up a better midfield than he usually does so I think he may have MOTSd me. Most surprising to me was that my wingback played defensively scored a goal.
Hansson, who usually put up **~ was played towards the middle, increasing my midfield strength, but lowering his performance to *~. I stacked my Right Side Attack the best i could, but for the first time in about 5 weeks he changed his lineup.

Archers
Player rating and Team formation
Midfield: weak
Right Side Defence: inadequate
Central Defence: solid
Left Side Defence: solid
Right Side Attack: inadequate
Central Attack: inadequate
Left Side Attack: inadequate

White Sox Pride
Player rating and Team formation
Midfield: weak
Right Side Defence: solid
Central Defence: excellent
Left Side Defence: solid
Right Side Attack: passable
Central Attack: passable
Left Side Attack: weak

This marks my first 'weak' midfield, and will be helpful in the last of my 'must win games'. However, if I want to even have a chance at winning, I need my central defender to get healthy again so that i can get Excellent Defense across the board to battle his Solid attacks.

Stars

Defenders

--Petkov **

Inner Midfielders
--Baugh **
--Good **
--Björkén **

Wingers
--Gah-Fat **

Forwards

--Lancaster **

Tate, who is valued at 49,000 and has Passable defending put up an extra half star than my usual central defender. This is surprising because my normal CD is Danny Williams, valued at 100,000 and has Solid Defending. They both show Excellent Central Defense when they play. I may end up playing Williams as a WB because of this, as I have no true wingback, only CD's. Perhaps when I have some money to spend, Ill invest some into a WB, but until then its hoping for a good youth pull..

Training

First off I sold last weeks Inadequate Defender Youth Pull for 3,000 netting me 2,548, almost allowing me to break even for the pull and transfer fee.

Boring week of training. No pops, and im starting to wonder when starter Marc Good will finally hit Passable PM. Hes had 4 weeks PM training since I've had him, and still no pop. Makes me wonder how high his secondary skills are, particularly Defense.

Marc Good
54 000 US$, 19 years, passable form

Stamina: solid Keeper: disastrous
Playmaking: inadequate Passing: weak
Winger: weak Defending: inadequate
Scoring: poor Set Pieces: weak

I may train Defending for 3-4 weeks at the start of the next season, just to boost my defense, but im still undecided on whether to do that or not.

Form

5 Players Increased in Form (4 Starters)
2 Players Decreased in Form (Both non-starters)
13 Players Kept the same Form

Starters Form

5 Starters at Solid Form
2 Starters at Passable Form
4 Starters at Inadequate Form

Value Changes

Jerald Obrien - Up 19,000 (334,000)
Elmer Crockett - Up 19,000 (73,000)

Landon Lancaster - Down 7,000 (69,000)

Finally Crockett starts to move out of his slump, and has moved from wretched to weak form. Without him starting, I've realized that I have no real need for him. I will probably sell him once his form gets back up around passable so his value will be higher, (hopefully)

Elmer Crockett
73 000 US$, 18 years, weak form
Has disastrous experience and disastrous leadership abilities [Quick]

Stamina: passable Keeper: disastrous
Playmaking: weak Passing: poor
Winger: passable Defending: weak
Scoring: passable Set Pieces: weak

Any ideas on how much this guy would go for? I paid around 40,000 for him during my third week of play, not knowing that playing him as a winger means his scoring doesnt help much.

This week is most likely my last chance to move into first place.. We are playing the number one team in my League, who is 2 points ahead of me. Our last match he MOTSd me while I played normal. It ended in a 2-2 Draw. This week I will be the one motsing and should put up a high 'weak' midfield to low 'inadequate'.

LA ScullKickers
Player rating and Team formation
Midfield: poor
Right Side Defence: solid
Central Defence: excellent
Left Side Defence: excellent
Right Side Attack: solid
Central Attack: solid
Left Side Attack: solid

As you can see im going against a great defense, and a very strong offense. With my best defender still injured, I have to play one of my 'inadequate' ones. If im lucky I'll put up a Solid Excellent Solid Defense. His midfield is his weakest point, and if i MOTs him, I should have a high possession rate, and hopefully, if lucks with me, win..
