*NEW*: What is your *LEAST* favorite option for starting the league?
Let's try this. Maybe we can get a feel if there's anything that people just hate. At this point, it is probably a decision for the league administration to make, but at least I think this might help to guide the decision, since nothing remotely approaching a consensus is evident from the other two polls.

Live draft for me.
While it is indeed a great way to pick and choose your roster, and put your stamp on your team from the start, it is very time consuming, especially for me since I feel I have the need to know intimately the 2000 odd players entering the allocation draft...

Live draft. I don't see the point of intimately selecting your starting roster when your ambition will be to replace 90% of them. Also too time-consuming (including preparations to be successful).

I have no desire to do a live draft here. Can we really expect to get more than 15 or 20 of us for the full draft? Heck, by the 15th round, we are all going to be going out of our minds. No thanks. Preference draft is fine if there are a lot of people who hate the histroy option.

I'm against a pre-sim for reasons stated in other threads.
I think its funny that right now, it appears that after all that discussion, the default option used to start a new league is still favored. |

Is there an option to draft 10 rounds and let the computer finish it? I don't see why we can't do a forum/list draft in the time frame for starting the league?

I think a better way of saying that is that it is probably the least offensive.

Live draft was fun for GEFL, but I really don't have the free time to do it justice this time...

Live draft would be hard for me, but i don't mind either if you decide to go for it.

Not voting in this, since I'm not opposed to any of them.

With only 2 votes left, standard preference draft seems to be taking it.

Yeah, I think it's pretty clear from the three votes that a standard pref draft is going to be the least annoying option.

I have to say, while I found parts of the Presim scenario compelling, I just came upon something while doing an export for my team in the USFL that confirms my lack of enthusiasm for it.
While looking over my team's individual single-season records, only TWO of them were set while I was at the helm. The only player in my record book still on the team is the placekicker (we're in 2009). I almost feel like I took a team, moved them to a new town and, for some reason, took their history with me though I have no connection to it. When I look at my IAFL (or whatever we call this) team, I want to feel a connection with all their history. As I said in an earlier thread, this is the first MP team that I've GM'ed since inception, so it may be different for me than others. However, I really look forward to being responsible for every decision, from day one.

I've abstained because I'm still on the fence, but have people considered just a 2- or 4-round live draft, followed by preferences?

The only thing that's come up so far is the full 53 (not popular) and what VPI's GEFL league did (2-weeks worth of live draft....which equated to 20-rounds). 2 or 4 rounds seems kind of short...but would potentially take care of the first tier super-star players. |

Interesting thought, since I think the biggest interest/concern out of preference draft is the top-tier guys.. Problem is, we'd have to rely on list drafting after 2-4 rounds rather than in-game, right? That would be pretty daunting imo.

Am I reading this correctly to mean that in MP you can do a short draft then set sliders?
