Werewolf LXXIII Sign up thread - The Rise of the Great Old Ones

Ok this is the sign-up thread for my new game which will be based in the world of HP Lovecraft universe. I'm sketching out some details, but I'm hoping to have it all figured out by Friday, but it could possibly be Monday. I actually have some research to do as I'm not going off of one specific Lovercraft story, but am coming up with something new based on his world, focusing on the impending mass rise of the Great Old Ones, including Cthulu Yog-Sothoth, Azathoth, etc.

Details will be put up as they come to me, so check this thread for updates on possible roles and such.

Anyway, sign up below if your interested. I'm hoping to have around 15 players, but I can deal with a few more or less.

In! First!
(Don't know anything about Lovecraft, but a friend speaks of him highly.)

Realistically, I need a break. The Chess game took a ton of effort on my part between all the posts, PM's with the wolves and PM's with Narc.

BUT, with that said, if you need an alternate or someone to fill a spot that has to be filled, give me a shout.

I'm doubtful if this is starting next week because I've got a huge project going on over this weekend and bleeding into next week. If the start date moves out (probably after Memorial Day) then I'm more likely to be in.

I know absolutely nothing about lovecraft's stories and world, I'm just assuming a massive pile of rotting vegitation must stink something feirce...

Looks like this might be delayed until After next week. I don't want to put in the work if there aren't many players. I think hoops suggestion of after Memorial Day is a good one.

Perhaps someone can run a Small Game in the meantime?

IIRC memorial day is where we saw a big drop off in previous years.

I would be happy to run a small game in the mean time.

I'll play. Just note that I won't be very active in the evenings Mon-Thur as I have to deal with the little ones and often fall asleep while putting Aemon to bed.

Well, it seems my "break" will just be the in-between time and not an actual game. I'm in for this.

God almighty, this is brutal Jackal. I really thought we would be much more competitive but this is pretty embarrassing thus far. At this point, I'm just hoping we score a goal this series!

I'm concerned that PurdueBrad is damaging the rep of WW players everywhere with his first pick in the "FOFC Sex Symbol" draft.

If you win game 3 the series can change but if you don't it's over in 4 or 5. I won't lie, it would be amusing to see the Penguins held scoreless through the entire finals.

See now...this is what I get for listening to my students. Although I will claim that their logic may be correct, there is enough depth in the other categories that I can cherry-pick late and grab a couple off-categories early.

Hi guys. Sorry to wait to update you about what's going on.

Here's the deal - I can start tomorrow afternoon if you guys want, but I will be incapacitated on Thursday, since I'm finally having these damned wisdom teeth that have plagued me for the past few months, removed at 9 am that morning. I'll be working all Wednesday night, will get out that morning at 7 am, and then pretty much go to my surgery. I'm sure I will be drugged up, exhausted from no sleep and totally incoherent, so I wouldn't able to do anything that day. I should be better by Friday, and could continue then.

So what I'm asking you guys is, do you want to start tomorrow, and have a really long 1st first day, or would be ok to start on Saturday? Let me know.

Dola.

I could attempt to do very brief and probably very sloppy results on Wednesday if it means not losing any players out of boredom. Hopefully the lack sleep and anesthetics will wear off a bit by the evening.

I've just been hearing horror stories, and my oral surgeon told me to plan on taking a day or two off of work, which I will happily do.

Schmidty,

I would say start early, and see if you can recruit somebody not playing to possible help out with GM issues. If you can't find anybody, just go with a long day 1.

Good luck with the surgery.

Best of luck with the surgery - it was a snap for me until the dry socket kicked in. I would not have wanted to be running a WW game for the week or so that I was dealing with that little side effect.

I would say let 'er rip now if you can find a pinch-hitter for a day or else slide down one game if you want to play it safe with the wisdom teeth. If they are going to give you issues then a Saturday start date may not work all that well either.

By the way, the wisdom teeth are supposed to be a bigger pain if you are older. I think I was around 32 or so when I got mine pulled, which I understand is pretty late. If you get them done in your early/mid 20s I think that usually works out better for the patient.

Damn. People keep wanting to scare me. I'm 32. Argh.

I'll think about it, and let everyone know tomorrow morning. I don't want to keep pushing myself down, but I don't want to push anyone else down. Again, I apologize for the wait.

I had my wisdom teeth out and the only time there was really much pain was the next morning (6-8 hours of sleep with no drugs), but after that it wasn't bad at all. I was pretty incapacitated that first evening, but I was just watching TV, computers might not've been a problem.
