The Open
This years 3rd major is now under way at St Andrews. Nicklaus starts with a bird on the very first hole.

Tiger starts the day with 6 birdies on the 11 first holes (he is -6 on the last 8 holes)

And just like that, Tiger runs away. Up four shots on the field through 10 on Friday with the closest competitor still on the course Thomas Levet four back on 12. He could be six or seven shots clear of the field entering the weekend.
Tiger bashers may now commence their "Tiger sucks because he doesn't dominate like he used to" rants now. |

John Daly lurking at the 11th position.
Still a long way away, but I'd love to see a John Daly / Tiger Woods final pairing on Sunday. |

All right, who the heck is Tino Schuster, and how did he get in second place?

Looks like a white Michelle Wie. He's 155th in 2005 on the (edit) 'Challenge Tour', yet apparently has his own web site. www.tino-schuster.com (it doesn't work for me). Last edited by moriarty : 07-15-2005 at 01:36 PM. |

Me neither. Must be getting more hits than the customary 5 a day.

Well, I was hoping Jack could have made the cut and made Sunday his last British Open round, but the birdie on 18 was a great way to go out...

It looks like Schuster has fallen back to earth. However, it looks like it will be good ol' Colin Montgomerie in the final group with Tiger tomorrow. Oh how much fun it will be to watch him crumble again.

Poor Monty. He's like a tragic character.
