Your All-Time Favorite Games
Pro Football:
Career: FOF2 - Don't get me wrong, I really like FOF2004, and MP has really added an enjoyable new layer to my FOF gaming experience, but there was just something about FOF2 that hasn't been surpassed by any of the newer versions. Replay: Pro League Football - Included every NFL team from 1960-1995, lot's of options, accurate stats and great tracking, and you could watch graphical results for every play (it was fun seeing those old Chargers teams playing in their powder blue unis). Console: Madden 04 College Football: Career: TCY - although I think BBCF has a real shot at surpassing TCY. Console: NCAA 04 Major League Baseball Career: OOTP 5 - Has some quirks, but all the nice mods make it a must have game. I've also tried Puresim, but I don't like it as well. Replay: Old Time Baseball/Tony Larussa III - To me, no game has ever blended baseball's statistical accuracy with a graphical representation better than this one (even though I've heard some argue Earl Weaver had a better sim engine). Loved playing games in all those old historic parks. Console: As a general rule, I usually can't stand to play console based baseball games. Pro Basketball Career: Haven't really tried any career-based hoops games Replay: Statis Pro Basketball - Again it's one of the few I've played, and while it was nowhere close to being my favorite game, it was the best basketball game I've played. Console: NBA series College Basketball Career: See Pro Basketball Replay: See Pro Basketball Career Console: NCAA series Golf I like the Links series the best Boxing Fight Night -- recently surpassed Get Ready To Rumble on my list Strategy Civ 2 Command & Conquer -- Tiberian Sun Age of Empires Shooter Halo Doom Unreal Tournament Action Spiderman 2 Prince of Persia Legend of Zelda Fighting Games (non-boxing) Soul Calibre Double Dragon |

Quake3 I wasted a year of my life playing that game, and many of the mods for it...

Original SimCity
Original Railroad Tycoon FPS Football Pro (I expect to see a lot of guys say this one) FOF/TCY Those first three games really are what got me into gaming, specifically computer gaming. And all four are what got me into the genre of games that I love the most, with FOF being my introduction to 'modern' sports sims (without FOF I never would have been led to FBCB, FM/WSM, OOTP, and all the others I have played).

You do. I believe it's a similar syndrome to when old movies get remade every decade or two.
