If the Pats liked Bryant, they would have grabbed him at 22. There's some depth with receivers with second-round grades.

They're doing fine, and will use the extra picks to trade up in the second round when something comes along.

I love Gruden. He just totally verbally bitched slap Young when for like the fourth time he was talking shit about Denver's McDaniel and trading away Brandon Marshall. Classic. He is right to the guy caught ton of passes none in the playoffs and when in the last game they needed him hewas able to play.Correct.

Eh...I'm just irritated. I'd like to see them stick and take a pick for once...instead of constantly trading down. Especially because BB hasn't really shown that his "trade down and get a ton of picks" strategy has resulted in getting guys that stick on the team.

Frankly I think Pioli was much more important than any of us thought.

Congrats to Tebow, heck of a gamble, but one that I believe will pay off for Denver better than most of the other options available to them.

Was it up the thread here somewhere where someone said (or reference someone's report) that McDaniel knew all along who he wanted & was maneuvering to get that player from the beginning?

I wonder if Kiper has ever missed by this much, on such a high profile guy, as with Clausen? I know Rodgers slid quite a bit, but I'm not sure how highly he was rated. He obviously ended up being a very good starter, so I'm not knocking Mel (who I like a lot) -- just curious as to whether or not he has had a top 5 guy drop out of the top 25 before.

There was an article a while back (Peter King?) that pointed out that the Patriots have really not done much in the draft since the first couple that BB and Pioli put together, and much of their mystique comes from taking Brady in the 6th round. And outside of the D-Line, they've missed a lot since then.

That would be awesome. I think he has all of the physical skills to become a very good safety.

FTR, the only QB in this draft I believe will have an equal or better NFL than Tebow is Claussen and I'm not nearly 100% sure about even him.

I have to say I just don't understand taking Tebow if your Denver. You just traded for Brady Quinn and Kyle Orton is serviceable. Surely you had a bigger need than QB?

According to an article about his draft night plans I saw a little earlier, those are pretty likely his old high school teammates.

Yeah. I saw that...and i agree.

It's almost like they know that now and they trade down to try to avoid making the hard decision or something.

Or that's how it seems to me.

Well, you have to think someone else at the bottom of the first was planning on taking Tebow or else Denver would not have felt the urgency to move up.

I bet Todd McShay is giggling to himself every pick the passes up Clausen.
