Yep, I called it just before the fight. He earned that.

Hendricks won rounds 1, 2 and 4 and I can't see any justification for him getting any of those rounds.

That defies all logic, the action, the beating, total horseshit.

I noticed that the 2nd was the one the ESPN blogger said he scored for GSP but had second thoughts about later

This is why I rarely watch MMA anymore and completely quit on boxing. The judges are a complete joke. Combat sports could just go away.

what a joke, it would have been so much better if GSP would have finally lost in a fight that he had every reason to lose.

so much for the rematch. not a scratch on Hendricks, not a spot where he was in danger. No reason at all for this to go the other way.

I don't see how there is any argument when GSP wins this fight. It's 3/2 all the way down the card. I had GSP winning 3 and 5, but that's it, and only just barely. Hendricks clearly won the other rounds.

Hendricks might win in the 2nd if he doesn't lose his mouthpiece, not sure how that guy would have given that round to GSP.

{shrug} No clue, just thought that was an interesting thing to have seen someone say out loud (before the actual results were known)

I can't imagine that Dana is happy over it. He is in a rough spot especially with GSP saying he needs to go away for a while. Guarantee GSP won't be at the post fight.

Nope, Dana is pissed. At least he is saying the right things about how it all played out.

Sonnen needs to bow out as any kind of contender for any weight class.

So the way to win in MMA is to do really good the last 20 seconds of every round. That pretty much guarantees the win for you.

Disgraceful decision - MMA was already becoming a bit too much like boxing for my tastes, this is just another nail in the coffin.

Even on "technical" Hendricks did enough to win that fight but when you completely bust a guy up and you don't take a scratch, it's just obvious who won. The only question was whether it was 49-46 or 48-47 Hendricks.

That was a tough one.
Im a big GSP guy, but he got his ass handed to him last night.

I wish there was some way to not endanger lives AND eliminate judges from boxing/MMA...Im thinking keep fighting until someone quits etc.

There is no doubt conditioning is at an all time high, fight frequency at an all time low YET years ago boxers routinely went 15 rounds...now 12 is the absolute max and 5 in MMA.

I really want an old school no rounds blood sport to see who the baddest man is, but thats too barbaric I suppose

Not really seeing the outrage here. Both men clearly won 2 rounds each and that first round was close enough that I have no problem to anyone who gave it to St. Pierre. It's the 10 point must system they fight under, and under those rules it was an even fight that hinges on round 1.

Either way I think Hendricks wins the rematch.

Conflicting reports about his death tonight, but it looks like he's brain dead and they were just going to give him 72 hours as of two days ago and hope for a miracle.

Honestly, that's a very fair score. I had Silva winning 1. 2 could have gone either way. 3 was big for Hunt. 4 was big for Silva. 5 was Hunt.

Draw was very fair.

10-8 Hunt

Ron Papaiannou
10-9 Silva
10-9 Silva

10-9 Silva
10-8 Hunt

Edit: I wasn't scoring the fight as I was watching it, but i figured the 10-8 round must have been when the one where Hunt was on top of Bigfoot for the last 2 minutes of the round just busting him open. Maybe the judges got a little caught up in things and wanted to score it a draw, so they gave Hunt the 10-8 5th instead. I'm OK with it, the fight was great, and was just what I wished UFC was more often - two big, ugly, bruisers beating the shit out of each other past the point of exhaustion.

Sad for anyone to go at that age. What a shock that must be for his family and friends. RIP Shane.

Free UFC fights on FOX tonight. All 4 fights should be good action, and even though the main will go the distance, it's going to be action all night long.

Kinda surprised myself by grabbing 168 tonight.
Thought there was no way I'd be awarding with all the bowl games and such...but the wife really got sucked into TUF this season and wants to see Rousey v Tate...so here we are.

Can't imagine Sylva not getting redemption if he is focused.
Likewise I think Rowdy is very likely to stay undefeated....but something tells me there is too much love here and Tate may just shock some folks. Looks like the money is around 92% on RR Vegas doesn't miss like that much at any odds.

Last odds I saw had Rousy at -700 odds (you bet $7 to win $1). Thats a ton of money on her side.

I don't see how Silva loses here unless age really is getting the best of him.

The Hall/Leben fight was interesting. Especially when Dana put the pressure on Uriah by making this a loser out fight.
Spoiler

WTF did Ariany do to her face? She was so pretty before, why go and get all the work done? I'm just sitting here shaking my head.

Man they are screaming through the fights tonight. Not sure I feel like sticking around while they fill massive time before the 2 title fights. Tomorrow morning is going to come too fast.

Tate's ground defense has looked alright, but I think Ronda has had the better of the striking too, so unless Meisha can pull a KO out of her hat I'm not seeing a real path for her.
