I would like the opportunity to run the ball against the Bears defense.

I knew the Dolphins had lost the game the moment they picked up the flag against Keuchly.

Sure. Your knowledge consists of what Madden talked about 30 years ago on TV. Time to evolve.

Bummer, if Carolina had lost and my beloved Cards win today, I think they would have the wild card spot from Carolina. Which is just bizarre given how the Cards have played at times this season.

If by evolve you mean playing stupid football, then I'll take the 30 year old Madden approach.

They just came off a win over the 49ers and a Sunday night victory over the Pats. I'd say they're being properly talked about by now.

Stupid in hindsight? Or stupid according to percentages? Two different things.

The percentages say coaches should "go for it" far more than they do.

Matty Flynn has single handedly brought the Packers back from the brink of elimination. He has done all he can. It's up to Capers and the D now. Just stop Ponder and it's a 3 way tie for the division.

Bizarre game between the Bucs and Lions. Lions played "better" but couldn't stop turning the ball over, basically giving the Bucs the win. QB Rook Glennon did some good things...is amazingly un-athletic, but is very accurate and seems to have good read skills.

Oh...and Rian Lindell had a disasterous game which may have him leaving pro football on a very sour note. Sorry buddy, but those are the breaks of being an NFL kicker.

#33 for the Packers is a moron. Turned and ran with a receiver even though it was obvious Petersen had the ball.

That loss is on Andy Reid. He's done a lot for this team, but his clock management on that KC touchdown drive was poor. It allowed SD about 30 extra seconds and that's exactly what they needed.

In the end, it doesn't change much. If KC wins next week, they control their own destiny for the #1 seed.

So the Jets, Miami, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, San Diego, and the winner of Oakland/Tennessee will be tied for the last playoff spot in the AFC at 5-6...

Is this the first OT game in which both teams kicked a field goal on their first possession in overtime since the new rule started?

Football isn't a spreadsheet or a video game. You can look at raw numbers but they don't tell you anything about what is happening "right now" in a game. At that point in the 3rd Q, down by ten -- in THIS game -- you take the three points. But everyone thinks that Trestman is a genius, except me.

Damnit Chiefs. As much as I'd love to continue the Brady vs. Manning debate in the AFC CG, even the most irrational Pats fan doesn't want to have to go play in Denver.

Also in the AFC playoff picture, it's still unlikely, but more likely now with Jets and Dolphins losses today that the AFC's 2nd wild card will be 8-8 at best, and possibly even the first 7-9 wild card.

I think someone will get hot and finish 8-8.

Spreadsheets dont nor does a persons eye or feel. Percentages and spreadsheets generally have a larger data set so in the long run are likely more reliable. If they would have gotten it and scored a td i doubt you'd be calling it a bad move. They took a risk and failed which leaves him open to being second guessed. In the long run that guy will win games for you making the smart decisions.

Unless the Packer starting making some big chunks of yardage, looks like 2013's first tie is coming up soon.

I'd rather see Forte getting the ball in those situations and Ford giving him a breather when he needs it.

Never understood why coaches think their 2nd or 3rd best RB should be the one getting carries in crucial situations.

Yes, has an elbow injury that's killed his arm strength. It's why he couldn't stick in Oakland or Buffalo and no one else was interested in signing him.

We will just have to agree to disagree. Trestman's success on 4th down isn't that good, and statistics/percentages can always be misinterpreted. See this for an example: Marc Trestman a Victim of Poor Logic, Fails to Call Timeout

I understand your point of second guessing, but if you heard a guy yelling "KICK THE FIELD GOAL", that was me.

Even with no arm strength Flynn is still better than Tolzien. I don't know why Tolzien started this game. Detroit and Chicago don't seem to want the division either. Detroit had this in the bag and blew it. Now it sets up for a big Thanksgiving game. Winner gets the tiebreaker and if GB wins they might get Rodgers back for the last 4 games to clinch it.

This.
And your post makes me think of a NFL player question: who is the worst safety in the NFL? A: The guy backing up Chris Conte. How bad does he have to be not to start over Conte?

To be fair to them, putting the ball in Ponder's hands may have been their best chance of getting a score there.

Really hoping this will finally be the last time we see Ponder play for the Vikings but I'm pretty sure he'll be taking the field to a chorus of boos next week.

So I started Keenum over Matt Ryan, and Ben Tate over Reggie Bush. Also, TY Hilton got hurt. This nonsense seems to happen every week...especially lately.

I'm the worst fantasy coach ever. Funny thing is, I'll probably still win this week.

Great run by Jacobs but he HAS to just put his head down and run over the defender. He is a 240 pound back against a 180 pound DB and he tries to juke him instead of carry him into the endzone. And of course the drive stalls from the 5 and we settle for a field goal.
