A situational RB and WR suspended for the first 4 games for Williams? ugh.. pass. Unless there are other reasons due to the point system (PPR, Return Yardage, etc).

Damn man.. did you try to assemble a crop of WR's that poor? If so, you did a good job.
You won't be able to use him for 25% of the season and not to mention coming into a new system and being rusty so, you are looking at a player maybe hitting their stride around week 8. Seems if you want to trade Williams for a WR, you could do it at week 1 and get the same type of value. What receivers do you feel will be available at the draft?

Our draft is in progress....I had my first pick in round 4..at the ass-end..lol got me a LB//the last decent one. Novarro Bowman...I might get lucky with some backup/Sp type receivers..... starting round 5 soon
2 years ago I had good receivers including the real Moss.....But I had no rb's..My best was Benson and we all know how he was 2 yrs ago. Now I have no receivers but decent backs Williams,Benson, Mcfadden and the pothead Williams Last edited by Apathetic Lurker : 05-12-2010 at 11:02 AM. |

How many teams are in the league?? Trading D Williams for Holmes seems to be just solving one problem to create another. I would not feel comfortable having Benson/Mcfadden and Williams as my 3 RBs.

What do you have for starters on offense? 2 RB, 2 WR and a TE, 2,2,1 and a flex, 2RB, 3WR, TE, etc?
I think Crabtree will continue his good play and give you one solid option. After that you are lacking. I'd keep DeAngelo Williams and try to move Darren McFadden. Do you have anyone in your league that would still be impressed by his high draft position? Maybe you can get a good young WR back in return, or alternatively, package McFadden with one of your current receivers to upgrade at WR. |

hell no, don't make that trade
Hester will be fine this year (read fine, not greatness but decentness) Crabtree also (Crabtree could even explode) Santana Moss benefits quite a bit from Mcnabb who knows what Bess does, but it won't be horrible (prob not good, but who knows if bess can get on the field, he should see some looks cause everyone will concentrate on Marshall) and Michael Jenkins is solid/ fine also you honestly will be fine for WRs and Holmes wont help nearly as much as you think

triple dola , and Burton showed flashes as did Robiskie. Stay pat for now , at least wait till mid pre season / end pre season
for the sake of things lets say Holmes matches last season minus the 4 games that equals 59 catches and 936 yards with around 4 tds? I think Jenkins, Moss, Crabtree and Hester all can or could do this give or take a fewish catches/yards. They may not get there, but I don't think its worth giving up D'angelo also Bush isnt someone to lean on all season and imho isn't worth it at all. BTW I'm pretty sure Levi Brown is most likely available in your league /snickers and runs away...

levi brown will be picked up by me with my 6th rounder..lol
From what I hear the raiders might use Mcfadden out of the backfield more, and with a better sort of qb than last year he might actually do ok... Yeah, I think i'll stay put |

I like Bush more than McFadden. It will be interesting to see whether they use him in a Brandon Jacobs type 1st/2nd down role and McFadden as a change of pace or vice versa.
I would still use McFadden's high draft status and potential upside to your advantage though and try and get a good young WR with upside. But if McFadden's value is low across your league and most owners are down on him, hold on. |

I agree with much of what has been said. Dont trade premium RBs for WRs(unless they are Fitz or Andre Johnson) and 3rd down backs. Wrs are a dime a dozen unless you can get one of the 2-3 at the head of the class.

This sounds like a league where you get to keep all players for as long as you want so upper end WRs (guys like Colston and Marshall for example) do carry a more value in a league like this because they usually have more years of top 15 production. Still that original trade was ridiculous. |

In a league as deep as he is in, no.

Also, for anyone who might be interested in trying out a league like this:
I commish a free 12-team 0.5 PPR dynasty/career league on fleaflicker.com. The roster size is 24 players and you get to keep all 24 players if you want. The league is pretty laid back in terms of offering trades, but everyone who is returning is very good about not starting injured players or players on bye weeks. The league is composed primarily of people from footballguys.com. I'm looking for one owner to participate in a 3-team dispersal draft of players and rookie draft picks from the three teams that aren't returning. Free agents are also available to be drafted. I will use myfantasyleague.com for the dispersal and rookie drafts. Each will have a 6 hour time limit per pick. I'd like to start the dispersal draft early next week. I've posted most of the details at hxxp://forums.footballguys.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=531809 If interested, PM me. Last edited by Racer : 05-13-2010 at 10:34 AM. |

I know you're a fellow WNYer, but:
The ENTIRE Buffalo QB corps!?!? The KC corps and JP Losman really does add to the comedy factor. Not to get chuckles at your expense.... |

Its just the way it fell..Had losman so I figured I need his backup so got Edwards..Then Losman left so I went and got Fitzpatrick(trade for 5th rounder) as insurance to Edwards..Broehm was a last week of 2009 waiver afterthought just in case he might end up playing one day. If you notice we have 16 teams so getting a stud qb as a starter or even backup is hard to do because there arent 16 stud qbs available. My Qbs did get me a 10-4 record so I cant complain too much. We get to keep 46 players active with a 4 man taxi so taking a chance on a broehm is worth it. Cassell was a trade I made to "improve" my qb corps..lol....Now at least I have a viable qb for my bye week or injury..No more Derek Anderson/Pat White leading the team.... And why not chuckle? I do...... Last edited by Apathetic Lurker : 05-14-2010 at 08:01 AM. |
