Razing Hell - The Struggles And Triumphs Of The Alabama Tech Razorbacks

This is my dynasty thread for my teambuilder team in which I'm doing a dynasty on. I started it on DSS and since it is occasionally down, I'm doing it on both. This dynasty features complex storylines about the players and coaches. I currently have gotten deep into season two on DSS. I plan on copying and pasting all information here and then post updates at the same moment. Hope you enjoy.

Season One - Chapter One: New Players, New Home, New Rules
Coach Winston Miles sat in the passenger seat as Offensive Coordinator Michael Wells drove towards Alabama. Winston Miles had just won a high school state championship up in Pennsylvania after rebuilding the school's horrible team. Just a week ago he was called at his house in Hershey, Pennsylvania and informed that he was being offered the new Head Coach position of the newest acquired FBS team, the Alabama Tech Razorbacks. He happily accepted the offer and here he was now, approaching the university.
"I don't know Steve, I really don't believe that Miles has what it takes to be a college coach. His way of 'getting to know' the players always fails in college, it's happened before and it will happen now," the radio blurted out into the small truck.
"Please turn that crap off," Coach Miles grunted.
Coach Wells leaned forward and turned it down. Both coaches could see the university up ahead. The buildings at Alabama Tech were rather messy looking and the grass outside was mostly dried out. Student's litter covered tables and yards. Not the most appealing campus in the world, but he wasn't here to look pretty, he was here to kick some ass. The small red truck pulled in under the bleachers and the two coaches went into the locker room to meet the 2011 Alabama Tech Razorbacks.
The locker room was practically falling apart. Benches crooked, lockers smashed in, and no air conditioning. The coaching offices smelled like sulfur water, which is horrible. Coach Miles wiped his sweat-covered face and was rethinking his desicion. Maybe he should have just waited it out until a better offer came. Not just jump on right when it rode by.
"The players are in the weight room, let's go meet them," Coach Wells spoke with sweat dripping off his mustache.
Coach Miles nodded and the two pushed open the rusty doors, revealing a room full of players, and Defensive Coordinator Marcus Williamson. Most of the players stopped lifting to observe their new coaches. But one didn't stop, a very muscular player in the back benching what looked like about 400 pounds.
"I would appreciate if you would stop back there, and listen to what I have to say," said Coach Miles in a extremely firm tone.
The player took one more rep and slammed the bar back into the holder. He got up and had a pissed off look on his face. This unruly kid looked about 6'1 and was built like a frick'n tank. Siderburns that wrapped down his jaw made him look like he belonged in the seventies. He walked up to coach and stared him down, but coach returned a frightening stare.

"We don't need your goddam help down here!" the kid yelled into coaches face and stomped out.
"Who the hell is that?" asked Coach Miles to Coach Williamson.
"That's Blair Huff, our starting middle linebacker," Coach Williamson almost laughed.
Before Winston could reply, another player walked up to him. This cat was much smaller and skinnier, "Name's Colin Calhoun, I'll be your starting wide out. I'll catch like 100 passes for 1500 yards with 20 touchdowns on the side. Oh yeah, my 4.27 will get me like 10 returns for touchdowns," he laughed but meant every word of it.
"Well Colin, how about we worry about beating UCONN in two weeks, then we can focus on getting some stats for your dumb ass," Coach Miles replied, giving Colin a huge grin on his face as he sat back.
"Okay, so is anyone else going to come up here and tell me how good they are? No. Okay good, now let me tell you something. All of you players are here because you screwed up at some other college. This IS your second chance for greatness. I will give my half if you give me yours. I truly believe you all can succeed but not individualy, as a team. Now give me a Razorbacks on three, 1, 2, 3."
"Razorbacks.."

Season One - Chapter Two: Oh, Hell No!
"Okay coach, we got our recruiting board up and schedule set and done. C-USA is not gonna be very easy, I don't suppose. Let me look on the list on what to do next....redshirting," Coach Williamson read from his clipboard.
"Let me take a look at our freshmen...mark them off on your list as I call them out. Runningback Garner and Quarterback Hollis," Coach Miles spoke.
"You sure coach?"
"Of course, why wouldn't I be?" Coach Miles snapped at Coach Wells.
"Derrick Hollis is our best quarterback and arguably our best player, possibly in the C-USA. The boy is 6'3, 250 pounds, runs a 4.5 and can throw fifty yard bombs. Here's some background history on him....," spoke Coach Wells while reading in some files, "Number one ranked high school quarterback Derrick Hollis cut for character issues from the Troy University Trojans, Hollis looks for back up plan. Derrick Hollis is the real deal, coach."
"Listen here Michael, MJ Colbert is our starting SENIOR quarterback, he can actually provide leadership unlike Derrick Hollis."
"Winston, call in Derrick and I promise his attitude is good."
Coach Williamson motioned at the door for Derrick to come in while everyone was getting ready. Derrick walked in, with a smirk on his face. First impression on coach was that this kid was a severe smart ass. He seemed to be more focused on his dreads than on football.
"Hello Derrick, tell me some things about yourself," Coach Miles spoke from across his crappy desk.
"Well coach, my name is D-Errick Hollis. I am probably the best player this conference has ever seen. I be scoring in the day and be scoring in the night, if you catch my drift coach," Derrick smiled with a big dumbass smile.
"One D-Errick, I don't give a hell about what you do at night. Two, you are a long away from being the best player in this conference. You got Dominique Davis at ECU and Case Keenum at Houston, you're like 89th best in this conference. Three, we're redshirting you."
"Oh, Hell No! I'm better than that fruity white boy in there! Coach, I AM the best player on this entire team," he growled, now standing up with fire in his eyes.
"Go get dressed Derrick, you got to be nice and ready for the practice squad," Coach Miles replied.
Derrick stormed out of the office while slamming the door behind him. The offense still ran pretty smooth throughout the first week. QB MJ Colbert (SR 67) looked solid along with running backs Antwan McFarland (SR 65) and Isaac Goddard (JR 63). WR Colin Calhoun (SO 65) had the crazy speed he bragged about but the crappiest hands since any Browns wide reciever known to man. WR Daniel Wells (SO 65) didn't have the speed of Calhoun but did indeed have some shifty hands. Preseason all-conference left guard Pierre Tyree (JR 81) looked fantastic but no other O-Line or D-Line showed anything special. Middle Linebacker Blair Huff (JR 79) was the craziest player on the field by far, injuring two players on no pads day. Outside Linebacker Jeff Woodard (FR 65) and Tim Hawkins (SR 68) were both solid players but were still in Huff's shadow. Cornerback Darius Moody (SR 68) looked promising as well as free safety Byron Childress (JR 66). The kickers and punters were such a joke that they wouldn't start on a Pee Wee team, soccer pussies. The team seemed as ready as possible for the UCONN game and they actually believed that they had a shot.

The first ever game of the Alabama Tech Razorbacks was against the Conneticut Huskies. MJ Colbert struggled badly the first half only getting 36 yards passing and a pick. Both of the running backs had great performances but both times in the redzone, they turned it over. The defense, led by the tackling monster Blair Huff, kept it close with the score at the half being 10-0. To start the second half, Colin Calhoun put his money where is his mouth was and easily took a kick return to the house. Bringing the game to its closest point. UCONN's constant use of draws and PA's had the Razorback defense on their heels and by the fourth quarter the game was out of reach. UCONN's defense held strong only allowing a fluke 70 yard run by Antwan McFarland.
Conneticut Huskies 39
Alabama Tech Razorbacks 14
Players slammed helmets in the locker room as coaches walked on into their offices with nothing to say. The players had played their hearts out but UCONN was just on another talent level. MJ Colbert was almost in tears outside in the locker room, throwing a total of four picks in the game. He knew the coaches would be considering un-redshirting Derrick Hollis.
"McFarland and Huff really proved why they should be captains. 167 yards rushing and 13 tackles really proved we have leaders on both sides of the ball," Coach Miles discussed with his coordinators.
"Coach, I know you don't want to but Hollis will have to be at least in the mix with our offense. MJ can't get it done," Coach Wells shook his head.
"Very well, call Hollis in here."
Coach Williamson leaned out into the locker room and yelled for Derrick. MJ's heart sank but no one got up. Derrick hadn't even arrived to the game. Coach Williamson informed Winston on this and it was no surprise to him considering Derrick's attitude. But what he wasn't expecting was a random call in his office around one in the morning, right before he was about to leave.
"Coach Miles' office," he answered.

"Coach, can you come pick me up. It's Derrick," he spoke in a somber tone.
"Now why should I? Don't you remember stomping out of my office before cussing me out?" he sternly threw back.
"I don't have anyone else to call coach, I'm in jail."

Season One - Chapter Three: A Tryer and A Liar
Coach Miles sat in the police station as a guard went to go get Derrick. Coach Miles was as pissed as a person could be pissed. More pissed than Ray Charles reading a Where's Waldo book. More pissed than a carload of gays getting pulled over for doing a 69 in a 55 zone. Derrick, accompanied by two huge guards, came out of the swinging metal doors that led to the cells. Derrick had a busted lip, a welp on his eyebrow, and a chipped tooth. The guards unhooked his hand cuffs and Derrick walked up to coach. Before he could say 'thank you' or 'sorry', coach grabbed him by the collar and dragged him out to his car. The two got in, even though Derrick had the piss scared out of him.
"Okay Derrick, I only have one question for you, give me one reason why you should not be cut from the team?" Coach spoke with a soft but very firm tone.
"I honestly don't know coach. I hope you just know how good I am," he replied, sounding like the cocky Derrick that he had encountered prior.
"That's not a very good reason, Hollis. You didn't just miss the game, you got arrested. You know how many people are going to be outraged if I don't cut you! Do you!" Coach yelled as they pulled into a red light.
"Coach, here's what happened. On my way to the game, my friend told me to come to his house for a bit, so I took a quick drive. I fell asleep there and when I got up I tripped over my friend's body and hit my face on a table. I yelled, someone called the police, and I was arrested because apparently my friend had been beaten up while I was dozing."

Coach Miles slammed on the breaks and looked eye to eye with Derrick, "I don't give a hell what happened, but don't give me that load of crap that you tripped. You could very well be our starter next year but MJ is the leader this year. We were considering you, up until this incident. Get out of my car, you can walk the rest of the way."
Sunday was the day that all the players got off, to nurse their injuries. But Monday they started back at it. This week was a BYE but that didn't stop the coach from driving his men to full exhaustion. Kent State was up next week and another loss would have Coach Miles crapping himself. Even to Coach's stern talk to Derrick, he didn't show for a full week of practice. The team looked dead, with the exception of Antwan and Blair. Blair always had a eye to kill, someone must've have really messed him up when he was younger, coach assumed. He knew that they needed to have someone other than the captains to pump them up. But even the best coaches can't fix some things. You need players to judge their peers.
"Blair! Antwan! Come here!" Coach screamed from the sidelines on a Wednesday evening practice.
The two ran over, Antwan with his chocolate colored skin and Blair with his pale whiteness. The two team captains couldn't be any different. Antwan was black, Blair was white. Antwan was polite and respectful, Blair was a straight up asshole. Antwan liked to avoid contact, Blair would kill a basket of puppies if they played football.

"Yes, coach," Antwan said while taking his helmet off, Blair just stared at coach.
"Are team needs some...spunk. I can't find anyone to shake things up myself, any ideas?"
"I say we get some mammoth-sized grizzlies in hitting drills and wolves for sprints," Blair replied sarcastically but acted like he actually wanted to get mauled by a bear.

"Blair, shut the hell up," Coach snapped back at him.
"Ummm, that Miguel kid seems like he could play," Antwan offered.
"Miguel? Miguel Watson? The 6'2, two fifty, defensive end that benches a mere 300 and runs a 5.3?" Coach Miles laughed.
"I was just giving my opinion coach," Antwan laughed as he buckled up his chinstrap and ran back on the field.

Coach stood there and watched Miguel stand on the other side. He wasn't talking like any of the other players, he stood there and watched every play. Like every play he could learn something new. "Watson in for Marcus," Coach yelled as Antwan looked over and gave him a grin.
Coach gave him a 'shut up' look back as Miguel lined up. His stance wasn't very great and his start was slow. Right Tackle Jason Ball (SR 66) reached with his dominate 6'5 size and pushed Miguel (SO 61) down like a lifeless dummy. Isaac ran the right side power and looked to be gone but stopped instantly and fell to the warm ground. Miguel stood up from the midst of the pile and bragged for making the tackle. The kid had heart for sure. The next play was a Split-Back Pro Texas pass routine. Back-up QB Eugene Brittain (FR 61) dropped back and eyed Daniel Wells in the endzone thirty yards away. His arm flew back but was smashed in the side by some number 58. It was Miguel who had easily swam by Jason and sacked the quarterback. Coach Wells called a few more passes as he read Coach Miles' mind, to see if Miguel just got lucky or was that damn good. Three passes, three sacks, and a very happy Miguel.
After practice, the coaches gathered in the office and for once, didn't discuss football. They just celebrated on a great day of practice. Coach Miles, with the help of Antwan, had found a star. So while they relaxed, Coach Williamson clicked on the TV to the local Alabama sports channel. With five teams now in Alabama (Alabama, Alabama Tech, Auburn, Troy, and UAB), the state decided to create a personal ESPN just for Alabama sports.
"So Dan, who do you believe is going to win the Alabama Belt this year?"
"Well Steve, even though Auburn has a great running back in Michael Dyer, Alabama has an even better, more experienced Trent Richardson."
"I agree with you on that. In other news, we discuss probably the lowest rated Alabama team, Alabama Tech."
"Yeah, their first loss against UCONN wasn't pretty, but it did show hope in Antwan McFarland and Blair Huff. But the biggest news at the moment is with highly rated, redshirt freshman quarterback Derrick Hollis. Hollis was recently arrested and Coach Miles didn't seem to have much of a punishment for him. This is exactly what I was talking about earlier. This coach wants to make friends but the media will eat him alive. Especially with this new statement released earlier by Derrick Hollis, here it is."

"What the hell? Turn it up," Coach Miles pointed to the TV.
The video started with Derrick Hollis standing at some podium in a suit with a piece of paper in his hand. He started to begin his speech, "I would like to apologize to the university for embarrassing them. But I didn't just come here to apologize, I also came here to tell the public my story. Coach Miles told me I was not a talented quarterback and he was going to reshirt me for crazy reasons. When he picked me up from the police station, he dropped me off in the middle of nowhere after he cursed me out. I had reasons for what I did, that is all," He finished, ignoring all paparazzi and exiting.
Coach Miles almost ripped the arm off the chair he was sitting in.

Season One - Chapter Four: Getting Some
"I hope you all know that I have a taken strict action on removing Derrick Hollis from the team. That is all on that subject, now how about we go pick up a win at Kent State. Go Razorbacks!" Coach Miles chanted as he stepped off the podium.
The whole mess with Hollis was solved rather simple with Coach Miles just cutting him from the team. Derrick didn't have much of a comeback so he just disappeared from the media. Coach Miles continued on getting the team pumped up for the big game on Saturday. Kent State wasn't the best team but had a great running offense and a well coached defense.
During the first two practices Antwan and Blair still shined greatly. Miguel was great on the pass rush but really needed to work on run stopping. Antwan grew nervous even with his good practices because Isaac Goddard ran almost everyone on defense over. Also, the way he played fit the offense better than Antwan's play style. Isaac continued to progress and Antwan slowly fell down. Coach Miles needed to find one play that they could use over and over against Kent State. The dagger in the heart he called it. After going through his whole offense, he figured it out. Split Back Normal HB Draw. But it only seemed to work when Isaac ran it to Pierre Tyree's side. The two players were in perfect sync, until Friday.
Pierre was on his way back to his crappy little dorm. Lineman had to stay at practice a little longer than other players to study Kent State's defensive scheme. Pierre and Isaac had been dorm mates for two years straight and were real tight. The only rules were that Pierre didn't mess with the thirty girls Isaac brought home and that Isaac didn't mess with Pierre's long time girlfriend, Sara.
Isaac opened his indigo colored, wooden door and threw his bags down onto the couch. Practice was around 105 degrees that day and Isaac just stripped down to his boxers to cool off in front of the fan. After cooling off, Isaac sat down in his chair and looked for the remote to the twenty year old television. He remembered last night that Pierre had taken it into his room to watch some "Adult" movies. So he got up and walked into Pierre's room to look for it. There lied a revealing Sara.
"Ahh, where the hell is Pierre?!" She screamed while covering up her body with sheets.
"Ummm, he's still at practice. My bad, I was just looking for the remote," he spoke, looking ridiculous in his boxers.
He quickly searched the floor and saw it on the bed. Isaac awkwardly reached near Sarah as the dorm room opened. At that exact moment, Isaac may have literally crapped himself. He thought as quickly as he could. Tell him the truth and hope he believes it? Or hide your ass in the closet? Isaac used his 30 inch vertical to hop over Sara and crash into the closet while throwing the doors shut. Pierre walked into his room and Sara and him exchanged smiles. He hopped onto the bed and kissed her.

"We can finish after I put my stuff up, okay?" he smiled while walking towards the closet.
"No, wait. Let's just start now," she replied, trying to save Isaac's ass.

"Nah, just give me a seco-," he stopped as he opened the door revealing a half-naked Isaac, "You have got to be kidding me!"

Pierre flipped off Sara as he grabbed Isaac and launched him into the wall. "Dude chill, I was just looking for the remote," Isaac pleaded as Pierre decked him across the face. Isaac juked Pierre and headed for the door. Pierre chased him, using more than his 4.9 speed. There they were, two football players running through the doors and one in his underwear. Eventually, Isaac got away and stayed at Antwan's place. Two of the most needed players on the team were fighting and it didn't look good for Coach Miles.

The team was extremely nervous because losing would have them being laughed at by the entire state. The first quarter was the most terrible quarter on the season. Blair missed tackles and Miguel was being pancaked every play. MJ's arm was accurate but Colin and Daniel were being nailed at the right moment to jar the ball loose. Antwan had a solid 44 yards the first quarter but Kent State was running like a train. Score at the end of the first was 14-0. After a quick scream speech by Coach Wells, the team got their act together. Antwan turned it up and scored 3 more times before the half but the defense still couldn't keep it together. Miguel had 2 sacks and Hawkins and Blair both had 8 tackles a piece. Every third and long, they would get lucky and get it. The score at halftime was 34-21. Coach Miles knew his only hope was in star running back Antwan McFarland. They just needed to outscore Kent State and that's what he planned on doing.
"Here's the first play of the fourth quarter. Down by 13, Colbert hands it to McFarland. McFarland cuts up the gap, he jukes Robinson, he gets outside! He's at the forty, the thirty, the twenty, and OHHH!" the commentator yelled.
Antwan had been hit from the side, right in the knee. It had been a 23 yard rush but Antwan didn't get up to celebrate. He squirmed and held his knee. It didn't look good as they carried him off the field. Isaac Goddard went in and was scared as hell when they called the Draw to Pierre's side. First play, Pierre looked like a matador and let the tackle smash Isaac into the dirt. Next play, same thing. Then, Isaac redirected the third play and got around the corner to score. Isaac turned it up as the clock ran down. One more rushing score to give them the lead and slip screen for another touchdown. Just like that, the game had ended and Alabama Tech had won their first game ever.
Alabama Tech Razorbacks: 42
Kent State Golden Flashes: 34
Tensions were high but next week was an easy game against FCS-West. But crushing news came in that night, to say that Antwan McFarland was out for...

Season One - Chapter Five: Here O' Win
"Isaac, with Antwan out for four weeks, we're going to need you to play some good football these next few games. We got VMI this week, UCF, Tulane, and Tulsa. Three conference games that could decide our fate. Will you step up to the challenge?"
"Yes, sir."
"Okay, now go get ready for practice," Coach Miles pointed.
At this point in the season, the stats looked like this:
PASSING: MJ Colbert - 178 Yards 2 Touchdowns
RUSHING: Antwan McFarland - 235 Yards 4 Touchdowns ; Isaac Goddard - 92 Yards 2 Touchdowns
RECEIVING: Daniel Wells - 86 Yards 1 Touchdown ; Colin Calhoun - 43 Yards 0 Touchdowns
DEFENSE: Blair Huff - 23 Tackles 1 Sack 2 FF 0 INT ; Tim Hawkins - 15 Tackles 0 Sacks 0 FF 0 INT ; Miguel Watson 5 Tackles 3 Sacks 0 FF 0 INT
RETURNING: Colin Calhoun - 388 Yards 1 Touchdown

It was a Tuesday and the VMI game was on a Friday. Coach Miles knew his job would be endangered if he were to lose to a FCS team. The Razorbacks needed a pep talk by who other than their prestigous head coach. He walked out into the locker room and was about to give a speech to his already pumped team. Even though Antwan had hurt his knee, he was still there to get the team all ralled up. As coach stood there, he looked around for his other team captain, Blair.
"Where the hell is Blair?" Coach Miles asked the team.
"He's in the bathroom, coach," answered MJ.
"He goes in there every frick'n day before practice," Coach said to himself.
Something didn't seem quite right unless Blair had bowels that moved at the same precise time every day. Coach Miles grabbed the bathroom door handle and yanked it open. There sat Blair, with a needle in his arm. Blair freaked and cut himself open pretty bad when he saw coach. Coach turned back to the team and yelled for them to go on out. He wiped his face, realizing that he had another huge problem on his hands. His All-American middle linebacker was a drug addict.
Coach Miles grabbed the sirenge and yelled, "What the hell is this?!"
"It's nothing coach, just something to get me pumped," Blair replied with a growl.
Coach read the label and almost screamed when he figured what it was, "It's goddam Herion!" He threw the needle onto the ground, covering the dirty floor with broken glass and drugs.
"Coach! That cost me two hundreds bucks!"
Coach Miles grabbed Blair by the collar and pulled him face to face. "You got a hell of future, but not if you use crap like this. If I catch you again, you can kiss your college career goodbye."
Alabama Tech's defense was playing like pros all week. They seemed to be kicking ass on Wednesday or the offense may have just been lost without
Antwan.
"Full House Sweep Left," Coach Wells screamed from behind his clipboard.
"Ready, Set, Three Back Motion! Three Back Motion! Hut!" MJ screamed while taking the snap.

Isaac took the pitch and cut it up. Pierre reached for right end David Alexander (SR 65) but seemed to olay him right to Isaac. This had already happened a few times and Isaac's elbow bled from abuse. David Alexander towered over Isaac as he crushed him into the ground.

"Pierre, what kind of pussy blocking was that? Act like your Rosie frick'n O'donnell and pretend Davie is some lesbian with big ole' titties. Get some hands on him boy!"
"I ain't blocking for that piece of crap," Pierre said while throwing his helmet down and walking off the field. Coach just shook his head as his team slowly fell apart.

Coach Miles was very nervous about letting Blair continue on the team. He kept close eye on him the whole pregame. It was the second game at Razorback Stadium and the crowd had almost doubled since the last game. Great, more pressure. The first quarter was a very dominate performance by Alabama Tech. MJ's arm was like Tom Brady's as he read the field perfectly. Daniel Wells had two touchdowns in the first quarter and the defense shut down VMI's great pass attack. The two players who had made a mark on coach the first day he was there, both had legendary second quarters.
"Bush goes back to pass. Huff comes up the middle on a rush. Ohh! He violently rips Bush down by his collar. But wait, fumble! Huff grabs the ball, he could go! Touchdown Razorbacks!"
"Two minutes left in the half, A-Tech up 28-0. Smith punts it to Calhoun who's at the forty-two. He catches it, breaks it out, makes a juke! Touchdown by punt for Colin Calhoun!"
"Seventeen seconds left as Alabama Tech makes another stop on defense. Smith must be cautionary on punting it back to Calhoun. It's up, Calhoun grabs it. Breaks a tackle, crosses into a lane, no one's catching him! Back to back touchdowns by Colin Calhoun!"
At the beginning of the second half, Colin Calhoun made history by taking a the opening kick off to the house. The first ever player to have back to back to back touchdown returns. Goddard had an average rushing performance with 68 yards with a touchdown. Both recievers had over a hundred yards and a touchdown. Blair wrapped up 14 tackles and Hawkins picked up 11 both with a sack and a forced fumble. Miguel tallied his sack total to 5 and was now leading the country. The back-up D gave up twenty but they had no hope on coming back.
Alabama Tech Razorbacks: 70
Virginia Military Institute Keydets: 20
Coach Miles was excited with the blow-out win but next week, they would see how good they truly were. UCF was no one to mess with, especially at their home stadium.

Season One - Chapter Six: Drunken Bastards
"Dan, Alabama Tech is on path to be the ONLY team in Alabama with a bigger basketball program than football. Head basketball coach Marty Corbin just signed the number one player in the nation in small forward Justin Watson," Steve Gregory said on the Bama Network.
"Yeah, but Tech proved they have what it takes to win some games. Two straight but I do not think they can pull the win against UCF. They are just too talented and just on a completely other level."
Coach Miles turned the TV off as he put his whistle over his head and walked out into the locker room. This week, Blair hadn't been in the bathroom any but still had a horrible attitude. Isaac and Pierre continued to fight. MJ was letting pressures get to him as usual, he couldn't hit a wide reciever. Hawkins finally acted like a senior and made more plays than Blair. Freshman outside linebacker, Jeff Woodard, still struggled to keep up. Darius Moody and Byron Childress showed superior play in the secondary.
Alabama Tech and UCF's game was going to be on a Thursday night ESPN. This led to a short week of practice but for some dumbass reason, Colin decided to throw a big party Wednesday night. Coach Miles knew nothing of it and by ten o'clock, Colin's house, that he somehow afforded (*cough cough* Terrell and Cam?). Colin had truly set his team up for disaster just so he could get drunk and "popular". All the players showed up except for the responsible seniors in MJ, Antwan, Hawkins, and Moody. Everyone else showed up and got drunk as hell.
Isaac was there nervously, knowing he was a key part of tomorrow's gameplan. He didn't dare drink, he came to demand Pierre for him to listen to him. He looked around while he had his plastic cup full of Dr. Pepper. He spotted Sara talking to a non-listening Pierre in the corner. Isaac slipped through a crowd that included Blair getting grinded by some fat chick.
"Pierre, will you listen to me?" Isaac interrupted Sara.
Pierre looked over at Isaac and was already pissed off, "Go for it, Goddard."
"It was a hot practice, right? I had no idea Sara was in your room and I got in my boxers. The remote was in there, I went to look for it. I found it, you came in and of course wouldn't believe me, so I hid in the closet. I don't like Sara, man!"

"You saying she's ugly?" Pierre threw back while cocking his head like an angry bull.

"No, no, no. She's sexy man, I just don't like here like that," Isaac pleaded, getting his ass in deeper trouble.
"Sexy! No wonder you busted a move on here!"
Pierre had been enraged enough for the past week or two. Isaac had been annoyed by Pierre for not listening to him for awhile. In a split second, Pierre and Isaac grabbed each and flopped onto the floor fighting. Isaac was on top and jabbed Pierre in the nose. Pierre easily threw Isaac off and gave him three heymakers to the jaw. Isaac slipped out of consiousness as girls around screamed and guys tried to pull Pierre off. Pierre thrusted his arm back, trying to deliver the final blow but Blair tackled him at full force. Blair was the best fighter probably in the state of Alabama. His mom had signed him up in boxing classes when he was young, so he could survive on the streets when she was at work. Four punches, and Pierre was out cold. But of course, twenty other players jumped in. The whole football team had finally met their breaking points and were killing each other.

Coach Miles sat in his office with Coach Wells and Williamson, trying to decide what kind of speech he would give his hungover and beaten up team. Isaac's eyes were swollen as Pierre's were black. Blair wasn't injured one bitbecause he kicked ass like Rambo. Coach just decided to go out into the locker room and say "Goodluck, dumb asses."
"Godfrey drops back and hands to Weaver, Ronnie Weaver easily avoids a tired A-Tech defense and wraps up his fourth score of the half."
Ronnie Weaver had played like a pro all year so far and really shined against the Razorbacks. MJ relied all on Daniel's great hands. Without MJ and Daniel, the blow-out would have been legendary. The pair ended up with three touchdowns and one hundred and eighty yards. The score at the half: 28 - 14, UCF.
"This is our first ever conference game! And you pansies wanna start it out like this! Getting your ass whooped by some UCF team? I don't fellas, I would be surprised if you guys did."
Coach Miles walked away and the locker room filled with an utter silence. Blair's knuckes were bloody from wrapping up 6 tackles. Isaac had been stopped all day in the backfield, even when Pierre didn't olay the defense. Hawkins had been the only person to stop Weaver, by getting four tackles. Miguel got a lucky sack and the secondary was being bombed on.
"I'm sorry you guys," Colin spoke with his head down.

"Ain't all your fault man," Antwan replied.

"I say, for the next thirty minutes, let's stop hating on each other. Put all this crap behind, just for the next two quarters. Let's show the country on live TV, that we CAN win. That we CAN play as a team. That we CAN play in the FBS," Isaac triumphly screamed.
Blair hopped up with a sudden burst of team spirit, "Razorbacks on three, 1, 2, 3!"
"RAZORBACKS!"
"Calhoun takes the kick, he breaks it out, he may be gone. He is! Opening kick for a touchdown!"
"Weaver gets the screen, jukes Moore! No one can compete! 6 for Weaver!"
"Colbert drops back, throws it up for Calhoun. Calhoun jumps and brings it down in the endzone. Going into the fourth, 35 - 28."
"Godfrey scrambles out, trying to run the timeout by getting the first! Throws to an open Guyton, but no! Picked by Tim Hawkins! He has a block and takes it to endzone with thirty seconds left."
The Razorbacks had came back to tie it up and go into overtime. Alabama Tech was already on a roll and easily scored the second part of OT. Ronnie Weaver stiff armed like five guys to score his fifth touchdown to start it. The second overtime was started by a fumble by MJ and recovered by UCF. The game seemed to be wrapped up but they needed to be very close for their crappy kicker to make it. Darius Moody saved them with a pick. Third OT was started by UCF.
"Third and four on the ten yard line. A power to Weaver and stuffed by Blair!"

UCF kicked a field goal and left it all on Alabama Tech. Goddard stepped it up and drove them down to the five, only to be stuffed three consecutive plays.
"Field goal team!" Coach Wells screamed back to the team.
"No, we're going for it," Coach Miles said calmly.

Coach Wells didn't want to but called Split-Back HB Draw Left, Goddard to Tyree. Coach Miles squated down as he watched MJ take the snap. Fourth and five as he handed Goddard the ball. Pierre smashed Snider down into the line as Goddard leaped into the endzone. Middle linebacker Mazzurco leaped as well smashing Goddard down. People piled on top of Goddard as the ref's sorted through the pile to find the ball placement.
"And.....TOUCHDOWN RAZORBACKS!!"
Alabama Tech Razorbacks: 48
Central Florida Knights: 45

Season One - Chapter Seven: Reasons
Alabama Tech was starting to gain somewhat of respect. Coach Miles had somehow pulled out three straight wins, giving the Razorbacks a 3-1 record. MJ was having a good season but not great. Pulling in only 355 yards of passing and a 6-6 touchdown to interception ratio. Antwan was even in the Heisman race before hurting his knee. Isaac had surpassed him both in yards and touchdowns with 301 and 5. Daniel had a good amount of 18 receptions and 249 yards with 4 touchdowns. Colin wasn't very good in receiving but had reached 600 yards in returns and 4 touchdowns. Miguel wrapped up 7 sacks for himself while DT's Mark Carlson (SR 66) and Lance Cronin (SR 64) both had 4. Blair and Hawkins were #1 and #2 in the nation with tackles. Blair with 47 tackles, 3 forced fumbles, and 13 tackle for losses. Hawkins with 36 tackles, 1 forced fumble, and 2 tackle for losses. Darius Moody, Byron Childress, and Hawkins were the only interceptors so far.
In the NCAA, Andrew Luck led the Heisman race with 1337 passing yards and 13 touchdowns. Trent Richardson narrowly held off Ronnie Weaver at number two with 587 yards and 7 touchdowns. Weaver had only 498 yards but with 9 touchdwons (5 against Alabama Tech). Kellen Moore (1006 yards, 10 touchdowns) and Denard Robinson (546 passing yards, 5 passing touchdowns, 389 rushing yards, 6 rushing touchdowns) switched every week at #4 and #5. Alabama continued their reign of dominace by starting 4-0 and topping the polls. Oklahoma, Boise State, Wisconsin, Florida State were all undefeated and altered throughout the next four. Most of the other teams suffered one loss. Kansas State and Eastern Michigan were both undefeated and slowly pulling their ways up the polls.

The Razorbacks took on Tulane and finally had no drama. This was a great recipe for success in everyone's opinion. The players didn't know how long it was going to last, so they were going to take advantage. Tulane was only a little bit better than them and they were going to run up the score. Antwan and Blair both did a great job in pumping up the team. Coach Miles needed no speech because clear eyes, full hearts, can't lose.
The rushing attack was great since Pierre and Isaac had calmed down. They hadn't fully forgiven each other, Isaac just moved in with Antwan. Jeff Woodard finally played to his potential and was stopping runs and knocking down passes. Colin took another one to the house and gave coach a wink. At the end of the first, the Razorbacks were up 10-0. Isaac lit up even more before the half. Scoring another time. With Lance, Blair, Miguel, Mark, Jeff, and Hawkins all playing great, Tulane was shut down. The team lost some team spirit when Isaac had some sort of allergic reaction and was rushed to the hospital.

But Tulane played with no heart and the game quickly ended. Coach Miles had won his fourth game in a row. Isaac had 88 yards and two touchdowns, also Colin had a kick return. Daniel and MJ hooked up for 70 yards and a touchdown. Blair had 11 tackles, Hawkins 8, Miguel 6 and one sack, Jeff had 10 tackles, Mark 5 and a sack, and Lance with 3 and 2 sacks.
Alabama Tech Razorbacks: 28
Tulane Green Wave: 7
Coach Miles arrived home to his happy wife, Victoria. She tried to stay out of the spotlight and worked locally at the college as a English professor. Coach sat in his comfy recliner to relax. His wife sat in her chair as they talked about random things, anything but football. They both started to slip into a deep sleep but Coach's cell phone started ringing at full blast, making both of them jump.
"Hello," he answered in his 'non coaching' voice.
"Coach, can you come by my place?" replied an anonymous voice.
"Who and where are you?"
"It's Derrick, I need your help, bad. I'm over in Griffin Heights, 203 Eigth Street."
Coach Miles knew better than to help with personal problems with players, also him and Derrick didn't have the best history together. But Coach did have a soul and felt that Derrick spoke with true terror in his heart. Reluctantly, Coach headed to Derrick's as Winston not Coach Miles.
"I'll be over in a few."
"Thanks, try to hurry," Derrick almost seemed to break down crying.
Derrick's house was off campus and in a very bad neighborhood. His grass grew wildly and his torn up roof shingles shined in the moonlight. Before he knocked on the door, Derrick pulled it open and yanked him in. Derrick was shaking, tears rolled down his cheeks. This boy was about to crap himself.
"Okay, what was that stunt with the media?" Coach growled towards Derrick.
"Coach, we can discuss that later," he pleaded, grabbing coach's collar and trying not to sob, "I set up some deals with my gameplay this year coach, with big time gangsters. That's my reasons, and I'm sorry. But these guys won't wait for next year, coach. They mad. Vernon, the head, just called and said that they were coming in about an hour. They said I better have fifty grand or a bullet was gonna be in my head."

Season One - Chapter Eight: Goldfingers
Coach Miles' eyes about shot out of his head. Not only had Derrick put his life in danger but Coach's as well. Coach wiped the cold sweat off of his face and stared into the petrified eyes of Derrick. He thought long and hard as the clock behind him ticked towards two o'clock, the deadline.
"Why the hell would you do this?! Your gonna get both of our asses killed due to your true idiocracy!" Coach screamed at Derrick as he thought deeply in his chair.
"I'm sorry coach, I'm sorry!"
"Maybe you could drive out of town and never come back, that would help both of us out."
"No, that wouldn't work. Vernon ain't a small time, he one of the alphas, coach. He got guys in Oklahoma City, Miama, LA, everywhere."
"Here's the plan Hollis," Coach put real stern, "We drive your car into the woods and leav-" Coach's heart skipped a beat as he peered out his window and saw a car pull into the drive.
"Oh, f-" Derrick about screamed as Coach covered his mouth and clicked off the lights.
The two sprinted through the house where they planned on escaping out the backdoor. But a huge man walked onto the deck with a pistol in his hand. They juked the door like Ronnie Weaver juked Jeff Woodard. They ran into Derrick's room, which smelled like complete crap, and slid under his bed. Coach was scared along with Derrick. Coach had never really had run ins with trouble, he was usually a good kid. The house was filled with an eery silence. Big dude broke through the backdoor with his gun and stepped in, followed by a few other members.
"Search the house," he commanded.
Men went different ways, including one towards Derrick's bedroom. Derrick and Coach watched as the person's muddy sneakers walked around. The two's heart pumped like crazy as the men squatted down beside the bed. He wasn't going to look! But when he stood back up, his knife fell down and bounced under the bed. Coach closed his eyes as the man screamed that he found them. A pit filled within their stomachs as Big Dude pulled them out from under the bed. Vernon walked in a just started laughing in Derrick's face. Vernon was intimidatingly looking, with a huge scar covering his cheek.
"D-Man, you got the fifty k?" Vernon laughed while cleaning his knife with his shirt.
"Nah, man. Just give a month or two."
"Hell nah! I had fifty k down that you would throw for at least 2,500 this year! And you ain't playing, and who's this wrinkly ass bitch?" Vernon turned angry.
"Uh, he's my neighbor, who came to ask if things were cool. I took him under the bed because I freaked," Derrick quickly replied before Coach could call this man a dumbass and get shot dead.
"Oh I see, you like him?" Vernon leaped towards Coach and rested his cool blade on his throat.
"Nah, kill him," Derrick spoke.
Coach Miles' eyes widened as he would've punched Derrick dead. But Derrick knew what he was doing.
"You would want me to dawg, wouldn't you? Let his ass go, go home old man, say anything and you'll see me again."
Big Dude pushed Coach towards the door but Coach stopped. "I'm not leaving until he's safe."
"No, worries man. We're gonna let him live this time but in exchange for my money, Ima took a finger for every ten K."

Coach Miles stood on the sidelines as the Razorbacks ran out onto the field. Tulsa's home crowd roared like monsters as the big three warmed up. Tulsa's QB GJ Kinne, RB Jamad Williams, and WR Trae Johnson totalled with over 2000 yards of offense in just five games. They were so far 3-2 with their only losses being to #2 Oklahoma and #3 Boise State. The team didn't seem focused and all over the country people picked Tulsa to blow them out. Antwan really wanted to play this game but his knee gave out on Tuesday and he was put off for another week.
The game started slow both ways, going 3 and out for both teams. Isaac's lung problems from last game weren't effecting him since the offense got off the field early. The end at the first quarter, 0-0. Tulsa's big three started coming at Blair and Hawkins with reverses and draws. The game was an early blowout and ended quickly. Kinne and Johnson had 167 yards and 2 touchdowns and Williams pulled in 202 yards with two touchdowns as well. Isaac was shut down to 32 yards and MJ threw 2 picks, 101 yards with one touchdown to Colin. Colin did nothing other than a 32 yard TD catch and Daniel had zero stats. Blair had a good game with 15 tackles, 3 for a loss, a forced fumble, and a safety. Hawkins only had 2 tackles and the supposed great line only had one sack from Miguel.
Tulsa Golden Hurricanes: 38
Alabama Tech Razorbacks: 9
Winston Miles was standing on top a week ago, on a fiery roll. He was scarred for life with his experiences and it was reflecting on the field. The team was slowly dying inside, collapsing like Rome. The rise and quick fall of the Alabama Tech Razorbacks.

Season One - Chapter Nine: Harder To Breathe
"Steve, a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in awhile! Alabama Tech had easy wins against Kent State, VMI, and Tulane. The UCF game was pure luck. If Ronnie Weaver had any help what so ever, they would have blown Tech away!"
This so called "Bama Network" was always hatin on the Razorbacks and Coach Miles didn't like it one bit. He hated the show but was being forced from all around to go on to talk with Nick Saban before the Alabama game. Saban led a #1 Crimson Tide team who had a Heisman canidate and no losses. Winston did not look forward to that one bit.
This Saturday, the Razorbacks were facing up with one of their most hated rivals. UAB. How is a rival made if the team is in their first year? When Tech was trying to get a football team, quite a few other Alabama teams tried their bests to not let it happen, including UAB.
"Antwan out, Isaac in. I-Form Y-Trips Right Iso!" Coach Wells hollered from the practice sidelines on the week's first practice.
Isaac's lung problems weren't severe enough to get much of a detailed diagnosis from the doctors. There weren't any worries on Isaac's health so he kept practicing hard and playing harder. Isaac took the ball from MJ and plowed into Carlson and Cronin. He broke into midfield and cut past Woodard. Isaac used his best move, stiff arm, to push off Bryon and had nothing but green in front of him. Coach Miles smiled as his Junior running back was turning into a great player. But Isaac seemed to stumble and went down to his knees. He reached up to his throat. His head rocked violently back and forth. Players rushed over to him as well as coaches. The team trainer sprinted out to Isaac who gasped for air and fell down to the ground.
Isaac ended up in the hospital, after struggling for air for fifteen minutes. After missing two days of practice, he was finally diagnosed with asthma. Some sort of pollen had triggered it and over weeks it had developed greatly. This threw a major curveball into Alabama Tech's offense. It was mostly a running game for them and with Antwan and Isaac not being able to stay in the game for long periods of time, they needed more runningbacks.

"They didn't want us! They were scared! Now they fear us! You ready?! YOU READY!? Razorbacks on three. One, Two, Three," Antwan screamed during pregame.
UAB's crowd was not normally this big but it was an instate rivalry and in Alabama, football was pretty important.
"RAZORBACKS," they yelled as the captains ran out to the middle of the field for the coin flip.
"Hello Captains, shake hands," the ref spoke as Blair, Antwan, and Pierre just stared at Wilson, Borne, and Ellis.
"Okay white, call it in the air," he spoke as he flipped the coin.
"Heads," Antwan replied.
"Heads it is, what's your choice?"
"We'll recieve, I'll tell Colin to say hello to you in the endzone Wilson," Blair spoke while they walked away.
Colin caught the opening kick and high stepped it down the sidelines and to the endzone. Borne, the starting RB, tried his dancing crap on the Tech Defense and got plowed by multiple players.
"Third and long, Ellis tosses it up to Wright and...Picked by Darius Moody! Ellis tries to catch him but no! Pick six for the Razorbacks!"
The score at the end of the first was 14-0 and the offense hadn't even stepped on the field. The second quarter was dominated by the Blazers as Ellis was nailing his wide outs left and right.
"Ellis scrolls out, avoids Watson, throws it up for Carter...caught in the endzone to tie it up before the half, 14-14."
The team wasn't necessarily upset but were cold from letting UAB get back in it. Isaac had heavy sweats, struggling with his new syndrome. Isaac had pulled off 23 yards and Antwan had gotten up to 54. MJ hadn't hit a pass, leaving Daniel and Colin with hard hands. Blair and Hawkins both had a mere 5 tackles as each D-Lineman had a sack.
"Colbert steps back in the pocket, dumps it McFarland. McFarland breaks it out, he could go! One man to beat, he breaks back and nailed in the knee by the safety, but... Touchdown! He doesn't seem to be getting up."
Antwan laid there for a few seconds but quickly hopped up to blow kisses to the raging UAB crowd. Ellis threw another pick to Moody, that led to a 5 play, 5 catch drive by Daniel that ended up as another touchdown. The game was well in hand by the end of the third where the second teamers added on another 10 points and UAB remained scoreless in the second half.
Alabama Tech Razorbacks: 38
Alabama-Birmingham Blazers: 14
Coach Miles had silenced the critics for yet another night. But the next stretch of games was most surely to break him. The running back problems weren't a problem in easier games but the future would bare many difficulties. ECU, Houston, UTEP, and Bama. It was time to make or break.

Season One- Chapter Ten: Pirates of the C-USA
The heated Alabama weather slowly progressed downward heading into Fall. It was still warm and humid but not the original blaze of fire. With heat decreasing, Antwan and Isaac were able to go in for longer plays. Coach Miles was being recognized all around the country as a quite excellent coach. He had led the One-Star Caliber Alabama Tech Razorbacks to a 5-2 record in a pretty good conference. But his challenges were to increase over the next month as he faced off against the best of the best, including a undefeated Alabama team.
Heading into Monday's practice Coach Miles and Wells had agreed to run heavily on ECU's weak line. Their secondary was much too good to pass with MJ 20+ times. But two freshman running backs were both injured and Antwan and Isaac both didn't have a lot of plays in them. They were full of heart and still pulled out wealthy games, just not for all four quarters, like LeBron James. The light Monday practice ended early and the coaches kept a few players behind to talk to them.
"Hello gentleman, as you know, Antwan and Isaac do not have a lot in them and we are low on running backs," some players looked terrified but others had huge grins on their faces, "Coach Wells and I have gone over the roster and picked you guys to try out for running backs."
The group consisted of Fullback Josh Curtis (SO 58) and Cornerbacks Darius Moody (SR 67), Dominique Moore (SO 64), and Johnnie Terrell (SO 61). They ran ball handling drills, cut drills, and hands drills. Josh got kicked out early because he was way to slow to run the package. The other three were pretty good with the ball, especially Johnnie. He was going to be the third running back in the game against ECU.
Johnnie was a shy kid who only was on the team as a roster filler. His 5'7 size kept him from starting due to tall wide receivers. His roommate was fellow cornerback Dominique Moore, who started which brought jealousy. But now, Terrell had ammo to throw back at Moore by being the third runningback. This ECU game, he was going to prove what he was made of.

The Razorbacks had surprised everyone with their unruly attitude. Teams didn't expect alot from them, even with their previous success. Coach Miles wanted to do great this year because next year wasn't going to be as easy. Every team they had beaten so far had just gotten fluked, they would come full force next season. But that fear wasn't nearly as bad as the fear of ECU.
ECU wasn't just better but faster and much much bigger. Dominick Davis stood about 6'3 with a rocket arm and an uncanny ability to scramble. Lance Lewis led the nation in receptions. But the biggest test was 5'8 Darius Moody against 6'8 wide reciever Justin Jones. They seemed to be laughing at them from across the field as rain poured from the Alabama sky. The crowd was dominated by dark blue colors but had a great amount of purple. The grass on the field slid away as mud appeared.
"This has all the symptons of a true slobberknocker folks, an uprising Alabama Tech versus a talented ECU team."
The Pirates took the pigskin first and made the defense look silly. Davis threw for 78 yards in five minutes, ending with a touchdown catch by Lance Lewis. Jersies were already covered in mud as Tech's offense took the field. A solid run game led by Isaac, took them the distance and returned the favor with 7 points. Davis smiled at the challenge and in two plays, threw 56 yards for a touchdown to Jones. The pattern kept occuring into the third. The score being 35-28 at halftime, ECU.
This was an old fashion pass versus run shootout. Quick drives by ECU, long - time consuming drives by Alabama Tech. Both runningbacks needed no air though, the true adrenaline led them through the pain. Terrell's heart was broken as he got soaked in the rain while sitting the bench once again. Going into the fourth, the score was 41-38, ECU.
"Three minutes remain in the game as Davis comes out to lead another score to end this ball game. He steps back, throws a bomb to Jones. They had no intentions what so ever on milking the clock. Jones leaps highy above an unaware Moody. Catches it and down at 23!"
ECU unwisely decided to run and were stopped with 1:21 seconds remaining. A field goal put them up by 6. Colin did his best job to pull of a miracle return, but failed at the 33. MJ walked on the field, no time to run. He had to hit his men with wet hands.
"Colbert steps back, has pressure, cocks his arm back but sacked! Ball is loose....luckily recovered by Tyree. They quickly run back to the ball with zero timeouts left. Colbert steps back, has even more pressure! Scrambles forward and slides down for the first. No huddle, and a spike by Colbert."
"Good job MJ, Shotgun Normal Set, Four Verticals."
MJ nervously nodded as he gave the play in the huddle. MJ precisely stepped back launched one to Colin with 44 seconds remaining.
"The ball is in the air! Colin jumps, it bounces off Florence's helmet, and....pulled down at the 28 by Calhoun."
The next play was a Texas play call where Antwan was blind sided when attempting to make a catch.
"McFarland is down folks. This isn't good, he's had problems from early on in the season with his knee. He limps off the field with help from the trainers. He deserves on applause for his excellent effort with 115 yards and a touchdown."
"Goddard, IN!" Coach Miles screamed as he turned to his team.
"Suhh..I...Suhh...Can't...Suhh....Coach," he wheezed on the bench.
Coach panicked and looked around. His whole team was sitting down after this truly tough match up. He laid eyes on Terrell, standing alone by the cooler.
"Terrell, In for McFarland."
Terrell's eyes lit up with a mix between nervousness and excitement. He snapped up his helmet and headed out to a beat up team.
"And...who is that? My sources tell me that fourth string corner, Johnnie Terrell, is going in at running back for the Razorbacks. What a bold moves by Coach Miles."
The first call were slants that gave Daniel Wells a catch at the 17 for a first. Another spike with 34 seconds remaining. The linebackers backed up, to guard mid passes leaving a HB Slip Screen extremely open.
"Colbert drops back, Terrell runs out wide open for a screen. He dumps it! Ohhh, and dropped by Terrell."
Johnnie could've cried at this moment as he hadn't heard ten thousand people groan at him at the same instance. ECU was laughing at the little boy as he handicapped his team by enabling them to not even have to cover him. MJ returned to the huddle with 21 seconds left and giving the play.
"Shotgun Y-Trips Mid Slants," He directed. The offense was about to clap but someone interrupted them.
"No, another slip screen, I got this," Johnnie pleaded.
MJ wanted to deny him but it was soooo open! He ignored the call from coach and went into fourth and goal with an independent play call.
"Colbert steps back, it looks like the same play! He darts it at an open Terrell, who bobbles it up. He pulls it down and makes a move towards the outside. At the 10! At the five! Three men to beat as he dives for the endzone. He's smashed into the mud and into the pile on as the referee's whistle blows. They crowd around the pile and......TOUCHDOWN! The Razorbacks pull off the win!"
Coach Miles luck was running high as he pulled an impossible win off. Davis almost pulled out the win with 488 yards passing but it wasn't meant to be. MJ had an average 101 yards with one touchdown. Isaac had 123 yards with two scores and Antwan with 115 yards and a TD. Daniel had 54 yards along with 39 yards for Colin. Blair had 6 tackles and Hawkins had 7. There were no sacks for them since Davis got the ball away so quick.
Alabama Tech Razorbacks: 45
East Carolina Pirates: 44
That night, Dominique and Johnnie chilled in their dorm. Dominique beaten up after a bad game and Johnnie clean after scoring the game winning touchdown. Johnnie wasn't one to brag but he had listened to Dominique all season about how he started.
"It's okay Dom, at least I finally got some glory," Johhnie implied.
"Yeah, you got lucky bro," Dominique sneered back.
"I don't know about lucky, maybe I'm good," Johhnie took it offensively.
"Nah, you suck. If you were good, you would start," Dominique snapped back.
"Man, screw you. You can't support someone other than yourself," Johhnie replied while getting up.
"Go to hell, John!" Dominique roared.
Johnnie finally lost it and struck Dominique in the nose. Dominique grabbed him and tossed him through the wooden table as the two faught to the death.

Season One - Chapter Eleven: Nightfest
"But Coach, John started the whole thing by talking crap," Dominique pleaded as the two battered corners sat in Coach's office on a Sunday morning.
"That's a lie, he was starting stuff. An instigator," Johnnie gave towards his case.
"Both of you, shut the hell up. Now you two are big parts of the team now and we can't afford you to being fighting every night. You guys are a bunch of little girls. Next time I hear of anything between you two, 100 suicides," Coach laid down the law.
The two pitifully nodded as they exited his office to take the day off after a tough win. The team seemed to be doing quite well and everyone recognized them nationally. They were 60th in the country after a succeeding to pulling off a 6-2 record. Blair and Hawkins were the top two tacklers in the nation with 81 and 67. Miguel was 4th in sacks with 8. Other lineman placed in the teens. MJ had only threw for 860 yards so far. Eleven touchdowns and fifteen picks. Isaac had 435 rushing yards with 7 touchdowns. Antwan had 588 yards with only 5 touchdowns. Daniel pulled in 34 recpetions for 401 yards and two touchdowns. Colin didn't do as well as he had only 28 receptions, 304 yards with five touchdown catches. Returning wise, he was one of a kind. No one had seen such a mix between speed and athleticism. Only if he had any hands. Eight games, seven returned touchdowns, absolutely ludicrous.
The NCAA was pretty much as normal as earlier. Alabama stood head and shoulders better than the rest with an 8-0 record. Oklahoma kept at #2, Boise State at #3, Florida State at #4, Oregon at #5, and a dark horse team, Texas A&M at #6. All undefeated, all in great competitive conferences, all with everything to lose. It was a race to see who who would drop out first. Who would choke. The Heisman race was still dominated by a great quarterback in Andrew Luck. He had eclipsed 2800 yards passing and 30 touchdowns. Ronnie Weaver didn't just stop after the Tech game, he kept at it to stay at numero dos. He had already reached 1100 yards with fifteen touchdowns, 1/3 in the Tech game, just adding that in. Trent Richardson looked good but was no Weaver as he had only 955 yards with twelve rushing scores. LaMicheal James stuck around at number four with 947 yards with nine touchdowns. Kellen Moore stood at the end with 2400 yards passing and 22 touchdowns.
This week was the last OPEN of the season and coach was giving Monday and Tuesday off after the brutal game against ECU. Tuesday night, the upperclassmen had decided to take a night on the town before their big game against Houston next week. Not all the players were going out to do "crazy" things, just the main ones. Isaac and Pierre were finally cool as Pierre had accepted that he was wrong. Isaac came from a rich family and had his own black escalade. He went around all over campus picking up fellow teammates in his sick ride. They stopped first near Rolland Hall to pick up most of the seniors who lived in on-campus houses. They loaded up Antwan, Hawkins, and Darius. MJ stayed behind smartly as he studied plays. Blair had spoken earlier about wanting to come, so they headed over to the crappy, cheap dorms where he stayed.
KNOCK! KNOCK! "Yo Blair, hurry up. We can't be missing any chicks at the club!" Isaac screamed as people leaned out of their dorm rooms to see the nusence.
Isaac heard a faint reply within the room, "Give me second, give me second."
Isaac heard Blair struggle with unlocking a simple door knob. After a few minutes of figuring out the masterlock of an average door lock, Blair opened his water stained door and looked awful. He was covered in sweat, his clothes were stained to add to his image.
"Bro, we can't be rolling with you looking like this," Isaac made a gesture to all of Blair.
"Okay, let me fix myself," he babbled as he went to his bedroom.
Isaac didn't want to be nosey but he pushed open the door and looked around the messy room. Dirty socks littered the floor, covering 3/4 of it. Isaac was about to head back out into the hallway when he noticed a piece of plastic dangling from beneath the green sofa cushion. Isaac looked over his shoulder, checking to see if the door was still shut. He lifted the cushion, discovering a hollow couch filled with glass cylinders filled with a clear liquid. His heart sunk as he realized that his long time friend was back on drugs. A serenge with fresh blood covering the tip, was on top of the bags.
"Oh hell, Blair," Isaac whispered softly to himself.
He put everything back in its place and returned to his original position. Isaac had decided to ignore that problem for now and just have a fun night. They headed to some small club called "Nightfest". The music roared as the boys had a good night with women and alchohol. Pierre tried his best to get out but he was completely whipped by Sara. Girl had him on a leash without her even doing anything. Blair looked like a monkey out there but somehow women flocked to him. After an hour or two of partying, they sat down for a nice hardcore drink.
"To beating those damn Pirates," Antwan toasted as they clinked glasses and took the shots. Antwan had a quick buzz but it was interrupted by some girl who had just slipped through the crowd. He hopped off his stool and stumbled through the crowd. Antwan had this goddess in his sights but was grabbed from by behind.
It was a man who was about the same heigth as him but was built like a tank, similar to Blair. He had an angry look on his face, Antwan looked over at the man's other arm which held a girl who had a drink spilt all over her.
"You piece of crap, look what you did," the man pointed to his soaking wet girlfriend.
"Oh, my bad," Antwan replied, just wanting to find that girl was so beautiful.
The man wanted revenge and out of nowhere, punched Antwan right in the nose. Antwan flew down as Isaac spotted him from afar. Soon enough, the boys were in a fight with the man. Beating him badly, not knowing when to stop. The police showed up soon to the crazy scene. Blair, still stoned, was unaware of the dangers that could lay ahead of him as he sat in the back of a cop car.

Season One - Chapter Twelve: Too Good
All six of the players were taken to the Huntsville Police Department. Antwan received a fractured nose as the worst of the injuries. The rest just suffered some cuts and bruises. Blood alchohol levels were being taken by all of the players arrested that night. Coach Miles was unaware of the entire mess, being it was pretty late at night. Antwan was let out of the cell to take his test. The five other players remained in the cell, scared of any suspensions of the next games. Blair and Isaac sat in the corner, battered and bruised.
"When did you take the drugs?" Isaac skipped all the small talk and went straight to the point with Blair.
"What dru-" Blair replied but was rudely interrupted.
"Don't lie to me Blair, I saw them in your dorm," Isaac put stubbornly.
Blair wanted to yell at Isaac for going through his things but Isaac was right, "Around four thirty."
Isaac breathed a huge sigh of relief as hopefully it was down enough now that it would go undetected.
"You need to get off that stuff, bro. It will either ruin or end your life," Isaac ordered Blair while getting up to take his test.
All players tested under the limit and were not considered drunk. After a whole night of explaining to the cops that it was purely self-defense, they were set free and getting some sleep before tomorrow's practice.
Word spread quickly the next day and Coach Miles just wanted to ignore it for the next few days. He had his focus on the big game against this really good team called "Houston". You may have heard of them. The trifecta of Case Keenum, Tyron Carrier, and James Cleveland was going to challenge the Razorback defense.
"Okay, break it down MJ then all of you guys get the hell off my field!" Coach Miles blew his whistle as the team finished up a Monday practice. Everyone thought the major heat had passed going into mid September but the thermometer read 88 degrees.
"Razorbacks on three, one, two, three!" MJ chanted.
"RAZORBACKS!" As the team triumphly screamed and headed off the field.
"Goddard, McFarland, Hawkins, Tyree, Huff, and Moody, stay here for a minute," Coach Miles laughed.
The players stopped and stomachs got queezy. They walked around coach with their heads down.
"Now I'm not going to suspend you guys, so no worries on that," Coach smiled, the players relieved that he was understanding, "But what the hell! You guys are the leaders out here! How are we suppose to hang with Houston and Bama without you!? Get your acts together men! God dammit! But, since I'm not suspending you, that doesn't mean you're getting off scott free. Fifty one hundred yard dashes!"
The players lined up on the line and started the grueling run. Each player grew weak in the heat. All the players puked around the twenties and struggled on the edge of passing out. Coach pushed them to their limits as the limits pushed them back. No water since they had enough beer the other night. Finally, after one hour of sprinting in the heat, coach left the field. The players lie there cramping and moaning in pain. Coughing and throwing up, hopefully learning something from their experience.
This was the first week of no injuries since game one of the year. Johnnie was so impressive during the week of practice that coach decided to keep him at third running back. Dominique and Darius looked shaky though, the one week when they were needed most. Everyone else looked spot on and the Razorbacks went head first into their game against the 7-2 Houston Cougars.

Alabama Tech was pumped but deep inside their hearts, scared. This was by far the best team they head competed against all year. Akron could have went 6-2 easily with Tech's schedule. 112th in the nation as the hardest. Houston's stadium roared and shook violently as MJ ran out on the field to start the first drive of the game. Three plays, three negative yards, and a punt. Case Keenum walked out on that turf with the upmost confidence. His passes were spot on as he drove down the field on a time consuming drive with a touchdown throw to Cleveland. The Razorback offense looked absolutely terrible as the line was letting Cougar lineman run past them. Another three and out to the end the quarter and hopes were down for Tech. Their one time to prove the nation wrong and they were slipping up. Case Keenum didn't even need to pass as the run game drove them down the field for another touchdown. Each quarter was fifteen minutes and there was only three minutes remaining in the second. Houston had the ball for 22 minutes out of 27 so far, completely taking over the game. The Razorbacks led a short drive which created somewhat of a spark but was stopped at their own 49. Keenum got the ball in his hands with nine seconds left on their 13.
"Keenum seems to be passing instead of running the clock out. Carrier runs fiercely past Moore, the ball is up in the air. Pulled down by Carrier! Moore jumps but misses. McNeil tries for the tackle but misses as Carrier walks into the endzone on an 87 yard touchdown reception. This does not look good for the Razorbacks."
The locker room atmosphere wasn't full of anger but more of disappointment. They lost their chance already at half time, 21-0. Blair didn't like this feeling of defeat during the game. He looked around at his tired defense and the shooken up offense. He attempted to talk to Hawkins, who usually had great composure but the pressure had reached him. Talking to MJ or Antwan didn't work either. Colin hadn't caught anything and had a crappy day returning. Daniel's hands were good but the passes were only four or five yards. The D-Line was shutdown completely. Blair was taking over with 11 tackles but had no aid from the secondary.
Blair made a last attempt to talk to someone to help him out. He spotted an angry looking Jeff Woodard in the corner. Woodard was being thrown on all day. They kept running a hitch right behind him that he couldn't stop. "Woodard, I need you this next half bro. WE need you," Blair spoke.
"I can't do it, they're too fast. I have nothing to offer," Jeff sighed.
Blair had a sudden spark of anger as he punched a locker at full force, bending the door pretty good. "Don't you ever say can't again! I want you to go out their and blow Carrier's head off. Then I want you to reach your frick'n hands out and snatch that pigskin out of the air and we will lead you to that endzone. We may lose some, we may be defeated, we may be killed, we may be thrashed, but we will not stop till the glory is ours! On or off this field!" Blair screamed as the spirits were raised.
"Never quit on three, one, two, three," Blair led.
"NEVER QUIT!"
"First play of the second half as the Cougars have this game well in hand. Keenum drops back on this familiar play, throws to Carrier but picked by Woodard who trots into the endzone to give some life to this defense. What a play by Woodard!"
"Keenum comes back onto the field to try again on this drive. He drops back on the same play! Throws it higher! Tipped in the air by Woodard and caught by him also!! Woodard runs back into the endzone again! Oh my gosh! I've never seen anything like this before! Woodard has single handedly made this a one possession game!"
"Good job, Woodard," Blair shook as special teams headed out.
"Eh, I learn from the best," he replied.
Both offenses continued to struggle going into the fourth. Keenum was really shaken up from the picks he threw. Controversity struck both team leaders on the first drive of the fourth. It was a second and eight and Keenum dropped back on a slants call. Both receivers were covered nicely so Keenum tucked the ball up and headed up the field. Blair sprinted from across the field wanting to get his first hit on QB1 for the first time today. Keenum closed in on the first down as Blair rolled in on his steam engine. Keenum started to slide as Blair launched himself violently into him. This was one of the hardest hits ever recorded in college football. Keenum's arm was caught in the midst and snapped in two. He had to leave the game. It broke the Cougar's hearts as Colin returned one for a touchdown. The back up QB was actually pretty good and led them down the field with a minute left, 21-21.
"Turner scrambles out as Huff comes in on the blitz. He tries to get away but sacked and fumble, fumble!! Recovered by Tech!"
MJ courageously took control, leading them down the field with three seconds left. The ball spotted at the eighteen and was no easy kick for their pitiful kicker. The crowd rumbled furiously as he set up for the kick. The kicker Jim Cary (SR 52) took a deep breath and went for the kick. The ball flopped awkwardly on its path to the goal post. Its speed started to die down as the players cringed. It wasn't going to make it! But, miraceously it hit the cross bar and bounced straight up. The whole stadium stood on their toes as gravity took control, bringing down. It hit the ground as some people said it was good and some said no. The referee's stepped out and revealed it as good field goal for the win! The team went wild, coach's heart was struggling after so many close wins.
Alabama Tech Razorbacks: 24
Houston Cougars: 21
All the players got back to Huntsville around two o'clock. Blair set his keys down on his table and tossed his bag onto his messy floor. Blair had gotten a total of 19 tackles, a forced fumble, and a sack. He won player of the game, redeeming himself from his mistake. But unwisely he pulled out his serenge and injected some drugs to help him relax and take some pain away. Blair clicked on his television to see if anything was on ESPN about their game. Blair was all over ESPN, but not in the way he thought.
"Here's the gruesome play. 'Case Keenum sets back on a pass, tucks it and runs for the first. OH! A massive hit by middle linebacker Blair Huff!' Our analyst Bill Andrews is here to talk about this controversial play that is seeming to be making a lot of people very angry."
"Yeah Steve, Blair Huff will probably receive a suspension or even maybe, the worst, dismissed from playing any college football. Keenum showed he was sliding but Huff hit him, resulting in a serious injury. The ref's missed this call but the NCAA won't. Huff is going to be in some major trouble."

Season One - Chapter Thirteen: Falling Apart
"So Mr. Huff, why did you hit Case Keenum on his attempt on sliding?" An NCAA advisor spoke with a Blair in a closed Thursday night meeting.
"I wanted to hit him, I didn't realize he was sliding so I hit him with all my force," Blair replied, going over this hundreds of times earlier that day.
"Did you want to hurt Case?" The man sternly looked eye to eye with a nervous Blair.
Blair bit his lip, knowing that every time he hit someone that he intended on ending their life. The kid was crazy as hell. "Not exactly sir, I wanted to make my point though."
The advisor shook his head in agreeance as he had seen Blair play before. Both of them were aware that Blair had hit him extremely late. Houston also knew that he had bad intentions when crushing their star player, threatening a bowl appearance. They wanted punishment on Huff and they looked for the slightest detail to prove evidence of Blair's gultiness. They did.
A video was made by the Cougars showing Blair slightly go over a sliding Keenum. It also showed him coming downward instead of at a angle, meaning that Blair knew Keenum was going down but he continued on smashing a defenseless Keenum. This was key evidence and the trial was held on a Wednesday, one day before the UTEP game.
"After meeting over the past week, the NCAA committee is going to suspend Blair Huff for one game of the 2011 season for implying an illegal hit."
This caused a huge problem for Coach Miles. The leader of the defense who was having an all-american season, was out. This UTEP game was bigger than it appeared. Alabama Tech was 5-1 in the C-USA and were tied for first with UCF. UCF was now ranked number 12th in the country holding a 8-1 record, the one loss was to Tech. If Tech lost, their chances of a conference championship game would be dwindled greatly. The team didn't seemed focused because of the deal with Blair. He led them through so many difficulties this season but was gone for a big game.
Around the NCAA things were getting good. Oregon was the first team to choke with a defeat by Stanford. Number one Alabama still held their undefeated streak along with Florida State and Boise State. Texas A&M kept their cool and pulled in at number four with an easy remaining schedule. The Heisman Race was the same as it had been all along. Andrew Luck was closing in on Colt Brennan's records with 4634 yards and 48 touchdowns. Ronnie Weaver led his #12 ranked UCF team with 1765 yards and 22 touchdowns. Justin Blackmon from Oklahoma State was new at number three. Catching 76 passes, 1299 yards, 15 touchdowns. Marcus Lattimore was no Weaver and only had 1450 yards with 16 touchdowns. #3 Boise State quarterback Kellen Moore was leading his team to a National Championship with 3971 yards and 44 passing touchdowns. Alabama Tech was ranked the highest ever at #39.

The Razorbacks sat on their broken benches before heading out to a roaring home crowd. Coach Miles had led them from a team of nobodies to a team of players that played with all their heart. They may have not been the most talented but no one could deny how brave they played this game of football. No Remorse, No Regret, No Loss. The coaches walked out and commanded the team out into the tunnel. Blair watched on the sidelines, prepared to coach up back-up middle linebacker Steve Novak (FR 60).
Alabama Tech received the ball first to start the game. They had no idea this starting play would change the outlook of their remaining season.
"Colbert hands off to McFarland, no wait, it's a pass. Ooooh, a nasty looking sack from Lightbourne."
MJ rolled on the wet grass in pain as the stadium lights peered down on him. He clenched his side as trainers rushed out onto the field. MJ was a warrior, he pushed himself up and almost cried as he knew. Colbert waved the trainers off as he huddled things up like everything was normal. He called another pass play. MJ dropped back oddly, looking very uncomfortable. He stumbled but regained his balance. MJ released a pitiful throw while tumbling down in pain. The pass was jumped by the safety and picked off. This time, MJ didn't get back. He wanted to but it hurt enough just to breathe. He was rolled off the field as back-up freshman quarterback, Eugene Brittain was named the starter.
UTEP had momentum on their side with the interception by Travaun Nixon. The Miner's runningback, Joe Banyard, powered through the weakened linebacking core for a six play, thirty two yard drive for a score. Colin's mind was elswhere when special teams was needed. Brittain wasn't ready for this kind of pressure, failing to hit Daniel on an open slant route on third down. Banyard and other runningback, Leilyon Myers, just destroyed the Razorback D. Miguel got pancaked three times in first quarter as well as some other D-Lineman. Hawkins seemed to be making some good plays with 4 tackles. The pattern of a third and out for Tech followed by a touchdown continued into the half. The score being 28-0. Isaac was finding holes really well getting 44 yards. Antwan had two long runs that got his total up to 78. Daniel made 3 catches for 33 yards. Colin only pulled in 1 for 6 yards. The D-Line and secondary did absolutely nothing. Hawkins had 11 tackles, Novac 5, and Woodard with 7. Alabama Tech had came back many times this season but with the lead of Blair. With him and MJ out, this team was lost. Coach Miles decided to pull his starters mid-way through the third, knowing there was no point. The running domination was unstoppable, totalling up 489 yards total. Ridiculous numbers. This game was so whacked that Johnnie Terrell was moved to QB with Moore and Moody at runningbacks. Three corners in the backfield. The option-like offense actually got the only score of the game.
Texas El-Paso Miners: 59
Alabama Tech Razorbacks: 7
Coach Miles just sat in his falling apart desk chair. His chance for the championship was pretty much blown as Ronnie Weaver wasn't stopping his reign anytime soon. Winston's face was buried in his hands. No one else was in the gloomy locker room. Things were falling apart all around Coach Miles, one week prior to their toughest opponent. The game that the whole state would watch. When the Alabama Tech Razorbacks took on the infamous Alabama Crimson Tide.

Season One - Chapter Fourteen: Rolltide Part One
Sunday
"Today folks, we have a real treat for the Bama Network viewers. As you know, two of Alabama's teams will be facing off in the Bama Bowl. In one corner you got the Alabama Crimson Tide who is number one in the country with a 10-0 record. This Crimson Tide team is led by quarterback AJ McCarron who has 2449 yards passing along with 23 touchdowns. Trent Richardson is fifth in the country running the ball and Marquis Maze is one of the premiere wide recievers in the whole country. The defense can speak for itself, led by Bednarik award canidates, Donta Hightower and Courtney Upshaw. In the other corner we have a lower rated team of Alabama Tech Razorbacks. Tech is the newest team in division one football as they expanded from just a academic college and gathered up sports for a large school. The Razorbacks have shocked a lot of critics with a 7-3 record. Of course, their schedule is nothing of the Alabama schedule. This Tech team is led by middle linebacker Blair Huff, who was suspended for their last loss to UTEP. Huff leads the nation in tackles with 93, other linebacker, Tim Hawkins, is second with 80. Tech's offense took a big blow with the loss of quarterback, MJ Colbert, who suffered a few broken ribs which will sit him out for the rest of his senior year. Now, we have brought both coaches on here live to discuss the game. Please welcome, head coaches Nick Saban and Winston Miles!" Steve Arnett, the lead man of the Bama Newtork, yelled as he stood up from his chair.
Both coaches walked into the room and waved at the crowd that was watching. Each coach wore the jacket of his respected school. The chair on the left had a Razorback logo printed onto to it. The right with an elephant. An Alabama helmet faced a Alabama Tech helmet on the table in between the chairs. The coaches sat in the chair with their school logo as Steve sat in a chair that was facing both of them. Coach Miles didn't really want to do this, but he knew it came with a head coaching job in Alabama.
"Well I'm glad we have two great coaches here with us today," Steve smiled as both the coaches smiled and shook their heads.
"So, we will start with some interesting subjects on both sides of the ball. Both of you coaches have had some trouble with players being out. Coach Miles, you had Blair Huff get suspended for an illegal hit on Houston's quarterback, Case Keenum. Coach Saban, Trent Richardson being out for two games with some wrist problems. What's your plans on keeping players in the game.
Coach Saban spoke first, "We will try our best to monitor the players. If they injure themselves just a little bit, we try to get them to go the trainer before they hurt themselves anymore," Coach Miles shook his head in agreeance.
The next question was uncalled for and put both the coaches on the spot. This was the exact reason why Coach Miles did not want to do this.
"Who do you think will win this game and what the score will be like?"
Both the coaches laughed an the idiotic question. Coach Miles spoke first this time, "Well Steve, I think my players have the heart to win this. This game will be extremely close and a great game," Coach Miles answered the question perfectly.
Coach Saban didn't want to boast but he needed to in order to show them who was boss, "No offense Winston, but my team has went undefeated in the SEC. We plan on coming at you full force, no scores for you, thirty plus for us," Coach Saban replied boldly.
Coach Miles eyes changed from laughter to anger. He stood up and told that this interview was over, walking out of the Bama Network. The game was only three days away but this rivalry was already heating up.
Monday
The Razorbacks practiced like mad men that day. Trash talk spread all over the media as players spoke insult after insult. Eugene had a rough day on Monday, still shooken up from a embarrasing defeat from UTEP. Eugene couldn't hit one of the best catching recievers in the C-USA, Daniel Wells. Daniel could have had over 1500 yards recieving if he actually had a quarterback. Colin had 0 hands and was only saved by his speed and agilty. Pierre was ready to go against Nick Gentry and Josh Chapman. Everyday, he wrote 58 and 99 on his hands, marking each players number so he could remember to whoop their asses. Isaac and Antwan looked as solid as possible, Johnnie not so much. Blair was better than ever, wanting to make up for his missed game. Miguel and Lance Cronin played like SEC monsters on the line. The four way of Moore, Moody, Childress, and McNeil looked okay, nothing special in the secondary. Alabama's team on the other hand, was flawless. Proving why they were 10-0. Bama's third string was better than Tech's starters. The whole country noticed and was prepared to make their opinions known.
Tuesday
Colin Calhoun was leaving his expensive house on a humid morning. It was still a big mystery on how Colin afforded such a house (sarcasm). Calhoun had his Tech bags on his shoulder and was heading for a early morning practice. All of a sudden, cameras rushed all around the star returner. Instead of heading onto practice, Colin loved having the spotlight, heading into the mass of reporters. "We gonna thrash Bama Thursday, people! You kiddin, we got me returning those kicks for at least two TD's," Colin struck a Heisman pose, "Then you got my boy, B-Huff, gonna snap Trent's arm like a toothpick, real talk. We going all out on them, ALL OUT!" By noon, this outblast of bragging had hit ESPN's top stories. Dropping a huge distraction on Tech's players. Coach Miles made sure that Colin would run 25 gassers after practice.
What no one expected to happen, was a reply video from one of Bama's players, Marquis Maze. Marquis Maze was having an above average season, barely reaching 1000 yards and ten touchdowns. But had returned four touchdowns. He also was a twin to a show boating Colin Calhoun. "Man, I got one question. Who is Colin Calhoun? This boy think he bad after scoring a few returns on some silly C-USA teams. I've returned four on teams like LSU and Florida! Tech is really good....if they played in the MAC! We're on another level, we ARE going to kill these puppies. 70-0. Then, after Colin gets done crying, tell him to come talk to me," Maze's face turned to seriousness as he turned and walked away.
Wednesday
Coach Miles made clear to a rumor-starting media that Eugene Brittain was going to start, not Johhnie Terrell. Both Coach Saban and Miles hired men to follow players making sure that no more media outbursts were to occur. Huntsville and Tuscaloosa were going nuts. Even a few murders happened from men arguing over who was going to win. Huntsville finally had a big time college football team and they weren't going to let other towns talk trash. This rivalry wasn't just being watched by the state of Alabama but the whole country. Everyone gathered around the TV to watch this drama play out. Fights, trash talking, and a great game. Both teams even put jersies of Maze and Calhoun on hitting dummies during practices, raising hate. This rivalry seemed to shadow Michigan vs Ohio State, Army vs Navy, or WVU vs Pitt. Bombs were even thrown into Tech's stadium as a form of sabotage. Nothing could stop the hate, nothing.
Thursday - Game Day

Tech's home crowd vibrated into the locker room. This was by far the loudest crowd all year. Alabama's crowd almost beat Tech's. Each crowd tried to one up the other, getting louder and louder. A few fights broke out in the stands before the game even started. The Razorbacks didn't feel nervous like usual, they felt angry and offended. Everyone counted them out since day one, they still had no respect. Blair took a shot of heroin in the bathroom since everyone was so distracted with the upcoming game. He was hooked and raging, ready to kill anyone in his path. Eugene couldn't stop shaking as he went over plays and scenerios in his head. Isaac or Antwan couldn't get the image of Bama's linebacking core out their heads. Pierre was pumped as he wrote 58 and 99 on his taped hands and growled towards them. It was time to go out and the Razorbacks headed out onto the field, about to participate in the game of their lives.

Season One - Chapter Fifteen: Rolltide Part Two
Alabama Tech stood shoulder to shoulder in the corner of an endzone facing a growling menace. Each player looked at one another like they were intimate on killing them. Sweat flowed down their faces like an Amazonian river. Eyes full of anger, guts full of steel, hearts full of spirit. This was football in its greatest fashion. David VS Goliath. A tiny Razorback team that whom no one respected versus perhaps the best team in the nation. During all this Alabama heart and spirit, words were exchanged as both teams went face to face. They pushed and shoved as referees and coaches split them up. The crowd was the same way.
"Call it in the air, Red," the referee commanded.
"Heads," Trent Richardson called.
"Heads it is, what's your call?"
"We'll kick."
Colin stood in the endzone as the field vibrated madly. This was how it must have been like at an LSU game. He looked at the crowd, screaming fans, ready for some heads to get knocked off. Paint covered their faces and chests. The ball sailed through the air as Colin brought it down. All his blockers flew through the air as Bama's players pancaked them easily. Colin was surrounded by Crimson Tidesman before he reached the thirty, everyone was his speed. Courtney Upshaw smashed him into the twenty six. This was going to be a long game.
Eugene rushed onto the field, knowing that he was not going to be passing much. The dual running back threat with fantastic play calls from Coach Wells actually pulled off two straight first downs. Pierre held up to his hype and kept up with Gentry and Chapman. He allowed other lineman to double up, helping the running game. Isaac and Antwan were in great sync with finding holes. Alabama was shocked and was growing nervous of losing their undefeated streak. In a eight minute, thirteen play drive, the Razorbacks drove down Bama's seven yard-line. Alabama's defenders were hunched over, tired from a long drive.
Coach Wells took a risk with calling the first pass play of the game. They were lined up 99% for the run and a PA should give Eugene some room to make a play. And he did. Linebackers smashed into the center as Eugene scrolled out but only found a covered Daniel and Colin. He smartly tucked the ball up and ran in for a score. The cheers were mixed with excitement and shock. Was this happening?
Maze was hit just as hard as Colin on his return. Richardson was putting up some great runs, passing the fifty yard line. The first quarter ended with a score of 7-0. News spread quickly that Tech was holding their own with Bama. Dominique Moore was ready to please his home crowd as AJ McCarron stepped back for a rocket pass to Marquis Maze. Moore's adrenaline gave him a great vertical, getting the pick. The crowd roared as Alabama's heads were down on the sidelines. This was absolutely crazy. Tech had upset an okay ECU team, a pretty good UCF team, a very good Houston team, but could they beat a great team in Alabama? All momentum spoke as if they could.
Momentum peaked as Brittain took the field. Seven minutes and thirty three seconds read on the clock as he was prepared to go up two scores on Bama. Eugene was surprised with a pass play called to start the drive, but he knew he had it. Slants was the call as he dropped back. Colin was wide open as he crossed the middle. His throw wasn't as good as he thought it would be. He grinned as he knew it was six for them. Terror struck. Linebacker Jerrell Harris, popped out of nowhere, snatching the ball and running for the opposite endzone. Eugene chased him down but was no match as the momentum was now even. 7-7 in less than ten seconds. Both defenses were able to stop the next few drives. The score remained tied at halftime.
The locker room was full of spirit. Tech was sticking around with number one ranked Alabama. But still, they could do better. They needed to go up by more to get this game fully into their hands. Something needed to be changed quickly or else it was only a matter of time till Bama got hot. Blair was the man to change things up. His mentality going back out onto the green was to snap Trent Richardson's arm just like Case Keenum's.
Maze was once again smashed very hard on his return. The crowd was louder than ever, craving more of this great game. All of America had their televisions tuned to this game. Players had cuts on their heads and bruises on their bodies. That didn't matter though, they had to win this game. Richardson was ready to turn it up in the second half, Blair was ready to tune him down. On the fourth play of the second half, Richardson ran to the right on a HB Draw. Richardson put up a great stiff arm on Miguel but was broken in half by Blair. Blair's helmet smashed Richardson's injured arm and he yelped out in pain. Even though he kept hold of the ball, Richardson had to return to the locker room. Later diagnosed with a snapped wrist. That's how Blair did things.
Isaac and Antwan couldn't get back to how they were in the first drive. The drive went shortly and the ball returned to a pissed off Alabama team with a few minutes remaining in the quarter. McCarron wanted to prove he was the leader of this team. Leading a great passing drive down to the twenty nine. The run game nor the pass game could get past Blair into the redzone. They settled for a field goal with no time left in the quarter. Bama now had the lead and were almost embarrassed with letting Tech keep with them.
"The kicker kicks the ball off to start this exciting fourth quarter. Both returners have been shutdown tonight, both are some of the best returners in the country. Calhoun catches it, runs to the thirty nine and down. No wait, he stayed up! He spins around the kicker and swerves down the center of the field. He steps into the endzone giving Alabama Tech the lead once again! Oh my, what a game!"
Both sides were pumped and pissed. This game lived up to all the hype that was built up for it. Players were dying out there, giving their all. All their problems were irrelevant at the moment. Blair wasn't an addict out on the field, he was a hard hitting middle linebacker. Eugene wasn't a nerd out on the grass, he was the starting quarterback. Antwan wasn't a shy kid, he was a running back going against the number one rated defense in the country. Both defenses proved BCS worthy as the clock dwindled down. Alabama's hearts were racing as they were close to being upset by a nobody Alabama Tech team.
Antwan ran for the first down line. There was only one minute and fifty eight seconds left in the game. He needed this first down to keep this game at 14-10. He leaped but was smashed into the grass, one yard short. Time ticked down to one minute and twenty two seconds. They reluctantly punted the ball back to Maze. Blair made damn sure that he wasn't going anywhere. McCarron and his undefeated offense ran out onto the field. This was their last shot to keep their National Championship run alive. McCarron was well poised, passing right over Moody and Moore. Coach Williamson's gameplay wasn't stopping this team. They drove down their like nothing. Ball on the thirty one yard line on a second down, nineteen seconds remained on the clock.
"AJ McCarron drops back, Maze surpasses Moore! Arm back but sacked by Watson! FUMBLE! FUMBLE! Alabama Tech recovers! Oh my goodness! Alabama Tech has won this game!"
It was pandamonium out their. Right before the crowd rushed the field, the whistles blew and everyone's heart sank.
"The previous play is under review," the referee announced getting a wealthy amount of boos from the crowd.
Everyone in the country stood on their toes as the referee walked back out to the fifty.
"The previous play of a fumble, is overturned."
Absolute madness. Those two words can describe the craziness in the crowd. Players cursings and fans going nuts. But what happened next would shock the country. AJ McCarron made worthy of his second oppurtunity. With two seconds left in the game because time had ticked down quickly. He called the cadance and ran back quickly. Maze ran past Taylor McNeil (SO 65) and headed straight at the endzone. McCarron released his rocket pass right before being nailed by Cronin and Watson. The ball floated in the air as time froze. McNeil jumped at the endzone line. The pigskin skimmed his finger tips as he attempted to pull it in. He hit the hard ground with no sight of the ball anywhere. With his eyes closed, all he heard was a loud reaction from the fans. Marquis Maze had caught the tipped pass for a touchdown with no time remaining.
Alabama Crimson Tide: 16
Alabama Tech Razorbacks: 14
Every player and fan of Alabama Tech stood in place motionless. Heart broken. They had came so close and literally let it slip through their fingers. Alabama's crowd rushed the field, passing a sobing Razorback team. Did that really happen? Marquis Maze ran past every Razorback, throwing the game ball in their face. He stopped just to brag personally to Colin.
"What now?" he laughed at a destroyed Colin.
Colin didn't reply with his mouth but with his hands. With two punches, the whole crowd and teams erupted into chaos. The brawl unfolded on live television. Bloody and gory. It was one of the nastiest brawls in college history and it wasn't over.

Season One - Chapter Sixteen: Unfocused
Luckily, the Bama Brawl didn't last long. No severe injuries, leading to not much of a reaction from the NCAA. Colin and Maze were both warned that if anything like this was to happen again, suspensions would be made. Coach Miles was relieved that no action was taken on the mild scruffle, but nothing could mend his broken heart. He had proved worthy of a great team but all that mattered to the state of Alabama was who ever had won. They were now 7-4 and a bowl birth was questionable at this point. One more regular season game remained against the Rice Owls. Their chance of being in the C-USA championship was impossible at this point. Usually, Tech would beat the Owls rather easily, but they were unfocused with many off-field distractions.
Pierre laid on his couch within his dorm, icing a swollen knee from the Bama game. It was the day just after the Bama game and Pierre planned on staying home all day and just watch some television. But around two thirty, there was a knock at the door. Pierre maneuvered off his couch and limped towards the door. He opened it, revealing a battered Isaac. The two hadn't talked much for the past few weeks with Isaac still bunking at Antwan's.
"What's up man? You played a great game yesterday," Isaac greeted while doing his and Pierre's old handshake. The two had grown up together on the streets of Prattville. That's why the fight they were having was really hard for both of them. Even though they made up, Isaac was still hurt that Pierre didn't believe him in the beginning.
"I'm doing okay. Thanks, you played a great game too, we should have won that," Pierre responded quietly.
"Yeah. I was thinking, the PV High Cougars are in the semi finals of the playoffs, they have a game tonight. You wanna go home for a visit?" Isaac offered.
Pierre thought about his family back in Prattville. He loved them to death but they were very dysfunctional. His mother was an alcoholic, his pops was never around, his sister worked on a pole. Neither knew how they would respond returning home after a three year dismissal. But they decided to take the chance and head home for an emotional visit.
The drive to Prattville was around two hours and the two friends talked it up the whole way there. Not just about football, but about life. They talked about girls they dated in high school, games that played for the Cougars, past friends that didn't make it quite as far as they had. Prattville was a good sized town and was very wealthy. But downtown was full of projects, it was the ghetto. Great atheletes came from those streets, but few made it out of Prattville. Only two so far, Isaac and Pierre.
Finally, they arrived into Prattville around five o'clock. The two ate at Darrell's BBQ Grill, their favorite spot to eat as kids. They finished their fried and delightful meals and now it was time to meet the family. Isaac lived right beside Pierre as they crossed over to 79th Street. The roads were cracked and full of deep pot holes. Each lawn wasn't mowed, full of junk. Pierre and Isaac's houses were run down as usual with rusty cars on the streets. The two exited the car and walked to Pierre's house first. Pierre's heart almost beat out of his chest. The riggidy front door didn't even have a door knob on it. He pushed it open to find a terrible looking house.
"Momma?" Pierre spoke as tears rolled down his cheeks. Empty beer bottles covered the floor along with mice poop. His house was nothing like before, it was worse.
The milk in the dead refrigerator was two months old and added to the stench of his house. The two walked out, thinking no one was home. Isaac and Pierre walked on down the weed-invaded sidewalk to Isaac's house. His house looked much better than Pierre's. Isaac's uncle had taken care of him and his siblings during his childhood. His father and mother were both shot up when Isaac, the oldest of the kids, was only ten. The murderer of his parents was never caught, leaving a burden on Quinton Goddard, Isaac's uncle. Isaac and Pierre walked up a nicely painted staircase and knocked a glass door. Quinton, who had developed a well amount of gray on his head. Quinton struck a huge grin as he threw the door open and hugged the boys.
"Oh, I'm glad to see you fellas here!" Quinton exhaled, "You two were great yesterday! I watched every second of that game."
The two nodded and thanked him as they walked in and relaxed on the sofa. Isaac had three younger sisters and two brothers. The youngest was a girl named, Sofia, who was ten now. The oldest was a junior in high school named Quinton Goddard Jr. who was the starting wide reciever for his high school. Isaac never got to be much of kid, having to help Quinton Sr. look over his siblings.
"So Isaac, how is your academic career handling," Quinton Sr. asked, always wanting to focus on academics of the kids.
"Good, I'm going to major in Business and hopefully get a good paycheck out of college. That is, if I don't go pro," Isaac replied as everyone laughed.
"Mr. Goddard, do you know where my mom's at?" Pierre asked timidly, not wanting to know the answer.
Quinton Sr. lowered his head as the room went dead silent. "Pierre, your mom passed away a few weeks ago. She had kidney failures when no one was home. I found her a few days later. I thought you knew," Quinton Sr. spoke gently while putting a hand on Pierre's knee. Pierre didn't cry though, he expected something like that to happen.
The two chilled at Isaac's house till seven when they headed to Patterson Stadium to watch Quinton Jr. do work. Pierre didn't want to go bother his stripper sister since she hadn't bothered to call him to tell him that his mother had died. Bitch. High school football was so much simpler than college. Even though the field and stadium weren't as nice, the spirit and support was all there. Isaac's entire family came to the game. None of the players were ridiculed on the slighest mistake, they just went out there and played.
PV High played a great game and shut out the Thomas Jefferson Patriots. Quinton Jr. caught fourteen passes for two hundred and ten yards. He also caught three touchdowns, now being looked at by college scouts. The stadium lights clicked off as players exited the locker room and fans left the game. Isaac tackled a surprised Quinton and congragulated him on a great game. Pierre and Isaac were about to head off when somebody called out to them.
"Oh my lord, is that Pierre and Isaac!" somebody yelled in utter delight in the dark parking lot.
They turned around to see their ex-quarterback, DeShawn Hillbrew. "Yo my man, D, how's it hanging?" Isaac shook DeShawn's hands.
"Nothing much, just watching your little bro go to work on these boys out here. But man, I was actually going to hit you up in a week or so. That's why I'm glad you are here. Come here for a minute," DeShawn whispered to Isaac.
Isaac left Pierre behind as the two walked over to a more private area. Isaac could tell DeShawn was serious about whatever he was talking about. DeShawn looked around, making sure they were alone, and started on his theory.
"Isaac, you know how someone from all of our families has been shot up in the last years," Isaac nodded, "Your mom and pops, my bro, Will's mom, and others. I figured it out, I've been looking through evidence for a year now. His name is Rodger Hall, he's a bad dude. He's been shooting easy people for ten years now, just to get his name out as the top dog in this town. And he is now. He runs a huge gang, like thirty guys guard him day and night. I'm gathering up all the people that had family members get shot up by him. We gonna take him out."
Isaac was full of emotions. He had so much anger for this subject. Was DeShawn right? But Quinton Sr. always said everyone is capable of forgiving. Isaac thought about throwing his future away just for some revenge. "We gonna do it here in a month or so. Your season should be over by then, you in?"
"Yeah, I'm in."

Alabama Tech was completely unfocused to say the least. Rice was 1-9 but still played like their season was still alive. Colin fumbled the first kick return of the game which gave Rice great field position to get up the first score. Isaac didn't seem to care much about the game. Antwan drove his team down two straight drives but Eugene turned the ball over both times. Blair, Hawkins, and Jeff weren't getting the job done. Rice's aerial and ground attacked were played out well. The Razorbacks were still broken from the loss from Alabama.
The score at halftime was 24-3. The team was dead and had no spirit. Isaac couldn't get the thought of killing Rodger Hall out of his head. Coach Miles couldn't find the right words to pump his team up. They had to come back so many times this year and were getting tired of it. They played average the second half, scoring a few pass plays. Nothing worked though, Rice was ready and Tech wasn't.
Rice Owls: 44
Alabama Tech Razorbacks: 20
Coach Miles and his team of nobody's had been through a lot this year. So much work in getting some respect. They had peaked and now were drastically falling down. A three game losing streak and were barely bowl eligible. Even if they were bowl eligible, how would they handle a team fully prepared to play? The odds were not in Coach Miles' favor.

Season One - Chapter Seventeen: Bowl Bound
Coach Miles sat in his office as the players stared from outside. The All-Americans and award winners were being told to the coaches before put public. A few of Tech players were being looked at for awards and all americans. Coach Miles smiled, nodded, and set the phone down in its holder. He walked out into the locker room and was going to announce to a nervous Razorback team.
"Well it's official, we know the All-Americans. We have one award winner in the room....Colin Calhoun for best Returner," Coach Miles announced as everyone clapped and Colin acted as if he knew he would win, "Blair you came in second for the Bednarik, only beaten by Travis Lewis of Oklahoma. But, you and Colin both are second team All-Americans!" Coach yelled as the team whistled and clapped, "You two were both first team All-Conference USA along with Miguel, Mark, and Tim. Isaac, Antwan, and Lance all made the second team. Hell of a year you guys."
Alabama Tech practiced lightly over the next few weeks, waiting to see if they were bowl bound. The Heisman ceremony was shocking. Andrew Luck had put up 5110 yards of passing and 54 touchdowns but still close competition was in the running back that destroyed Tech, Ronnie Weaver. Ronnie was groundbreaking, putting up 2379 yards and 32 touchdowns. Leading UCF to winning the C-USA and a Sugar Bowl birth. Somehow, after leading the race from day one, Weaver passed Luck and won the 2011 Heisman Trophy. But now, the nation would see how the bowl season was going to play out.
The Razorbacks huddled around the TV in the locker room. ESPN's Bowl Schedule was about to come on and the Razorbacks weren't sure if they were going to make a bowl appearance. Coach Miles had an idea of what bowl they were going to be in. No one really cared where Tech went, the eyes were on whoever was going to be in the National Championship. Boise State took a late lost and now it was down to Alabama, Florida State, and Texas A&M. Analysts were almost positive that it was going to be between Florida State and Alabama.
"Hello America, we're here to announce how is going to be in certain bowls for the 2011 Bowl Season. Now we all know we must start off with the biggest game. The BCS National Championship. We have all three teams on camera as we announce. THE. 2011. NATIONAL. CHAMPIONSHIP. will be against the number one ranked Alabama Crimson Tide versus the number three ranked Texas A&M Aggies!" That was a shock to everyone that number two was skipped for number three. Tech wasn't happy that their rivals were getting to play in the championship. After a grueling wait, the C-USA bowl teams were being announced. "UCF is of course, going to the Sugar Bowl. But in other te-" The power suddenly clicked off as players screamed within the darkness.
"What the hell!" Blair screamed.
The team scrambled around, trying to figure out how to click it back on. They were completely freaking out. Freshman were trampled as seniors jumped around for phones or something. A phone rang in someone's pocket. "Answer it!" The team screamed in a mad unison.
Daniel Wells grabbed his phone and answered. "Mhm, Mhm, okay," Daniel sounded like he was sad which brought the team dwon, "That was my dad, I'm sorry to tell you guys but.....WE'RE FACING PITT IN THE BEEF 'O' BRADY'S BOWL!"
The team erupted into sheer joy. They needed a pump up like this to make up for the past few weeks. Coach Miles nodded as he had known all along. The game was a month away on December 19th. No drama played out as the Razorbacks trained very hard for this game against Pitt. January ninth was the date set for Isaac and DeShawn's hoist, the same day as the BCS National Championship. But until then, he focused strictly on beating Pitt. Pierre got in on the plan too and wanted to help Isaac, so he was going as well. Blair still stuck to the drugs, giving him better performances in practice. Coach Wells had a perfect gameplan to defeat Pitt. Coach Miles truly believed his team was ready for the game. Either way, the month passed and Tech made their way to Tropicana Field in Tampa Bay, Florida.

Antwan just stared at the opposing team across the sidelines as he knew this was his final game as a Razorback. Pitt may have not been as fast as Alabama but were definitely bigger. Bigger than ECU. The stadium was packed full as it was dominated by Navy and Gold. This was more of an away game than an equal game. Pitt took possesion first as Blair lined up to kick some Panther ass. Ray Graham ran the ball really good as they headed down for a quick score. Antwan took advantage of his last time wearing the indigo jersey, breaking out on a 88 yard touchdown, the longest play of the season for them. Ray Graham wasn't going to stop anytime soon though. Pitt lineman knew to triple team Blair, causing Ray to get yard after yard after yard. After the first quarter, the score was 14-7, Pitt.
Eugene was now calm as the quarterback, making a pass dominated drive for a quick score to Colin. Pitt proved that they had a passing game as well. Dropping two 30 yard bombs, stepping up one score once again. The country couldn't keep up with this epic shoot out. Colin made worthy of his award winning season, taking ANOTHER kick to the house. The quarter went by quickly since their were barely any dropped passes. The score at halftime read 28-28.
One problem occured at halftime though. The Razorbacks hadn't played so hard all season yet that came with side affects. Lineman moaned and tried to catch their breath. Wide recievers puked as Isaac gasped for air. The third quarter was nothing like the early game. Both teams were dead and went scoreless in the third. The tired Razorbacks rushed to the sidelines for water as Coach Miles prepared his legendary speech.
"Everyone stop!" Coach Miles screamed as everyone put down the water, "Just take a second to breathe guys. It's a game boys, it's a game. You guys remember our game against UCF. Everyone counted us out," Coach Miles spoke very soft and calm, giving a comforting grin, "Remember the fourth quarter, we thought we had nothing left. Men, we played our hearts out, not just in the fourth but in OT. We beat a Heisman running back. You guys are my family and win or lose today, I am damn proud of you."
The Razorbacks went back out, wanting to make their beloved coach proud. Pitt wanted this win just as bad though, each play was mono e mono. Ray Graham was the only scorer in the fourth. Putting Pitt up by seven with two minutes left in the game. This situation seemed to present itself many times this year. Two minutes to go, everything on the line, make or break. They prayed that Colin would make another play but it wasn't to be. They had to work for it on this last drive.
"Brittain drops back and hits Wells who runs out of bounds."
Two more pass plays set them up beautifully. One thirty remained in the game and they had progressed twenty six yards.
"Ball on the fourty four, freshman quarterback Brittain sets in the pocket and hits McFarland coming out of the backfield. He gets the first but can't get out of bounds as the clock ticks down. They call no huddle with no time outs left. Brittain quickly sets back again and nails Calhoun, who is tackled at the fourteen with forty six seconds left."
Coach Miles had faith in his running backs and called two straight running plays to set them up on the two with ten seconds remaining. A spike was the prior call to stop the clock but also to make it fourth down. Isaac was usually the pounder but Antwan was sent in. Antwan breathed slowly as he squatted down for his last Razorback play. The cadance was called and the pigskin handed to Antwan. The line collapsed, causing him to dodge out to the left. A safety ran up on him and snatched around his waste. He drove towards the endzone with all his might as the crowd rumbled behind him. Coach Miles stood from the sidelines, watching his senior do work. He stretched the ball out and players clashed down on him. A whistle blew as referees ran to find the ball. Antwan couldn't see it while being crushing by Pitt players. The referee looked up and made a gesture that it wasn't a touchdown.
Pittsburgh Panthers: 35
Alabama Tech Razorbacks: 28
Antwan cried as he was no longer a Razorback. Other seniors like Moody and Hawkins were broken as well. Coach Miles took the harsh loss rather well, proud of his good season. Two weeks passed and everyone was back to normal. The loss still lingered within their minds but nothing stopped the team from gathering at Biggie's Bar to watch Texas A&M beat Bama.
Coach Miles stayed home to watch the game with his wife. The main players at the bar were Antwan, Darius, Hawkins, Dominique, and Johnnie. The game lasted around three hours and was a great time, considering Texas A&M pulled off the win. It definitely shocked the nation but was great for the Razorbacks. They loved it. It was around twelve and the bar was closing up. A party was being thrown by some junior over in Taylor Hall and they were heading for it. But before Antwan walked out, his phone randomly rang, he answered to a surprising caller.
Coach Miles was watching the post-game show, his phone rang off the hook as well. He hopped up from his comfy couch and answered his phone, discovering some news.
"Hello?" he answered in a tired voice.
"Hello there Winston, this is Gilbert Brennan, Athletic Director of the Kansas Jayhawks. We wanted to inform that Coach Wells has signed a contract to be our coordinator next year, we are also interested in you."
Before Coach Miles could reply, his front door bell rang. He put the man on hold to open the door. He opened his door to a cold windy night. Coach Miles stared into the eyes of Derrick Hollis. Coach Miles looked down at the mauled left hand of Derrick, every finger missing, now scarred over. Winston struck the 'what do you want, I'm busy' look.
"Coach, I want to play."
Two hundred miles away, Isaac and Pierre sat in a carload of guns and guys. The car was parked outside of a club that Rodger was supposed to hang around. Isaac couldn't look himself in the mirror, yet he looked in the sky at his parents. Was he really going to go through with this? Sweat trickled down his brow. He gave one last attempt to tell Pierre to go but Pierre wanted to help him. Isaac looked around to his aching friends. He nodded, cocked his pistol, and opened his door. His ragtag group wanted revenge just like him. This was war, his group fired their guns in the air like maniacs and headed in to avenge.
Back in Huntsville, more drama played out as Moody and Hawkins knocked on Blair's door. His light inside was on, yet he wouldn't answer. The party was starting and chicks were being taken. They needed to get there soon. They figured he was asleep and decided to kick his door in. The room smelled sour and dirtier than ever. Darius clicked the top light on as they gasped at a passed out Blair on the couch. A serenge sagged from his arm and the two rushed to his aid.
"Blair! Blair!" Dominique panicked.
Hawkins suddenly gasped and backed away, "He doesn't have a pulse."

Opinions
Type Of Player told by Coach Winston Miles: "Antwan wasn't much of a growling, macho runningback. He knew his plays and executed to them to perfection. If they weren't perfect, he would work until they were. Just because he didn't appear like a tough guy, Antwan was as tough as they came. He played pretty much his entire senior season on one leg. If he had been 100% in our game against Pitt, he probably could have gotten in to tie it up."
Personality told by teammate MJ Colbert: "Antwan didn't talk a lot, like myself. He just sat back and let Colin and Blair do all the trash talking. Antwan didn't believe in the yelling and screaming of football, he thought it degraded the game. Antwan was very smart as well, 4.0 student. He only had one brush with the law but it was just self-defense to clear that up. I am proud to have been a teammate of Antwan, I hope he succeeds in the NFL."

Opinions
Type Of Player told by teammate Eugene Brittain: "Talk about scary. Lance had the eyes of Satan as he went down into his stance. As a quarterback, I was just glad that he was on my team. Lance didn't talk a lot, he spoke with his sacks. Mean and quiet would describe perfectly how he was on the green. When he hit you it felt like a freight train running you clean over. He should have won the Nagurski Award."
Personality told by teammate Mark Carlson: "Having Lance as a teammate and a roommate gave me a chance to get to know him really well. He talked a lot off the field but no so much on. Lance was a crazy guy but knew how not to get in trouble. Lance has one of those addictive personalities that just fools people. Good thing he's not a thief. Lance could sell a radio to a deaf guy."

Type Of Player told by Coach Marcus Williamson: "Tim was a great player to coach because he always listened and executed whatever you told him. He didn't get much attention from the average fan because he didn't deliver the devastating blows that Blair did. Yet, he was second in the national in tackling. Tim almost even won some awards. Also, Tim loved to help the younger players. He was huge in the development of Jeff Woodard."
Personality told by teammate Blair Huff: "Tim was a great overall person. He would party but not too much, he would study but not too much. I loved playing beside Tim even though he hit like a puss haha. I still think he should have won at least one award. But Tim didn't care about that, he just loved to play football. It's all he ever had and the only thing he has now. That's why I think he has the ability to do great in the NFL."

Season Two - Chapter One: Bam Bam in Bama
"Clear!" A ER doctor screamed while rubbing the defibrillators together. A thundering shock was sent through Blair's lifeless corpse as the doctor laid the pads on his chest.
The ER doctor, Dr. Andrews, looked over at the nurse who shook her head at a pulse. "Clear!" Another shock was implied through Blair as a groundbreaking beep sounded within the room. The beat slowly picked up and Blair was now stable as doctors hooked up cords to keep him alive. Doctor Andrews sat down and took a deep breath after succeeding with Blair. Doctor Andrew's was a huge Razorback fan and knew Blair from TV. Blair had no relatives other than a mother who was always missing, so they called Coach Miles to come.
In Prattville, things were shaping up for the worse. Isaac led his militia into a dark night club. Colorful lights flashed as the group made their way through a dancing crowd. A few people noticed the guns but just thought they were part of Rodger Hall's men. Every man in that group wanted vengeance and they were going to get it. They reached the edge of the crowd and came to a door guarded by a huge man.
"Move or die," Isaac spoke while waving the gun at the man.
The man reached for his ID because he thought they were part of Hall's gang as well. DeShawn assumed he was going for his gun and sent two bullet straight through his chest. The club erupted into madness as some ran and some fired back. A few of Isaac's men were shot down, Pierre capped the door knob and busted in. Isaac, Pierre, and DeShawn all entered the room and left the others outside to fight to their deaths. Rodger sat on a red leather couch with a woman in each arm. He wore Blair Huff's football jersey with a Tech hat going sideways. He looked rather calm as his night club was now filled with holes. A long cigar hung from his mouth, looking like an Italian mafia leader.
"Is that Pierre Tyree and Isaac Goddard, star players of the Alabama Tech Razorbacks?" Rodger grinned as he went for a handshake, but the two stood there motionless.
"Listen Hall, we came here for one reason, to make sure you leave tonight in a body bag," Isaac spit on Rodger's Jordans.
Three guns waggled at Rodger but he calmy backed up with his hands up. Two men appeared from the shadows, unseen the whole time and held guns to their heads.
"I know what you brothers are doing here. I killed someone in your family, and believe it or not...I'm sorry I had to do that," Rodger let out a big puff of smoke, "You know what though, my mama was shot dead too when I was six. I lived on these streets with no support, damn man. I needed money and that was the easiest way. You know, I could kill yall right here. But if you accept my offer, you go free with a bonus. You see, I don't murder many people now a days. I'm in a new business, a thing I like to call Columbian Bam Bam. This stuff will make you rich bro, and with two local celebrities in you two, you could sell loads and loads. But you, whoever you are, you can't do nothing, kill him."
Isaac and Pierre reached to help DeShawn but a bullet was sent through his head. He fell to the ground, dead as could be. Isaac and Pierre's heart rate were going faster than lightning. Isaac tried not to tremble but he couldn't help it. He knew his only way out was to agree. Isaac could get Rodger on another day, plus with money he could be making, he could get his uncle out of that neighbourhood.
"Yeah, we'll do it."
Coach Miles stood at his door with a pitiful Derrick peering into his eyes. His phone rang once again, for Blair. He ignored it though and sneered at Derrick. The two hadn't been together since the night Derrick lost his fingers. Coach Miles still hated Derrick for endangering his life but he couldn't stay quiet for long.
"Derrick, how are you suppose to throw a pass without fingers," Coach Miles insulted a scarred Derrick.
"I've been training with my left, it's just as good coach. I need this, I have nothing coach!"
Coach Miles wanted to accept his plead within his heart but sometimes, coaches can't have hearts. "You've done enough to hurt me and the team. No."
Coach Miles slammed the door in Derrick's face and returned to his phone to completely deny Brennan's offer. Coach Miles couldn't leave his team now, they needed him to lead them in the right direction. But the biggest blow to his heart was only to come with his past running back, Antwan McFarland.
The phone call that Antwan had recieved that night was actually an invitation to the NFL combine. Antwan trained hard with Tim Hawkins and Lance Cronin, who were also invited. He made sure his knee could take a great work out.
Spring passed and things went to as normal as an Alabama Tech team could get. Blair was okay with the law, luckily he had only overdosed on his prescriptions for pain pills. Tim actually had saved Blair from a prison sentence. Blair was about to hit up the heroine but passed out right when he started. Tim hid everything and the medics didn't spot one bit of it. Isaac had almost forgot about what Rodger did to his family with the success of the drug business. By March, he moved his family into a nicer part of the city. Pierre reluctantly continued with it too. Derrick showed up to all the spring practices but was sent home every day. The team looked pretty good though, other than a few missing parts. Including someone to replace an irreplaceable Tim Hawkins and a open offensive coordinator position. Eugene and Isaac remained starters. Many freshman got a lot of time on the field before spring ended. This year was going to be questionable.
"Okay, next in the forty dash is Antwan McFarland from Alabama Tech."
Antwan lined up on a life changing dash. He breathed slowly and pushed off into a great start. His speed picked up but something didn't feel right. "A 4.41 for McFarland but wait," He finished his forty at a personal record but collapsed onto the ground while grasping his knee.

Season Two - Chapter Two: Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes
"Antwan, calm down. You could easily get picked up on free agency with your talent," Coach Miles gently spoke on a phone call on a late July evening.
"Don't fill my head with lies coach! The doctor said I will never get my skill back to normal. I'm done coach, done. I have nothing now," Antwan pitifully cried from his apartment in Dallas.
"That's not true and you know it. You got a degree in Sports Science and Medics. You could definitely become a teacher or even a coach, you have the football knowledge to ex-" Coach Miles suddenly stopped, did his mind really just suggest that ludicrous idea?
Antwan was quiet and confused for a second but quickly realized the same thing that Coach Miles was thinking, "Coach, what are you thinking?"
"It sounds crazy Antwan and I'm going to get ridiculed for life if I do it but I know you could do it. You could sign paperwork this week and be hired shortly. That is, if you want to be the offensive coordinator?" Coach Miles crazily offered.
"Coach, I would...be honored to be a Razorback again. Do you really think I could? Really?" Antwan enthusiasticly spoke.
"In the end, as the head coach, I get to pick the coordinators. Alabama Tech is a 99% academic school and doesn't really care for the football program, even with our success. They wouldn't mind."
"So, I am?"
"Yes Antwan McFarland, you are the Alabama Tech Razorback's new offensive coordinator."
It was later official that Antwan would return to Huntsville. Players were excited with the decision even though analysts all over the country had negative opinions. Antwan and Coach Miles walked through the college and headed for the athletic's office, to go over contracts and finishing details.
The two opened up the gym doors, having been told that Oscar Blevins was in the basketball gymnasium talking to head basketball coach, Bill Lewison. Oscar and Bill stood in suits as they discussed numerous things over at a table near the exit. Antwan walked towards them but Coach Miles stopped to look at the only basketball player in the gym. He recognized him as Justin Watson, the number one high school basketball player in the country. The only reason Tech got him was because his house was right beside the university along with some "bonuses" handed under the table.
Justin was a specimen unlike others, 6'7 255 pounds who ran something around a 4.5 or 4.6. Justin had looked as if he had been practicing all morning as his dark black skin was shiny from sweat. Coach watched as he jumped from the foul line and slammed a dunk with no effort. Coach Miles had to meet this superman athelete.
"Hello, you are the one and only Justin Watson aren't you? I'm Coach Miles, head coach of the football team here at Alabama Tech."
"Oh, nice to meet you coach. I'd shake your hand but I'm really sweaty. What brings you out here?" Justin replied with a wide grin.
"Just doing some paperwork on a coach, you ever play football?" Coach Miles asked.
"I did a little in pee-wee but none since then. My dad said that I need to focus on basketball," Justin nodded.
Coach Miles looked at this kid and just knew that he wasn't a basketball player, this kid was a football player. His biceps looked like they were going to bust, same with his chest and calves.
"Call me crazy Justin, but you look like a football player to me. You know, you could play at wide reciever and never get hit. Just throw it to you on the sidelines. It wouldn't mess your basketball up at all," Coach Miles tried to whisper but was overheard by Coach Lewison.
"I hope I heard wrong Winston, or else it sounds like you are trying to recruit Justin to play football," Coach Lewison growled while stomping into the conversation.
"Bill, we could use a tall man like him. He wouldn't get injured or anything, completely safe."
"Hell no! He came here to play basketball not football," Coach Lewison yelled.
"Wait you guys," Justin interrupted, "Coach Lewison, I kind of want to do it. I always liked football, especially watching it on TV. I'm not gonna play linebacker or anything, just a wide reciever or something. First time I get an injury, I'll stop."
After a good two hours of arguing. Justin Watson, star small forward, was added to the Razorback roster. The media fed on these changes, hungry for more great stories coming out of Huntsville. Paparazzi crowded around the practice field as Coach Miles and Antwan walked out onto the field, followed by Justin. They were looking for his strengths and weaknesses, hoping to be able to find him the right position. Cameras flashed as the massive Justin went through numerous drills.
His hands were rubbish surprisingly. He was fast for his size but not for a wide reciever. His blocking was horrendous, along with his feet. But he shocked everyone with the last drill he participated in, reading the backfield, reacting, and hitting a moving dummy. A linebacker drill. Watson flew through it with perfection, popping a seam in the bag when he lowered his shoulder into it. Winston and Antwan went through the drill a few more times, making sure it wasn't a fluke. It wasn't.
"Justin, you would make a hell of an outside linebacker. A good replacement for Tim Hawkins," Coach Miles smiled.
"I would love to hit a lot but I made a promise to Coach Lewison," Justin frowned.
"You know Justin, some promises are meant to be broken."
The media ate it all up as it exploded on ESPN and The Bama Network. But those people were so silly. They thought this field day of changes had ended, it hadn't. That's right, one more change. Coach Miles was replying in an interview by the press as Justin and Antwan also gave their opinions. But everyone stopped, lowered their mics, stunned silent. Derrick Hollis walked out onto the football field in full pads. He reached down and grabbed a football.
"Just watch coach!" Derrick screamed as he launched the football 60 yards. He constantly did it and even threw one directly to Justin.
Coach Miles walked out to Derrick and stared him down. Derrick wanted this as bad as someone could want something. "Derrick, I know you have the talent to play. But I still don't know if you got the heart."
"I do coach, I do!" Derrick pleaded.
"We can find out right here, right now. If you can bear crawl down the field and back with Justin on your back, you can play."
Derrick nodded, knowing that would take everything he had. Especially in this Alabama heat. He started though, he slowly clawed his way, yard by freaking yard. Cameras weren't flashing like earlier though, everyone wanted to witness this one hundred percent. Hundreds focused in on him, he screamed and cried. It was hard to balance with no left fingers. Sweat dripped off of him like Amazon rainforest rain as he finally reached the other side. He painfully turned, his arms trembling.
"You remember how you insulted and lied about me on TV! Do you!" Coach Miles screamed in Derrick's ear.
"Yes sir!" He choked out, on the brink of pure exhaustion.
"You remember how you walked out on us last year!" Coach Miles yelled even louder.
"Yes sir!" He cried.
With forty yards left, Derrick's arms collasped and he hit the dry dirt with a thud. He didn't move, just cried like he was an infant. Derrick cursed at himself for not finishing. "I'm sorry coach, I failed you," Derrick solemnly spoke from his down position.
"No you didn't Derrick, you shocked me. Go get your ass a jersey and be ready for practice on Monday."

The pregame sidelines were filled with tons of unfamiliar faces. Derrick (FR 72) had beaten out Eugene Brittain (SO 66) for the starting quarterback position. Isaac (SR 68) wasn't the only running back that was getting time though, Jonny Garner (FR 67) also helped with the double threat. Colin (JR 69) and Daniel (JR 69) remained starting wide outs with a few freshman rotating at the slot. The line was terrible, having four true freshman starting. Pierre (SR 87) saved them with his dominating presence. The defensive line was also flooded with freshman and sophomores. Miguel (JR 65) was going to lead this line just like Pierre. The linebacking core was more dominent than last year. Of course Blair (SR 83) was going to kick some ass. Jeff Woodard (SO 68) was stepping up into Tim Hawkin's role on the right side. Justin (FR 63) battled up to the starting position on the left outside. The secondary was looking to be promising, better than last years. Dominique Moore (JR 68) and Johnnie Terrell (JR 63) started at corners. Byron Childress (SR 73) started as the leader of the secondary at free safety with Taylor McNeil (JR 66) starting at strong. But possibly the best acquistion of the off season was a three star kicker who's overall was 81. Finally, a kicker!
The 2012 season had to start off in special fashion, how could it start other than a kick return touchdown by Colin Calhoun. Eastern Michigan wasn't ready for what Tech had to bring. Run right, get nailed by a Watson named Miguel. Run left, get smashed by a Watson named Justin. Break either tackle and the piss will be knocked out of you by Blair Huff. A three and out started the offensive game for EMU.
"Hollis hands it to Goddard up the middle, he follows Tyree, breaks it up the hole and goes long! A thirty six yard gain by Isaac Goddard!"
Isaac had damaged his thumb on that play causing him to come out for a play, only to reveal the hidden treasure in Jonny Garner. One man, one play, one touchdown.
"Garner gets the ball to the left, stuffed and tries to go back to the right! Jukes Thompson and gets vertical. Another series of moves as he has nothing but green in front of him! He is gone! Jonny Garner for a 47 yard touchdown on the first carry of his college career."
EMU was destroyed once again on a three and out. Blair had already knocked a helmet off this year. The crowd was so used to his helmet cracking tackles that they had a sign to countdown to a 100 helmets. The count started. Derrick Hollis got his first oppurtunity at passing. He also threw a touchdown on his first pass, similar to Garner. A 68 yard bomb to Colin, who had burned the eyebrows off the defender.
Alabama Tech continued their absolute reign of dominance going into half time. The score was 42-0 and the starters were pulled. The stadium slowly unfilled as the game dragged on. EMU pulled off a fluke score and field goal, Tech's second string scored twice.
Alabama Tech Razorbacks: 56
Eastern Michigan Eagles: 10
Derrick threw for only 101 yards and a touchdown with a interception, considering he only played two quarters. Jonny Garner blew everyone away, setting two rushing records in one night with 213 yards rushing and 4 touchdowns. Isaac didn't do too bad either with 73 yards and one score. Colin had three catches on the night resulting in one score and 87 yards. Daniel loaded up on six catches for 58 yards but no touchdown. Justin and Blair matched with eight tackles, Miguel recorded only one sack. Sadly there was no interceptions.
Coach Miles sat in his wooden chair within his darkened and mold-smelling office. Watching some film of the game played two hours prior. The locker room had been remodeled somewhat with their success but Coach Mile refused to change his office. The crappiness of it gave him motivation. He needed motivation, he was still unsure of his team. Even with their great performance, we must remember it WAS against Easter Michigan. Their next game against Troy would be nowhere near as easy.

Season Two - Chapter Three: Abused And Confused
"One word Steve, Wow. Alabama Tech impressed me a lot and I mean it. Hiring a coach with no coaching experience as an offensive coordinator was a bold move by Winston Miles. I also wanted to see how the newly acquired players of Derrick Hollis and Justin Watson played out. But to beat a team so badly with nine overall starting freshman is truly a great feat by Coach Miles," Anaylsts on the BAMA Network discussed.
Coach Miles knew the city of Huntsville and his players would be on cloud nine after a great win. He also remembered last season how everything can turn for the worst when you don't pay attention to your opponents. Troy wasn't a great team, B- at best. What made them dangerous was defensive end Jonathan Massaquoi (SR 96), quarterback Corey Robinson (SR 93), and running back Shawn Southard (SR 88). Coach Miles, Antwan, and Coach Williamson headed in on Monday practice with full intentions of getting this team ready to win.
"Second string get in there!" Antwan screamed behind his clipboard nearing the end of a rainy practice.
Isaac and Derrick headed out, both having second string players that disliked them very much. Eugene wasn't a happy camper by being replaced by a freshman and Jonny Garner had beliefs that he was much better than Isaac. Isaac hated Jonny, partly because of his record breaking performance and his cockiness. Isaac bumped shoulders with Jonny as they swapped positions. The call was I-Form Power Right and Jonny looked over to wink at Isaac on the sidelines.
"Ready, Set, 39 Close! 39 Close! Set! Go!" Eugene handed the pigskin to Jonny. Jonny darted up the C-Gap and into mid field. Jeff Woodard made a reach for him but was stiff armed. Jonny cut inward, straight towards a charging Blair Huff. Jonny closed his eyes, expecting to get nailed by Blair, he gave his best juke move he could. When he opened his eyes he had blown past Blair and into the endzone. The team oohhhhh'd and gave mad props to Jonny, pissing Isaac off. Blair was a loose cannon, especially after getting beat. He speared Jonny in the endzone and started throwing haymakers.
"I could rape you little boy if I wanted to. If there was a freaking glass of water right here, right now, I would drown you like Casey Anthony, bitch!" Blair screamed into Jonny's terrified eyes.
"Blair, shut the hell up and get off of him you pansy," Byron Childress laughed as Blair growled while backing away. Jonny got up to continue his props and even blew a kiss to Isaac. Isaac sneered, that was the last straw.
"Garner! ATU drill, now!" Isaac screamed while walking out onto the field.
The team responded with a 'hell yeah' reaction. All the freshman looked around, having not been introduced to the drill yet. They normally didn't do it till mid season but Coach Miles knew what was going on and made an exception. The ATU Drill was created by Coach Miles the previous year and tested the true skills and fight of offensive backs and linebackers. The backs would spin around a dummy and was instantly met by a defender. They were liable of juking, spinning, or trying to run through the man.
"Let's go boy! Let's go!" Isaac yelled as he awaited the whistle. It sounded and he sprinted towards the indigo dummy and spun around it. Jonny stepped up and attempted a tackle. Isaac lowered his shoulder, knocking the tar out of Jonny. Football drill crowds are the best crowds around, they run out screaming and high stepping. Embarrassing for the loser, wonderful for the winner. Jonny stepped up out of the mud and went to grab the ball.
"Not today!" Isaac blurted out while standing behind the bag.
Jonny stumbled out and spun around the bag. Isaac ran towards him but was unsuccessful. Jonny juked him out so bad that he slipped in the mud. Broken ankles couldn't even give justice to this juke. Coach Miles stopped it at this point, knowing a fight would break out if they were to go any further. Things didn't exactly calm down that week but the talent was all there. Besides the disputes in the team, Coach Miles believed they were ready to face off against Troy.

Roars and screams filled the air as Alabama Tech Razorbacks rushed out onto the field. A crowd mixed with crimson and indigo filled the stadium, bringing back harsh memories of last year's Alabama game. Blair gave his 'you must kickith the ass' speech which gets everyone pumped up. They seemed as ready as possible anc headed out to start the game. Troy won the toss and decided to take the ball first.
Troy was a quick offense, running the no huddle spread. Corey Robinson drove his Trojans down the field as the secondary was wearing down. His passes had great precision and speed, defeated the pass attack line. After six minutes of driving, Troy reached the twenty nine yard line.
"Robinson's back, throws it deep! Intercepted by Johnnie Terrell! He returns it a few yards and tackled at the five yard line!" Alabama Tech got very lucky and needed to step their game up. Derrick ran out onto the field and stopped. Derrick exchanged eyes with Troy's head coach. He remembered putting his Troy Trojans hat on during signing day, two years earlier. They dropped him on minor offenses. He peered down to his scarred right hand and wondered that if he wasn't cut, maybe he would never have lost his fingers. He looked at Troy in disgust and wanted some revenge.
"Goddard runs forward but grabbed and thrown down by Massaquoi for a zero gain," Derrick got back in the huddle to call a PA Waggle Left, it was play making time, "Hollis hands to Goddard, no it's a fake. He stands in the pocket, Massaquoi jumps on his back! He breaks loose, and scrambles upfield. Hollis gets the first and more. He runs to the right where he has three blockers! Hollis is gone, past the 50! One man can catch him.....nope! 95 yard touchdown run by Derrick Hollis, wow!"
Troy's run game didn't do very well, resulting in a short drive to end the first. Derrick almost caught flame because he was so hot, hitting Colin on a forty six yard touchdown. Johnnie Terrell picked another one off and Derrick took the ball again. Another flawless drive by Hollis occured and he hit another touchdown pass to tight end, Brandon Lane. Corey Robinson hit a long pass before the half ended to make the score 21-7. The second half wasn't as good for Derrick. He ran in another touchdown but threw two picks, allowing Troy to fight back in the game. Isaac ran in a 12 yard score, followed by a Shawn Southard touchdown. Troy faught back in it, making it close with four minutes remaining. The score read "38-38".
Isaac wanted to take the field to drive for a game leading score but was put down by Antwan. Jonny stepped in and ran the ball pretty good. With two minutes left, he broke out a 26 yard run to the three yard line.
"I got this," Isaac spoke while running out onto the field.
"Isaac, let Garner get this one," Coach Miles screamed, sinking Isaac's heart.
Jonny ran it in as the crowd rumbled. Isaac looked around at the fans that no longer belonged to him. He had fallen to a freshman and couldn't face the facts. A tear rolled down his cheek as Jonny jumped and partied with the line. The D-Line recorded three straight sacks to give the ball back. Alabama Tech had pulled off their second win in a row.
Alabama Tech Razorbacks: 48
Troy Trojans: 38
Justin threw his bag down in his room and walked into his kitchen. Justin still lived with his parents since his house was thirty feet from the university. His house was nice but not anything special. Some recruiters offered him money to expand his house but he smartly turned them down. Justin was a loving soul and didn't talk much, almost a twin to Tim Hawkins. His mother stood at the sink, washing dishes. She smiled at his arrival.
"Oh honey, that was a great game you played. Eight tackles, not too bad. Maybe football is your sport," she laughed while hugging him.
"Eh, maybe. Is Dad home yet?" Justin nervously asked.
Justin hadn't talked to his father for two weeks. His father, Joseph Watson, had been on a business trip to Tokyo, Japan. Joseph cared a lot for Justin and wanted him to succeed in basketball. No one had told him that Justin was playing football. Justin sighed, not wanting to face his father on the subject. He took a shower and laid in his bed, glaring at his basketball trophies that sparkled in the moonlight.
"You did what?!" Justin heard on the other side of the house. He had slipped into a nap near three o'clock. The voice sounded like his father's.
"Jo, he wanted to. I saw it in his eyes and I told him he had my permission," he heard his mother speak as he rubbed his eyes and walked to them.
They bursted out into an argument while Justin closed in. Right when he walked around the corner he was stunned into a panic. His father drew his hand back and forcefully slapped his mother across the face. She fell onto the couch holding her face as he growled at her, vains popping out his head. He turned and saw Justin.
"You idiot! You really want to throw everything away!?" He screamed while pushing Justin into the wall. Even with Justin having a monster body, he didn't get angry, he got scared. A gentle giant. His lips quivered as his father slapped him across the face.
"I'm sorry, sir!" Justin whimpered out.
His father dropped him onto the floor. Justin sat there holding his face, breathing heavily while looking at his poor mother. Joseph stomped outside and into his car. He quickly left the house to somewhere unknown.

Season Two - Chapter Four: Losing It
Alabama Tech's record stood at 2-0, getting them recognized all over the country. Rumors started about a BCS appearance by Tech causing distractions within the team. Week three was a bye for Tech which was good because they needed to prepare for Georgia Tech. The team looked flat, even with all this hype surrounding them. Coach Miles had fueds on previous teams but nothing like this between Isaac and Jonny. Jonny had just over 250 yards and five touchdowns. Isaac held only around 140 and one touchdown. Derrick looked like a stud at the QB position with over 500 yards of total offense and five touchdowns. Colin had around 175 receiving yards, 3 touchdowns, and 6 catches. Daniel didn't have many stats. Justin and Blair both tied at 16 tackles, leading the nation. Miguel recorded 2 sacks and Johnnie Terrell had 2 interceptions.
The NCAA was looking a slight different but not much. Alabama stood at number one, Wisconsin at number two, Oregon at three, Stanford at four, South Carolina at five, Texas A&M at six, Virginia Tech at seven, Nebraska at eight, Miami (With the help of Nevin Shapiro) at number nine, and TCU at number ten. James Franklin (SR 93), the quarterback of Missouri led the Heisman Race right out of the gate. The next four candidates were all running backs: Lamar Miller (SR 95) of Miami, Thretton Palamo (SR 92) of Utah, Matthew Tucker (SR 93) of TCU, and Brennan Clay (JR 89) of Oklahoma. No teams specifically were on the rise, since it was only week two.
An easy week of practice played out for the Razorbacks. Saturday approached and the Razorbacks took a needed rest. Coach Miles was forced into a media day by the university and it occured Sunday morning. Not all the players were going to be interviewed. Derrick Hollis, Isaac Goddard, Jonny Garner, Colin Calhoun, Pierre Tyree, Miguel Watson, Justin Watson, Blair Huff, and Byron Childress were the subjects. Head reporter, Evan DeNiro, trained his staff all week to milk out questions from the players, luring them into trouble. His goal was to start some sort of drama just to have his name in the paper or on ESPN.
"Blair, if you had to pick between Tim Hawkins or Justin Watson to play beside, which one would you choose?" Reporter Gina Smitt asked.
"Well Gina, I'd choose you, because you could accompany me after the game as well," Blair smiled as she giggled and blushed.
"Hey Blair, shut the hell up," Coach Miles leaned over and whispered in Blair's ear.
"So Pierre, you and team mate Isaac Goddard grew up together and now you both start for the Alabama Tech Razorbacks. How would you explain that feeling?"
"I don't know. Isaac has always had my back, and I've had his. I remember when were seven or eight and we had went to our secret fort somewhere in the park. We made a promise to each other to get out of that town and we did."
Media day was going really well surprisingly. Coach Miles did a few interviews before wearing down. DeNiro wasn't going home without a major headline though. He expected to get one out of Colin but Colin was too hungover from a night of partying hard. DeNiro had a plan B and put it into action. He knew very well that Jonny Garner and Isaac were having a fued and he was going to take advantage.
"Isaac, it's your senior season and you've started out pretty slow. Yet freshman back, Jonny Garner, has started out pretty strong. Are you nervous of losing your starting job?" Evan smirked directly at Isaac.
Coach Miles snapped his head over and knew DeNiro's scheme.
"Hell no! He had a good game and I give him props for that but he ain't Isaac Frick'n Goddard. He may have some moves but he isn't starting material yet."
Jonny walked over, ready to go at it. "Yeah sure Isaac, that's why I broke your ass last week. I got double your yards bro, and four more touchdowns. I already got your job, deal with it," Jonny Garner pushed Isaac back down into his chair.
"Really boy? Last time I recall, you're so young that you still probably sucking on your mama's left tit," Isaac went chest to chest with Jonny.
Flames roared within the pupils of these players. Coach Miles rushed through the sea of chairs but he couldn't reach them in time.
"At least I got a mama," Jonny threw in Isaac's psychotic face.
Isaac tackled Jonny across the room and up against the wall. Jonny threw uppercuts into Isaac's face but Isaac's rage was too much. He lifted Jonny and slammed him onto the concrete floor. Other players grabbed to break it up but with no success. Repeated strikes went across Jonny's face. Isaac was no longer himself, he had completely lost it. Jonny lost consciousness. Punches kept raining down on a defenseless Jonny. Six grown men couldn't stop Isaac's massacre. Jonny's face was barely recognizable, covered with cuts, blood, and bruises. Nothing could stop Isaac.
"ISAAC STOP!" Pierre suddenly screamed out.
Isaac stopped and fell off to the side of Jonny's beaten body. He was breathing heavily and couldn't bare looking at Jonny. He looked around at his confused team mates. Coach Miles stood in the corner and just shook his head. Isaac jumped up and ran out to his car. Tears ran down his face as he rushed through traffic. His knuckles were bloody while they gripped the steering wheel. Isaac arrived at his dorm and dropped to his knees.
"Why God?! WHY?!" He sobbed into his bloody hands.
Isaac glanced at himself in the mirror. He had become a monster. Here he was, selling cocaine and being greedy like the man that killed his parents. He worked for that man. Instead of settling things on the field, he acted like the gangsters that never made it out of his hometown. Isaac punched the mirror, shattering it and cutting his hands further.
Pierre had followed Isaac back to their dorm. Pierre stood in the doorway, looking at his broken friend.
"Isaac, you gotta stop this man. The drugs, everything," Pierre sternly spoke as Isaac continued his sobbing.
"I can't man, I'm addicted to money," Isaac sniffled back.
"Either you stop or you get out of my dorm," Pierre growled.
"You really gonna do that to me? Really?" Isaac got up, now offended.
"Yeah really, how do you think I feel when my best friend sits in here and makes drug delivery calls everynight?"
"Wow man, I thought you were better. Go to hell," He said, pissed off.
A misty white coat of clouds formed in the night sky above Huntsville. The moon lit up the sky like a flashlight in pure darkness. Isaac sat in his car which was parked deep in the woods. It sat on a cliff that overlooked the bright lights of Huntsville. No one knew where Isaac was except for Isaac himself. He sat in the driver's seat and thought about his life. The good and the bad. Mostly bad in his opinion. He gripped a gun in his right hand. After hours of thinking, he had came to a decision. Isaac cocked the gun, put it beside his skull, and closed his eyes.

Season Two - Chapter Five: The Better Watson
Isaac's lip quievered madly as he laid his finger on the trigger. He gulped and thought deeply. He opened his eyes and threw the gun out of the car. Isaac still had things to do here, he couldn't leave, not now. Rodger still had to pay the price for the death of his parents. Isaac drove back to his dorm and apologized to a worried Pierre. They made up for the moment and Isaac went on living with Pierre.
"How about one more for Georgia Tech!" Coach Miles shouted. Isaac and Jonny were running for the incident at media day. A hundred yard dash for each thing Coach Miles could name, which was a lot of things.
"One more for being jackasses!" He screamed as the two coughed hurtily.
"Make that two for being a dumbass as well!"
The running continued for a while. After thirty or so, Coach Miles left them lying on the field.
"Bro, I'm sorry for all this. You are good but not as good as you think you are....yet. I just didn't like your cockiness, it pissed me off," Isaac grumbled out to Jonny as they lay there in pain.
"Yeah, my bad on what I said about your mama. That was a dick move by me for sure," Jonny apologized.
They weren't exactly friends now, but no longer arch rivals. Coach Miles didn't have time to deal with these pre-madonnas, George Tech was awaiting them. Even though Georgia Tech seemed harmless, they also had two wins and zero loss. Their double wing, triple option offense was nothing like Alabama Tech had ever played. The Yellow Jacket backfield included: a speedy quarterback in David Sims (JR 91), a monster fullback named Richard Watson (SR 86), and a tackle dodging freshman running back of Brandon Gonzalez (FR 81). The game was Thursday at Georgia Tech's field. The offense went through their usual drills but Coach Miles had a special treat for his defense to prepare them.
"Okay fellas, today I have a special drill to prepare for that frick'n sack of meat called Richard Watson. Blair, I know you'll run up through the hole with intentions of knocking the piss out of him but guess what, tackle low or get your head shoved up your ass. Well shoved up more than it was earlier. So today I invited a little friend...players, so hello to Kimto Meing. He's a professional sumo wrestler from Japan who's here for a tournament and we got him in some pads to represent Richard Watson."
The massive 6'5 600 pound monster of a man walked out onto the field. His shoulder pads didn't exactly fit, along with his pants and helmet. He laughed as the players went to meet him.
"Ohh hell yeah coach! Let's go!" Blair screamed as he lined up to hit him first.
Kimto grabbed the ball and ran towards Blair. Blair shot towards him, launching his shoulder into the gut of Kimto. Blair flew back and laid on his back as Kimto walked by.
"Damn, this dude is big. Again!"
This time Blair hit lower, making Kimto timber like a falling tower. He hit the ground with a loud thud. Coach Miles laughed as the players went crazy on Blair.
"I'm sorry Haiti! I'm sorry!" Blair yelled while running in circles happily.
Thursday came quickly and the Razorbacks headed to Georgia. It was time to show everyone how good this year's team truly was. Make or break. Put up or shut up. Game time.

Alabama Tech recieved the ball first and Derrick Hollis went out to show his stuff. They quickly drove up the field with a duo of passing and rushing. Isaac had a few good runs and Derrick scrambled for two first downs. But Georgia Tech stepped up their D and stopped them before the Razorbacks reached field goal range. Blair, with the help of Kimto's training, stuffed Richard Watson's first run. But nothing could stop Brandon Gonzalez.
"Ends contain! Contain!" Blair screamed as Sims took the snap. Blair rushed forward to tackle Watson but Sims pulled it away. Justin hit Sims but not before he was able to pitch it to Gonzalez. Gonzalez got to the sidelines where he crossed over Johnnie Terrell. He got vertical and ran over Taylor McNeil. Nothing but green was in front of him. Blair attempted to chase him down but was no success. Georgia Tech got the first blow on thier second play. Luckily, their kicker missed the extra point.
Isaac's runs resulted in two straight stuffs. Derrick lined his offense up on third and long. He received the snap and dropped back. Daniel was covered and so was the slot man Willie Porter (FR 67). Derrick snapped his head left and spotted Colin beating the safety deep. He released a bomb as it soared through the humid air. Colin pulled it down and ran it in for the score. The third time this season that Derrick connected to him on a 50+ yard pass.
"Wow, Derrick Hollis threw quite a pass right there. Alabama Tech now leads 7-6 as the first quarter comes to an end."
George Tech took Alabama Tech's pass as a fluke and came back out to do some more work. Sims and his double wing ran up the field in a hurry. Richard Watson showed his sheer power by running clean over Blair and past Justin. He took it the distance on a 53 yard score. Alabama Tech was looking good, like their previous drive until a mistake by Derrick.
"Hollis scrambles out and has the first. He's not stopping, puts a move on Mays...fumble!! Williams scoops it up and runs it back for a score! This puts Georgia Tech up 20-7 with a few minutes remaining in the half."
Colin "Speed Devil" Calhoun returned his second touchdown on the year. This rose Alabama Tech's spirits where they were cruedly crushed by another grueling drive by Sims and his Yellow Jackets. Richard Watson ran in another score from eleven yards out to close the half with the score being 27-14.
The Razorbacks weren't used to being down at the half this season. They were stunned silent in the locker room. Georgia Tech took advantage and Brandon Gonzalez ran a 74 yard score to put this game out of reach. Jonny Garner helped another drive by the Razorbacks and scored. The Yellow Jackets didn't slow down and scored another touchdown as the fourth ended. Derrick Hollis through a late touchdown just to pad his stats but with no avail. Alabama Tech had fallen for the first time this year.
Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets: 41
Alabama Tech Razorbacks: 27
Derrick's stats were pretty good. He passed for 244 yards and two passing touchdowns. Isaac and Jonny both had a rushing touchdown with under 50 yards each. Colin had right under 100 yards and a score while Daniel remained statless. Miguel had zero sacks along with his fellow lineman. Blair recorded 9 tackles and sack, Justin only pulled in 4 tackles. Coach Miles was now wondering if his team was as good as he had assumed.

Season Two - Chapter Six: Busted
Coach Miles hated BYE weeks mostly because it always threw them off beat, so he put them early in the schedule. Once again, there was a BYE week as Alabama Tech had to recooperate from a tough loss. Rice was their next oppenent in week six and Coach Miles planned on beating their ass. Jonny and Isaac found a path to living within the same backfield. Coach Miles and Antwan both knew that Jonny was better but the team wouldn't play hard for them like they did for Isaac. Isaac brought some kind of a force with him when he stepped onto the green, he was the leader and everyone followed him.
Something that tickled the coaches to death was the fact that no major injuries had occured. Rice's defensive line was weak so the Razorbacks planned on running a smashmouth offense. Another week of practice was ahead for the Razorbacks as they strapped up to truly kill Rice. Nothing was going to stop them, nothing. They needed to redeem their loss against Georgia Tech with a big ole W. It was time to put the work hats on.
"Yeah, you little pussy. I'm gonna knock your dick off here in a second, just wait bitch!" Blair screamed halfway through a Tuesday practice.
Pierre had completley owned Blair on a halfback sweep, pancaked him into the dirt. Blair hated it when he lost, you can ask half the people in the local hospital. The maniac bought a lottery ticket, lost, went to the lottery building and head butted all their windows into pieces. Pierre just shook his head as everyone else did, being used to playing beside a future serial killer. The next play was a PA Waggle and Blair dropped back into coverage. Derrick hit Jonny on the pass for a few yards and the play ended. Blair was still pissed though, he ran full speed at an unaware Pierre who had his back turned, walking towards the huddle, and rammed his helmet deep into his back. Pierre let out a scream and grabbed at his back.
"That's what you get you fat ass," Blair spit on Pierre's practice jersey.
Pierre punched the ground and jumped up with a furious look painted on his face. His eyes twitched as Blair and they growled at one another. Pierre let out a scream as he shoved Blair into a by-stander.
"What the hell is wrong with you!?" Pierre yelled.
Blair didn't like being pushed around and launched a heymaker into Pierre's gut. Pierre was much bigger and much more mad, he easily smacked Blair's helmet which sent him onto the ground. Players attempted to break it up but Pierre had grabbed Blair and started unloading punches. The two got back on their feet as they wrestled around. Pierre wrapped Blair up and threw him into the ground with a deathly thud. A stomach churning cracking noise echoed in the mash pit. Blair groaned as the two paused and looked at Blair's mangled arm.
"God Dammit!" Coach Miles yelled at the two, "Call an ambulance!".
They continued their week of practice, but the defense looked silly without Blair in their. Wednesday morning they had gotten the confirmed diagnosis that Blair's arm was snapped into pieces. They also confirmed that Blair had went missing before the doctor could telll him whether or not he could play. Blair had enough drugs at his place to hold off some of the pain but seriously, who really thought a broken arm would stop Blair Huff?
The practice week ended Friday and the players got the Saturday off to relax and watch some other teams play. The majority of team just stayed in their dorms and did so. But Derrick and Colin had recieved tickets to go watch Kanye West and Jay-Z in concert. They were also given a third ticket and decided to invite Justin Watson to go with them. Justin's dad didn't like the idea very much.
"Hell no son, you gotta study and keep your grades up for basketball season!" Justin's dad screamed at him as he attempted to make his way out of the door.
"Dad, it's only one day. Just chill, it will be fine."
"Don't tell me to 'chill', you are not going to that concert!"
Justin sneered at his father and opened the front door. His father grabbed his collar and yanked him back in, he released two punishing smacks onto the face of Justin. Justin winched and angrily pushed his dad off and ran off to get in Derrick's car.
"Dude, you okay? What was that all about?" Colin asked in a puzzled tone.
"Nothing, just go," Justin replied while holding his sore cheek and watching his dad punch the door as they drove away.
The concert was amazing and packed as well. Justin was glad he went because Derrick and Colin sure knew how to have a good time. Kanye and J rocked it up there for two hours. The clock hit eleven o'clock and the trio decided it was time to leave the groupies alone and head home. Derrick had parked his green mustang in a parking garage across the arena. It took them a few minutes to get their, but they did, and with a surprise.
Cars littered all around the garage with a few people walking around, trying to find their cars. Derrick spotted his car and they made their way to it. A middle aged man walked around the car, taking pictures of it.
"Eh man? What you doing?" Derrick asked, confronting the man.
"My name's Frank Bluestone, and you are Derrick Hollis. Just to let you know, I'm a detective and I got you two. I know you guys got 'gifts' for choosing Alabama Tech from a man named Ernest Wilson. I know you got this car, that house of yours, and probably those tickets tonight from him. You guys are done when the NCAA finds out about this."

Season Two - Chapter Seven: Digging A Deeper Ditch
"Eh man, we bought this stuff ourselves so back off," Derrick interrupted while making his way to the car door.
Mr. Bluestone jumped in his path and continued, "Trust me boys, I have evidence of you accepting money. You could've transferred but no, the paychecks were too great. But before you guys piss yourselves, I want you to be aware of what my true goal in this. I want your benefactors to give me money to keep my mouth shut, if not, kiss your college careers goodbye."
Justin looked very out of place, he stood looking back and forth as Derrick and Colin whispered in each other's ears. Mr. Bluestone had a greedy grin on his face as he peered at them.
"Okay you dumb prick, if you say one word about this. We will personally kill your ass," Colin growled while tossing a phone number into Mr. Bluestone's hands.
The groups parted ways and the young Razorbacks got into their car. Colin and Derrick wiped their faces in frustration. Justin sat in the backseat, now having a big secret on his conscious. What if investigators were to come to him? Should he tell the truth or just lie to keep his friends safe? This was way too much for a freshman who already started for the team. Justin was taking anxiety medicine since the age of 16 when recruiters started to pile up at his door. His dosage seemed to double.
"Justin, break down and launch into the frickin' man!" Coach Williamson screamed at Justin on a Tuesday practice.
Justin shook his head and went back to his defensive position beside Blair. Blair was still the monster as usual even with his shattered arm. The cast he wore actually was used as a weapon when no one was watching.
"Coach, Derrick's missed nearly 16 tackles today," Coach Williamson discussed with Coach Miles.
Coach Miles thought for awhile looking at his writing pad, "Run a stretch right at Justin's gap with Isaac."
The call was relayed and both sides lined up for the play. Justin squatted into his stance as Derrick gave the cadance. The ball was snapped and given to a furious Isaac who was looking to kill. Isaac shot up the hole where Justin came flying. CAK! A sound of shoulder pads meeting shot all over the field. Justin stumbled back and fell straight on his ass. Isaac continued the run until he was clotheslined by Blair.
"C'mon Justin! Get out, just get out! Coach, we're switching to a nickel this week. Put Craig in at safety!" Coach Miles screamed over at Coach Williamson.
Derrick and Colin gave each other a guilty glance but went back to the huddle. Rice was 0-4 and supposedly not much of a challenge for the Razorbacks. But whenever the Razorbacks aren't 100% focused, anyone can beat them.

"Derrick Hollis and his crew have drove down the field on their first possession and now stand at the 38 yard line. Porter goes in motion and Hollis drops back, throws it for Wells but no! Picked off by Baker who is brought down."
Coach Miles threw his clipboard down as the offense ran onto the sidelines. The very next play, Rice's quarterback, Taylor Cook, launched a 60 yard touchdown pass. Another three and out followed Alabama Tech where Rice led another touchdown drive which was capped with a 39 yard touchdown pass from Cook. Jonny fumbled the first play of the next drive, giving Rice another touchdown to end the quarter 21-0. Derrick sprained his wrist so Eugene went out to lead the offense. Interception. Six yard touchdown run by McGuffie to put the Owls up by 28.
"God dammit!" Blair screamed on the sidelines while flipping a cooler over, "I can't do anything with this damn cast on, I'm taking it off!"
The defense went out on the field with Blair trying to rip his cast off. They quickly drove down to the 34 as Blair finally ran out to the field.
"Taylor Cook drops back but Huff comes in on the blitz! Without his cast! He has Cook, sacked on the play!" Blair went crazy even with his purple arm.
"Cook drops back, throws a rocket but tipped by Huff and caught by Craig! Lorenzo Craig has some blocks and is going down the sidelines. EW! Nasty hit on the quarterback as Craig takes his interception 80 yards to the house!"
The Razorbacks and their fans rose to their feet and stopped Rice in three plays. Isaac ran in a touchdown with 1:36 left in the half. The rally of the quarter was not over though. Justin shook his distractions for a second to pull down an interception on a long drive by the Owls. With 10 second left in the quarter, Derrick hit Colin for a breakaway 64 yard pass. The score at the half was 28-21, the Owls.
"You see, this is what happens when you don't come out focused! But when do we ever come out focused?! Never! Luckily, we made a few plays and are back in this game! Step it up next half!" Coach Miles screamed in the locker room.
Silence filled the room even with their prior rally. Momentum was on their side but it was a feeling too familiar to the Razorbacks. Seniors sat lifelessly, just wondering about the team. If they can only be toe to toe with Rice, how were they supposed to Alabama, ECU, Houston or the harder teams they play.
Isaac, not a usual motivational speaker, stood up in the midst of the silence and began an emotional speech, "Guys, I know we're in college and you're in your prime and stuff. You got all these distractions like parties, girls, or anything non important. But guys! We have 15 weeks to make something work in a season! I have 8 left, and I don't want to use up those eight in the wrong way. Who knows? This may be the last time you play in your life, you could get injured or have too mistakes. But don't you guys wanna walk out this building whenever you do, champions? Don't you? DON'T YOU!? Don't you wanna be proud of your career? Don't you? DON'T YOU?! Don't you want to make Coach Miles proud? Don't you? DON'T YOU?! Don't you wanna show everyone that no one messes with these Razorbacks of Alabama Tech? The team that wouldn't do anything positive for decades? DON'T YOU!? DON'T YOU?!"
The Razorbaacks broke into a roaring sensation and headed back out to finish this battle. Rice wasn't going to back down though, they were going to have to fight to win this one. Rice's quarterback kept on his electric game and drove down the field to score on a short run. Colin had been shut down all day on the returns and he decided he was taking this one to the house. The kick went high into the air as the stadium shook. Colin caught the ball and sprinted up the middle. Owls hit the ground with powerful thuds. No one expected Colin's burst of strength though, he ran flat over a player and broke free into the green to take it back to the house.
"Yeah boy!!" Colin ran on the sidelines, "Y'all see that hit stick!?"
"Shut up, it was the kicker," Antwan laughed as he hugged Colin on the great play.
The next series, a ball was tipped at the line of scrimmage and intercepted by a Razorback D-Lineman. Derrick drove them down the field, where he scrambled in for a game tying touchdown. This shootout was far from over. Taylor Cook capped his last third quarter drive with his fourth passing touchdown of the game. There were two great quarterbacks playing in this game though. Derrick led his team back down the field with the help of Isaac. Isaac powered into the endzone to tie it up 42-42.
"Cook drops back and launches a rocket to start the drive, he got him deep! Caught and running! Touchdown Rice!"
Alabama Tech was shut down for the first time in awhile. But whoelse to put them back in this game but Lorenzo Craig who already a pick six. He intercepted the ball and returned it for his second touchdown of the game. Rice was stopped and punted the ball to Alabama Tech with 1:01 seconds remaining. Score read: 49-49.
"456 PA Waggle Out, break!" Derrick went out to the field and recieved the snap and hit Jonny on a slip screen for a wealthy amount. They drove quickly to the fifteen yard line with 14 seconds left.
The kicking game was not very good and even a 30 yard field goal was risky. Coach Miles decided to give the offense one chance to get in the endzone. Good decision.
"Hollis takes the snap, drops back. Wells and Calhoun both covered! Hollis scrambles out and reverses. Gets a great block! Past the line of scrimmage! Follows a block into the endzone to put them up!"
Just like that, Alabama Tech had prevailed in a close game.
Alabama Tech Razorbacks: 56
Rice Owls: 49
Derrick only had 150 yards passing, one passing touchdown, and interception. But he also had 50 yards rushing and two touchdowns. Isaac had 80 yards rushing and two touchdowns. No recievers had a big game. Blair and Byron Childress both wrapped up 10 tackles. But the big stat was for Rice's quarterback. He had a great game with 595 yards and 5 touchdowns.
The digital clock in the film room told that the time was 2:45 P.M. and the coaches were finishing the Sunday film session. Someone knocked on the door and Coach Miles told them to come in. Surprisingly, it wasn't a coach or player, it was a young lady. She was about 5'5 with brown hair and green eyes. She had great curves along with a beautiful face. Coach Miles looked back and smiled at her.
"What do you need?" He asked her.
Antwan studied her face and knew it from somewhere but he wasn't sure. It would be hard to forget a face like that. But he couldn't put a finger on it.
"Can I borrow your credit card to buy some books?" she asked.
He threw his card at her and she caught it, they both said bye and returned to film. Antwan had finally figured out where he had seen her. He saw her last year at a club. It was all coming to him. It was the night when he and a bunch of other seniors went to party. He tried to get to her but was stopped and ended up in a fight and later in jail.
"Eh Coach, who was that?" Antwan asked.
"She's my daughter."

Season Two - Chapter Eight: Battle For Bama
"So Coach Miles, who do you think are the leaders of your Alabama Tech team?" one of the anchors asked Coach Miles on the Bama Network.
"We have many leaders on the field and off the field. But if I had to name a few, they would be: Linebacker Blair Huff, Lineman Pierre Tyree, and Runningback Isaac Goddard. These three really set the tone during games."
"I recieved word that we have all three of them backstage...wait, I am now aware that Blair Huff is the only one here. Anyways, bring him out," Coach Miles listened and looked confused but continued the interview with Blair.
No one knew exactly why the two were not present. The reason behind it was that Isaac had recieved a phone call from Rodger Hall, it was urgent. Pierre didn't want Isaac to go alone, so he went with him to Prattville. They missed the Monday practice and everything. Both of them sat in a dark room, waiting for Rodger to come in.
"I don't feel that great about this bro," Pierre whispered to Isaac.
"Don't worry, he's probably just telling me about a new product or some crap like that," Isaac eased the tension.
Light poured into the room as Rodger walked in. He had a wicked grin written on his face. He sat down across from them as Isaac greeted him, Pierre was not as fond.
"So Isaac, my brother. One of my accountants, found a few errors in the cash records. Trust me, we went back twenty times and it always came out wrong. Each bag cost three thousand dollars, okay? You took 500 bags and returned 44, therefore you sold 466? But we only got money for 460! So, has your little bitch ass been trying to use the product?" Rodger started screaming in pure rage as he flipped a table in the room.
Pierre looked stunned at Isaac while sweat dripped down Isaac's face. Rodger gripped Isaac's jaw and propped his chin up. He grabbed a flashlight and shined it in his nostrils, white flakes reflected the lights.
"You're busted bitch. Looks like we gotta clean your nose out bruh?" Rodger spoke while throwing a heymaker into Isaac's face. Isaac flipped over in his chair while blood spouted out of his nose. Pierre flew out from his chair and tackled Rodger. Rodger whipped out a knife on the ground and stabbed at Pierre. Pierre dodged the thrusts and returned to his feet, helping Isaac up as well.
"We'll pay you back, just let us go," Pierre offered while holding Isaac up.
"Alright, three weeks or I'm coming after you."
The two left the building and hurridly got into the car. Pierre drove quickly to somewhere he knew was safe, Isaac's old house. Before entering though, Pierre needed to have a heart to heart with Isaac. He looked over at his torn friend and started to speak, "Isaac, you need to stop."
"Nah man, I deserved that. I broke the rules," Isaac replied while wiping the remaining blood off his face.
"You're breaking the law! This man killed your damn parents and you're gonna work for him? What the hell is wrong with you? You're changing!" Pierre emotionally screamed, tears rolling down his cheeks.
Isaac just peered down at his jeans, knowing Pierre was right, "I'm trying, bro."
At the peak of the tears, someone knocked on the car window. Isaac wiped his tears away and rolled down the window, where Quinton Jr. stood smiling.
"What up Isaac?" Quinton Jr. smiled while hugging him through the car window.
"Nothing much, you just get back from practice? I heard y'all are undefeated and you're the team captain," Isaac laughed while giving props to his younger brother.
Quinton Jr. looked up to Isaac and Pierre like superheroes and took it all in when they said they were proud of him. Things like that, made his day, "Yeah, yeah. I'm leading the state in receptions and touchdowns but only second in yards. But our quarterback is really good, I wouldn't be nearly as good without him."
"Any college offers?" Pierre chimed in from the driver's deat.
"Lots. Auburn and Alabama offered scholarships already. Some others schools sent Unc letters saying they were looking at me. Florida, Miami, LSU, all those teams," Quinton Jr. smiled, trying not to brag.
"Wow, keep it up. But if none of those teams interest you, I'm sure Coach Miles wouldn't mind having a great reciever like you," Isaac tried to help Coach Miles out.
Quinton Jr. didn't want to be rude but it was visible that the idea didn't set well with, "I'll think about."
The remaining practice week was full of love. The team meshed well together, and that was much needed for their upcoming game against Alabama. Justin got his starting position back as he stepped his game up. Coach Miles even got redshirts to yell in microphones during plays to try and simulate the Alabama crowd. They prepared the best they could, trying to finally beat their bigger brother.

Even the blades of grass started to shake as Alabama Tech started to kick off. Alabama had spoken all week about how the Razorbacks would not catch them off guard this year, and they were right. AJ McCarron and his offense drove right down the field for a score. Derrick Hollis and his offense didn't look quite as good.
"Hollis has Wells open! Intercepted by Clinton Dix!"
A field goal was put up by Alabama as the crowd got louder and louder. Players and coaches were feeling the pressure. Derrick through another interception to the same exact guy. Alabama scored another passing touchdown right before the quarter ended. Hollis was then shockingly benched.
"Send Brittain in," Coach Miles directed.
Eugene took the snaps and passed well. Leading them to their first points, a 25 yard field goal. McCarron picked the defense apart though, scoring yet another touchdown with seconds remaining in half. The scoreboard at halftime in Tuscaloosa read: 24-3.
"Coach, let me go back in! I can get this done, I promise!" Derrick pleaded to Coach Miles at halftime.
Coach Miles grimmaced and agreed to let him work his comeback magic. But maybe, the Razorbacks had ran out their magic.
"Hollis drops back and hits Porter! He's hit and the balls pops up! Caught by Robert Lester! Lester runs down the field, he has blocks. EW! Lester runs completely over Hollis to get another Alabama score!"
Derrick walked onto the sidelines and fell straight on his ass. Tears rolled down his face as he was embarrassed nationally. Alabama's sidelines were going bizarck, just like the crowd. A 'Not This Year' chant filled the colliseum as Eugene went in. Eugene proved to be a man of pressure, he led his team for a touchdown. A thirty six yard rocket to Colin. Blair was the only tackler in this game by far. Making more tackles than the rest of the team combined. Alabama kicked yet another field goal.
"Brittain fakes the run to Garner, has time. Throws it for McNeil! McNeil brings it down but isn't finished! He is gone folks! 49 yard touchdown pass!"
This pissed off the crowd and Coach Saban. He decided to run the ball straight down Tech's throats. He scored twice in 3 minutes on 45 and 2 yard run. Eugene wanted to pull in another score, to save some dignity. With 10 seconds remaining and the score being 48-15, Coach Miles peeked at the bench.
Derrick sat on the bench with his head down. Tears rolled off his face, "Hollis get in there! Goal line QB Sneak on one!"
Indeed Derrick rammed it in to end the game but it failed at healing him. Alabama had came out and humiliated their baby brother. The only good performances for Tech were 14 tackles by Blair, 100 receiving yards by McNeil, and a great passing game for Eugene.
Alabama Crimson Tide: 48
Alabama Tech Razorbacks: 22
"The question is Steve, going into the harder part of their schedule, who will be quarterback for this Alabama Tech team? Will star freshman Derrick Hollis be benched after his truly awful game against Alabama?" Isaac watched the television after getting home from the game.
Pierre walked in the door and threw his bags down. A huge bruise was on his neck, most likely from one of Bama's great linebackers. Neither said anything to each other, both were in too bad of a mood to talk. But something very strange happened. As Pierre opened his bedroom door, he collapsed onto the floor. Isaac's head snapped to see what had happened.
"Pierre! PIERRE!" He screamed while hurdling the couch to get to his friend.
He rolled him over as Pierre started to black out.
"What's going on?!" Isaac screamed.
Blood started coming through Pierre's shirt. Isaac ripped it up to see a gash right below his rib cage. It looked rather old, yellow infections surrounded it. Blood poured out of it.
"How the hell did this happen!?" Isaac mumbled to his friend.
Pierre tightened his eyes to endour the pain, "I got st- uh -abbed at Rodge- uh -r's. Di- uh - dn't want to te-," Pierre's head fell onto the floor as his eyes fell closed.

Season Two - Chapter Nine: Roadkill
"Hello Pierre, we have everything under control and finished up the majority of our tests. The good news is that no serious damage was caused from the wound and that the infections are being ridden by antibiotics. But you did lose a large amount of blood, I'm aware you play football, I cannot release you to play for a week or so. Oh yes, we never got full details on how this happened?" A doctor of Huntsville General Hospital asked Pierre and Isaac.
It was around five in the morning, both were deadly tired from the game as well as the health scare. Pierre laid in a hospital bed in his polka dotted gown while Isaac stood beside him in a wrinkled wife beater and baggy jeans. The doctor stared at the two while the question was still in the air. They looked at one another and decided in their minds.
"Well you see, we were moving this bed and a part snapped at scraped his stomach and we ignored it, but it busted during the game," Isaac lied. Pierre nodded his head to help the story.
The doctor gave the two an odd look and replied, "Alright, well, their should be a nurse in here soon to give you breakfast, until then, you should try and get some rest."
Pierre and Isaac were now alone. An awkward feeling was in the room as Isaac faught back tears. Isaac wanted to punch a hole in Pierre's face for scaring him like that but also wanted to hug him because he was alive. Mixed emotions.
"I know, I should've said something. But this was a big game and I didn't want any distractions," Pierre sighed as Isaac looked away.
"You had me scared man," is all Isaac said as he did his and Pierre's handshake and sat in a chair to sleep.
It soon hit the team that Pierre would not be participating in the next game against UTEP. Morales were low and curiousity rose behind the story. Everyone from the drunk guy at the street corner to ESPN talked about Pierre's incident, no one knowing the truth. This caused exactly what Pierre didn't want, distraction. Coach Miles, Antwan, and Coach Williamson all did a great job in keeping the team under control. But still, Isaac wasn't thinking about football, he thought about his friend laying in a hospital bed.
The NCAA wasn't looking quite as normal. The top five teams were all unbeaten but were not usual front runners. Nebraska stood at number one with five wins. Utah was at number two, also with five victories. Arkansas moved up to number three with six wins. An underdog South Florida team took number four with four wins. Penn State moved up to five with six victories. Other teams were making their way up as well though. Michigan stood at number eight, winning five and losing zero. Number eleven and twelve, Oklahoma State and LSU, both had five game win streaks, no losses. Number twenty Baylor (4-0) and twenty two Nevada (7-0) were the rest of the undefeated in the Top Twenty Five.
Arkansas's quarterback Tyler Wilson (SR 99) was the Heisman Race front runner while leading an undefeated team. Runningback Mike Ball from Nevada (SR 95) was second in the race, also helping his team win all of their games so far. Virginia Tech quarterback Logan Thomas (JR 91) was placed third with a well mixture of passing and rushing yards. Runningback Anthony Wilkerson out of Stanford (JR 88) and quarterback of Utah, Jordan Wynn (SR 95) finished up at number four and five.
Blair Huff and Colin Calhoun were the only players competing nationally with their stats. Blair had pulled in 49 tackles, 17 tackles for a loss, and one sack. Also, 44 helmets knocked off. Colin had 955 kick return yards with 3 touchdowns. In the passing game, Derrick Hollis had already broken the school record for passing yards with 959, 6 touchdowns, but 9 interceptions. Jonny Garner pulled in 345 rushing yards and 6 touchdowns. Isaac only had 249 rushing yards and three touchdowns. Derrick also had 5 rushing touchdowns. Receiving wise, Willie Porter had 10 receptions, 203 yards, but zero touchdowns. Daniel Wells had 6 receptions, 145 yards, but no touchdowns. Colin Merely had 8 receptions but pulled in 321 yards and 5 touchdowns. On defense, other than Blair, Byron Childress had 30 tackles, Justin had 27, Taylor McNeil had 21, and Lorenzo Craig with 19. Miguel had 3 sacks while Marcus Waller (FR 62) had 1. Johnnie Terrell and Lorenzo Craig both had two interceptions, Craig also had two defensive scores.

"Guys, I wish I could be out there and I've tried but I just can't. People may say that this is an easy game. Don't take it that way, play every down like it's your last. Don't play for yourself, play for the guy next to you, or your parents up in the stands. This team is just in the middle of our road to greatness. Make them a deer in headlights. No crossing. Make these bitches roadkill. Razorbacks on three. One, two, three," Pierre screamed on the field before kick off.
"RAZORBACKS!!"
Alabama Tech recieved ball to start their home game. The crowd was ready to go and so were the players. After a good kick off return by Colin, the offense went into overdrive and scoring within three minutes on a touchdown run by Jonny Garner. UTEP knew that the secondary was a weak spot for Tech, scoring a four yard pass right before the quarter ended.
"Derrick Hollis brought down on third down and the punt team comes out."
UTEP had yet another impressive drive by scoring again halfway through the second.
"Wells jumps to catch it, no! Intercepted at the 29 yard line by Nicks."
Coach Miles called a much needed time out to get his players focus back. The defense had been out continously for almost three possessions. Miguel bent over and let a good pile of vomit flow. Justin stretched out a cramping thigh and Byron Childress chugged a bottle of water. But Blair just stood there though, panting lightly. Blair was a man in great physical condition, built of pure muscle. He paid no attention to his still broken arm which was just wrapped and covered by forearm and elbow pads instead of a cast. Coach Miles and Williamson saw their weak team and looked to the leader. Coach Miles remembered the first time he met Blair and hated him at that moment. The two had grown into good friends and had a telepathic vibe they could read. Coach Miles looked dead into Blair's eyes and Blair shook his head.
The defense went back out on second and four, "Wenrick hands it off, no it's play action. Blair Huff comes in on the blitz, misses! Wenrick runs away from Huff! Stripped by Waller! Huff grabs the ball and runs! He can go! Touchdown Razorbacks! Touchdown!"
Despite the crowd and momentum, UTEP scored with 34 seconds remaining in half. Derrick Hollis tried to lead quickly for a score and was intercepted once again. Leading to a field goal to end the half. 24-14 UTEP.
Derrick Hollis sat with his head down, sweat dripped from his face and onto the locker room floor. He was going through a rough time, his past few weeks had been extremely shaky. Here he was now, with under 50 yards passing and two picks. Reality was hitting him and no one was there to help. But that changed, Eugene Brittain looked over and read his body language, having experienced it before. He approached Derrick and put his arm around him. Sure, Eugene was still jealous but winning was a team effort.
"I know what it feels like. To have to come in and lead your team. You think every mistake is gonna be your downfall. But guess what? It's not. You're a freshamn with a hell of a lot of talent. Now, I want you to go out there and prove YOURSELF wrong. Okay?" Eugene spoke lightly.
Derrick nodded and patted Eugene on the back.
Tech's defense held and got the ball back in the freshman quarterback's hands. He drove down the field and made a spectacular throw to Daniel Wells for the touchdown. UTEP would kick a field goal on their following possession and then do to a Garner fumble, kicked another one. The score going into the final quarter was 30-21.
"Hollis hits Wells for a good eight yards!" "Hollis hits Garner on a flare for a first down!" "Another great pass to Porter!" Derrick looked great on the drive but was held short on the opposing 38 yard line. A field goal was not going to happen so the Razorbacks went for it on fourth and two.
"Hollis hands it to Goddard, breaks a tackle. Hit and dragged down. Let's see the spot......turnover on downs! UTEP ball."
Isaac threw his helmet down as Pierre looked on. The man who made the initial stop would have been a guy in which Pierre would've blocked and easily pancaked. Luckily, the defense held them to a three and out. Derrick Hollis had to convert three fourth downs to continue the drive. It ended with a seven yard touchdown run by freshman fullback Dominic Carrico. Fifty nine seconds were left as the Tech offense took the field, their last chance to win. All timeouts had been used, all energy had been taken, but evey ounce of heart remained.
Jonny Garner got out of bounds after a thirteen yard catch as they approached the fifty yard line. Hollis was then sacked, losing a good fifteen seconds. He spiked the ball and followed with a three yard throw to Isaac. Fourth and eight. Twenty two seconds.
"Hollis goes back and throws it for Wells. Caught by Wells at the fifteen!" The clocked rolled down to eighteen seconds and Derrick was planning to spike it and set up a field goal.
As he sprinted down the field he looked over directly at Eugene. Time seemed to pause as he read Eugene's lips. He shook his head and went under center. The crowd went nuts, therefore the coaches did not hear him call an audible.
"He doesn't spike it! He goes back! Oh no, he's grabbed by a defender! Knocked off by the left guard, Hollis goes free and has a wide open Brandon Lane in the endzone. Rocket pass...touchdown Razorbacks!!" Derrick didn't go crazy though, he just looked over at Eugene and put his thumbs up.
Alabama Tech Razorbacks: 35
Texas El Paso Miners: 30
Derrick ended his game with 148 yards with two touchdowns and interceptions. Jonny had 72 yards and one score. Isaac had 57 with no touchdowns. Daniel caught four passes for 88 yards and one touchdown. Willie Porter pulled in three catches for 34 yards, no touchdown. Colin had no catches. Blair had 10 tackles and a touchdown. Justin and Byron both had six tackels. Miguel and Marcus Waller each had two sacks.
"Okay, so you need cash, I need cash. This could work, right?" Colin said as himself, Derrick, Isaac, and Pierre sat in Isaac and Pierre's dorm.
"Yeah, I need to pay off my boss," Isaac spoke.
"We need to get this guy to keep his damn mouth shut," Derrick confessed.
"I'll do it for a little bit but just to keep Isaac safe," Pierre sighed, not wanting to follow through.
"So we all agree that this will work?"
"Yeah, I looked through everything. No one is in that hall or building at this time. There's over 500 laptops, top notch too, easy money. We just take them, sell them to a pawn out of town, and we got ourselves a crap load of money."
Everyone shook their heads as they pulled their black ski masks over their faces and exited the dorm.

Season Two - Chapter Ten: Huff Ain't Enough
Derrick fumbled around with a masterlock while his counterparts kept guard in the darkened school building. Sweat covered his fingers, his breathing was heavy. This was the first time any of them had done something this illegal. It was the middle of the night, no one should have been in the building. But, there was an exception.
Colin looked nervously down the hallway on the right, it led to the front door. A thick moonlight peered in onto the white walls. But it was altered by an intruding menace. A shadow of a man.
Colin cursed like a dirty sailor while running out of view and warning his fellow thieves. The door on the other end of the hallway was locked as well. They were stuck in the front office with no way out. Derrick stopped a second to gain his composure. In the distance, keys jingled while attempting to open the door. Derrick took a deep breath as Isaac, Pierre, and Colin looked on. They all heard the nerve racking sound of the old wooden door swinging open. Footsteps echoed in the hallway.
"C'mon Derrick. C'mon Derrick," he whispered to himself.
He slid the needle into the lock, twisted it slowly, until a pop. His heart flew into the air as he twist the knob and busted through quietly. They followed him in and shut the door quietly. Colin locked it right as the man inserted his key.
"Hide!" Isaac whispered.
Pierre jumped behind an office chair. Colin hid under the desk and pulled the chair in to complete his disguise. Derrick dove behind the office couch while Isaac froze in a panic. The door preceded in opening as lights were clicked on. Isaac slid quickly behind the wooden door. A tall slender man who looked as if he was seventy or so walked in and looked on the desk. Colin closed his eyes tightly, breathing as quietly as he could. The man fumbled with some papers until he found the one he had been searching for. He studied it and continued on leaving. But unexpectedly he stumbled over the couch leg and hit the door hard.
"Hm, I don't remember that being like that," the old man grumbled to himself and exited the building.
After the coast was well clear, the group couldn't help but laugh. Isaac had recieved a bloody nose in the door incident and the nerves were eased.
"Let's hurry this up and get out," Pierre commanded.
They entered into the lab and collected dozens of high price laptops in bags and exited out the back. Mission successful but too close of a call.
"Hey Hollis, how is a snowstorm and a man alike?" Blair spoke while lining up in his stance on a Wednesday practice. Telling jokes before a play start was something Blair did on a regular basis.
Hollis looked up and shook his head and continued his cadance.
"You don't know when it's coming, how many inches, or when it will be over!" Blair screamed as the ball was snapped and handed to Garner who broke loose and ran it in for a touchdown.
"That's why I'm a blizzard," Jonny laughed while tossing the ball to Blair.
"Run at me and I bet you won't score, you pussy," Blair replied.
"Can yall divas shut the hell up for one play? I gotta team to coach here. Okay so Hollis, go out. We need our defense to be prepared for Houston's quarterback Piland, he is twice as good as Keenum was and we may not get the advantage of injuring him, don't we?" Coach Miles looked at Blair with a grin, "So don't play cheap. We played Piland last year and did well in winning that game. We stuck to our assignment and covered our men. Piland is better this year though, much more accurate. And to represent his accuracy we brought in someone special."
Coach Miles turned and pointed to a tall and scrawny player running onto the field. MJ Colbert. Everyone ran over and gave him a hug. MJ was successful in becoming a medical doctor, still at Alabama Tech but racing through his studies. He was asked to come back and play a little with the team. He happily agreed. He was great in his simulations and helped the team a lot. It was an emotional visit as he wished to be back in that indigo jersey. He wished them luck while leaving and they knew that Houston was going to be tough. But the Razorbacks were never scared and hopped on the bus to Houston, ready to destroy some Cougars.

"Huff ain't enough! Huff ain't enough!" roared the Cougar crowd as the Razorbacks sprinted onto the field.
Houston wanted revenge greatly on the game from last year. Huff had potentially ruined the season for them when he injured Keenum on a supposed late hit. Tensions were high and middle fingers were higher. It was make or break, shut your mouth or go home. It was game time.
Alabama Tech recieved ball first and had great field position set up by Colin, who had gone down on an injury. News broke later from Blair that he had a fractured vagina. Houston's defense raged and shut them down. A field goal was kicked on the following drive by Houston. It was tough but Craig and Dominique did a pretty good job of stopping Piland. The first quarter flew by, the score being 3-0.
Derrick led his team wisely down the field to score a field goal to tie it up. Two minutes remained in the half and Piland stood motionless on the sidelines. Had he been stopped by Alabama Tech again? The worst team in the NCAA? Not today!
He went out and hit his runningback Wilson on a screen, who broke three key tackles on a sixty five yard touchdown. Derrick went out and threw a horrible interception. Wilson ran in again with a one yard run to mark them up by 14. Derrick was giving them everything. Another interception. A field goal from Houston ended the half 20-3. Alabama Tech had given the lead up in two minutes.
"Piland takes the shotgun snap and hands to Wilson. No, it's play action. Has Sweeney in the endzone....Touchdown Cougars!"
"Huff ain't enough! Huff ain't enough!"
"Chambers catches the screen and gets vertical! Runs for the pile-on! Touchdown Houston!"
"Huff ain't enough! Huff ain't enough!"
"Chambers catches another one, cuts right, chased by Moore, breaks the tackle and goes in the endzone! What a third quarter from Piland!"
"Huff ain't enough! Huff ain't enough!"
"Piland hits Hartson on a quick screen for a fifteen yard score!"
"Huff ain't enough! Huff ain't enough!"
Due to the enormous momentum, Tech scored a touchdown from Eugene Brittain to Daniel Wells on a 43 yard pass to end the quarter. The score going into the fourth: 48-10 Houston.
Piland hit another passing touchdown before he was pulled. Even though the game was clearly out of reach, Eugene turned into a monster. Having a ten yard touchdown run along with many other large gains. He passed another touchdown to McNeil. Houston scored a 53 rushing touchdown while trying to run out the clock. Back up running back Devin Rogers caught a 21 yard pass from Derrick Hollis for a touchdown to end the game.
Houston Cougars: 62
Alabama Tech Razorbacks: 29
Derrick ended his night with 95 yards passing, one touchdown, and two interceptions. Eugene did much better with 210 yards passing, two passing touchdowns, two picks, 113 rushing yards, and a rushing touchdown. Jonny only had 32 yards. Isaac was held to 18 yards but caught for 103 yards. Daniel had 53 yards recieving and one score. No one else had high recieving stats. Blair wrapped up 13 tackles, Taylor McNeil 8, and Justin with 6. Marcus Waller was the only to gain a sack. Piland had the most impressive game of all. 427 yards and 6 touchdowns in his dominating performance.
"Dammit!" Coach Miles screamed while knocking a pencil holder off his desk.
They had just gotten home from Houston. Coach Williamson and Antwan looked on.
"We can never stay focused! Never! There's always something more important!"
A knock sounded at the office door as Antwan fetched to get it. He opened it up as Coach Miles was being calmed down by Coach Williamson. Once again, the coach's beautiful daughter stood at the door. Antwan froze as her beauty captured him.
"Hi, Coach McFarland. Right?"
"Uh, yeah. You can call me Antwan," he nervously replied.
"Oh, I'm Hannah. My dad is Coach Miles."
"I know," Antwan said, sounding a slight creepy.
She leaned to the right to see her dad's outburst.
"My mom said I should drive him home, he may not be in the best shape," Hannah told.
"Well, he may need a few minutes to cool off," Antwan answered, but he couldn't stop staring into her stunning eyes.
"Um, why are you staring?" She laughed but felt extremely awkward.
"Oh, um, sorry. You're just really pretty," he studdered quietly while looking down.
"Thanks, I get it from my mom," she smiled.
The two continued the conversation for several minutes. But right before she left the building, she threw something on the floor, at Antwan's feet. He bent over and picked a small piece of paper up. On it read "244-562-7713 =)".
