The Mount Rushmore of TV theme songs
The latest Mount Rushmore of songs that remind you of movies got me thinking about this. It turns out this was way more difficult to narrow down to four than I thought.
The Brady Bunch - I don't think anyone in America doesn't know the words to this one. Pretty amazing when you consider the show ended 40 years ago. Barney Miller - My renegade pick, but I just love the bass line. The Beverly Hillbillies - Another classic, but I don't know if it has the staying power of Brady Bunch Gilligan's Island - I think the late 60's/early 70's were the golden age of TV them songs. There were so many that were good (Cheers, Flintstones, etc.), but didn't make my top four, so I expect to see a lot of different choices on this one. |

Seinfeld
Golden Girls Jeopardy Friends The opposite of this would be Breaking Bad. Its theme song sounded like the preset "Western" music on some 1996 electronic keyboard. |

There are tons of options here, I imagine everyone will come up with great lists that differ based on personal preference
Cheers The Andy Griffith Show The Muppet Show The Simpsons Cheers is the only one that I think MUST be on the list for me. I could probably based on mood make cases for tons of other things. The Andy Griffith Show is so simple but its completely recognizable and iconic 65 years later without lyrics, so it stands out to me and gets my second spot. The other two are personal favorites, but all the answers I've seen so far make sense. |

Sticking with just US and British TV shows (my original list had 2 anime on it, figured anime songs could make it's own Mount Rushmore)
Quantum Leap Doctor Who Star Trek The Office (US) |

Oh man, I didn't think of Jeopardy and Andy Griffith. Both good ones.
And I just thought of The Jeffersons. I may have to bump Beverly Hillibillies for that one. |

These two are most definitely on my list as far as personal favorites musically go. The final two slots would be a fight between The Jeffersons, Doctor Who, and this: If I were to be limited to listening to only one song until the end of time but any version of that song, Peter Gunn would be it.

I'm with Quik on this one. I think I might replace Welcome Back, Kotter with The Brady Bunch, but I'm not sold on that change.

The Brady Bunch Andy Griffith Show The Greatest American Hero1. 1. That they have yet to remake this show with Bruce Campbell as the FBI agent is one of life's most inexplicably mysteries. |
