Ugh, I already have Steam, GOG, and Origins and to a lesser extent Blizzard to keep track of, not to mention all the other older games I have lying around. I have no interest in another store app.

I got it. I've only been through the tutorial and the first mission, real time moving around and Xcom-like turnbased combat. Pick up loot and spend XP to improve your guys. It looks nice, runs well and no obvious bugginess so far.

It does seem quite linear and non-forgiving so far, the map has points of interest and guides you to the ones you're meant to do. I failed the tutorial missions twice before getting through them, so not overly easy.

Along the same lines, I don't play it, so not sure if it wasn't free to play before, but they've been talking about it today, Counter Strike: Global Offensive is free to play now and they have added a battle royale mode.

Been playing a little of this. I love it but the luster is fading. Seems like stealth kills are your only option. No areas respawn loot or enemies so if you get off pace, you're in trouble. Looks great, engaging, fun game but there's One True Way (TM) to win and no reason to try it a second time.

Someone convince me I'm wrong.

Looks like GoG.com is having a sale on many of its roleplaying games, many 75% off. Divinity: Original Sin I is $10.00 is the one that grabbed my attention right away. (not my wallet though)

Here's a deal I did take advantage of-at Fanatical CIV 6 is 80% off and with the code FANATICAL10 get another 10% off, which brought my total to just under $12.

Edit: And just got a 15% off coupon for my next non-bundle, non-Star, pre-order deals.

And thankfully I had the game already pre-loaded on Steam from one of their free weekend deals, so no long install time to wait for either

Anyone tried Railway Empire? I'm trying to decide between that one and Rimworld. I loved the old Railway Tycoon games, but I'm not sure if Railway Empire is in that vein. Everyone seems to like Rimworld though.

I thought that sounded familiar so I searched around. I knew I'd seen a playthrough, turns out that was a quill18 thing on YT.

A reminder that while steam sales are going on there are several ways to get the winter cards.

1. Click on the artwork on the store main page to "open a door" each day
2. Craft a badge after completing a set.
3. Go thru your discovery queue three times (1 card each)
4. Buy games (Usually it's a card every $10 spent)
5. Vote for the steam awards. (I think card per category voted)

I don't use paypal, but it is listed as one of their payment methods here:

Not listed as an option for me anymore either and I have bought plenty of games in the past using PayPal. Maybe a glitch in their store for some of us?

Cards allow you to craft badges.

Badges give you XP (Nerd Points) and free booster packs for more badges.
Badges you post on your profile.
Or you can sell cards on the market for a few cents each that you can use for whatever in your steam wallet.

Nerd Points increase your Nerd Level and that shows how awesome of a Steam gamer you are.

It's all a little mini-game for fun, and a little cash generator for Steam (each market transaction costs the buyer and seller $.01. It's quite a racket.

Personally, I have fun during the big sales and complete my badges where I can.

For any Smash Bros fans, Rivals of Aether is a neat little fighting game that is similar to Smash Bros. The fighters are more balanced than in Smash and almost all of them have a terrain effect that they can place and interact with. This gives most of the fighters more tools in their arsenal to use. It is currently on sale on Steam for under $4. Roughly half of the fighters are DLC now though, but with the sale, you can get everything for roughly $15.
