because you dont listen to Philly sports talk radio?
if you listen to any thing from the city, whenever two of the schools play each other, mainly in basketball, its a pretty big deal (for Philly) |

Villanova, St. Joes, Penn, Temple, LaSalle - back in the day they used to play doubleheaders in the Palestra - and they used to keep track of the "Big 5" standings in the newspaper. It's really an ad hoc conference - the winner would have bragging rights in the city of Philadelphia.

Mainly a Philadelphia-only thing, which is why its special. As a Villanova basketball fan, I love that we've been dominating it lately.
There was talk to add Drexel, but that didn't go anywhere. If you really want to blow your mind, look up the "City 6". |
