Looking for advice on starting a college football dynasty with promotion/relegation

I am looking for some advice on starting a college football dynasty. I have had the idea for a number of years of creating a promotion/relegation structure, which would basically be set up with 180 teams split over 15 conferences. In each "region" of the country, teams would be able to get promoted or relegated to higher and lower conferences based on conference championships/relegation games the year before. I would also want to have a playoff structure, though ideally only limited to the highest "Power 5" conferences. (The goal for teams in lower-level conferences would be to get promoted into the Power 5)

I have familiarity with Bowl Bound College Football and have even used Microsoft Access to try to develop mods for BBCF in the past. However, I am not opposed to modding a different program, and I know that DDS:College Football is also a thing now. I am looking for some advice on some questions that I have regarding my idea. Specifically.....

*How many teams can these college football sims handle before they start losing normal function? Asking because I have heard that BBCF starts to go wonky the more teams you add.

*Can these sims handle making a playoff structure where only SOME conferences are eligible for the playoffs?

*Do these sims have difficulties when you start manually changing what conference the team is in?

*Will any of these programs allow you to force teams into a "relegation game"? For example, I would prefer to do a post-season game during conference championship week between the SEC East's worst team and the SEC West's worst team, with the loser getting demoted to the Sunbelt the next season.

If anybody has any general recommendations on how I might go about making this idea into reality, I would greatly appreciate it!

While it might not do everything that you are wanting to do, Football Coach: College Dynasty has a lot of the elements of promotion/relegation built in. Check out their Discord as well.

That was my exact though too, just hadn't gotten around to replying. It can't handle that many teams afaik though
