Legalzoom for a will?

Wondering if anyone has ever used it. It is considerably cheaper than using an attorney and we don't have anything to complicated. We own a home, car, have some savings and 401K and that is about it. No complicated investments or anything. Mostly we want to make sure it is in writing who we want our sons guardian to be should we both pass away.

Anyone ever use it and have impressions?

Our local library lends out software, so we used some legal software from there for free a while back. Seems legal enough to me.

I used it a few years ago and it was money well-spent. The only downside has been getting spammed by them, but you can get off the lists easily enough.

Many parts of the will need to be witnessed and/or notarized, so just completing the will on-line won't seal the deal. Just FYI.

I used it for my will - quick and cheap, and they provided good service.

How much did it end up costing you? I have been looking into this as well, and a ball park figure would be extremely helpful.

They have a few different options on their website. The most basic is $69, then I guess whatever fees for notarization.

A friend just asked about this and of course, no one knew what to say.

I recall reading (I thought it was here, but perhaps not) that this wasn't the best choice, but perhaps someone wants to shed light on it having used it recently? I used them once and had no problems, but I wanted to see before I make the recommendation one way or another if there's something obvious I'm missing.

I think this is the biggest thing. You need to be diligent about the various witness and notary requirements, and the rules may vary by state.
