Well it didn't go mainstream until yesterday so it can't be from too long ago. Scott from IGN has already shot the marketing guy down on Twitter.

Long ago on a scale of hours (in other words, I read way earlier this morning that 4chan was already calling this guy at home, etc.).

Wow, whatever attention PA has gotten with that story has generated enough traffic to almost bring them down. Must be enormous, PA I thought is generally the one bringing other sites down.

Pretty much the entire website, from the blog to the about us page, or the firm was plagiarized.

Just finished Uncharted 3. Felt it was a lot easier than the first two or maybe I've just gotten better. In any case, to me, the Uncharted series is what video games should be like. That said, I feel I need to branch out in my gaming a bit and figure out what people love about some of these other games as I tend to stick with shooters, Uncharted/God of War type games, or sports games.

From Flaming to Firefighting - Paul Christoforo interviewed - Forbes

Wow, he actually claims to be a victim because he decided to bully someone who could fight back.

Basically, what Mike [Krahulik] did is this: If you were in a bar, drinking and hanging out with a bunch of people, and in that group of people was one guy that you didn’t know was a mixed martial arts champion. He knows he can kick the **** out of anyone in that bar, and you happen to pick a fight with him. He doesn’t tell you what he is, you take a swing at him and the next thing you know you have a broken jaw and you’re on the way to the hospital.

Yeah, it is accurate. Why someone would accurately compare themselves to a guy in a bar punching random people while trying to garner sympathy is a bit beyond me though.

I keep waiting for the phrase "welcome to Hollywood" to show up in one of these stories.

I also expect to discover that the controller comes with a customizable beer tent.

I got a lot of mileage out of the original Neverwinter Nights a faw years back, and still open it up occasionally. Sequel lost some of the balance the original had, to me.

Available for free download, it seems.

I've spent some time today looking at a variety of games to branch out into away from the games I normally tend to play. So with that said, I plan on buying one of these and I'm wondering thoughts on any of them...

Mass Effect 2 (do I need to play the first one?)
Bioshock
Grand Theft Auto
Skyrim (do I need to play Oblivion first?)
Fallout 3

ME2 - You don't really need to play the 1st, but I highly recommend it. The story is outstanding and both the story and many of the characters carry over from the 1st. The gameplay in 2 is much better, but this is a trilogy story and you don't want to miss out on a third of the story.

Bioshock - I recently played through and enjoyed it more than I expected. It's a shooter that's far longer than most shooters today (I think roughly 20 hours IIRC). Excellent story here as well.

GTA - If you're talking about GTA 4 this would be the one game on your list I would skip if I had to. I enjoyed it, but I'd play every other game on your list before this.

Skyrim - The must play game from 2011 IMO. You don't have to have any experience with The Elder Scrolls series to enjoy this. A great game no one should skip out on.

Fallout 3 - I'm a huge fan of the fallout series so 3 finally being done by Bethesda was exciting for me. It didn't disappoint at all. The feeling of exploration and wonder wasn't matched until Skyrim was released. Make sure you get GOTY edition or whatever has the DLC. Point Lookout is fantastic.

You don't need to play Oblivion at all. Don't pass up Skyrim, it's a great game. I'm up over 100 hours now.
Fallout 3 is fantastic. So much game play and lots of fun.

Hey boys and girls can you tell me if the controls for LA Noire are good? It's 12.49 on steam. Is it a bad port?

I'd recommend Fallout 3 out of those. Now that I have several months of hindsight I'd say it was one of the best games I've played. I used to put Fallout 1,2 and Deus Ex 1 in their own class, that's the first one in a long time that matches them.

That said I haven't played Skyrim, I'm holding out for when I'm home for more than 1 day a week.

So playing Uncharted 3 on the PS3, I really want to flip the y-axis on ht right stick. Most games let you do this, but I don't see a way to do it on this game. It makes it very uncomfortable to play.

Very fun read, thanks.

The whole thing seems sleazy. a company that calls a controller that is obviously for gamers a disability aid is the type of company that would hire Paul.

In one of the many articles I read about this, it talked about the guy who created it, a teacher for a disabled student. Since that is what it was initially designed for, how is calling it that sleazy?

I don't want to slag on the guy that hired him either, but even he said the dude was rough around the edges. And another company they were working with killed that professional relationship because of Paul and warned this situation would happen.

In short, it's not like the creator didn't have fair warning, through direct and indirect means.

This company (smartly) was able to exploit an idea with good intentions into something quite the opposite; a seemingly unfair advantage for able bodied gamers. This controller is a crutch, a Performance Enhancing Device.

-GBA and NES shop coming to 3DS
-A bunch of free virtual console games (20) for 3DS early adopters so they're not totally screwed by the price cut
-Super Mario 3D, Mario Kart, Star Fox, and Kid Icarus all confirmed for Christmas this year (unfortunately, with those first 2, I worry about quality since we haven't heard much about the development of them so I'm concerned that they'll be rushed)

Trying to find some other posts but ran across this. Hey! This looks funny now

3DS is 12th all time and still going with over 40M sold. For all the chatter about next gen systems (which are, admittedly supply choked right now) this holiday season, the 3DS is selling nearly a million units a week and outselling the PS4 and XBone combined. And Super Mario 3D Land will be one of the best games of the decade and is the best game on the system.
