The finished product unfortunately will probably be a few weeks. It is likely going to be a few weekends of data entry before I can even test everything.

The way I am having to do this, I pretty much only have one shot at inputting it all into the database. (Technically not just one shot, but it gets even more complex after that). So I'm going to try to get it right the first time.

I'll keep everyone up to date on the progress as I go just so you all can share in my happiness. This is something I've actually been working for some time on, and still have a long way to go!

I'm excited for you that you're making the progress that you want to! (does that sound like I'm being supportive without actually knowing what I'm talking about?)

Cripes, Teach, that was like one of those apologies I tend to be prone to where I say, "I'm sorry what I did caused you to react that way." Or else you sounded like Penny on Big Bang Theory.

That is all I have done right now. The good news is the batting stats will be all set for the other franchises when I piece them back together inside of the FOOL2 file. Hammersmith is the only franchise I have pieced back together yet though.

Along the way I've tried to write up some excel spreadsheet formulas to help speed the process up some by ripping information from webpages and other databases to spit into a csv file that I am using. I'm hoping that will make this a bit faster for the other franchises. (ie: took about 6 hours worth of work just to piece together Hammersmith's history.)

I still have to put together files for pitching and fielding stats and I have to combine it with present day FOOL stats too before I can spit it back into the game.

I also have to put together postseason info (who made playoffs/won the league/etc), as well as award and hall of fame info too.

None of it tonight or probably tomorrow either though. (I need to do some modern FOOL stuff tomorrow, write an article for the Village Idiot, get some new uniforms in to the game, a stadium change, etc too.) So probably will get to do a bit more on Sunday during the day.

Oh, and none of you will be able to see this in the FOOL file until the entire thing is complete, so don't dig in expecting it to be there tomorrow morning. All of these screenshots is with a test db I'm working with so as to not screw up the main file.

I hadn't noticed Soto was even in free agency.

I am guessing he hit the end of his contract and did the typical middle infielder "hold the team ransom" type of demand for a contract.

Yea he was asking for like a 3-4 year deal which I didn't want to give him, and I got a replacement for him in the deal I did with muns. I would have liked to keep him for his glove, but o well.

Here is the final version of the new Chico jersey, just a couple of minor changes. And here's the cap. Thanks for taking the time to put these in the game Alan!

Looks good buck. I messed with some two-tone designs for my new Tokyo jersey but I couldn't seem to make it work right. You did well.

Thanks, I'm glad everyone seems to like the new jersey. I was going for a little more modern look since we are so far in the future now. Hopefully the design will age well!

Just a quick reminder on the schedule for this week. I'll make sure to bring it up daily so no one forgets.

We are simming all evening sims this week, and have an extra sim.

Monday night - 2036 Regular Season
Tuesday night - 2036 Playoffs
Wednesday night - Arbitration
Thursday night - Expansion protection lists due / Live expansion draft at 9pm ET
Friday night - Free Agency Day 1 / Amateur Draft
Saturday night - Free Agency Day 2 / Spring Training

Let me know if there are any questions. I'll go over the expansion lists in detail once again later in the week.

I've made pretty decent progress this weekend. I wrote an excel script to rip a ton of the data that I needed from historical report pages and auto-format it in the way I need to insert it back into the database.

Still quite a way to go:

On the bad side, I think I've crashed my test db about 20 times because of the incestuous natures of the old Chico/Ann Arbor franchises. Both franchises had at least one version of an Ann Arbor team and both had a version of a Compton team as well. In the database each franchise and team ID has to be unique. (a team ID can't match a franchise ID either)...

So I am having to be a bit careful on how I insert all of this or it crashes when I import it in

Sorry to hear about the issues you're having. Thanks again for doing all of this, I think it will be very impressive once you're finished.
