WW CL - The Walking Dead

Werewolf - The Walking Dead

Welcome to The Walking Dead version of Werewolf. As you can imagine, there are going to be zombie attacks. And, well lots of them. There is going to be blood. There is going to be gore. And there is going to be fun.

This is going to be a fairly basic game of Werewolf. There is nothing too crazy or complex. As always, most roles will just be vanilla villagers.

The basic premise is a bit of a Walking Dead hypothetical. In season 2, Rick and Glen find Hershel drinking in a bar. Two men, named Dave and Tony, enter the bar. Fans of the show know what happened next, but we are going to fork from the storyline. Hershel, in his drunken state, decides to offer Dave, Tony, and a few of his men a place to stay. However, unknown to Hershel (and to the fear of Rick), the men secretly plan to take over the farm.

Once the men move on to the farm, strange occurrences start happening. Holes are created in the fence. Gunshots are fired at random times during the night. Hershel knows that someone is trying to sabotage the farm, but does not know exactly who.

The role of the village will be to find out who Dave, Tony, and the rest of his crew are. The wolves will want to take over the farm, and they will achieve that once they have a 1:1 ratio. There are no roled walkers, but we will be hearing plenty from them.

This game will be co-hosted with LSG. However, just include me on the PMs and we will sort it out. But she will be around to answer questions during the day to a certain extent. I am aiming for the game to start Monday, the 9th.

Rules

Deadline: Monday-Friday 10 PM EST

Voting: All votes must be bolded in the post. For example, Vote GoldenEagle. If you wish to change your vote, you may do so by bolding Unvote GoldenEagle.

Ties: All ties will end in a tie. There will be no lynch if the vote is tied.

Nightfall: Standard nightfall rules apply. Once you vote for it, it is final.

PM Rights: Only the wolves have PM rights.

Post Rules: No quoting of PMs. No editing or deleting posts. No personal attacks.

End Game: The village wins if they eliminate all the wolves. The wolves win if they gain a 1:1 ratio.

Roles

Hershel – He owns the farm and therefore has final say on the voting. As the duke, he can change the outcome of a lynching once. However, he can only do this once as otherwise the farm would revolt if he kept doing it.

Rick – He serves to protect the interest of the farm. Therefore, he can choose to protect one player a night from an attack at night. He cannot protect the same player two nights in a row.

Carl – He is Rick’s son and is often seen wondering around the farm. He is able to spy on one player a night and determine if that player is a villager or a wolf.

Lori – She is Carl’s mom and therefore begins the game with knowledge of who Carl is.

Shane – He is starting to go a little crazy. He starts out loyal to the farm but is capable of being converted to the bad guys. No one, including Shane, knows what the conversion rule is.

Dave – He is the leader of the group trying to take over the farm. If he is lynched, he can elect to take a member of the farm with him.

Tony – He is Dave's right hand man. He wants to take over the farm and he doesn't care how they do it.

Randall – He is the youngest member of the group trying to take over the farm. Because of his age, he has a relationship with Carl and is able to deceive him if scanned.

Depending on the number of signups, more roles may be added. If so, they will be added here.

BEWARE OF WALKERS

Fantastic concept for a game...but I am just too busy to play at this point (and I still feel bad about bailing on Spawn, so I am going to take some time off)

I will give this a go. I will pop my Werewolf cherry.

Mostly because Walking Dead, plus Jackal has been trying to get me to do this for years.

Good going pushing up the Walking Dead TV series thread to get the word out on the game, GE. But if you haven't done so yet, I highly recommend creating a separate thread in the main forum as well that specifically points to this game. Not everyone will automatically take a look at the TV series thread if they know new epsidoes aren't starting until October.

I'll play - don't know if I'll be any more available for this than last game but easier ruleset hopefully means I won't feel like I'm as far behind as I did while flailing away in Spawn.

I think there is a little bit of a worn out factor since we have had so many complex games lately. That and we are coming off a pseudo holiday weekend. Hopefully signups will pick-up.

Generally speaking mixing small and simple with larger more complex games works best. We've never been able to pump out big game after big game.

I figured it would be difficult to get a solid game going a week after Spawn, but we were hoping for 12 - 15 people. Jetsin06 makes it 10, so we might wait a day or two to see if we can get a couple of more participants.

I'm next on the list, and I intend to run a simpler game, although I am hoping it will still be fun.

I'll save my Game of Thrones game for later on down the line.

Haha for sure. I am pretty sure when I finally run that, I won't have an issue with players joining.

In fact, knowing the interest, it's an intriguing challenge for me to make sure the game I put out there is up to snuff (and with what I have planned I think it will be).

This game doesn't look like a complicated one though, right? People seems to be assuming it's complex.

No, this game is definitely not complex at all, beginners would be able to jump right in and do fine. It wouldn't make sense to try to run a difficult/complex game right after a Spawn game.

I would like to save this one for later, as I have some rules that I think require at least 15.

Someone got one they can run then?

I think ChiefRum had dibs on a larger game if i remember correctly, so maybe just chuck someone who was down on the GM list up a few notches if they would be ready soon

I could start a very simple small game. I won't have the time for crazy rules or elaborate write-ups, but I do have the time to set one up and let you guys go at it.
