So, is the QB/WR "nerf" working?
Just curious, is this having a meaningful effect on the league? One of the attractions of doing it, to me, was basically to try to force me out of the same old, same old approach as always -- build around my pass attack and let the rest come together as best it can.
I look at some of the other people that I know from other leagues who tend to follow the same approach, and I see... well, I see them leading the league in passing with big star receivers. What about you? Is FOWL forcing you to do things you don't ordinarily do, philosophically? |

I think I may have underestimated how many of the existing studs I needed to get rid of when we started the league. The QB/WR talent now looks a good bit lower than it did then. I suspect that in 3-4 seasons (roughly 3 days from now). QB in particular will be very hard to come by. My scout has zero QBs above 65/65 now, and only one "new" QB above the mid 50s. There's a 76/76 WR, and five guys with future in the 60s, but that's it there as well. I don't think we'll have the QB/WR to go around to do things like we used to do them.

I really like it. Ive converted my main SP league to use the same FOWL rules and after 10 seasons of playing this way, its really forced me to make some interesting decisions @ QB. Good stuff.

Same here, doing this in SP after simming through 15 seasons is great because it makes for a more realistic game. Not very many stars at QB, no more 10+ QBs with 100+ ratings in a season. |

I changed my approach drastically and went with a "smash mouth" approach and then put it on steroids. Worked well the first couple of seasons but either a lack of good RB or cohesion issues with my line and we're up against it more often than not. But, with the "season in a day" simming I think I'm at a bit of an advantage, especially if I can get my line/RB clicking again, because teams can't alter their GP for us so we'll be facing a lot of teams who are geared to stop the pass or at least a more balanced offense. We'll see.
