One Game, One Artist, One Show, One Book
this thread and the Martian inspired me to think about this
What's your "one game"? - Front Office Football Central loved, loved, loved the Martian and so I am going to overlook the glaring wekaness of one of the funniest plot points (the idea that he only had 70s shows to watch. Storage is cheap and light, no reason he wouldnt have had almost endless supplies of multi media.) But I digress. lets take the journey where somehow you are limited. You are stuck on Mars for say 10 years. On your personal drive you were allowed to load one game, one musical artist one TV show and one book. Who do you take? for me it would have to be: OOTP Tim McGraw The Wire Capital what say you? |

Europa Universalis IV
Oasis Futurama The Godfather - Puzo As far as the Martian goes, didn't he only have 70s tv shows because that's what one of his co-astronauts had decided to bring with her?

yes - they talk about the music in the movie, and make a few small references. but the book goes into much more hilarious detail. the movie was very good, the book was outstanding. laugh out loud funny. |

OOTP14 (the one before I needed to have a CPA on hand)
Alkaline Trio (easy) The Sopranos Dragons of Autumn Twilight (other books are great for an occasional read but if I had just one...)

Interesting that you guys chose fiction books.
tons of fiction I love, but I went with non-fiction and something deep, long and complex because I figured if you only had one something like that would be more re-readable. |

I'm going with scale for my picks.
Football Manager 16 (advance copy, 'cause, why not?) (nope going with OOTP now, see below) Pearl Jam The Simpsons Game of Thrones The catalogs of PJ and the tons of episodes make it a pragmatic choice. I could re-read GoT a few times and get new stuff each time. And FM is alright by me, although OOTP would give it a run for the money because of customizable leagues. You know what? The more that I think about it, for 10 years, I think it would have to be OOTP, just for that reason. The ability to create something new when something gets stale. OOTP it is.
