From what I recall during the last game, the phasers do not help the spawn with their attacks. So having an extra person to guard, and potentially arm with a phaser, seems to be a positive move for us even if we are not able to verify him right away. Your thoughts?

I'll go back to double-check the rules to make sure that the info on phasers has not changed from game to game ...

No. I wanted to make sure we would be close to ready for launch tomorrow, so I ordered you (hoops) to repair the plant. That took my AP.

OK, here is what I see on the whole "phasers" piece I mentioned a minute ago:

An attack starts with a 75% chance of success. For each additional person who joins in the attack there is an additional 35% chance of success. There is a maximum of three people in one attack. If two (or more) Spawn (or Spawn groups) both attack the same target the additional chance of success is increased, but at a lesser rate, unless instructions have been given that person A will attack followed by person B (see Multiple Attacks below). The chance of success may be further changed by a person’s status (e.g. Exhausted or Resistant)

Modifiers which increase the chance of the Attack succeeding
*More than one person attacking
*Target is exhausted or wounded
*Attack of a room and not a person

So with that in mind I think you can go ahead and promote the remaining private (if Blade is killed by vote, during the night, whatever) without fear of a phaser being turned against us. Sure, we could make a bad decision in terms of who to provide a phaser (if a spawn has it, we don't have it to defend with) but it won't be turned against us in an attack.

Sorry that issuing that order cost you the turn I had posted that I would get my order in during the early evening at latest (depending on work schedule and wanting to coordinate with other engineers), but I understand why you issued it.

I'm going to be frustrated if Qwik does not have a repair action submitted.

Working towards a consensus here, as I believe we need to vote for someone and Blade seems to be the front runner. The privates could be dangerous as under the radar players that could quickly find themselves in positions of power. Hoops calling for a quick promotion for Bek stands out to me.

I still think you may be infected, without knowing it, as you must admit today's events were suspicious. But bullet and Schmidty vouching for you is more than anyone else has right now, so it is good enough for me.

I didn't play in the previous version, but it seems to me that if 6-8 crewmembers are spawn, it wouldn't be too much of a stretch for bullet to be one of them and for him to potentially be deceptive. Factoring in that he has been cleared, albeit by you, with the fact that Schmidty seems to have some feeling that you are clean (to the best of your knowledge) is enough evidence for me to back off of the vote for you.

The last game had three spawn to start in a game with 22 people, if I'm remembering the numbers correctly. I highly doubt there are 6-8 to start, particularly with the Overlord role that is not a crew member.

Anyway, once we see the results of this, we need to figure out guarding. Cargo and Engine and Slaves would be my priorities. If water gets attacked (and assuming hoops succeeding in repairing a man cycle), then it goes up by 1-4 cycles. This means it could be at 2-5. Anything less than 5 and we have all our engineers repair and we're fine. Even if it gets to 5, we can still take off and finish repairing the next day. But if we lose crystal, if in the engine is damaged again, or if the slaves riot, I think we're screwed. Since we have no phasers and so many tired guards, I think it'll be imperative to double guard. I'll look through the roles and post suggestions later, I just wanted to get this ball rolling.

I would feel much better about trusting him on his opinion of you, if a third party had cleared him, rather than you.

I agree and that is why I said that, after today's events, I will probably be suspicious of him until he is either unequivocally cleared or until he is dead.

Still, the fact that you risk exposing your abilities at this point makes me feel a little better that he and bullet are telling the truth.

Repeating the pattern of the first crew, after one day of nobody being lynched, on day 2 it once again looks like nobody is going to be lynched. But despite the brutal attack of this morning, the crew gets together this evening and decides that somebody is going to be held responsible.

And that somebody is Blade. He protests that he is innocent, but it is no use for the mob. They want revenge. They want to make sure somebody suffers for their pain. With a vicious fury the crowd goes at Blade. His bloodied corpse is defiled as the crew searches for any indication that he was a Spawn, but there is no indication there. The crew recoils in guilt and frustration as they realize that he was a Survivor!

So I don't think qwik sent in a PM to repair the engine room. His last post was at 5:02, and he said he was going to repair it and was gone for the day. This was after BK reminded everyone they have to PM actions. Honest mistake or not, it's still dissappointing.

Nonetheless, we really need to figure out both who is sleeping and guarding. This may be a late evening.
