Question Tablet in lieu of textbooks?

Does anyone have any experience with downloading textbooks onto a tablet? Any recommendations for the best tablets to use and the best apps would be greatly appreciated

The downside of course being that digital textbooks have no resale value and they're almost as expensive.

Advantage being that they weigh a lot less

My students almost universally hate on-line textbooks. So much so that I no longer use them even though the ones I was using were about 1/3 of the cost of a hard copy.

I had a few students who used them. Almost everyone preferred physical copies, though. Especially if you're the type to annotate or mark up your text. It's a hassle doing that on tablets, even for the kids who haven't known much of the analog world and been almost exclusively online/digital.
