NFL's 2-0 and 0-2 teams... your predictions, please

This was pretty interesting last year. After two games for everyone, we have an always-surprising list of teams who are either 2-0 or 0-2.

Your mission -- identify your list of:

2-0 teams who will miss the playoffs

0-2 teams who will make the playoffs

My predictions:

2-0 but out: Ravens, Eagles
0-2 but in: nobody

That seemed pretty easy, actually.

0-2 but in: Dolphins, Colts
2-0 but out: Broncos, Ravens, Texans

I think the Broncos QB situation will catch up with them. Maybe the defense will carry them all the way, who knows.

QB is much better than last year and the Oline, WR,TE and running back spots are better with the defense possibly even better this year.I think the two things that concern me are the rookie punter and McManus place kicking he has been less than his usual great this preseason and beginning of season.

Dolphins and Colts in not sure about that.

2-0 but out:

Eagles or Giants-worse division in football last season and given the injury to Romo and the move to a rookie QB in Philly, probably the same this season. Giants defensive changes plus new head coach winning in the 4th quarter of close games probably bodes well for Giants.

Ravens-because they cannot seem to escape the injury bug in recent history. Early schedule very favorable, but they have to play the Steelers and Bengals some time right?

0-2 team, but will make playoffs:

Jax or Indy: somebody has to get a wild card in the afc right? Bortles and Luck seem to have the offense to get there, but not the defense. Injuries already decimating Colts D, so probably less likely than Jax.

Wash: Cousins should be enough in a weak division, but not looking to good far this season.

2-0 teams OUT: Ravens, Giants

I am so tempted to put Denver here, but with the 2-0 start and the fact that nobody else in the AFC West appears dominant, that defense is probably going to carry them through to a playoff spot. I almost pulled the trigger.

I like the Eagles better than the Giants. Zero doubt on the Steelers/Vikings/Patriots. The only other team is the Texans and I think their defense will win the South.

0-2 teams IN: Dolphins. Two toughest games of the year out of the way early.
I love Gase. I think they get in.

The only other two 0-2 teams with a shot are the Colts and Washington. The Colts OLine and DB's scare the hell out of me. They find a way to get to the midpoint at 3-5 or 4-4, they may make it. I just don't know how they do that. Washington? They need the last 8 games of Cousins from last year. They are 0-2 at home. It is not going to be an easy road from here.

I see zero way Buffalo, Cleveland, Jacksonville, or New Orleans get in.

I don't think anyone nailed all of these, but there were some great picks here. The final list of teams 2-0 who missed the playoffs:

Denver Broncos
Philadelphia Eagles
Minnesota Vikings
Baltimore Ravens

0-2 and in:

Miami Dolphins

Butter joined me in picking the Dolphins. MIJB wins some props for being the only person to nail 3 of the 4 unbeatens to miss the dance.

I still think Washington has a real shot. if Dallas beats Detroit tonight, the Redskins control their own destiny. They would only need a win at home next week against a Giants squad with nothing to play for.

This is most likely true but if Detroit and Green Bay tie, Washington is out.

I'm still shocked the Texans won the AFC South over the Colts. Indianapolis for me was a lock to win that division, expecting them to make a typical Andrew Luck lead comeback.

The Ravens choking, albeit not unusual, still surprised me. Even given the strong division they were supposed to be in. I figured they'd hold on to at least a wild card.

The Dolphins were not on my radar, but I bet that holds up for everybody not being an optimistic Dolphins fan.
Well, and you (TroyF), clearly.

The Packers had a 7% chance to make the playoffs at 4-6 - and now are one win away from the division. Pretty crazy.

Pretty much should have bet the farm against the Vikings and Branford failing

Honestly, I don't see it on Bradford. That offensive line just collapsed. They were poor the first few weeks. . . they they went full blown sociopathic and seemed like they were trying to get the QB and the RB's killed. Bradford hasn't played perfectly, but he's played very well considering the circumstances he's had to face.

As long as Pagano and Grigson are there, I will have little faith the Colts will get back over the hump.

At what point do we stop looking at Luck as the sure thing next great QB? He followed up a bad, injury plagued season with an OK to decent one - just about in the top 10 in QBR among starters.

Only reason I ask is because I see a similar argument a lot, that Luck is a stud and the rest of the Colts roster is just so bad they can't overcome it, but I think that's as much a product of the hype around him being the next Manning than his play on the field so far. Decent QB and one around 20 teams in the league would love to have, but I don't think he's any more than that yet, and he's been in the league 5 years already.
