FOOLX Poll

Play with the new CBA rules? Which include these new rules.

1. Type A/B free agents are eliminated
2. A team that signs a compensation eligible player forfeits its 1st round draft selection, unless it selects in the top 10, in which case it forfeits its second highest selection.
3. The players former team receives a pick in the supplemental draft round.
4. The Top 22% of players with 2 years of service time will be eligible for salary arbitration (super 2). This is up from the 17% it was.

This in turn would make the draft so much better. The 2nd round will now be viable.

Did Markus ever fix the rules? From what I read when first released there was a lot of concern that the draft rules weren't done correctly. Then, neither was Type A/B either given the number of Type A's we always had in the league.

Yes it's been attended to.

Well, to be honest, given how I feel that Type A/B is broken in 12, I think I would have to vote yes just to get rid of it. At the least we can give it a try, is my opinion. I can only assume you've done testing with it in our league already.

Yes I have and all works as it should. I agree with your opinion as well.

I've never been a fan of draft pick compensation, but only thing I dislike more than that is A/B.

This.

I think DPC is necessary in the FOOL/FOOLX though. I say go to the new rules.

Yeah I don't think there's no way around it in these leagues. It was just a chance to blab.

Just to correct one thing from what I said earlier.....

If you pick in the upper 3rd of the order then your 1st round pick is protected. The spot I copied from from was talking about MLB. It said top 10 picks because it was going off a 30 team league.

I voted for the new rules, but I'd really like to see a poll to get rid of compensation altogether. Since all teams in FOOL are created financially equal, compensation doesn't make sense to me.

Also, because you can still sign FA on the sim the draft is due makes it really hard to have any incentive to construct a list when you don't know how many, in what position, or even if you have any top picks.

As far as the new rule, top 1/3 means only top 5 in a 16-team leaugue, right?
