J.R. Richard RIP
As a kid I loved those late 70s early 80s Astros even with being from Boston. JR was one of my boyhood sports icons. If not for that stroke in 1980 he was a guy that probably would have torn the league up in the 80s. RIP JR.

He was one of my childhood idols. He was extremely intimidating with only two pitches, an off the charts fastball and wicked slider. There are many hitters who given a choice would rather face his teammate Nolan Ryan, and that says a lot about his presence on the mound. RIP Mr. Richard.
