The 2024 NFL Amateur Draft!

At 1.1, Seattle takes QB Mitchell McGee

TE Meyer went 1.8. If he fell, I might have moved. Know who’s still on the board? Alcott

It’s 1.11. Should I make a play for Alcott? Alcott is 7.0 grade, 0.6 above any other raw players, and adjusted 7.6. Someone is takimg him before he gets to us.

Could I trade here for the 1.11 pick to ensure I get the only major player I want?

According to the draft pick value chart, the 1.24 is worth 740 and the 1.11 is 1250. So I would need to add 510 points. That’s the value of a high 2.nd round. Pick 39 over, 2.7 Is worth 510.

I can’t make this trade, so they grab a RB from the board . But at 1.12 is the first of defensive needy teams with Chicago. And I save 50 points by waiting until 1.12. Chicago needs LB, S, and Dt. I need 460 points to move up from 24 to 12. That’s pick 44 in the draft, 2.12.

The Bears won’t take a future 2nd for the trade.

You need a stud DT ot make 3-4 work right? I can’t not make this deal

I can’t get a future 6th or 7th and the 2nd as well

Players? They could seriously use a nice OG. Now I was hoping to extend OG Maurer as my starter, and then let either Bitonio or Scherff go, whichever falls in Camp. But I don’t have to. Chicago doesn’t want Maurer. Atlanta? San Diego? Sure! But not Chicago . They don’t want SS Kempthron either. Colts? Okay! Bears? Nah

I make an offer:

I give:

My 1/24
Next year’s 2nd rounder
The following year’s 3rd rounder

I get:
This year’s 1.12
Next year’s 4th
The following year’s 5th

I accept and I take Alcott and head to bed.

Who would have been there at 1.24?

LB Butch May? RT Dean Griffith? RB Frog Man Lotter? WR Erik Frederick?

The Bears take OT Griffith. I would have done the same. He’s BPA in my mind,

Frog Man goes 1.25

Frederick at pick 35

May 37

This great TE is falling. No one is grabbing him. Move up and make a play? Nah, I’m out of ammo for that. He goes to Oakland at 52, and we are at 56, so TE Hammers, almost made it to me!

At 2.23, take WR Colin Finch? LT Trenton henry? RB Jordan? LB Gerrity? I feel like Finch is the last good WR on the board. But Gerrity is good, and odd, while there are other OTs and Lbs out there. And yet, LT Henry is pretty solid. 1 red and three blues for Henry. He looks to be a pass locking specialist, which matches what you want from an LT generally, and someone guarding Arledge specifically. Both are good

But I have three Ots on my roster that can start. And yet, I have depth at LB and WR as well. So none of my three major targets are the top player that was needed.

So I go OT

Finch foes to GB two picks later

12 picks fall off the 3rd round. Is Garrity going to fall to me at 3?

Nape He goes 17th to the Bears. If you recall, they needed to up their D considerably.

3rd – With no obvious draftee that fell, who is my choice here? LG Harrison? Nope! TE Jon Franklin. Franklin is horrible at blocking, great at catching.

4th round? LG Salvador Harrison!

5.4 - LB Derek Newhart

5.23 – I’m taking a flyer on SS Zachary Jude. Horrible bars. Great combine stats for here, and affinity with my team

6th – LB Dexter tubs? Nah. A BAP on the board is DE Gibson. How is he still there?

7th - DT Tito Nelson

Amateur Draft Report:

Rnd 1 - Damien Alcott, DT, Louisville
Rnd 2 - Trenton Henry, T, Virginia
Rnd 3 - Jon Franklin, TE, Georgia Tech
Rnd 4 - Salvador Harrison, G, Tennessee Tech
Rnd 5 - Derek Newhart, OLB, Southern Mississippi
Rnd 5 - Zachary Jude, S, Penn State
Rnd 6 - Willie Gibson, DE, UCLA
Rnd 7 - Tito Nelson, DT, Washington State

I make some cuts:

QB pelfrey
OG Harrison – He busted hard, down to 15/33
RB Powell

NT Michael Dunn. It was time. He was with me for 9 years

I trade backup DT Morton to the eagles for their 2027 4th rounder

I trade OT Bryce Owens to the Giants to swap our 6th for their 3rd in 20206

I extend LT Neumeyer by a year. He’s 44/58 and was cheaper than Owens to extend

We go 2-2 in the preseason

Final changes:

After the preseason, my OG competitions are Bitonio at 59, Maurer at 60 and Scherff at 56.

I extend OG Bitonio for a year

I want to give OG Maurer a 4 year, 10 mill deal, but he’s angry and won’t do it. Ah well. What about OT? Smith ebbed to 51/51. I am going to start him, and then move to Trenton Henry next year

SS Zachery Jude has dropped to 21/31. I cut him

CB Harrison dropped to 48/48. We start Canada instead.

I give Sawyer Nelson 4 years, 45 mill

DE Horner busted to 43/43. It’s time….

I have 4 dsolid Des.

Norm Pucillo – 52/65
Willie Gibson – 32/63
Shaun Yaros – 27/60
Horner 43/43
Stanton 87/87

It’s a great irony that the UFA, Yaros, this year and the UFA last year, Pucillo, will rpealce a UFA finding that was awesome. I’d love to keep him. Especially since I think this may be Stanton’s last year with us, I can’t keep increase his salary with the Tag each year.

With 116.0 sacks, I can only hope that Horner, he can find a landing pad, and get some more sacks. He will land between Suggs and Mathis, career wise at 116.

I trade LB Dylan Nichols to the Eagles for thier 4th in 2026. He was 54/54

I think if I had built this dynasty as I intended, and built around a UFA QB only after building it up, Kelley might have been my man. Lukas Kelley is so much more consistent on the tats sheet.

We are 8-4 heading into the final stretch

Week 14 - This game is against major competition. The Giants. With their super stud Cote, and their 2 year back to back Super Bowl appearances. But they are having a down year and are 5-7. We beat them 30-22. MOM is Arledge – 29 of 43, 281, and 1:1. Wright was 107 and 1 score. Lorey was held to 60 yards and 1 score. SS Kempthron with a pick and a return for a score. OG Bitonio is injured and out. I start OG Scherff instead and will finish the year with Scherff. Bitonio should be healed by the playoffs.

Week 15 – We play the Ravens and smash them 34-16. MOPM is Arledge with 20 of 31, 233, and 3:1./ Jot this Riley, Schuster and Franklin for scores. Lorey added 21 for 144 and 1 score. Picks by Schmidtket, Nelson and Rincon.

We have a lot of new injuries.

Schmidtke – questionable
LT Smith – questionable
Joe Franklin probable

Going into week 17, we are 11-4. Houston, at 12-3, is currently #1, and we have the Jets and Raiders at 10-5. We need to defeat the Bengals

The 2024 NFL Super Bowl!!!

Your AFC Champion, #2 seed 12-4 Cleveland BROWNS

VSs.

Your NFC Champion, #1 seed 13-3 Carolina PANTHERS

The Panthers are favored by 1

Now we have made it here three times, and won every time. Can Arledge make it four rings in four tries, and by his 9th year being a rock here? Or will he lose, and still have a solid and respectable 3-1 record in the Bowls.

The Panthers are the most difficult juggernaut we’ve faced in the Super Bowl. We’ve never been unfavored. And I don’t have my best receiver.

Who are the Panthers missing?

A random 4th string WR, 37/37
A Solid starting DE, 56/56
A LB, 39/39

That’s it

So nothing major.

Ready?

We begin the drive on our 37 yard line. Diego Lorey breaks wide, and rushes for a score on the first play of the game. 7-0

The Panthers have 4 plays, and punt

We get a huge return from Bening, who is tackled on their 16, Sensing vulnerability, Arledge goes for goal and hits TE Franklin, the rookie catches a TE score, 16 yards, on the second offensive pass of the game. 14-0

The Panthers go three and out and punt. After 5 players and 46 yards, Arledge tosses a pick suix, and thy score. 14-7

They are stopped. We get the ball, drive 8 plays and deep, and then another pick. They drive that pick for 15 plays, and 85 yards. Ten they score a TD in the 2nd quarter

14-14

We get the ball, drive 11 plays, 75 yards, and then kick a FG.

17-14 us

He Panthers punt

We Punt

The Panthers drive, and can’t do anything.

HALFTIME – We are up 17-14

They start with the ball, drive 12 plays, and then kick a FG to tie at 17-17

Arledge drives, hits Wright for a 55 yard pass with -10:17 left in the 3rd. 24-17 us

A fast score followed, with a 61 yard pass and they respond.

24-24

We go 3 and out and punt deep. Emerson drives it to their 11 yard line.

On the second play on their drive, CB Gregory Canada picks off their QB Cam Newton, and we get the ball on their 8. Diero Lorey rushes for a 2 yard run a few minutes later as the time ends on the 3rd

31-24 us

We force them three and out and they punt. We get the ball with 12:46 left. We drive 4 plays, 28 yards, and punt.

They get it at their 34. They go three and -4 yards after the 3rd sack on the day by DT Allcott ends their drive. They punt

We get the ball with 5:31 left on our 19. We drive…8 plays, 61 yards. And we finish with a FG and make It 34-24 with under 2 minutes.

They get the ball at the 1:43 mark on their 25, and they turn it over on downs 12 yards and 7 plays later

We win 34-24

Super Bowl MVP – Lorey, 23 for 164, 2 scores. Arlsdge was 25 of 33, 261 and 2:2. He hit Bening an Wright for scores, and Lynch with 136 yards

Pick bu Canada. Our lone turnover of the day. We lose the TO battle -1

3 sacks by Alcott, sacks by Krauchick and Stanton and Pucillo and Rincon split a sack.

4 KRB by Maurer, 3 by Graham

Lots of people were involved. Great punting by Emerson to pin them deep and tat allowed the pick and momentum swinger by Canada. Alcott was all up in Newton’s grill. Returner Beinign had a great return to set up a score. Good stuff!

I think you might have just seen the rare quadfecta, but we’ll see…….

Season Awards!

Damn Green Bay!

We missed the big awards. And We may have been a little robbed too….

Super Bowl MV_ RB Diego Lorey

All Pro First Team – RB Diego Lorey, C Andrew Graham, OT Shon Coleman, DE Julio Stanton, LB Karl Rincon,

All Pro Second Team – QB BRANDEN ARLEDGE BABY, FB Ralph Schuster, WR Rodney Riley, K Brandon McManus,

So we had NINE All Pros this year. Dang!

And yet I am going to argue that we were robbed of both MVP and OPotY, which should have gone to Lorey. I’ll show you how in says in a moment…..

Arledge was 2nd in passing yards behind Dak Prescott, by 50 yards, and 5th in rating, and 4th in passing TDs. Frankly, I thought the All Pros would be Prescott and the GB guy. So I am very okay with this....

but not this....

As you can see, Lorey both hit the mythical level of 2000+ rushing yards, and led the rest of the pack by 700+ yards. He also led in rushing TDs. He also had 524 receiving yard and 4 catching scores, so he had mroe than 2500 yards from scrimmage and 19 TDs. That is not just good. That is, in my humble and clearly biased opinion, enough to be MVP and Off Player of the Year.

Graham just annihilated the rest of teh league with his KRB. The next highest was 43. You need good blocking to get a 2000+ year season. And we have another ALl Pro from Coleman and Graham just being the best O Line player in the league. Maurer looks fine in his first year starting for me as well.

K McManus, 40 of 46, 45 of 47 PAT.
P Emerson, 75 punts, 49.4 avg, 41.7 net. That was the best average and net in the league and once again, Emerson was denined another All Pro. That would have made us 10th. Ah well.
KR/PR Bening, 1 KR RET TD, among qualifiers, 7th best KR average in league, adn 4th best PR avg

Stanton;s 13.5 sacks were 1.5 behind the league leader, and 2nd most in the NFL. Rincon;s 9 sacks, 3rd best among all LBs. I know Pucillo was out for a couple of games, but I was hoping for more there. Especially if I can;t franchise Stanton again for like the 15000th season in a row. Alstott had more sacks in the post season than the regular season. I'll take it of course, especially 3 sacks in a Super Bowl, but I;d love to see from from the rookie next year.

Team Awards!

Offensive MVP - Hmmm….RB Diego Lorey maybe? I thought seriously about Graham here.

Defensive MVP – LB Rincon – I have to admit that I love how fast and powerful Rincon has dominated. In his first year years he has 20.5 sacks, 13 hurries, 7 QBKD, 4 picks, 1 INT RET TD, 4 FF. and one fumrec. He has been a disruptive force on the strong side.

Special Teams MVP – P Emerson deserves this one for the reasons cited above and leading the league in two pertinent stats.

Rookie of the Year- DT Alcott – He was never bothered, stepped right in, and had a good, solid season.

Heart Award – FB Schuster. We play him on special teams, where he had 24 special teams tackles, 8th best in the league. And then was good enough to rock his third All Pro award as well Dude has heart.

Alright, let;s drill down into that QB who won MVP and OPotY

QB Bobby Briggs, Green Bay Packers:

The +++ for Briggs:

Briggs led the Packers to 13-3
Briggs was 5th in the league in passing yards with 4022
Briggs had 27 TDs, and 5th in passing TDs

The best thing you can say about Briggs, and this is big - just four picks, 103.2 rating, which was 4th best among qualifiers.

Briggs adds 4 TDs on the ground, and 344 yards

He wasn't top three in pass yards, TDs, or QB rating. He wasn;t the best scrambler. 5 Qbs had more than 4 Qbs. 13 more rushing yards

Why would Briggs be an Off Player of the Year, when I don't think you can make a convincing case he was the best at his position. Meanwhile, Lorey dominated this league, the competition, and is a clear and obvious choice, both for MVP and OPotY

Arledge’s career stats after 9 years:

3283 completions, 35972 yards, 236 TDs, 106 picks, 67.2%, 95.8 rating,

As you know, 60k is sort of the Magic mark. Hit 60 and you are in Tom Brady (Right now), Dan Marino territory. And 50k is Warren Moon, Elway area. 10th best is Testeverde with 46k,. So Arledge could easily make the top ten of all time in passing yards.

Now, he’s not near the top in pass TDs. 236 would put you at around 25-30 all time. At 11 is Warren Moon with 291. So, get to 300 to be safe. 300 is Elway’s TD record.

How about completions? 10th best Is Testaverde at 3787. So Arledge almost has that in 9 years.

My FA:

Stanton
RB Nathan Angus
CB Amari Boone
RG maruer
LG Scherff

I wanted to retain both Mauirer and Stanton, but Maurer was angry in the offseason and I can’t sign players after the season begins, not even early on or once they see they are my starter moving forward.

Who to tag? Maurer and then resign? Or Stanton yet again.

I have 45 in cap space, 38 for new players. I have two rookies coming up that may cost a lto reoresign – WR Riley and LB Krauchick. I’m not sure I can do all three,. Stanton is up to 23.8 mill this year. F

I can’t not have Stanton. I franchise him.

FA TIME!

Which players of note are in the final year of their deals:

LB Krauchick
LB Horton
FL Riley
K McManus
DE Pucillo
OT Coleman
SS Kempthron
LB Dolflinger
OG Bitonio
C Graham
RB Snyder
WR Lynch
CB Joe Gon
QB Jelley
LT Neumet\yer
TE Ruddy
SE benig
Newsome

Newsome extended

I make offers to RFAs LB Tubbs and DE Yaros.

I currently have 47 players under contract

Im trying not to give major long term contracts to my older O Line. Take Bitonio -he’s in his 12th year. Currently 58/58. IF I had signed him to a big mega bucks deal, that’s likely to end on retirement of a drop in ability. He’s 33. How much longer does he really have as an O Line man? Coleman sis 33 too and is 10th year. Graham in his 9th is 30. I just had a O Line retire on me, so it happens right abbot now for these folks

I’ll wait until camp again, so see about ability, cap, and who I may have drafted

We are letting OG Scherff head off. I would like to sign Maurer. Maybe.

In the meantime, who do I want to extend?

K McManus wants 7 mill a year, a huge bump from his 5 mill deal. Nope

WR Lynch is 31 as well- I’m not giving him 20 mill for three more years.

Horton wants 14 mill for 4 years. But he;s the worst of my LB lot. Do I want to extend him?

I extend Bening by a year

Riley wants a ton of cash – like 77nill in5 years cash. TO be fair to Riley, he’s the 9th best WR in the league. Dustin Wright is 19th. There are only 21 at 60+ current rating. Only the Jets and Browns have 2 on their roster.

I would have to pay Pucillo serious 32 mill over 5 years type of money to keep him. That can’t happen until eh proves himself

I have 8 picks this year, and Green Bay loves my RB Moe Estell. They offer me a player and their 2nd rounder for him. Let’s ehck out the draft.

I need:

DE for Stanton
Backup RB,
3rd WR
OG? OT? Long-term replacements for Bitonio or Coleman.
LB
Starting CB

I interview 5 Cbs, There are two I really like. I also interview a bunch fo DE/D T folk as well as some WR

Are there a bunch of others out there that really want Estell?

Actually….maybe..

Do I want another high 1st round draft pick?

The Cards really want Estelle. They offer me their 2.11 this year for Estel. And tha;s good. But I talk them into their 1.11 with some additional picks from myself. Now this is not the normal trade up and trades some 2nds for it. It’s a free #1.

And I could even push it. You, trade back for more future picks, restore my future draft stock, and then draft in the 20s or something, followed by my pick at 32.

So that is very, very tempting.

Is there anyone up that high that’s worth the rush? Some years we have seriously awesome talen at the 11 spot,a nd others we done. I traded up to 1.12 for my DT Alcott last year, and up for RB Lorey, both were for top flight, rarely in the daft, let alone available players. Right?

Any generational players up there?

Studs:

2 RB, another 2ish
2ish QBs
Multiple Safeties
OT
2 ish CB
1 WLB

TE Willie Woods?

I could use the Ot and a CB.

Let’s hash out the trade:

I give the Cards:

RB Moe Estell
My 2nd rounder next year
My 2nd rounder two years from now

For

1.11
4th next year
4th the following year

So basically I drop down two rounds from 2 to 4in those two years to get a 1.11 now. If a tp notch player is there, I can snag him. If not, I trade back and rack up picks.

I end stage one of FA

I make an offer to OG Norman Maurer. 3 of the top 7 players in FA are from me, Maurer, Amary Boone and Scherff, and Kirksey si also out there down.

I extend RB Colin Snyder by a year

I make no other offers

Week 5 – Maurer signs with us for 8.82 mill, 3 yearas

I skip the stages and head directly for the NFL Draft.

The 2025 NFL Amateur Draft!

We are going to slow roll this

The first pick is RB Ellis Phillips of Auburn, to the Eagles

The players I was looking at, OT Bart McKnight, the two CBs, and more are all off the board. Three corners, 2 RBS, 2 QBs, DT, and S. McKnight went the pick before mine, Stupid Bucs!

I like DE Cornelius Watkins, SS Larry Shaw, FS Rico Akers, Burtner are all solid S. . If I wanted I could take CB Damon Comstock really, really earlier than I thought – 4th best Cb on the board. CB Ian Ridely? OT Malik Stimpson, who has low endurance but everything else? DT Kenny Shaw looks sick, but I don’t need another DT>

Hmmmmm…

When it doubt, trade back.

There is a heavy D Back draft, but too many went in the first 10. And yet folks I like aren’t here either

The 1.11 is worth 1250.

The 1.20 is 850. So I could get 400 points by dropping back 10 spots That;s enough for a high 2nd. For example, I could likely trade from 11.1 to 1.18 or 1.19 for someone’s future 2nd. Which would mean I only have traded one future 2 and my RB for this pick, and gotten 2 4s and this player

Seems like a good, deal, right?

I make an offer for 17th, future 2nd. That’s a drop of 300 points, but no dice. 300 is the 60th pick, back of the 2nd. I could just toss out a a 4th I trade dfor to make it work.

I trade:

My 1.11, 4.1 this year for

Steelers at 1.17, and their 2nd in 2027, two years from now

The Steelers grab S Rico Akers.

Then Stimpson, CB Comstock, DT Shaw, RB Farley and….RB Hernandez head off the clock…

And I still have these two great Safeties there.

Shaw: 4.42 dash, red agility blue strength, red pos spec 57,, hard to read, potential affinity. 13 volatility. 16% developed though

OR

Burtner – 2 reds, 1 blue. 37% dev, 71 volatility.

Now I could trade back again. I’m at 1.17. I could trade from here at 950 to about 1.30 or so and probably get another future 2nd. But shaw is good. He seems really, really strong. And bonus – jhe;s with an affinity!

I take Shaw

S Burtner goes 1.20 to the Saints

I;m watching four players very closely at 1.32, WR Chuck Jennings look pretty good. He;s falling, and would be a great pick up. There is LB McWilliams, arguably th best LB in the draft still on the board, and the 2nd is right behind and up there. And DE Parmely, a potential future DE star.

WR Chuck Jennings 1.30 to Pack1.29 WLB McWilliams

That leaves me at

1.32 MLB Dean Steinberg? DE Everett Parmely

As a reminder, I don’t have a 2nd this year. I have 1 4th lefts, 2 5ths.

This is not a draft where I need depth. So I was okay trading my extra 4th.

Hm….

Where am I looking? Who appeals to me?

Parmely. He might be my replacement for Stanton. He;s hard to read, 22% developed, the top DE on the board, This guy is a pass rush specialist. 3 blues one red.

I go Parmely . In previous years, I would have snagged LB Steinberg.

There are a few players I’m watching in two. TE Colton Seifert? OT Tubbs? OT Lane?

They all make it out. Of the 2nd round

Seifert goes 3.2. The last good TE in the draft. Tubbs goes 3 20. Is Lane falling?

So it’s my pick at 3.32. Two player I like. OT Lane – nocombine, looks to have good bars

The other is a WR that fell, Earl Boothroyd. Now Boothroyd might be a bust – combines don’t back up bars, high volatility. But there’s no combine for Lane at all to compare to. And Boothroyd has better bars than Lane…..

I’m not getting a good WR later. Might get a good OT later.

So I grab Boothroyd.

Lane feels good though. Could I trade my 4th up to take it? I’d probably have to package a future 6th? What I do instead if offer a future fourth from 2027 when I have 3 other 4ths and my 6th from 2027 as well. I grab Lane at the 107

The end of the 4th arrives. I take LB Randall Yockey, a 3-4 ILB

I have 2 picks in the 5th – 5.26 and 5.32,

No center has been taken yet. There are some good ones. Bu tI have three.

I offer C Schnebele for a trade o the Bills, Bears, Saints or Skins for their…..

I send Chicago’s 5th rounder and C Schnebele to the Bears for their 3rd in 3026.

I then take the top C in the draft, Marcos Henson. It’s not often you get a 6.0 rated player this deep into the draft not called a P or K. I then take a CB for depth

6th? I have a potential TE I want to take. Pat Reid, 2 rends, ad two blues. This deep. Maybe he I sa grower?

7th – RB Raul Lindsay depth and nice bars

Amateur Draft Report:

Rnd 1 - Everett Parmely, DE, Southern California
Rnd 1 - Larry Shaw, S, Brigham Young
Rnd 3 - Earl Boothroyd, WR, Kansas
Rnd 4 - Mercury Lane, T, North Carolina State
Rnd 4 - Randall Yockey, ILB, Portland State
Rnd 5 - Marcos Henson, C, Northwestern
Rnd 5 - Clayton Nixon, CB, Louisville
Rnd 6 - Pat Reid, TE, Prairie View A&M
Rnd 7 - Raul Lindsay, RB, Houston

CAMP TIME!!!!!

The Ravens need a QB badly and they offer me a 3rd for Lukas Kelley. I accept. I sign UFA QB Malcolm McIntyre who boomed.

I cut CB Antoine Harrison and S Lincoln Baxter. That frees up about 10 mill. I extend both Coleman and Bitonio by a year each.

I cut TE Timlin, RB Kerr,

I trade 51/61 backup LB Dolfinger to the Texans for their 4th and 5th in 20208

We go 4-0 in preseason.

Seattle and both NY teams want DE Pucillo. He wants to o much to stay, and I now have a replacement for him. But I can start him this year, and then start Parmely next. But I really do want to get Parmely up and running as soon as possible. For a young, low 60s DE, I should be able to get at least a 2nd rounder. Come on now! I would extend and keep him on my roster as a quality backup, but he;s too pricey, and he’ll get pissed quickly I‘m sure.

Do I want to trade him and a couple fo 4ths for a future Seahawks 2nd, or just straight up for 3? I trade him to the ‘hawks for their 3rd and 5th in 2028.

I cut RG3 and TE Eugene Nail, whom I signed a few years ago. He;s no longer my receivers leader, WR Wright is. And he’s faded to 37/37, and my 3rd best TE

C Zane Dunkin dropped in preseason. I cut him

I am not going to extend C Graham. I have C Marcos Henson at 41/70 post camp and preseason. Henson has grown from 61 pot to 70. I want to encourage that.

My two UFA Qbs dropped to potential 30s, and Arledge dropped to 32/32

Unfortunately SS KEmpthron boomed a bit in camp. Last year I started him as SS and he was 1 pick, 7 apsdef. But Shaw looks really good. And I don’t have the cash to pay Kempthorn. Next year I have to pay to keep Rincon and perhaps CB Canada. So I am using Kempthorn as a Nickelback. He’s also my starting CB against the run, because of how bad Schmidktke sis vs the run. Goalline packages and such.

Kempthorn is too valuable to trade, and too expensive to sign.

I extend K McManus by a year

I extend Vince Horton for 13 mill, 4 years

I sign Krauchick too 60 mill, 4 years

Alright, I suspect Stanton’s cap hit leaving will be where I sign Rincon moving forward

Lynch is still holding out

After dropping in camp, I cut LT Bart Neumeyer

Week 1 – We win 17-10 vs the Bengals. In his first game with us, Shaw has a pick and a return for a score. Meanwhile DE Parmely has 1.5 sacks, Stanton the same, and each of Alcott and LB Krauchikck 2 sacks as well. Lorey was 18 of 71, and Arledge 17 of 29 for 1:1 and hit Wright for a score. Alcott was our MOM. 4 KRB for Maurer

Week 2 – We defeat the Vikes 26-21. MOM is Arledge with 24 of 27, 251 and 1:0. Riley had 129 yards and s core. Another pick and turned for a score by Shaw. 2.5 sacks by Parmely, 1.5 by Alcott. Just 45 yards for Lorey though.

Two major injuries:

OT Trenton Henry is out for 3 weeks = Henson starts
LB Vince Horton is out for 7 weeks – Gibbons and Tubbs both get some reps

Week 3 – Arledge goes down in the first quarter, and rookie Sebastian Nekolny comes in and inishes 15 of 19, 242 and 1:0. Nekolny is MOM. Lorey has 180 yards on the groudnd, and Riley rushes for as core and WR rookie earl Boothroyd with another catch Pick by LB Sawyer Nelson. We win 17-13.

Arledge is doubtful for a couple of weeks. I bench him for Nekolny

Week 4 – Can we beat the 3-0 Bills? We can – 19-9. 3 sacks by Stanton, 1 each by Alcott and Rincon. Nekolny is MVP with 25 of 35, 280 and 2:0. Wright has 125 yards and s core, Boothroyd another score. Lorey was 21 for 135. 4 KRB by Maurer.

A lot more injuries:

OT Colemon is out for 2 weeks
SE Bening is questionable
SE Boothroyd is out for a month

Because Henry is back to probable, I rush him back to start for Coleman. I activate WR McDaniel and move him into Boothroyd;s place in a few formations

We are 4-0!

Week 5 – We host and smash the Steeler 37-13. MOM is Wright with 146 yards and a score. Schuster with another TD grab. Nekolny is 22 of 33, 276 and 2:0. Lorey has 23 for 120 and 1 score. Pick returned for a score by Kempthron 2 sacks by Rincon.

More injuries. A bunch more:

C Graham is out for 14 weeks with a full ankle sprain. Given this is week 5, I go ahead nod put him on IR. It’s a sad way to end his 10 year career with us, nbut it’s not uncommon.

C Henson is out for 3 weeks. C Burmeister starts for Graham until Henson returns, and Coleman, probable, is rushed back for the OT spot.

CB Canada is questionable. Arledge returns

Week 6 - We host the winless Dolphins. We are favored by 13, so I hope this is a chance to play backups and get rested. We beat them 28-15. Arledge is MVP, 30 of 39, 317, 1:0. Wright has 134 and score. Lorey adds 30 for 122 on the ground and 2 scores. 2 picks by Miles Tatum. 4 KRB by Maurer

No. New. Injuries.

Yay!

Week 7 – We head to New York to face the 2 win Jets. We shut them out, 27-0. Arledge is MOM with 22 of 31, 239, and 3:0. RB Lorey with 2 td grabs and wright the other. Lorey adds 18 for 73 on the ground. Pick by Rincon.

SS Kempthron is questionable with a strained hammy.

Beneing is healed

Lynch ends his hold out. I bench McDaniel.

Week 8 – We host the 5-2 Pats. We beat them 32-14. 8-0. MOM is Arledge with 18 of 27, 1:0 . 2-04 yards, and TE Sowers got a score. Lorey adds 86 on the ground. Picks by Tatum and Rincon But we just blew up fumbles. We had 5 FF, 3 recovers. F2 FF by Parmely, 1 each by Tatum, DE Gibbons, and Schmidke. Recovery by Stanton, LB Tubbs, and LB Newhart. Both Stanton and Tubbs rushed their fumble recoveries for scores. Sacks by a bunch of folks too. 5 on the day.

Boothroyd and Henson are healthy.

Week 9 – We have the Ravens swing by and send them home -40-6 BOOM! That is a thumping. About halfway through, Lorey injured his finger and broke it. Snyder replaced him. Both were okay. Arledge was 23 of 33, 292, 2:1, MOM, hit Riley for 115 yards and TE Franklin twice for scores. 2 picks by Tatu, pick s Shaw, returned for a score, and…ick by DE Everett Parmely, and returned for a score.

Another injury. OG Maurer is out for two weeks . I rotate my o line again to adjust

Horton is healthy.

Week 10 – BYE

Kempthron is healthy.

Week 11 – We head to the 0-9 Bengals. 41-25. Not a good day for my defense, 1 sack, no picks, no FF, nothing. But m offense? Lorey has 28 for 178 and 2 scores. Arledge is 17 of 24 for 231 and 3:1. Wright with 2 scores and Riley with 109 yards and the 3rd TD. 5 KRB by Bitnio.

Another injury. C Bermeiser is out for a couple of weeks. I move Maurer back a week early

Week 12 – We smash the Bears 34-3. Arledge, MOM, 32 of 35, 388 2:0, and hit Riley foro 100 a 1 score, and RB Lorey for another score. Lorey added 21 for 74 and 2 on the ground. 3 FF and 2 recoveries by my defense.

Wright is questionable.

Week 13 – We lose in Houston 22-33. Lorey was 19 for 61, Arledge 21 of 34, 272, and 2:2. Riley had 117 and 1 score and Lorey the other score. Not a great day.

11-1 at the three quarter mark

Week 14 – Next up we host the 4-8 Lions. 30-16 we take them down. Pick by Rincon, Aleredge is MON with 27 of 34 for 326 and 1:0. TE Franklin with that TD scor.e Lorey was 25 for 147 and 2.

Wright is healthy, Burmester too

Week 15 – We host the Bengals, at 0-13. We win 13-9. C;pse than I would have liked, btu okay. Pick by Sawyer Nelson. Arledge was 21 of 26, 294, and 1:1. Franklin with the score. Lorey was 22 for 91. 2 sacks by Krauchick

Week 16 – MOM and NFL Offensive Player of the Week is WR Dustin Wright, 14 catches, 250 yards, 1 score. Arlede was 27 of 40, 349, 1:0. Lorey just 22 for 95 1 score. Pick by CB schmidtke. We ebat the pack.

But SS Shaw is out for a few weeks with separated shoulder. Well, I can slide my other strong safety right in

Week 17 – We host the 6-9 Steelers. We smash them 45-22. Arledge, MVP, 23 of 32, 363, 4:1, hits Riley 2x, Franklin 1, and Lynch once. Lorey has 23 for 86. Pick by Tatum, returned for a score 94 yards. 3 sacks by Alcott, 1 each by Rincon, Krauchik, Stanton, and ironically, CB Schmitdke.

We finish 15-1 and my defense dominated. We held our foes to 13.8 points/game The league aver is 22.2, we were the best. The next best were the Titans at 15.4, and then the eagles at 18.9. Meanwhile we have the 2nd highest ppg at 28.3, just behind the 49ers at 28.4.

So we just dominated.

We are 15-1, and the AFC still has the Ravens, Texans, Colts, Titans, Bills, Broncos, and Patriot s all at 10+ wins. 8 of the teams are 10+, or fully half the league! We have the 0-16 Bengals giving out a lot of gifts this year. There are two divisions in the NFC where there’s no 10 win team. The Eagles won the east with a 8-8 record.

We have an injury. LT Trenton Henry is out for 5 weeks with a damaged patellar tendon. Burmeister starts

We host the Titans

In the NFC< the Cards host the Falcons

The Falcons win on the road 37-30.

We defeat the Titans 13-10.

MOM is Everett Parmely, with 2 sacks and a FF. Pick by Tatum. Lorery is held to 32 yards rushing, and Arledge to 26 of 37, 298, and 1:3. Riley had 116 yards abn Wright the TD>

I’ll take any sort of win.

No major injuries either.

The 2025 NFL Super Bowl!!!

Featuring….

Your NFC Champion #2 seed 10-6 Atlanta Falcons !!!

VERSUS

Your AFC Champion, #1 seed 15-1 Cleveland Browns !!!

FS Shaw is probable. I activate him. And I play him at Nickelback.

You ready? We often have tough Super Bowls. I don’t think this is going to be one of them

They begin with the ball, drive 72 yard, 10 plays, each up 6 minutes mad score a TD. 7-0 Falcons

We drive three plays, and then they sack and force Arledge to fumble. They recover and drive to the 18 yard line before being brought down. On their first play from scrimmages, Stanton forces a fumble, Atlcott recovers, and we get the ball back

We start on our 22, go three and out

They ge it on their 37, drive 7 play s, score a TD with 2 minutes left in the quarter.

14-0 Falcons

We get the ball on our 25, and Arledge pushes the ball down te field rapidly. 8 plays alter he hits Riley for a 9 yard score for 14-7 Falcons

The Falcons get it at their 30. 12 plays and 70 yards and more tha 6 minutes later. They score another TD.

21-7 falcons

We get the ball at 8:19 left in the half. Two plays later, Arledge tosses a pic deep in our territory. Tey get the ball on our 22, and one TD pass later, they git us again

28-7 Falcons

We get the ball with 6:33 left. We drive 60 yards in 7 plays, and kick s FIG.

28-10 Falcons

Two plays into their response, Julio Stanton intercepts a pass and is brought down immediately. Turnover

We get the ball out out own 47 There is where we need momentum

And we get it. We finish with2:20 on the clock and our response of a score. Lynch caught a 32 yard pass from Arleedge. They run out of time.

28-17 Falcons at the half.

We start with the ball, and a 7 ball, 61 yard drive winds up with a FD

28-20 Falcons

The Falcons go 3 and out, with -5 yards, and punt

We get it at our 29. We go 6 and 23 and punt

They get it at their 30. They go 3 and out again and punt

We get the back at our 30. Time to man up. 6 plays. 70 yards. We score a TD as Lorey gets a 1 yard pass from Arledge.

28-27

They get the ball at their 25. 12 plays, 59 yards later…Alcott forces a fumble that Rincon collects.

We get the ball with 14:20 left in the game, on our 35. We drive. 7 plays. 65 yards. Just 3.:487. Lorey rushes for a 4 yard score. First time we lead in the game. But…McManus misses the PAT. Just a 5 point lead.

28-33 Browns

They get the ball at the 10:32 mark. They know they need to strike quickly. They fire a 75 yard, 5 play 2:25 yard drive and strike a TD. Now, they want to go up three, so they go for a 2 point conversion. They fail

34-33 Falcons. And suddenly that PAT miss by McManus looks huge.

We get the ball with 7:40 to go ans start our drive at the 34 after Bening gets it out. We need ot score. 8 plays, 38 yards late they stop us….McManus kicks a 45 yarder, his 3rd FG on the day.

34-36 -Browns

Now the Falcons get the ball back with 3:38 left at their 29. And then they are forced to punt and go three and out. We get the ball. They have their times out and the 2 minute warning. We get it at our 28. One, two, three plays, we are driven back 9 kicks, and punt from our 19. Emerson punted the ball 51 yards to give them as much push back as possible. Will it e be enough?

They get it with 1:45 left on their own 34. Now remember, they are only down by 2. They get to FG range, kick it, and it’s game.

The final drive…..

The first play, their QB, Teddy Bridgewater, passes to Dotson 7 yards out of bounds.

At 1:37 Bridgewater finds TE Kinzie for 12 yards in bounds. Penalty on S Larry Shaw, declined, stops clock

At 1:28, Bridgewater passes to TE Pritchett, incomplete

1:19, Brudgewater passes for Kinzie…and…PICKED OFF BY Schmidtke!!!

I will take that. Closer than it should have been, bit I’ll takes it

Arledge, Super Bowl MVP, 27 for 37, 379, 3:1.

Lorey, 27 foro 88, 1 score

Wright 130 yards

TD catches by Lorey, Riley, Lynch

Picks by Stanton and Schmidtke

2 forced fumbles and recoveries

We had 4 turnovers on the day

2 sacks by Rincon and Stanton, 1 each by Nelson and Alcott

4 KRB by Joel Bintonio

Notice players missing from that? FB Schuster, Stanton and Arledge. How did Arledge not get OPotY, or All Pros? He didn’t deserve them. Remember he was out for all but one drive of one game, and two more games

Arledge was 13th in yards, 10th in pass TDs but blew up in QB rating and led there by far. It's rare to see the league MVP not go the OpotY, but it happens, rarely.

Rushing:

Again, Lorey led the league in rushing, although it wasn't this amazing 2000+ yard season like last year. He also was down in rushing scores.

I don't think I've had a double 1000+ season in this year yet, so that's nice. Wright is 120 yards in front of the rest of the league. Riley was 6th in receiving yards. Team Awards!

Offensive MVP – WR Dustin Wright – he had that 250 yard game, led the league in receiving yards, looking good doing it too. Good job Wright!

Defensive MVP – DT Damien Alcott – He had a better season that either McGee or Bennie did at DT. Great job Alcott! 14 sacks? Whew!

Special Teams MVP – Meh. Emerson?

Rookie of the Year: DE Everett Parmely – Defensive Rookie of the Year! Nuf said!

Heart Award – QB Sebastian Nekolny – Undrafted FA that walked into a 15-1 juggernaut when an injury hit Arledge, and didn’t miss a beat. Had a better QB rating, no picks, 5 TDs, and 798 yards in 2.5 games. Good stuff Nekolny!

End of Season –

Performance – 90
Value – 79
Profit 78
Roster 28
Score 78

Two Browns retire. OG Bitonio and C Graham, under doctor’s orders

Both spent their whole career with me!

Other major retirees of note –

RB Tod Coffey, one fo the first powerful RBs the game made
WR _ allen Hurns, DeAndre Hopkins,
O Line – Zach Fulton, and many Mamore….

But….

DC Jadeveon Clownery, and LBs Kiko Alonzo, Dee Ford, Trufant, Luechley and……

TWO players you will know:

DE Joey Horner – 120 sacks, 22 blocked, 150 hurries, 153 QBKD, 22 FF< 14 FumRec, 2 scores – Defensive Rookie of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, 5 time All Pro, set the season record for most sacks, set the game record for most sacks. PLEASE BE HALL OF FAME!!!

LB Chris Kirskey – 2 All Pros, 23 sacks, 5 blocks, 14 hurries, 15 QBKD, 939 solos, 285 assists, 23 picks, 4 INT RET TD, 46 pas def, 11 ff, 7 rec,

And that was just during the era Kirksey played for us, and does not reflect him pre-start of the dynasty. He was in his third year

We wish you well!

In one day, those four players, all with All Pro ties to my franchise and dynasty are gone 

Just one HOF Inductee Rob Grontkowski

We were the only team with 100% attendance last year, we made 89 mill

STAFF TIME!

I gave raises to my DC and AC, and make no changes in the staff draft

I have….

56 mill in cap space, 37 players under roster. I need 10mill for my draftees.

Now I planned for life without Stanton….

Here are my players currently free:

Stanton
Kempthorn
CB Gonzalez
TE Ruddy
FL Lynch

That’s it
We also have 10 RFAs from my roster as well,

Now, we have these major players coming up that I need the cash to resign:

LB Rincon – All Pro all three years. Have to resign him
RB Lorey is final year of his deal. We need to deal with reupping him
CB Gregory Canada is going to be in the discussion.
CB Schmidtke is up for a new deal
Shon Coleman
WR Dustin Wright
FS Miles Tatum

Some good, quality backups like LB Tubbs and Gibbons and RB Snyder

That’s a lot

To franchise Stanton would be 28.5 mill. Basically, I could franchise him, and then…. I’m not sure what else. II’;d still have a good 18 mill and 38 players on my roster. I could probably keep Rincon and most of my reupping FAs for that. Extend RFAs too. Anyone with a bloated contract who’s no longer worth it?

It’s hard to imagine my team without Stanton. 8 All Pros, 2 DPotYs. 127.5 sacks and growing. And I only am forced to do this because the game mechanic of players not resigning after a second tag.

I so franchise Stanton. I don’t need any of these other bums that are FAs, and I’ll likely cut him in a few minutes after I Start reupping folks. But I want to give Stanton that chance!

I do not intentionally extend RT Coleman, K McManus,

I extend Emerson by a year. I have never wanted to move from Emerson. He’s good, quality, shows it, and not expensive like top punters tend to be,. I extend Newsome vet nmin sal and SE bening

Canada wants – 46.5 mill, 4 years
Rincon wants – 62 mill, 4 years

I pay Diego Lorey… 70 mill over 4 years

I like to make my big guys flat for 3 years, and then with a dummy year tacked at the end. I did that with Lorey. 16 mill cap hit first three years, then 22 mill at the end.

I sign these RFA:

DE Yaros, QB McIntyre, RB Danek, C Matt Burmesyer for 3 years, 4 mill, CB Moss,

I need 4 mill over 2 years for QB Nekolny

I resign Tatum for 3 more years, total 32 mill 4 years

Schmidtke is like my older guys. He’s 32, I’m waiting until camp to extend him a year

I sign Rincon: 4 years, 62 mill, for 14, 13, 13, and 22 cap hits

I cannot sign FAs, I cannot extend some others, I am now up against oy draft cap, and have just 420k left.

Goodbye Stanton!

DT Blades is my Defensive Front Leaders after Stanton heading to the hills. I have confluicts with LB Newhart and Gibbons and DT Nelson. That;s not good.

Oh, and with Graham gone, my nea leader on the O Line is Maurer and…he has pissed off OT Lae and C Burmeister…

Not what I want.

I advance a week

Anyone I want to chase?

Here is what I’m missing:

Stud/start TE?
Starting OG

Backups – Qb, TE, WR, OGx2, DE, CBx2 , S

There’s a good OG in the pool, 63/63, 9t year vet Corwin Fruth. Wants 18 mill over 3 years. Or I could try and hit up the draft.

I sign Canada for 48 mill, 4 years, with cap hits of 10.6, 10.3, 10.3, and 17,8. I have the cash for Fruth, but a 9th year vet doesn’t strike me a s solid answer. Let’s look at the draft first!

I interview a bunch of GOs, nothing is good. This is a deep OT draft, I could move an OT over.

Whoa!

There is a great, high bar CB in the 6th overall spot, with no combines but as scouted. Looks sexy – Bryant Crane. Will Crane fall? There are also some solid Tees near the top of the draft too

There are three just studly stud LBs on in the outside backer spots.

The dropoff in quality from OF Fruth to the next OG on the FA list is bad. And I don’t see any great OGs here But I could be tempted for OT into OG. If Fruth were 7th year, I’d do it. But I don’t want to sign a 31 year old OG who busts 10 points in camp. You know? I can do better than that.

I do not make an offer for Fruth

The best K in the league isn in fa. 14 ear vet Caleb Sturgis, 91/91. Also out there is 6 year vet, 78/78 SE Russell Martinez. Both quality.

I watch for a while

Int eh draft this year I have 1.32, 3.15, 3.19, 3.25, 4.30, 4.21, 4.32, 5.22, 5.32, 7.32

So I don’t need to go after anyone in FA that much. I can go after these folks!

Week 3 – Martinez signs a 100 mill deal with Dallas

Week 4 – Lynch heads to New Orleans. Good luck! You shouldn’t have held out… you have dropped what you wanted by 50% and I would have resigned you.

Week 5 – Fruth heads to SF 49ers

Week 6 =-Kempthorn to Denver, Gonzalez to Green Bay

Want to make on offer for a Kicker much better than McManus but a year older? Yes, I do. I make an offer. I have the cash, I don’t need anything else, might as well have the best K in the game, right?

Week 7 – We sign Sturgis for 20 mill, 3 yras, and that;s 1.2 mill more than McManus this year. I cut McManus. Remember Michael Dunn? He signs with the Bills.

Week 8 – McManus heads to Houston. Remember Antoine Harrison? Heads to Boston. Lincoln Baxter or the Jags

Week 9 – No one has made an offer to Stanton, even though he’s halved his contract demands to 36 mill over 3 years. He won’t take my offer. In real life, he would have, right? He liked playing for me, yadda yadda.

Week 10 – TEE Ruddy heads to Minnesota

End of FA

Stanton untouched

That is just bizarre.

The 2026 NFL Amateur Draft!

The Bengals kick of the draft with WR Mitchell Shreves coming off the board

CB Crane, I was interested in heads off at 1.18.

Then the second to last OT heads off at 1.19, . Hmpf.

This is not a very talented draft. I may trade some picks away for future picks, or to target the handful of quality here.

At 1.22, the Vikings biggest needs, and I am not kidding, are Ot, OT, and DT. Not a typo. The last good OT won’t make it past them. Right?

I offer my 1/.32 and 3.15 to move with the Saints to 1.11 and then I grab OT Lucas Lucas (not a typo) OT going 1.22 who I wanted. A lot. 4 reds, 1 blue. As scouted. Here we go

Who would I have taken at 1.32?

Some great players go in the late 20s, including two great Dts I liked, and a quality FS at 30.

A stud LB is left, WLB 3-4 guy Ethan Nelson. 3 reds, 3 blues. All stud. I would have gone him.

The Vikes take the top OT on the board and move on.

Player’s I’m following include OG Bill Potz, TE Perrone, and I want to see where Nelson winds up

None by pick 50

None in the first two rounds

How is Nelson still on the breaking board? And Plotz and Perrone are good too. I thought Perrone would be one of my 3rd rounders and scouted him. Plotz too. But Nelson? Wow. Even if a bad draft like this, there’s always somebody who tumbles

Uh oh. At picks 3.5 and 3.6 there is a run on TE, leaving Perrone on the board at the top.

3.10 at Dallas is the first team that needs TE on the board next. That pick is worth 220 points. I could throw a couple ofo 4ths at get it. Do I want Perrone that much? Nah. Wanna swap 3rds to get Plotz or Nelson? Nobody from here to us at 3.19 needs LB.

So let’s keep going.

Nelson goes 3.10 to Dallas

ARGH!!!

I didn’t see Dallas taking Nelson. Now I would have swapped 3rd so something. BLAST it. I could have gotten a 1st rounder here. Ah well, lesson learned.

Do I want to move up for Perrone? I could leap from 3.19 to 3.11 and move…nah it’s too pricey. I’ll just grab someone else.

Pick 76, Perrone heads to the Jets

At 3.19 I take LG Bill Plotz

At 3.25 – There are three intriguing people here. DT Marshal walker? He might “just” be a DT, but he’s good. DE Grayson Floyd and WR Grady Gillespie. Gillespie might be the last decent receiver on the board. But I go Floyd. Floyd is too good not to take here.

Walker goes 4.4 to the Jags

4th round –
I take FL Grady Gllsespie with my first pick in the 4th.
MLB Braxton Rhodes is next. Quality backup
S Julio Langley – just a body

5th? CB Cooley, again just for having a body.

7.32? RB Alexis Talley intrigues, especially as someone from MARSHALL

Amateur Draft Report:

Rnd 1 - Lucas Lucas, T, Wisconsin
Rnd 3 - Bill Plotz, G, Notre Dame
Rnd 3 - Grayson Floyd, DE, Toledo
Rnd 4 - Grady Gillespie, WR, North Carolina
Rnd 4 - Braxton Rhodes, ILB, Mississippi
Rnd 4 - Julio Langley, S, Maryland
Rnd 5 - Herb Cooley, CB, Lock Haven
Rnd 7 - Alexis Talley, RB, Marshall

Early draft results – not great. B rating

Plotz – 39/69
OT Lucas 32/68
LB Rhodes 32/66
Gillespie 29/51
Langley 25/40
Cooley 20/39
Talley 24/37
DE Floyd 31/64

Not the best I’ve ever had. But we’ll see if any pan out and who that might be if so.

I advance to late fa.

I offer spots to these UFAs:

QB Blake Kilgore
LG Cory Hammond
RCB Dustin Benton
FL Kristoher Dotson
TE WallY Ayers
RCB Quinn Hickman

And 2nd year TE Ezekiel Crews, let go by the Giants.

Stanton still doesn’t want to sign with us.

Week 1 – We sign 5 of our targets

Week 2 – Another joins us

Week 3 – Pur last target joins us

Stantons signs a vet min sal contacts with the Saints for one year. Wouldn’t you have signed a much bigger deal that that with me? Hardly realistic…

CAMP!

Major changes to my peopops?

With Alcott 90/90. He is rated as….

4th best player in the game behind OG Duffy, LT Schutlz and DE Hastings. K Sturgis is not only the best K by far, but the 5th best player in the NFL. Just 22 players are rated 80 or better. We have two – Sturgis and Alctot.

Rincon is 3rd best OL, Nelson 4th best, Krauchecki 6th best, and Horton, 11th best

I add a year to CB Schmidtke’s deal

I cut RB Talley And Cooley, who neither were better than UFAs I signed or other options I have on my roster. I cut Dotson and drop us to 54…

I extend RB Snyder by a year

I trade 63/63 LB Eduardo Gibbons, final year of his rookie deal, to the eagles for the 3rds in 2029/ I have too many LBs of quality to extended Gibbons Every LB I get is 60+ potential, with on e at 58 instead.

The only major thing left to figure out is my O Line. I am starting: C Henson, OT – Henry, Coleman, OG – Maurer and……PLotz? Lucas Lucas? Plotz is a huge run blocking, but just 1/6 for pass blocking, with 38/92 run, and 90 strength, 70/88 endurance. That’s what you get from a highly touted 3rd round OG,, a bit of a weakness. Look, Arledge gest sacked. A lot. We get that. But do I want this guy protecting him? On the other hand Lucas Lucas is 26/77 run, 10/36 pass, 85 str, 96 end, and just as run blocking, although not as much fo a specialist. Which is fine for himself as an RT, I would not play him at LT. I sort of envision him taking over for RT Coleman or moving him to LG. Coleman is 34 and drafting his replacement was not a bad plan given the draft’s heavy amount of talent at the OT spot.

This year we’ll use Lucas Lucas ajust like Matt Burmeister last, as a major emergency starter regardless of position. But I want to give PLotz, you know what? Screw it!

This is LL now…

26/77
10/36
85
75/96

I move him to LG

This is LL post-move
30/83
7/37
85
72/96

He is now a 37/73 guy there

We are starting Lucas Lucas as LG

I extend Dustin Wright by 45 mill and 4 year deal.

I pay DT Graham Blades 13 mill for 4 years. I extend MLB Dexter Tubbs by a year for 4 mill, 2 years total. I extend Coleman by two years

We go 4-0 in the preseason!

Arledge drops a little to 29/29

LS Newsom to 85 long snapping

Schmidtke is down to 57

All of my Des are more like run stoppers then pass rushers. Other than Parmely.

Yaros – 79/86 run, 38/47 pass rush, 38 pr str.
Gibson – 70/91 run ded, 39/53 pass run tech, 28 prs
Floyd 0 34/72 run d, 36/78 pass r t, 38, pr str

You know?

Hmmmm…..

Are you thinking what I’m thinking?

I move Krauchick to DE in a couple of pass rush formations where he;s not my WLB. And Floyd is my general DE starting in our base D and Yaros is my Run D DE

I have 14 mill in cap space. Anyone I want to make an offer to randomly in FA or anything?

Nah

We have a few minor injuries – RB Snyder, OLB Nelson, SE Bening, FL Riley are all probable and Schdmidtke is questionable. All will continue

Week 1 – We start the season against the hapless 0-16 Bungles from last year, with a 14 point favorite….and…beat them 34-13. I think we covered that spread! Arledge, MVP, 24 of 37, 309, 4:0. Lorey ads 21 for 95 on the ground. Wright – 143 yards, 1 score, Riley 107 and 2 and WR Boothroyd is the final scorer.

Week 2 – We host and defeat Atlanta 20-14. MOM is Arledge, 23 of 31, 256 and 2:0. Wright and Riley with scores. Lorey held to 44 yards on the ground, pick by Canada, 2 sacks by Parmely,

Week 3 – The Broncos arrive and we beat them 24-17. Again, Orey is nothing, but Arledge is MOM with 22 of 35, 277 and 3:0, and Wright, Riley, and WR Grady Gillespie have TD catches.

Week 4 – Today we have the 0-3 Titans and…we takes them to the cleaner 31-7. MOM is Arledge with 23 of 38, 301 and 2:0. He rushes for a score. Snyder has a score on the ground and Lorey is 27 of 55. Franklng and Wright with TDs. 2 picks by Schmidtke, 3 sacks by Krauchick and 2 by Rincon.

At 4-0. We are in an odd place. I expected we’d be leaning on Lorey more, and he’s the weak part of my offense right now. Arledge is off to a blistering pace at 1143 yards, 11:0 ratio. And Lorey is a pedestrian 230 o 84 carries, with 0 rushing scores.

Bening is injured a new injury, questionable, strained hammy

Week 5 – Our winning ways continue at Jacksonville 27-14. Arlege, MOM is 36 of 46, 390, and 2:1 – threw his first pic. He hits Wright for 184 and 1, and FB Schuster for the other. Lorey is 23 for 42 ad 1. Picks by schmidtke, Horton, and Tatum

Week 6 – We win at Houston 22-17. Arledge comes back down to earth. 28 of 36, 314, and 1:2. He hit Wright for 109 and a score. Lorey is 31 for 108. Sturgus is MVP with 5 of 5 FGs. Nelson with a pick, 2 sacks by Alcott

Week 7 – We head to 2-4 Baltimore to take on the Ravens. We are favord by double digits, but we lose anyways, 30-22. Lorey 20 of 67, 1 score, Arledge 24 of 35, 1:1, 286, and Wrigth has 107 yards, FB Schuster the TD sore.

We leave with a few injuries –

OT Coleman, probable
LB Rincon, questionable for 2 weeks
RB Lorey, probable 2 weeks

No roster changes or anything

Week 8 – We host and defeat the Colts 26-10. Arledge is MM with 23 of 36, 264, 2:0 – hitting Wright and Riley for scores. Lorey is 21 for 109, and FF by Parmely and he recovered. 3 sacks by Krauchic. 4 KRB by Coleman.

We are 7-1 at the halfway mark

Bening, Schmidtke, and Coleman all healed!
