Amdaily should be suspended for an hour or so, just because he got proven wrong wrong WRONG.

One of the Top 5 playoff performances all time? (the only one I can think of off hand that tops it, is Bird (vs Nique), because that was a game 7.

As for those here taking potshots at Barkley for his after game comments, it's pretty convenient for you to leave out Magic's identical comments when trying to defend Queen James lack of balls at big moments.

Then you could chalk it up totally to other issues such as team/coach/inexperience. Instead, we've got an otherwise fantastic player who never makes the game winning shot no matter what.

The horrible coach and mediocre surrounding talent didn't miss a free throw and a shot in the final two minutes tonight. They aren't the ones throwing passes all over the place late in the game. They aren't the ones who transform from aggressive stars to passive role players the more important the situation is. A bunch of turnovers and another poor shooting night for LeBron.

His team went farther than some other star players teams by beating a Washington team that was missing it's two best players and a NJ team that is nothing special. His team is in the conference final of the clearly inferior conference and will be very lucky to win 1 game. No one denies that he has talent and the potential to become one the all time greats, but he is missing a key feature.

Gatorade made a nifty commercial with edited "what if" history that includes Jordan missing the shot over Ehlo. With LeBron, you wouldn't have to edit the video. A jumper at the end for the win means an automatic loss at this point. The addition of that part of his game, if he can do it, would elevate him to his current hype point of all-time great. Right now he's a very good player on a decent team in a bad conference where he doesn't have to make big shots due to the lack of quality competition. Until those big shots at the end go in, he's still not a truly great one.

Jordan, Bird, Magic, Dr. J etc. all hit the big shot when it mattered most...LeBron has yet to do that. He may or may not develop that since it is more a mental than physical attribute. He's not lacking anything physical. If he matures to the point of mentally handling the end game, big shot pressure, then he will take the final step into elite status. Right now, he is simply a great player with one glaring flaw.

I'd take LeBron over anyone other than Wade or Kobe at this point if I was starting a franchise, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't be smart enough to identify and try to fix his flaw.

Basketball fans get that. The GED crowd doesn't.

Change your mind HiFirevival?

No one is mentioning that Mike Brown also almost cost the Cavs the game by his idiotic use of the Cav's last timeout when it was completely unnecessary.

I agree.

I was pretty heavily involved in the earlier discussion and I'm willing to let it pass. He's stepped up and given Lebron a lot of credit the past couple games.

This thread needs to die.

I do think Hifi should get more credit than Amdaily, who was still calling out LeBron for missing two free throws during tonight's game.

Calling the guy a cocktroll for just quoting him was uncalled for, he didn't say anything other than ask if he changed his mind. If everyone is suppose to just forget what he said when things change then nothing he says has any merit. So yeah, that's being a bitch about it.

I don't know if calling the guy a cocktroll was appropriate, but calling him a troll was right. It was pretty obvious that HiFi changed his mind, quoting all of the bad posts and leaving off most of the good posts was doing nothing but baiting him.

Plus, saying LeBron was mentally weak when he was coming up short but then calling him mentally strong when he took charge is at least an arguable position.

You were right about the bitch, but you pointed it at the wrong guy.

Sure Id give him points if he hadnt been such an ass earlier in this thread. I am happy for him if he actually did. Was pretty brash and arrogant towards people in the thread earlier and it is very hard for me to phathom how a person could change their mind so soon after such HARSH criticism. I guess everyone is different.

Regardless saying any of that about a guy who has lead his team as far as he had up to that point was laughable. Even before game 3 the guy was still the best player in the eastern conference and top 5 in the league. A few games don't break a guy anymore than 3 games make him, he's still the best in the eastern conference and top 5, he's just a game closer to the finals now.

But he never said LeBron wasn't good, just that he wasn't good in the clutch. As the clutch play improved, HiFi backed off on his comments. I'm not sure what more you want. It almost seems like you got amdaily and HiFi confused...or didn't realize they weren't the same person.

Why do amdaily's words hold any merit? Just do a search of his posts relating to sports and it becomes painfully obvious he has no idea what he's talking about.

That is fine, but it should probably also be noticed that he has been changing his position over the course of the last few games. You can't really call him out for a sudden flip when he has been giving proper credit.

Its Simple, You cant make such harsh critical comments about a player/individual than back off instantly. You gain no credibility being that way.

If he would have said LeBron needs to prove something, or I wish he would learn to step up in the clutch. There is nothing nasty about that.

But things such as "This guy may be the most mentally weak superstar in quite a while." or "His team went farther than some other star players teams by beating a Washington team that was missing it's two best players and a NJ team that is nothing special. His team is in the conference final of the clearly inferior conference and will be very lucky to win 1 game." are pretty HARSH for a person to just say oopsie I guess I was wrong.

Plus the fact that he individually attacked more than 1 person in this thread. Anyway, it dont really matter, I just think you missed quite of bit of this thread.

yeah no kidding...missed the post where he said something to the effect of lebron's defenders being the "GED crowd"

it reminded me of the sean salisbury technique; yelling and insulting people to try and defend some asinine position on sports.

I accept that HiFi has legitimately changed his view and accepted what many of us were arguing all along. That said I'm still kind of POd about that insulting post about intelligent posters knowing LeBron is a choker, implying the rest of us are idiots. Anyway, there's more room on the bandwagon after we kick Geraldo Rivera off of it.

I just keep wondering if MJ could have done something like this without Pippen. I also hope the select group of Cleveland fans who blast LeBron will now STFU so the team can concentrate on keeping him in a Cavs uni for life. I'd really, really, really hate to see one of the big market teams get him. It would suck what little love I have left for pro basketball out of my veins.

So just this afternoon, a student of mine was telling me how it was going to be Detroit and San Antonio in the championship. When I reminded him of LeBron James, he said "Ah, I don't like him." I asked why not, and he said "He's just not good." I'm curious to see what he says tomorrow

I have gotta say, this NBA post-season has been pretty memorable. And that game was amazing to watch. It's tough to say that he has now 'arrived,' because he's been very good for a little while now. But this is the sort of performance that sets someone apart.

I was at a bar on Thursday night, and all anyone could talk about was LeBron's performance. Pretty awesome when a player from two time zones away dominates conversation.

I don't see why not, but it depends on how you are looking at it. If you are talking about building a team, LeBron or Oden is first. If you are talking about what the players can do NOW ... it's still Duncan.

If we are talking about right now, I agree it is:

Kobe
Duncan
LeBron

However, Kobe and Duncan have a lot of mileage on them. Kobe has many more minutes played than the typical player of his age. If I was building a team around one player it would be LeBron than DWade.

I like Dwight Howard quite a bit as a player to build a team around. Not sure where I'd rate him, but its not much behind King James.

I take Lebron over Kobe, not only his age - but his attitude and his willingness to distribute the ball (few OT quarters aside). Kobe is the better scorer - and better defender but he's pretty much hit his ceiling by now and I don't like the way he chooses to play if I were building a team and had a choice.

How does everyone think LeBron would do if he and Bryant switched places?

I'd bet the Lakers would make the playoffs and at least win a round or two with the talent in La-La land.

Not really a fair comparison. I think a more fair one would be to switch conferences
