These days I'm lucky if UPS or FEDEX even attempts delivery before dropping it off at some 'convenient pickup hub' 3 miles away.

I have dogs, so they act as pre-, during, and post-delivery alarm bells.

The one time Amazon screwed up a delivery, I got a message that a package was out for delivery and then a few minutes later, another message that the package was lost. Got on a chat with Amazon service that night who confirmed it was lost even though I explained the conflicting messages, and for my trouble, they refunded the cost but still re-ordered it for me.

The next day, the package came. The day after that, another package came. I got 2-for-none.

Prime Days started today. And it seems like just about everybody is trying to "OutPrime" Prime. Almost every store/site with big sales, so worth checking your usual haunts.

So far I've checked 4 items and WalMart had the exact item at the same price. Even down to model/color if that's what the Amazon sale is for.

So far I haven't found any reason to spend money. We were looking at a Cricut machine for Caitlin, and it's advertised as 30% off ($399 on sale for $279). Except, Honey shows the pricing for the past 30-60 days and it's been $298 on Amazon since April. Looks just like any other "sale." No thanks.

Yeah, it's largely just a gimmick. Wow, a 2019 model television is now an extra 100 dollars off ZOMG!!1!
