Anyone buy a piano recently?

My wife and I have discussed buying a piano for years. She has finally agreed to do so.

The problem I have run into is most pianos are now being manufactured in China, not just the cheap brands, but also the expensive name brand pianos. Undaunted, I played several of the used and new pianos at a local store and one of the best tonal ones was a brand I had not heard of, Hallet Davis, which is manufactured in China, at the same factory several other name brand pianos are made. I found some ratings for their grand pianos which rate out the same as these other brands, but could not find anything on uprights.

Does anyone have any recent experience with this?
