Nope. Havn't ever checked it out, but I understand it simplifies things and makes for a faster, less detail-oriented game.

My stash so far:

Orcs Must Die: Franchise Pack ($8.72)
FM13 (was going to buy FM14 in the fall as part of my every other year thing, but $10 is hard to pass up)
Deus Ex Collection ($5.99)
Kerbal Space Program ($13.49)
Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 Platinum ($4.99)

Lots of gaming goodness for around $43.

Does Dragon Age: Origins PC version have a bunch of mods that the console version doesn't?

There were just a couple mods I used when I played, most important being a party chest at the campsite. It is a game that controls much better with a mouse and keyboard than gamepad if you're debating which system to get it on.

Easy buy. I have the disks but just went ahead and bought it off Steam to make it easy. It's a great game.

AI isn't boneheaded?

I mean I guess it's not...this is the same Gal Civ II that everyone is like "I WISH THEY WOULD MAKE A 4x GAME BETTER THAN GAL CIV II" right?

Oh I already have it on the console. I just try to buy those games for the PC as well when they get cheap enough if there's enough mods worth checking out.

Yes! Join the Nexus Community. There's something like twice the game with mods. It's not quite as broad as the Skyrim Nexus community. But there's a lot there.

New equipment
New Classes
New Quests
New Spells
Varying levels of difficulty
Nekkid People (you can skip that last one)

sigh, I told myself I wouldn't upgrade to '13 this year, yet here I am, with the game bought and installing right this minute... I "only" played '12 for 16 hours, still if I get 16 hours of play time for the 10 bucks I just paid for '13, it'll still be the best 10 bucks I've spent in a while

Caved on both DA:O ($9 for awesome mod access seems worth it to me) and FM 13. $10 is worth it when I've skipped 11 and 12 IMO.

So is the bits of complaining I read about GC II's AI just perfectionists bitching, or is it actually not as good as people make it out to be?

It has like a 92 metacritic rating.. I've only just started though to really test the AI yet.

To be fair if you click through to the metacritic reviews you see that that 92 is just for one of the expansions in the pack - not sure what the whole game is rated - just a quibble.

Well it went up $1.80

I'll get some more time with it tonight.. I'm about 2-3 hours in and it feels like Civ V set in space.

for once, a game I voted on won and I wanted to get it, just bought Walking Dead...

And I got a call from my credit card company who were about to lock my CC because they were afraid my Paypal account had been hacked. They felt that the many little transactions were not normal

I hope you informed them that it's the Summer Sale and if they continue to behave this way, you will NOT be trading any of your steam trading cards with them!

Does anyone else avoid playing the games you want to play because you already have all the free drops from that game? I might have a problem...

Took the plunge on Fallen Enchantress: Legendary Heroes for $13 as it looks like something I would like. Also got Company of Heroes for 50% off. The question is they just put the original Fallen Enchantress on sale for 75% off ($7.49) - is it worth getting for that price or just stick with the expansion? I checked and I don't think you need the original to play FE: Legendary Heroes.

I did see skyrim on the flash sale for the legendary edition.

I'm holding out hope that the standard will go for less than the $20 it is listed at now. I couldn't see pulling the trigger on the legendary edition for $31, when the standard goes for $29 every day.

I'll probably end up dropping the $20 on the final day of the sale, but I'm willing to hold out.

From what I understand, the original FE was a little buggy and FE:LH was a lot better. It got very good reviews and says you don't need the original to play.

Purchasing the THQ collection during the 2012 winter sale for $24.99 has turned out to be really really good value.

FE:LH is my most played game right now. I'm really enjoying the balance in the various tech trees (Civilization improvements, warfare improvements, and magic improvements.) The AI is decent and the random events are well implemented and add a lot of unpredictability to any game.

I agree. FE:LH is a really good game. It's what I thought Elemental: War of Magic was going to be. I guess third time is the charm.

Really hope the fact that CK2 is available for $10 every other week and Risen 2 received poor reviews leads Expedition: Conquistadors to win.

I should add I got FE:LH for free. Stardock gave it and FE for free to everyone who bought Elemental at pre-order as an apology for messing up that game. I thought it was a great PR move and makes it a near certainty I will get their next project.

Well, crap. No love for Expeditions: Conquistador at all. Of the three, it got the lowest percentage of vote. Risen 2, buggy or not got the win...

FM

edit: 23% for Expeditions, 30% for CK, 47% for Risen 2

edit: 23% for Expeditions, 30% for CK, 47% for Risen 2

Damn, that's pretty disappointing. Hopefully it will still show up on deal before the sale ends.

yeah, that's what I hope. Probably won't be today, since had it won, it would have been on a community choice sale and couldn't have been in two sales at once. Hopefully in one of the three days left after that...

XCOM back on sale for another who missed out last time. Torchlight 2 for $5.

Stay far, far away from Infestation: Survivor Stories though, It's the WarZ rebranded.

Sang Froid is a decent tower defense style game (though traps instead of towers) and has been called, "the most Canadian game ever made."

Deadly Premonition: Director's Cut is coming to PC and is up on Steam Greenlight, which it will probably be approved through very quickly.

I'm intrigued by Euro Truck Simulator 2. Anyone here bitten the bullet on it?
